What Should I do After Binding the Wrong System and the Female Lead comes Knocking at my Door? - Chapter 15
“Sis, I’m here to hang out again!”
Pei Yuanxi walked into her sister’s office, kicked off her high heels, and casually lay down on the sofa, swinging her long legs back and forth.
Pei Muchan sighed helplessly as she picked up the high heels that had been thrown and placed them next to the sofa.
“Do you know that you’ve been coming here too often lately? There are rumors in the company that you’re planning to quit the entertainment industry and prepare to join the company.”
“Isn’t that a good thing? I’ll show everyone what a true business genius looks like!” Pei Yuanxi said with a grin.
Pei Muchan sat down next to her sister, listened to her boast, and didn’t bother to argue. She just looked at her with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile: “You didn’t use to come to see me this often. Come on, what’s going on this time?”
Pei Yuanxi wasn’t embarrassed by being called out. She grinned and said, “Sis, I remember when you bought the house I live in now, you also bought the house next to it, right?”
Pei Muchan nodded, and Pei Yuanxi sighed dramatically, saying, “Sis, why did you even buy that one? Even if you missed me, you could have just stayed at my place, right? Now the house is just sitting there unused.”
Pei Muchan shook her head and said, “At that time, I was worried that someone with ill intentions would move in next to you, so I just bought the whole place for peace of mind. There’s no harm in having a few extra houses.”
Pei Yuanxi thought for a moment and continued, “The keys to that house are in the drawer of my room at your place. You just need to look for them, get someone to clean it up, and then air it out for a few days. After that, let Gu Qing move in.”
“Ugh…” Pei Yuanxi almost choked on her tea and quickly pretended not to understand, “Sis, what are you talking about? I was just passing by the house and remembered it, so I came to ask you about it.”
Pei Muchan gave a perfunctory nod.
“Anything else?” she asked.
Pei Yuanxi scratched her head. If she just said “no,” it would confirm that she was only here to get her sister a place for Gu Qing. That would make her seem like she was betraying her own sister!
No, she had to think of another excuse. Suddenly, an idea struck her, and she sat up, throwing her arms around Pei Muchan, saying, “Sis, you think I’m heartless? I came here mainly because of you!”
However, Pei Yuanxi made a mistake. If she had left directly, Pei Muchan wouldn’t have said anything. In fact, she would have been relieved and would have appreciated it if Pei Yuanxi didn’t bring up anything related to her relationship with Chu Qingyan.
But, as fate would have it, the door suddenly opened just as Pei Yuanxi finished her sentence.
Chu Qingyan entered, her eyes lighting up as she cheerfully greeted Pei Yuanxi, “Little sister-in-law is here!”
The two sisters froze in place, and after a long while, Pei Yuanxi pointed at herself in a daze, “Little sister-in-law? Are you calling me?”
“Who else?” Chu Qingyan smiled warmly as she sat next to Pei Yuanxi, taking her hand and sighing, “I’ve always wanted to call you that, but you know your sister, she’s been rejecting me for so many years. Only recently, after you achieved your dreams, and your sister felt reassured, did she start considering our relationship. So, it’s not that we wanted to hide it from you, but it’s just that we weren’t ready to share this uncertain relationship with you yet. Right, dear?”
Pei Muchan nodded expressionlessly as she looked at the two of them.
“Right, dear.”
Pei Yuanxi turned her head mechanically toward her sister and then back to Chu Qingyan, “D-d-dear? Are you calling you?”
“Well, didn’t expect your sister to say something so sweet, huh?”
“Hehe…” Pei Yuanxi gave an awkward laugh. “I certainly didn’t expect that.”
She had originally planned to tease her sister about her romantic life, but now, she was stuck in the middle of these two, who were shamelessly displaying their love.
But Pei Yuanxi still looked at Chu Qingyan with admiration, impressed by her ability to get her sister to say “dear.” That was no ordinary skill.
Suddenly, Pei Yuanxi remembered a question Bai Zhou had asked her and froze. Could it be that her sister is a zero?
Oh my god!
In that instant, the image of Pei Muchan completely shattered in Pei Yuanxi’s mind.
Pei Muchan, who had been silently observing her younger sister’s strange expression, finally couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up and said to both of them, “I have a meeting. Xiao Xi, stay here and chat with… your sister-in-law for a while. Let’s go eat together once I finish.”
“Ugh…”
Pei Yuanxi sucked in a sharp breath and quickly nodded, “Sis, go ahead.”
If you don’t leave now, do you know what I’ll end up imagining about you?
Watching Pei Muchan flee the room almost in a panic, Chu Qingyan chuckled, “I haven’t asked you yet, how’s your little girlfriend?”
” It’s good, it’s good.”
Pei Yuanxi wasn’t surprised that Chu Qingyan knew about Gu Qing. It was typical for her to investigate private matters about people. When it came to who Pei Muchan trusted most, it was Pei Yuanxi, herself, and then of course, Chu Qingyan.
And Chu Qingyan had never failed Pei Muchan’s trust. Being her personal assistant had its reasons, and her closeness with Pei Muchan was well-known…
Now that she thought about it, she’d always been secretly envious of her sister’s relationship with Chu Qingyan.
“Xiao Xi, you came here to ask about your sister and my relationship, right? So, how about it? Can I pass your test?”
Pei Yuanxi’s mind turned quickly. Since Chu Qingyan was now “one of their own,” there was no harm in teasing her as well. After all, these two had been flaunting their love in front of her.
“Chu Chu, you know, I’d never trust anyone with my sister except for you. I’m just glad it’s you.”
Pei Yuanxi then mischievously added, “Actually, I came to ask my sister about something, but now it seems better to ask you.”
“Chu Chu, are you an active or a passive one?”
Chu Qingyan was momentarily stunned, her gaze wandering off as she looked elsewhere. “Xiao Xi, why are you asking this?”
Pei Yuanxi sighed dramatically, “Chu Chu, you know I’ve always known that I like women, but I’ve never been in a relationship. I’m quite clueless about these things. Since I found out you and my sister are together, I thought I’d come and ask you for some advice.”
“Xiao Xi, that way of thinking is wrong!” Chu Qingyan said, clapping her hands with authority.
Pei Yuanxi was confused as she looked at her, “What do you mean?”
Chu Qingyan seriously said, “Don’t pay attention to labels like active or passive; that’s just wrong. In a relationship, it’s not about who’s in charge. It’s about what both people bring to the relationship.”
Pei Yuanxi wasn’t convinced and tried again, “So, generally speaking, Chu Chu, you…”
Are you the passive one?
But Chu Qingyan just chuckled. “Xiao Xi, you know that people often think the active person is the one in control, but I’m telling you, that’s completely wrong. The passive one is the true controller!”
Pei Yuanxi froze, “Wow, I’ve never heard that before…”
“Of course, the active person’s pleasure comes from the passive one, because the passive one provides the emotional value. The passive person can decide whether to indulge the active person, and when they do, it makes the active person happy. But it also gives the passive person a sense of fulfillment and achievement. So, the passive one gets double the pleasure!”
“For example, you know how you might tease a cat, and it gets upset and nips your hand? You get what I mean?”
“Ugh…”
Pei Yuanxi was dumbfounded, her mind whirling. Was this the kind of advanced game where the hunter ends up being the prey?
Chu Qingyan proudly smiled and said, “And, you know, only kids worry about labels like active or passive. Adults just go straight to being the ‘pillow princess’!”
Wow.
At this point, Pei Yuanxi had no more words left. She hadn’t been able to embarrass her sister and now found herself red-faced from being schooled by Chu Qingyan.
She just couldn’t stay here any longer.
Her goal had been achieved, so she had to leave and head to Gu Qing’s place to clean up the house.
Thinking of this, Pei Yuanxi quickly stood up and said to Chu Qingyan, “Chu Chu, I suddenly remembered that there’s something urgent at my studio, so I can’t stay to eat. Just let my sister know for me. I’m heading out now.”
Chu Qingyan, though a little disappointed, stood up, “I’ll walk you out.”
“No, no, I can go on my own. You go back to your business,” Pei Yuanxi said quickly, not giving Chu Qingyan a chance to respond before hastily leaving the room.
But she secretly vowed that this embarrassing defeat would be avenged, and she’d be back one day to restore her pride.
