- Chapter 37 - Wealthy World 8; It’s My Turn to Serve You Properly
Inside the office, the air conditioner worked diligently, pumping cold air into the room as if trying to extinguish the fire of the man’s rage. Unfortunately, it had no effect whatsoever.
Li Yanzhe tried his best to calm down, constantly building mental defenses for himself.
“He’s just a lover, a plaything. If he’s gone, he’s gone. It’s no big deal.”
After all, ever since his car accident, plenty of fair-weather friends had vanished from his side. Song Le’an was merely a tiny pebble in that pond, one that wouldn’t even cause a ripple. Besides, he still had Zhou Luoluo now, so whether Song Le’an existed or not shouldn’t affect him at all.
Yes, that was it.
And yet, Li Yanzhe’s fingers tightened and released several times. Finally, he couldn’t help himself and smashed the water glass next to him onto the floor.
“How dare he!”
In Li Yanzhe’s worldview, he was the only one allowed to discard Song Le’an. The idea of Song Le’an discarding him was a scenario he had never even entertained. He believed from beginning to end that he was the dominant one in the relationship; that was why he was so furious upon learning of the boy’s betrayal. It wasn’t just because of his blurred feelings for Song Le’an, but because of his pride, which allowed for no defiance from anyone.
His fingertips moved. Li Yanzhe picked up the phone on his desk and, without thinking, opened his contacts and scrolled to the “S” page. He instinctively wanted to interrogate Song Le’an, but after his finger pressed the number, he hung up directly before the first ring could sound.
Part of it was because he suddenly remembered Song Le’an’s cold attitude during the previous two calls. The other part was Li Yanzhe’s instinctive psychological avoidance. Much like how he avoided the notification that he might never stand up again after his accident, he was unwilling to accept and didn’t want to face the reality that Song Le’an had simply voided their contract and rushed off to the next benefactor.
Moreover, that benefactor was Li Yanzhe’s most hated rival in the circle: Shen Ci.
Li Yanzhe lowered his eyes. Before him, the phone screen dimmed after a long period of inactivity. The black screen clearly reflected his current expression: manic, furious, and tinged with a faint trace of resentment.
A volcano seemed to be waking up in his chest, with magma struggling to erupt. He felt as if a giant invisible hand were tearing him apart. Reason told him a plaything wasn’t worth this much anger, let alone breaking ties with the Shen family and becoming a laughingstock. But his body wanted to rush to Song Le’an and demand to know why he was so cheap, why he was looking for the next one while still by his side!
For a moment, Li Yanzhe even wondered if Song Le’an had specifically become Shen Ci’s lover just to get back at him. After all, he admitted he had neglected the boy for a long time because of Luoluo. But that reason couldn’t erase the betrayal, nor could it quell his rage.
“What’s going on here?”
A male voice at the door broke the low pressure in the room, saving the assistant who hadn’t dared to breathe while the boss was fuming.
Zhou Luoluo walked in, looking at the mess on the floor and Li Yanzhe’s grim face. With a quick glance, he concluded this had to be related to Song Le’an. It seemed that even though he had returned to Li Yanzhe’s side as quickly as possible after his rebirth, he still couldn’t stop the man from falling for a mere lover.
Zhou Luoluo’s eyes darkened. On the surface, however, he maintained a smiling facade. He waved his hand to dismiss the assistant, then slowly walked to Li Yanzhe’s side. His fingertips rested lightly on the man’s temples, massaging them gently while he asked:
“Why so much fire? Is it because Le’an still won’t come back?”
“How about I go and apologize to him?”
In Zhou Luoluo’s plan, if he softened his tone just a bit, Li Yanzhe should have unhesitatingly dropped Song Le’an and returned to his side, just as he always had before Song Le’an left. But this time, to Zhou Luoluo’s surprise, when he lowered his stance and feigned a grievance, Li Yanzhe didn’t protect him. Instead, the man was silent for a moment before asking coldly:
“Why? Do you think you’re at fault too?”
“Ah? Um,” Zhou Luoluo was stunned for a moment. Recovering, he said hesitantly: “I was only staying at your house as a guest. I really shouldn’t have touched things in the kitchen without Song Le’an’s permission.”
His words seemed like an admission of guilt, but they were actually a subtle jab. He had moved in as Li Yanzhe’s good friend, while Song Le’an was just a lover with no official status; he had no right to act like the master of the house.
It could only be said that Zhou Luoluo was a master of the Green Tea art. Unfortunately, Li Yanzhe, whose mind was entirely occupied with the fact that Song Le’an had found Shen Ci, had no time to appreciate the flavor of Zhou Luoluo’s tea. He was looking for an excuse to see Song Le’an, and Zhou Luoluo had just handed it to him.
Li Yanzhe didn’t even listen to what Zhou Luoluo said. Before the other could finish, he seized the opportunity:
“Fine. We’re going to find him right now!”
“???” Zhou Luoluo was completely floored. “Now?!”
He watched Li Yanzhe maneuver his wheelchair toward the door, unable to follow the logic. “But we still don’t know exactly where Le’an is.”
“I already know.”
At the mention of this, Li Yanzhe’s face turned cold. He only wished he had the power of time travel. If he did, he would have ignored the Shen family a week ago and ordered his men to burst into that room to drag out the money-grubbing, ungrateful boy!
Actually, Li Yanzhe wanted to do that now, but first, he had to snatch Song Le’an away from Shen Ci. Call it a man’s damnable competitive spirit: he wouldn’t allow himself to lose, especially to Shen Ci.
And so, before Zhou Luoluo could even react, he was following Li Yanzhe back to that familiar grey door.
“3601?” Zhou Luoluo glanced at the room number, his expression shocked. “Isn’t this.”
The room where they had come to catch them a week ago! So Song Le’an was inside then, and with Shen Ci. And yet Li Yanzhe was bringing him here to apologize? Why? Did he love Song Le’an so much that he didn’t care about the infidelity?
Zhou Luoluo’s fingers tightened on the handles of the wheelchair, his gaze turning somber. None of this was noticed by Li Yanzhe, who was busy ordering his bodyguards to ring the doorbell.
Before the doorbell rang, Chu Sicheng was placing an exhausted Shen Ci into a bathtub filled with warm water. The man was completely bare, his pale shoulders marked with tiny red traces like roses blooming in the snow. Beautiful, seductive, and carrying an enticing aura of eroticism.
Shen Ci never dreamed he could lose control like that in matters of passion. In the height of it, he was not only willing to be underneath, but even.
The citrus taste in his mouth refused to dissipate, much like the slick sensation that appeared on his cheek from time to time, making him want to reach out and confirm if he had truly cleaned it all off. Shen Ci instinctively brushed his cheek with the back of his hand, then looked at the boy sitting by the tub helping him clean up. Feeling the discomfort in his body, he couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.
“Who exactly is the benefactor here, me or you?”
“You are,” Chu Sicheng said casually, acting as if he didn’t notice the dissatisfaction in Shen Ci’s tone.
“Is that so?” Shen Ci caught the boy’s hand as it tried to move lower. Feeling the lingering scent in his mouth, his eyes narrowed. Coupled with his messy hair, he looked like a kitten teased into a frenzy by its owner. “Then why just now.”
Shen Ci couldn’t bring himself to finish. His good upbringing made it impossible for him to voice such shameful activities. But the more he didn’t want to say it, the more Chu Sicheng wanted to tease him into speaking.
“What happened just now?” Chu Sicheng feigned ignorance, blinking his almond eyes innocently. “Hm? Boss, why aren’t you talking? What happened just now?”
The boy leaned in, bringing that faint orange scent close to Shen Ci in the tub. The hand submerged in the water, which Shen Ci had caught, turned the tables by sliding into the man’s fingers, one by one, a slow, deliberate movement nearly identical to how he had tormented Shen Ci earlier.
It was enough to make Shen Ci vividly remember how the boy had made him feel, clearly and thoroughly, exactly how he had accepted him. Slow and flirtatious. Full and aching. It was utterly wicked, yet uncontrollably addictive.
“You,” Shen Ci instinctively wanted to bite his lip again.
But this time, before he could apply pressure, a damp finger was inserted between his lips.
“Bite me instead,” he heard the boy say. “Don’t torture yourself.”
“I know,” Chu Sicheng rubbed Shen Ci’s swollen lips. “Is it because Boss feels like you were the one serving me just now, so you feel a bit unbalanced?”
” ”
Shen Ci said nothing, only silently feeling how that finger toyed with the tip of his tongue, exploring every part of his mouth, much like how he had carefully softened him earlier.
“It’s okay.”
The boy slowly withdrew his finger while his other hand broke free from Shen Ci’s grip and moved lower. Lips replaced fingers. Fingertips replaced the flow of water. Teeth nipped at the soft earlobe as a flirtatious voice fell:
“Now, it’s my turn to serve you properly, alright?”
Alright. Shen Ci moved his lips wordlessly, wanting to speak.
However, just then, Ding-dong!
As if a scene from a week ago were replaying, the door to 3601 was rung once again.
