What to do if I've locked myself in a book! - Chapter 21
Ling Qianqian and Bai Yiyan moved into the Cheng family villa, a small house about one kilometer from the Cheng family estate. The surroundings were quiet and pleasant. Aside from not being able to go out, their range of activity was still fairly wide. The meticulously trimmed garden offered a place for rest, and food and drink were fully provided. The house had many rooms—Ling Qianqian slept on the third floor, Bai Yiyan on the second. They worked, discussed, chatted, and entertained together. Meals were delivered daily by a dedicated staff, making it feel like a paradise hidden from the world.
Ling Qianqian had subtly tested Bai Yiyan, trying to see if he knew Ji Shi or Luo Qian, but he seemed to have no memory of these people. In reality, Bai Yiyan did know these two men, which indicated that this Bai Yiyan was not the same as the real one.
But this only made her more troubled.
Moreover, for several consecutive days, that strange prompt had not appeared again.
One night, a week later, Ling Qianqian went to sleep as usual after turning off the lights. In the middle of the night, half-asleep, she tried to turn over but felt something heavy pressing on her body, making it hard to move.
In the darkness, she blinked through her sleepy haze and saw a man pressing her down. Startled, cold sweat broke out, and she opened her mouth to scream.
“Ah… uh!”
Before she could react further, a rough palm covered her mouth. “It’s me.”
The voice was deliberately low, and through the heavy breathing, a familiar scent of juniper filled her nose.
It was Cheng Ye!
Her eyes quickly adjusted to the dark. With her mouth covered, she blinked up at the man above her.
Those ink-black eyes, so intensely oppressive, stared at her without blinking, radiating a chilling, hair-raising coldness.
“Uh…”
She stopped struggling, not wanting to make too much noise. If anyone from the Cheng family knew Cheng Ye had come to see her at night, it would be very unfavorable for the arranged marriage.
What she didn’t know was that after that night, Su Zhixin was so frightened by Cheng Ye’s words that she told her family. The family’s reaction was unusual—they did not cancel the marriage but instead advised her to endure it. After all, it was the Su family who were more eager for the union. They needed the Cheng family’s status and influence to revive a part of their stagnant business. On the surface, the arranged marriage continued smoothly.
Cheng Ye naively thought that turning down Su Zhixin would settle everything, at least no one had bothered him that week.
But during what he thought would be a peaceful week, his dreams were filled with Ling Qianqian.
So in the middle of the night, unable to resist any longer, he finally came to her.
Seeing that she was compliant, Cheng Ye released his hand from her mouth. She glanced at the tightly closed door. Fortunately, the noise hadn’t disturbed Bai Yiyan downstairs. His bedroom was directly beneath Ling Qianqian’s. The villa’s structure was old, so loud noises would carry.
“What are you doing here? How did you get in?”
She whispered, questioning the man, trying to push him away to sit up, but he grabbed her with large hands and pressed her back into the bed.
“I came in through the front door.”
He took a set of keys from his pocket and casually tossed them onto the side cabinet. She realized they were the villa’s keys. Indeed, it was normal for the Cheng family to have keys here. Even without them, the gatekeeper would have let him in.
He bent his knees and released her from underneath, their bodies brushing and overlapping. Moonlight streamed through the maple-framed window, outlining his tall, cold silhouette. He completely overshadowed her, blocking the already weak light. His eyes, deep as black pools, appeared even darker in the shadows.
“Why are you sleeping in separate rooms from your boyfriend?”
“None of your business…”
“Is it because he can’t satisfy you? Or maybe he isn’t really your boyfriend.”
“…Uh? What nonsense are you talking about…”
“There are cameras in the living room. I saw everything. You didn’t even hug or kiss. You don’t look like a couple at all.”
“Cheng Ye… you’re such a pervert! You… were spying on us! Where else is it installed?”
“Only the living room.”
“You…”
Ling Qianqian’s heart thumped. When they first moved in, someone had indeed come to install something. At the time, they had deliberately been sent away, and since this was a Cheng family villa, they hadn’t asked much. Now she realized it was cameras.
“This is our Cheng family house. What’s wrong with monitoring our own property?”
“…You’d really do something so vile…”
“Why didn’t you say anything when you seduced me? Sleeping with me and then running off?”
“…We’re both adults, we can’t play around?”
“Like playing?”
“…Uh!”
“I’ll indulge you.”
“Let… let go… uh…”
Before she could respond, the man’s kiss sealed her mouth, his tongue forcefully probing into her, tangling with her frantic, escaping tongue.
His kiss was too intense, almost suffocating her. His heavy breaths were full of scorching, overwhelming desire.
Suddenly, he pressed down, and the hard mound at his groin was firmly pressing against her.
Her small opening was blocked through her underwear by the rigid heat. Her whole body was crushed under his weight, surrounded by his burning breath and scorching body heat. It was clear how desperate he was, as if he wanted to pour all the desire he had been holding back onto her.
Her body, soft from the kiss, was burning, her small opening wet.
Above her, his cold eyes blazed like fire, like a beast driven by lust, ready to open its bloodthirsty jaws and devour the lamb before him.
