When I Woke Up, I Had Three Romantic Partners - Chapter 22
Hearing this, Luo Wanshuang was even more touched, almost moved to tears. Her idol was truly wonderful; she was worthy of being the person Luo Wanshuang had followed for so many years!
“Idol, I will definitely look up to you!”
Chi Jinqing gave a bitter smile and whispered, “Look up to me for what? I’m just an ordinary person. It’s your affection that makes me shine. But when that aura fades, I’m still Chi Jinqing, someone who could be thrown into a crowd and be recognized by no one.”
Luo Wanshuang hugged the box, shook her head, and said earnestly, “Even if you are ordinary, you are still my idol, the light and heat I pursue.”
“As long as I like you for one day, you will be shining for one day. Even if the day comes when I stop being a fan, you will always be the destination buried in my heart.”
Chi Jinqing rubbed her head, feeling a little emotional inside. As someone who didn’t follow celebrities, this was the first time she had felt that pure passion from a fan for their idol.
“Thank you.”
The voice just left her lips before it turned into a choke. This was the second time she had felt such unadulterated passion. The first person who made her feel she understood emotions was Si Jiamo, but later she lost her.
The second was Luo Wanshuang.
Although the feelings they brought her were different, they both warmed her equally.
She felt that the reason her twenty-six-year-old self could persist in the entertainment industry for so long was probably also due to the affection of these young people.
Chi Jinqing’s eyes were slightly red as she offered a blessing, “You will definitely reach the pinnacle. Then it will be my turn to look up to you.”
“Then Idol will certainly be ahead of me.”
Luo Wanshuang didn’t doubt Chi Jinqing at all. On the contrary, her confidence in Chi Jinqing was almost blind. She believed that the only reason Chi Jinqing wasn’t famous yet was that the time hadn’t come. When the time arrived, Chi Jinqing would soar like an eagle, be reborn like a phoenix, and illuminate the eyes of the world.
At that time, she would still be her fan, and she would still proudly tell everyone that she was Chi Jinqing’s fan, a little koi led into the industry by her diligence and hard work.
“Jinqing, time to go.”
Su Yunhui, who had come to pick her up, leaned against the wall in a sharp, professional outfit, a lit slender cigarette in her mouth, looking free-spirited yet shrewd.
Hearing the voice, Chi Jinqing turned around. She hadn’t met Su Yunhui yet and was surprised to find her to be this kind of person.
Fiery red lips, semi-long flowing hair, narrow fox eyes paired with gold-rimmed glasses, a subtle black beauty mark on her upper eyelid, a high nose bridge, and slightly thin lips holding the slender cigarette. Seeing Chi Jinqing look over, she removed the cigarette with her fingers and slowly exhaled a plume of white smoke.
Su Yunhui wore a white suit, with the top two buttons of her shirt casually undone, highlighting her curvy figure, and she was wearing five-centimeter stiletto heels.
Recovering from her daze, Chi Jinqing withdrew her hand and said to Luo Wanshuang, “I have to go.”
She nodded apologetically to Luo Wanshuang, then headed towards Su Yunhui.
Luo Wanshuang glanced at Su Yunhui—the legendary golden manager. With someone like this leading the way, Chi Jinqing would surely take off.
She raised her arm and waved at Chi Jinqing’s retreating back, shouting, “Idol, you need to believe in yourself more! You can do it!”
Chi Jinqing’s forward movement paused for a moment. Then, without turning her head, she waved her hand and replied, “You too.”
Su Yunhui glanced at Luo Wanshuang, then withdrew her gaze, her slightly husky voice calm. “Pack your things. Are you going to sleep in the RV or a hotel?”
Chi Jinqing was first confused, then shocked. “You… what did you say?”
Su Yunhui leaned against the staircase, continuing to puff smoke. “Today is the last day of shooting. You don’t have to force yourself to sleep in the same room as her. I can take you to a hotel to get a room. You just need to come back tomorrow morning to shoot the exit scene.”
Chi Jinqing replied, “There’s no forcing involved. Since this is my job, how can I let personal feelings affect the shoot?”
Su Yunhui’s expression was cold. “So you still want to sleep with her?”
Chi Jinqing didn’t want to discuss this topic. “That’s not what I mean…”
Before Chi Jinqing could explain, Su Yunhui’s eyes darkened. She suddenly put the cigarette away and, in the corner, pressed Chi Jinqing against the wall. She leaned in, intending to kiss Chi Jinqing, but Chi Jinqing’s eyes widened, and in the next moment, she placed her hands on Su Yunhui’s chest and turned her head away.
Su Yunhui’s lips, smelling of minty smoke, stopped just short of Chi Jinqing’s mouth. She didn’t press on with the action. Her gaze shifted to Si Jiamo, who had just opened the room door. Their eyes met, and the anger in Si Jiamo’s eyes visibly surged.
Su Yunhui’s mouth curled into a slight smile. In front of Si Jiamo, she lightly pecked Chi Jinqing on the cheek, then was immediately pushed away by Chi Jinqing, who hadn’t noticed Si Jiamo. Chi Jinqing fiercely wiped the lipstick stain off her face and frowned coldly. “Our agreement didn’t say I had to go this far, Su Yunhui. Please get things straight.”
Su Yunhui looked at Si Jiamo and said nonchalantly, “We’ve known each other for so many years. You suddenly bring this up; how heartbroken I am.”
She took a drag of her cigarette, slowly exhaled white smoke, and looked at Si Jiamo provocatively. “Isn’t that right, Jiamo?”
Chi Jinqing’s body stiffened. Her head slowly turned in the direction Su Yunhui was looking. Si Jiamo was standing by the door handle, watching them expressionlessly. Her eyes were filled with anger, disappointment, sadness, and a hint of vulnerability that was hard to detect.
“I… we…”
Chi Jinqing wanted to explain her relationship with Su Yunhui, but the words caught in her throat. She wanted to say that things weren’t like that, that her relationship with Su Yunhui wasn’t that ambiguous.
She was innocent with her. After reading her twenty-six-year-old self’s diaries for so long, she knew she hadn’t done anything to betray Si Jiamo.
Su Yunhui, however, didn’t care. Leaning on the stair railing, she said slowly, “Why explain to her? Your contract is over. Now, what you should be considering is when to change my contract.”
Si Jiamo clenched her back molars. The instant she saw Su Yunhui pressing Chi Jinqing against the wall, she wanted to rush up and pull them apart. But she saw that Chi Jinqing wasn’t struggling, so she waited, waiting for Chi Jinqing to break free and explain the situation herself.
Yet, Chi Jinqing didn’t say a word until Su Yunhui kissed her.
The moment Si Jiamo saw the lipstick mark appear on Chi Jinqing’s face, her mind went blank. Nothing else seemed to exist in her eyes but the glaring red mark on Chi Jinqing’s face.
“She’s right. You don’t need to explain anything to me.”
Si Jiamo didn’t even know what she was saying. For a moment, she couldn’t hear what Su Yunhui was saying.
Chi Jinqing: “…”
Chi Jinqing offered a self-deprecating smile. Right, what was she hoping for?
Hadn’t she abandoned Si Jiamo in the same way back then?
It was normal for the other party to abandon her now. Why should she listen to her explanation?
Si Jiamo lowered her eyes. “You are truly filthy.”
Chi Jinqing: “…”
Hearing this, Chi Jinqing’s heart clenched tightly, a sharp pain coursing through her. She felt like she could hear the sound of shattering glass, and she had a strong feeling that something inside her heart had broken.
The warmth around her seemed to vanish instantly. She felt as though she had fallen into an ice cave, a chill rising from her feet, spreading all the way to her heart, leaving her without any strength or ability to react.
So, in Si Jiamo’s eyes, this was the kind of person she was.
She was filthy…
Si Jiamo thought she was filthy…
“I suddenly have some regrets.”
Si Jiamo’s words became increasingly hurtful. “How could I repeatedly fall for someone as unscrupulous as you?”
“Thankfully, we have no relationship now.”
“Bang!”
With that, the door was violently slammed shut, the sound loud enough for the whole building to hear. Luo Wanshuang, who had returned to her room, came back out upon hearing the noise. She looked with bewildered eyes at the downcast Chi Jinqing and the still-unfazed Su Yunhui.
Feng Yan, who had followed out for fear that Luo Wanshuang might get accidentally hurt, roughly understood what was happening. This situation wasn’t right. Coupled with the previous attitudes of Si Jiamo and Chi Jinqing, her slightly suspicious gaze fell on the silently standing Chi Jinqing.
“Ido…”
Luo Wanshuang was just about to speak when Feng Yan covered her mouth. Feng Yan smiled and nodded at Su Yunhui, then dragged Luo Wanshuang back into the room.
“Mmmph!”
Luo Wanshuang unhappily tried to remove Feng Yan’s hand. What was she doing? She thought her idol looked very unhappy just now, and she needed to ask what was going on.
Feng Yan locked the door and knew exactly what Luo Wanshuang intended to do. “Don’t go. The situation now will only get more complicated if you go. You wouldn’t understand.”
Finally freed from the hand over her mouth, Luo Wanshuang still hadn’t figured out what had happened or why she had been dragged back like this.
Feng Yan pressed her down onto the bed to lie down, while she sat on the edge of the bed to prevent Luo Wanshuang from getting up. She rubbed her throbbing temples and whispered, “You’re still a child. You don’t understand the adult world.”
Luo Wanshuang pouted. “I’m already an adult; I’ve come of age. Don’t treat me like a child.”
Feng Yan affectionately patted her head, saying nothing more.
On the other side, Ou Nannan and Lao Shi, startled by the noise, hesitated whether to go check, but once at the door, the question of who should open the door and who should show their face first stumped them.
No matter who was outside, they couldn’t afford to offend them.
Whoever showed their face first, whoever was seen, would have to bear the responsibility.
The two stared at each other for a long time, but ultimately, neither of them opened the door.
Ou Nannan nudged her. “You go.”
Lao Shi refused, she wasn’t stupid. “You go.”
In the end, the two of them lay back down on the bed. Not prying into things was a self-awareness necessary to survive in the industry.
After the two women stood for a long time, Chi Jinqing raised her head and looked at Su Yunhui, her eyes dark and unclear. “You did that on purpose.”
Su Yunhui’s expression was half-smiling, half-not. “Otherwise?”
“You and her are all lovey-dovey and affectionate on the show, with your CP flying everywhere. Why, am I not allowed to use a few little tricks?”
