Why Did the Top Alpha Suddenly Stop Acting Out? - Chapter 20
The camera panned back and forth several times, and Ye Shuyi tried a few times, but still couldn’t pull the suitcase out. A nearby photographer stole a glance at Yi Qian, thinking to himself how much one must dislike someone to refuse to help with such a trivial task. Just as he was about to step in to assist, Yi Qian moved ahead of him, picked up the suitcase, and walked straight toward the villa entrance, completely ignoring the owner’s reaction.
The two photographers exchanged surprised glances, and the personal videographer following Yi Qian quickly reacted, following in her footsteps.
Ye Shuyi stood there momentarily stunned, then quickly came to her senses and glanced at Yi Qian’s retreating figure. The corners of her lips curled slightly, and she picked up the suitcase at her feet to follow.
At the villa entrance, it wasn’t until she noticed someone standing beside her that Yi Qian raised her hand to press the doorbell. After a moment, the door swung open, revealing a girl with a bright red head of hair. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Yi Qian, and she immediately erupted into a shriek: “Ahhhh… Sister Qian Qian!!! I’m Cai Yunyoo, I’m your fan! I love you so much! Can I shake your hand?”
Before Yi Qian could respond, the girl enthusiastically grabbed her hand and pulled her inside.
Yi Qian quickly withdrew her hand, placing it on the suitcase’s handle, and said nonchalantly, “Thank you for your support, but I can walk by myself.”
After saying this, she took both suitcases and sidestepped Cai Yunyoo to enter the house.
Cai Yunyoo stood there momentarily stunned, quickly regaining her composure. She turned to greet Ye Shuyi and then followed her inside.
In the warmly lit living room, there were four double sofas in red, yellow, blue, and purple. Aside from the red sofa, the other three were occupied by one person each. Yi Qian watched as Cai Yunyoo ran over to sit on the red sofa and smirked slightly: “It’s clear that your relationships aren’t great, but each of you is hogging a sofa. Where do you expect me and my manager to sit?”
He Tong, sitting on the yellow sofa, immediately reacted and patted the empty space beside her. “Miss Yi can sit here.”
“Does Miss Yi really want to sit with her manager?” spoke Huang Xin, Cai Yunyoo’s manager, an alpha woman with a sharp bob haircut, gold-framed glasses perched on her nose, and dressed in a gray business suit, exuding a strong, capable vibe. As she spoke, she pushed her glasses up and looked at Yi Qian, “Wouldn’t it be more comfortable to sit with us?”
Yi Qian placed the two suitcases side by side and maintained a smile as she replied lightly, “However, there’s no one in this world who makes me feel more comfortable than her.”
“Since that’s the case,” Huang Xin turned to the solitary Cai Yunyoo, her tone flat but clearly commanding, “Yuyoo, come sit over here.”
Cai Yunyoo, who had been looking at Yi Qian with a beaming smile, instantly drooped her lips at this command, pretending not to hear as she took out her phone to play with.
Ye Shuyi and Huang Xin were about to speak when a gentle voice interrupted them. It was Long Xiaoqin, who stood up and said, “Teacher Yi and Manager Ye can sit here.”
After saying this, she moved to sit on the sofa beside her manager, He Tong. Although He Tong didn’t say anything outwardly, she subtly shifted her position.
Ye Shuyi nodded slightly at Long Xiaoqin and took a seat on the empty sofa. Once she sat down, everyone’s gaze fell on Yi Qian, who was still standing. To everyone’s surprise, Yi Qian didn’t choose to sit with Ye Shuyi but walked over to sit beside Huang Xin.
Huang Xin glanced at the person beside her with interest but didn’t say anything.
Ye Shuyi looked at the seemingly rebellious figure and sighed silently.
Once everyone was settled, the director prompted each guest to introduce themselves.
The girl with red hair sitting on the red sofa was a popular female rapper in the country, but she was an omega. Offstage, she had a cheerful and sweet personality, but when she stood in the spotlight, she transformed into someone cool and edgy, her rap directly captivating the hearts of her fans, making her a representative of stark contrast in their eyes.
The girl who had given Ye Shuyi her seat was Long Xiaoqin, an omega with a pure and charming appearance, giving off a neighborly sister vibe. She was currently a moderately successful actress, and sitting next to her was her manager, He Tong, a beta with a full figure who had been sizing up all the guests since they sat down.
After everyone finished their introductions, the director cheerfully appeared with a small microphone, saying, “Now that everyone knows each other, let’s assign the rooms. We have double rooms: two on the second floor and one on the third floor. The room layouts are basically similar, and we’ll decide who stays on the third floor and who on the second after we finish grouping.”
“Now, I’d like to ask everyone if you’d prefer to stay with your artist or manager?”
Ahh~ It seemed a cold breeze swept through the venue; no one spoke. All the guests didn’t even glance at each other, their eyes blankly fixed on the director.
The director made a “hiss” sound, clapping her hands together: “In that case, we’ll conduct an anonymous vote. A circle means you don’t want to, and a heart means you do. In the end, the minority will follow the majority.”
As soon as she finished speaking, a staff member brought six pens and six equally sized sheets of white paper, distributing them to each guest, and then placed a ballot box in the center of the table.
The six of them picked up their paper and pens to mark their choices. Yi Qian quickly drew a heart, folded the paper swiftly, but didn’t immediately drop it into the ballot box. Instead, she waited until Ye Shuyi placed her vote in the box before putting her own in.
Once everyone had cast their votes, the director personally took the ballot box, shaking it vigorously before opening it. She surveyed the crowd and teased, “You all seem completely unconcerned about the results. Looks like you know the answer already?”
Silence fell over the room again, with only Ye Shuyi glancing at her.
The director sighed slightly, then opened the votes.
The result showed that two people had drawn hearts, while four had drawn circles.
Seeing this outcome, the managers seemed to have an unspoken agreement, looking at their respective artists. Except for Long Xiaoqin, who smiled back at her manager He Tong, the other two completely ignored theirs.
The director took out her small microphone and said with a smile, “Since that’s the case, let’s play a game to choose our roommates, which is… ‘Touch and Identify!’”
Seeing the puzzled looks from the guests, the director cleared her throat with delight and explained, “The rules are simple: everyone will identify each other by touching their faces. If you successfully identify someone, you automatically become a pair. If no one identifies anyone, then we’ll just match up randomly. Does anyone have any objections?”
As soon as someone among the guests spoke up, the director quickly finished her sentence: “We won’t accept any objections. Thank you all for your cooperation.”
To decide who would go first, the director chose the simplest method: rock-paper-scissors. The winners of the first three rounds would be the identifiers, while the last three would be the ones to be identified.
After one round of rock-paper-scissors, the identifiers were Long Xiaoqin, Yi Qian, and Huang Xin, in that order. The three identifiers were blindfolded and stood aside, while the three being identified stood in the empty space in the living room.
The identifiers needed to identify all three of the identified guests and then choose one of them. After all identifiers had made their identifications, they would announce their chosen person’s name. If they identified correctly, they would automatically become roommates.
Before the identification began, the staff sprayed the same perfume on the three identifiers and brought in three adjustable chairs for them to sit on, adjusting them to the same height.
Long Xiaoqin was brought to the first identified guest. She let out a slight sigh of relief, glad to be the first. This way, even if someone else chose the same identified guest, as the first identifier, she could choose first, provided she identified correctly, allowing her to avoid her manager He Tong.
The first person was He Tong. After Long Xiaoqin touched her forehead, she recognized who her subordinate was, but for the sake of the show, she still carefully touched the entire face before quietly moving on to the next.
After identifying all the guests, Long Xiaoqin chose the third one and was then taken aside to wait.
Yi Qian was brought to the identified guest. Once the director gave the signal, she began her identification. She pretended to be serious as she touched the first identified guest’s face haphazardly before quickly moving to the next.
A nearby photographer aimed the camera directly at her hand, capturing her slender, pale fingers hovering momentarily in the air before slowly touching the face of the person in front of her.
Unlike her casual approach with the first person, Yi Qian’s fingertips began at the chin, carefully tracing every part of her subordinate’s face, as if she were caressing a unique treasure in the world or savoring a long-lost familiar face.
Blindfolded and unable to see the situation in front of her, if Yi Qian could see, she would notice the other person’s earlobes slowly turning red, their lips pressed together, and their doe-like eyes tightly shut, as if wanting to say something but unable to speak.
The director, holding her small microphone, kindly reminded, “This friend here, your time is up. Please move on to the next person.”
Hearing the voice, Yi Qian turned her head toward the source. Although her eyes were covered, others couldn’t see her expression, but the director inexplicably felt an unprecedented aura of intimidation emanating from beneath that black cloth.
She swallowed hard and picked up the microphone, conceding, “Well, it’s fine. We still have time; you can take your time identifying, no rush.”
She thought Yi Qian would continue identifying the second guest, but to her surprise, she moved directly to the third guest, quickly identifying the entire face and then coldly stated, “I choose the second one.”
The director: “……” There was no need to be that quick.
Huang Xin was the last to finish identifying and ultimately chose the third guest, just like Long Xiaoqin.
The director glanced at the three identified guests sitting there, a slight smile forming on her lips: “Alright, please, the three identifiers, announce the names of the people you chose, in the order of identification. First up, Long Xiaoqin.”
Long Xiaoqin slowly said, “I guess the third one is Cai Yunyoo.”
Upon hearing this, Cai Yunyoo, sitting in the third position, raised an eyebrow, looking at the blindfolded Long Xiaoqin with interest.
The staff members on site appeared shocked but didn’t show too much reaction, maintaining a mysterious atmosphere. No one noticed that after Long Xiaoqin finished her answer, Huang Xin’s lips tightened instantly.
The director held up her microphone: “Alright, let’s reveal the answers after everyone has responded. Yi Qian, please answer.”
Yi Qian curled her lips and casually said, “I guess the second one is probably, maybe, could be…”
