What to Do If the White Moonlight Omega Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 9
Cha Yuxuan returned to the dormitory accompanied by the chirping of cicadas on a summer night after the rain.
The campus of Q University had a century of history. Old trees shaded the roadsides, flowers and grass grew thick, and the lake waters rippled beautifully. The slightly vintage yellow glow of the streetlamps on the sidewalk created a wonderful atmosphere.
The air after a summer rain was exceptionally fresh. The scenery, like a hidden paradise, provided a stunning backdrop for their soaring moods. They giggled and played all the way back, taking many photos along the way.
“Beep; entry successful.”
As per routine, card swiping was required at the dormitory entrance to facilitate the management of curfews and other matters.
Jiang Xiaoping was a bit dazed from all the fun. “Which floor do we live on again?”
Bai Hang was busy filtering photos in her album, while Yan Na thought for a moment but could not remember.
Cha Yuxuan glanced at them. “The fifth floor; the room on the west side, 519.”
Jiang Xiaoping nodded as if waking from a dream. “Oh, right.”
Yan Na let out a wail. “The fifth floor, and there is no elevator.”
Bai Hang looked up belatedly. “That is true.”
Cha Yuxuan patted her pocket. “Did you guys bring your keys?”
“We did.”
This time the answer was quite synchronized; everyone had brought their keys. Cha Yuxuan made an OK gesture, feeling they had everything under control.
As they walked, Bai Hang suddenly checked her phone. “At eight-thirty tomorrow morning, everyone must gather at the Student Hall for the freshman convocation. Absence without a valid reason is not allowed. Here is the seating arrangement for our college. At-all members.”
Ding-dong; another announcement followed immediately.
Cha Yuxuan saw it just in time. “At two-thirty tomorrow afternoon, a freshman grade meeting will be held in the lecture hall of the School of Architecture. This concerns everyone’s four-year training plan, so please be sure to arrive on time. At-all members.”
For new students, the announcements were never-ending and there were many things to do.
Yan Na wiped away some sweat. “By the way, where is our college building?”
Cha Yuxuan and Bai Hang thought for a moment. “I do not know.”
Jiang Xiaoping blinked. “I have been over there and I know what the building looks like, but I am a total klutz with directions, so do not count on me to lead you there.”
Bai Hang opened the door and Cha Yuxuan followed her inside. “It is fine. Everyone must be in the same boat. Let us rest for a bit first and talk about it later.”
“Mhm.”
The four entered one after another.
The undergraduate dormitories at Q University were four-person rooms with bunk beds over desks, private bathrooms, and air conditioning. Aside from the thoughtful decor like solid wood furniture, warm lighting, and non-slip floors, it was not much different from other schools.
Girls usually have many belongings. When they first arrived, the dormitory floor was piled high with parcels and boxes. Fortunately, they had finished tidying up during the day, otherwise they would not have known when they could finally sleep after returning so late.
Cha Yuxuan still had one bed curtain left to hang. She had only arrived at the dorm in the afternoon, so she had been a bit pressed for time.
Yan Na closed the window and turned on the air conditioner. “I will set it to 26 degrees with strong wind for now. If it gets too cold, anyone can adjust it; the remote is right here.”
Cha Yuxuan plugged her phone in to charge and stretched. “OK, OK. Who wants to shower first? I will probably wait a while, so we do not clash on timing.”
Bai Hang looked around. Jiang Xiaoping had just picked up her tablet and looked unlikely to shower anytime soon. Yan Na went to get a glass of water and looked at everyone. “I am fine either way.”
“I will go first then.”
Bai Hang tidied her desk, opened the wardrobe to grab a set of pajamas, and went into the bathroom.
Cha Yuxuan kicked off her shoes, took the bag containing the curtains, and climbed up the ladder. She planned to hang them before showering.
Jiang Xiaoping had just heard some inside news and found the WeChat ID for the school’s Confession Wall. She waved her phone. “Hey everyone, I have the WeChat for the Confession Wall. Do you want it?”
Yan Na quickly grabbed her phone and came over. “Let me see. Is it for our school?”
Jiang Xiaoping opened the wall administrator’s Moments to look with her. “Yes, of course it is for our school. I just glanced at the Moments; the posting frequency is quite high.”
“Wow, isn’t this our Cos? She made it onto the wall on the very first day. Not bad at all.”
The two looked through the photos one by one. By chance, they saw a familiar face; Cha Yuxuan was featured there.
Cha Yuxuan was kneeling on her bed, holding a string to tie a corner of the curtain to the bracket. Having tied that side, she heard her roommates calling her and looked over curiously. “What?”
Jiang Xiaoping swiped to the side. On the next page, Yan Qingran appeared. “Oh my, Senior Yan is right there too. Both of you are on the wall, and the submission order happens to be right next to each other. Tsk, tsk.”
Yan Qingran?
Cha Yuxuan let go of the curtain and slid down from the bed instantly. “Where is the Senior? Let me see.”
Three heads huddled together to look at the phone was a tight squeeze. Jiang Xiaoping raised the phone higher and pushed her away. “It is just a profile shot. Did you not see her in person today? What is so interesting about a photo?”
Cha Yuxuan blinked. “How is that the same? During the day, I was looking at her openly. Now I am looking at a candid perspective from someone else; it is a fresh feeling.”
Jiang Xiaoping thought about it and found it logical. “I will push the Confession Wall’s business card to the group; you can check it out yourselves.”
Yan Na returned to her seat with her phone. “Alright.”
A ding sounded.
Group Chat 519 JXP: I recommended a contact: Q University Confession Wall.
Cha Yuxuan clicked in to look. There were posts for lost items, self-introductions to find partners, people looking to identify strangers, and people confessing their feelings.
The screenshot of her was exactly at P7. “Hello Wall Admin, can you help me find someone? Keep the avatar and name strictly anonymous, thank you. [Image]”
P8 was her photo. The pixels were very blurry, and her features were not even clear, but those long legs and snow-white skin did not lie. Overall, she looked quite like a beauty.
Yan Qingran’s was P9. “Admin, it is the first day of school. As per tradition, I am confessing to our Goddess of the Architecture Department. Attached is a beautiful photo. [Image]” “Wishing the Wall Admin a semester that brings even more lovers together. Thank you for your hard work! No need for anonymity, thanks.”
Cha Yuxuan flipped to the next photo. It was a 180-degree high-definition profile shot that hit like a beauty strike. It was a photo of Yan Qingran sitting at the table waiting for freshmen to register. The lighting under the tent was a bit poor, but covered in a layer of shadow, she seemed even more dazzling.
The photographer’s skill was excellent, Cha Yuxuan noted to herself as she saved the photo to her phone. By comparison, Cha Yuxuan felt that her own photo looked like it had been taken with an ancient brick phone.
The comment section below was completely open. Even though they were not friends, everyone could see each other’s comments.
[Tsk, P9 is back. The high-definition photos every month are never the same.] [Architecture student passing by, adding a comment to support our Goddess.]
P9 is back?
Cha Yuxuan thought it over. It must be a persistent pursuer of Yan Qingran. For a beauty of the Senior’s caliber, having such a pursuer was quite normal.
[P7 is an architecture freshman, attribute unknown, but looks like an Alpha.] Reply 1: “Good heavens, another one from Architecture.” Reply 2: “Good heavens, another Alpha.” Reply 3: “Good heavens, another… Sorry, her shoes are really distracting me.” Reply 4: “Agreed with the above.”
Cha Yuxuan stared at the black and red high-top sneakers in her shoe rack. Weren’t these shoes supposed to be everywhere? She had only bought a pair to follow the trend. They were comfortable to wear and easy to match. Oh well, she would just wear them less in the future.
There was nothing else to see, so she put her phone back on the desk and went back up to hang the curtains.
By the time the curtains were almost done, Bai Hang had finished her shower. She was wearing a strappy nightgown and looked quite refreshed. She carried her hair dryer to her seat and checked her phone. “We ate with the Goddess today but did not manage to take a group photo. Now we cannot even post to our Moments.”
“Yeah,” Jiang Xiaoping rubbed her face. “The Senior’s aura is too strong. I was nervous the whole time. If it were not for Nana at the end, I would have forgotten to ask for her contact information.”
Yan Na turned around to join the conversation. “Honestly, I think the Senior is quite easy to get along with; her face just looks like someone you should not mess with.”
“Exactly, exactly.”
Cha Yuxuan felt that it was mainly because Yan Qingran was too beautiful and dressed very formally, which made them feel nervous. Most of it was simply because she was too pretty; beauty really was the cause of all the trouble.
Bai Hang looked up from her phone and stared curiously at Cha Yuxuan. “By the way, Cos, how did you get to know the Senior anyway?”
In an instant, three pairs of eyes were fixed on Cha Yuxuan. They were all very curious.
Cha Yuxuan paced a little on the spot while clutching her phone. Her hand dropped as she spoke. “Actually, it is not like there is anything I cannot tell you.”
