Seeing her, Chu Qinghan’s eyes lit up. “Yan Jiang, are you here to read, too?”
Yan held the book in front of her, her tone calm. “To return a book.”
Chu Qinghan glanced at the title and immediately fell silent.
Yan returned the book, paid the fine, and started to leave. Chu Qinghan grabbed her sleeve just outside the library door.
“Do you really think liking the same sex is an illness?”
She asked so sincerely that Yan almost felt bad refuting her.

Chu Qinghan’s expression shifted slightly, but her tone was firm: “I have never thought that.”
Yan suddenly smiled, the corners of her lips turning up, her eyes slightly narrowed. “I thought Senior hated homosexuals. Otherwise, why would you humiliate me like that in front of so many people?”
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I said that at the time because you were fighting with someone else. I didn’t want you to fight for my sake.”
Chu Qinghan spoke earnestly, but Yan didn’t take her words to heart. Seeing more and more people passing by, her tone turned cold: “Alright, I understand. If Senior has nothing else, I’ll be going now.”
Chu Qinghan was still holding her sleeve, showing no intention of letting go. Yan sharply swatted her hand away, her voice colder than before. “Has anyone ever told you that you are annoying?”
Chu Qinghan’s face lost all color. She stood rooted to the spot, watching Yan walk away, helpless.
