Jiang Huaiyan’s heart skipped a beat. He shielded Zhou Yunqiu tightly, whispering urgently into his ear, “What’s wrong? Where do you feel unwell?”

“I… I don’t know…” Zhou Yunqiu gasped for air with great difficulty, his eyes wide as he took in his surroundings.

The air was thick with the sounds of frightened chaos and various pheromones flying wildly through the space. He held his breath slightly, his elegant brows knitting together in a tight frown.

Jiang Huaiyan scanned the perimeter anxiously. Once he determined it was merely a sudden power outage rather than a deliberate attack, he scooped Zhou Yunqiu up and carried him out.

Even after they reached the exterior of the cinema, Zhou Yunqiu had yet to recover. His face was pale, a misty layer of tears clung to his curled lashes, and a fine sheen of sweat covered his full forehead.

A faint scent of lime drifted through the air and into Jiang Huaiyan’s nose. These were the unstable pheromones of an Omega.

Smelling this, Jiang Huaiyan guessed that Zhou Yunqiu had been disturbed by the chaotic pheromones inside. If he had Alpha pheromones right now, he could soothe Zhou Yunqiu.

He held him, pressing the other’s face tightly against his own neck, attempting to release a bit of Alpha pheromones to calm him down. But he tried several times to no avail. His glands completely refused to obey him, unable to release even a trace of pheromones.

Jiang Huaiyan hastily unbuckled his seatbelt and got out, lifting Zhou Yunqiu from the car and placing him by the roadside. He gently patted the other’s back. “If you need to throw up, let it out. Don’t hold it in.”

“Qiuqiu, would you like some water?” Jiang Huaiyan wiped the sweat from his brow, his heart aching.

Zhou Yunqiu shook his head. He didn’t want to drink anything; he only wanted an Alpha’s pheromones. He leaned into Jiang Huaiyan’s embrace, instinctively nuzzling into his neck, trying to draw some Alpha pheromones from him.

Zhou Yunqiu interrupted Yan Yichuan with a smile. “Mr. Yan, your family background and appearance are excellent in every way. You will find a much more suitable Omega.”

“I think we are quite suitable.”

“But I already have someone I like. I’m sorry.”

Yan Yichuan’s gaze instinctively shifted toward Jiang Huaiyan in the driver’s seat. Although their relationship hadn’t been made public, judging by the way Jiang Huaiyan had carried Zhou Yunqiu earlier, their connection was clearly not simple.
