What Bad Intentions Could a Spoiled Little Brat Possibly have? - Chapter 33
Sleeping Together Tonight
“Let’s sleep together tonight.”
Fu Zheng got into the car, and before he could even react, Cheng Huai unbuckled his own seatbelt and leaned over like he was presenting a treasure.
His movement was a bit wide; his palm brushed against Fu Zheng’s chest, and his chin nearly knocked against Fu Zheng’s shoulder.
Fu Zheng grabbed his wrist immediately, stopping his restless movements. “What are you doing?”
“I’m helping you with your seatbelt.”
As Cheng Huai spoke, he casually pulled the seatbelt from behind Fu Zheng’s shoulder and pressed it into the buckle with a “click.” Then, he gave Fu Zheng an arrogant stare, his face wearing an expression that clearly said, See? I wasn’t going to do anything.
Fu Zheng ignored him, took his hand away, and gave him a somewhat cold look. “Sit properly.”
Cheng Huai sat back sheepishly. Everything had been fine a moment ago, and he didn’t know which of Fu Zheng’s nerves he had touched this time.
Fu Zheng stepped on the accelerator and drove the car out of the parking lot.
Cheng Huai couldn’t stay still while sitting either. He shifted his hips and twisted his waist every now and then, his gaze occasionally falling on Fu Zheng’s fingers gripping the steering wheel.
Those hands were slender and powerful. Cheng Huai thought of something, and his face couldn’t help but grow hotter and hotter. He lowered his head, pretending nothing was happening as he fiddled with the sleeve rolled up at his wrist.
That previous episode had only deepened the intimate distance between the two of them. He now found it impossible to be alone in a room with Fu Zheng; as long as Fu Zheng was beside him, he felt the urge to be hands-on.
He was wearing Fu Zheng’s clothes, which were excessively oversized. Cheng Huai hadn’t wanted to go home to change; when he came out of the restroom earlier, he had casually grabbed a binder clip to pin his waistband so the pants would barely stay up.
At this moment, as he moved around, the binder clip snapped off on its own, falling into some unknown corner beneath the car seat.
Fu Zheng was on the phone and couldn’t be bothered with him right now. Cheng Huai reached down and felt around under the seat for a long time but couldn’t find it, so he eventually gave up.
“Ge, will you be going to the laboratory selection?”
Seeing Fu Zheng hang up the phone, Cheng Huai found a gap and accurately inserted a question.
Fu Zheng nodded. “I’ll be there.” His inbox was already filled with hundreds of unread resumes. The culprit behind his increased and hectic workload was currently looking at him with a face full of longing, anticipating the upcoming laboratory selection. Fu Zheng suddenly didn’t feel like talking anymore.
“Then you have to be fair and just. Don’t make things difficult for me on purpose just because of our relationship. Of course, you can’t go easy on me on purpose either.”
Cheng Huai reached out and poked Fu Zheng’s shoulder, giving him a mock warning.
Fu Zheng asked expressionlessly, “What exactly is our relationship?” He then turned to glance at Cheng Huai before quickly turning back to continue monitoring the road conditions.
Cheng Huai froze, staring at Fu Zheng for a moment. Suddenly, he gave a sly smile and said, “Of course, it’s a relationship of brotherly harmony! What else could it be?”
“Is that so?” Fu Zheng gave a cold laugh. “Cheng Huai, a brother wouldn’t help his younger brother…” Fu Zheng mouthed the last few words without making a sound, but it was enough to make Cheng Huai turn red from head to toe.
Fu Zheng spoke bluntly and frankly, as if it weren’t a big deal, but the meaning behind the words was an unspoken invitation for Cheng Huai to think a bit further.
However, before Cheng Huai could figure it out, Fu Zheng cut off his imagination. “There won’t be a next time, do you understand?”
Fu Zheng glanced at him. These words were a warning to Cheng Huai, and also a warning to himself.
Cheng Huai’s face was red, but his heart felt a surge of irritability. He said impatiently, “I know, I know! You’re such a stingy, nagging person!”
Until they reached their destination, Cheng Huai moodily refused to say a single word to Fu Zheng. Just before it was time to get out of the car, he finally realized the gravity of the situation: how was he supposed to get out of the car wearing pants that could fall off at any moment?!
Cheng Huai sat in the passenger seat, refusing to get out, stuttering and being vague. Fu Zheng thought he was up to some new mischief, so he had no choice but to walk around, open the car door, unbuckle his seatbelt, and pull him directly out of the car.
“Ge, Ge, Ge…!” Cheng Huai’s resistance was futile. With one move, Fu Zheng hauled him out of the car. He had no choice but to hold his pants up with both hands, looking around the parking lot like a thief. He didn’t see anyone else.
Cheng Huai breathed a sigh of relief and said, “The pants are too loose, they keep falling down…”
Fu Zheng asked helplessly, “Why didn’t you say so earlier?”
Cheng Huai rubbed his nose. “I didn’t have time.”
“Stand still.” Fu Zheng frowned. With a “bang,” he shut the car door. He gripped Cheng Huai’s waist with both hands, easily pinning him against the car door. One hand reached under the hem of his shirt to find the waistband and help him hold it up, while the other hand paused at his own waist. Then, with a light click of the belt buckle and a “shua” sound, the black leather belt was pulled out sharply.
The sequence of movements was smooth and fluid; Fu Zheng didn’t even blink.
Cheng Huai’s eyes widened. His Adam’s apple bobbed; he felt his legs go weak involuntarily.
Fu Zheng looped the belt through his waistband and silently helped him fasten it before saying, “My clothes don’t fit you well. After we eat, I’ll take you to buy new ones.”
“Can’t they be custom-made anymore?” Cheng Huai asked instinctively. In the past, his new clothes every year were specially commissioned from a tailor by his brother. After Fu Zheng left, no one custom-made clothes for him anymore. Ready-to-wear clothes were always slightly off either the waist was too loose or the hips were too narrow.
He hadn’t worn a new custom-made outfit in several years.
Thinking of this, Cheng Huai felt a sense of grievance in his heart and couldn’t help but sniffle.
The parking lot was deserted, with only the occasional sound of conversation mixed with the clinking of metal coming from this corner. Fu Zheng’s heart was in a mess from his antics; he just ruffled his hair and said, “There isn’t enough time.”
“Okay…” Cheng Huai thought he meant there wasn’t enough time today, so he didn’t think much of it.
The place for crawfish was very crowded. Cheng Huai hadn’t been to such a crowded place in a long time and couldn’t help but feel a bit excited.
But seeing the constant gazes falling on Fu Zheng in the shop, his excitement instantly vanished. What kind of lapse in judgment made him insist on coming here to eat crawfish?!
Fu Zheng led the way in front, completely failing to see the increasingly resentful eyes behind him.
Why does he have to be so handsome? Just one look at his face makes people fall in love at first sight! Why does he have to be so tall? I can’t even block him! Why does his body have to be so good? Those broad shoulders, narrow waist, and lean muscles does he have to give people that kind of room for imagination, making it impossible for people not to know how powerful he is?!
Cheng Huai was furious. After catching the twelfth table staring at Fu Zheng, he resolutely stepped forward, grabbed his brother’s hand, and then glared back fiercely at those eyes.
Fu Zheng didn’t understand why. In public, he didn’t want Cheng Huai to be like this. After a moment of hesitation, he still didn’t pull away; he just reached out with his other hand to grip Cheng Huai’s wrist, pulled him by the shoulder to stand in front of him, and asked in a low voice, “Do you think it’s too noisy? This place is quite authentic, but there are no private rooms. If you don’t like it, we can change locations, or pack it up and eat at home.”
Cheng Huai shook his head. It was already tiring enough for Fu Zheng to wait on him; he didn’t want Fu Zheng to toss and turn back and forth over these small matters.
“Let’s just stay here.” Cheng Huai pointed to an empty table not far away. Only that table was against the wall, with only one other table nearby.
After noticing the gazes from Fu Zheng and Cheng Huai, the few young girls at the neighboring table immediately became boisterous. They were pushing and shoving each other; their little thoughts could be seen through at a single glance.
With a dark face, Cheng Huai pushed Fu Zheng into the seat against the wall, while he himself sat boldly in the same row as Fu Zheng, attempting to block the view from the neighboring table.
When ordering, Fu Zheng didn’t let Cheng Huai interfere. Anyway, Cheng Huai was too lazy to care. Fu Zheng knew better than he did what he could and couldn’t eat. So, while Fu Zheng was ordering, he devoted all his energy to outwitting the neighboring table.
He didn’t want others looking at his brother. Cheng Huai pulled the corners of his mouth flat.
Upon receiving the 59th gaze from the neighboring table, Cheng Huai’s restrained temper finally exploded, and he turned to glare at them once more.
As it turned out, that glare actually made the other party excited.
The two young girls sitting in the row adjacent to Cheng Huai saw his angry gaze and let out low-pitched screams of excitement: “Did you see that? Did you see that? He looked at me! He’s so handsome, ahhh!”
The lowered voices reached Cheng Huai’s ears clearly.
Cheng Huai: “?”
Fu Zheng was talking in a low voice with the waiter, informing him of each of Cheng Huai’s dietary restrictions. Then, he patiently cleaned the utensils, not noticing the small interlude over here.
As long as they aren’t looking at Fu Zheng. Cheng Huai felt relieved and leaned closer to Fu Zheng. Their thighs were pressed tightly together. A cup of water was handed to him, and he took two sips directly from Fu Zheng’s hand.
The people at the next table were currently very excited, discussing how to go up and strike up a conversation to ask for contact information in a way that seemed more natural. They hadn’t expected to be startled by the sudden intimacy between these two.
So they’re a gay couple!!!
Suddenly, they felt it was even better to ship them!!!
The crawfish were served quickly.
Looking at the two basins of crawfish in front of him both prepared non-spicy according to his taste, without the seasonings he disliked Cheng Huai rolled up his sleeves, eager to reach out and grab one.
Fu Zheng was quick-eyed and quick-handed, grabbing his wrist. “Don’t touch.”
Cheng Huai said, “I want to suck [the juices].”
Fu Zheng refused him. “No. When your stomach feels uncomfortable later, you’ll start a fuss with me again.”
When it came to eating, Fu Zheng was even more autocratic than Cheng Huai imagined.
Cheng Huai had no choice but to give up. In any case, he had long since grown accustomed to Fu Zheng peeling shrimp for him. Even if he couldn’t suck the juices from the crawfish, so what? He only ate the shrimp that Fu Zheng peeled.
Fu Zheng quickly peeled a plate of shrimp and pushed it in front of Cheng Huai. “Eat.”
Cheng Huai ate silently. After just a couple of bites, he put down his chopsticks.
It wasn’t as delicious as what his brother made.
He really still couldn’t get used to food made by anyone other than Fu Zheng. Even if the dish was something he loved, his appetite had become extremely picky under Fu Zheng’s day-to-day cultivation.
Seeing him put them down after only two bites, Fu Zheng asked, “What’s wrong?”
Cheng Huai had insisted on dragging the man out to eat, so he felt embarrassed to say he didn’t want to eat anymore. He pushed the plate toward Fu Zheng and said, “I’m full. You eat.”
Fu Zheng looked at him, lost in thought. “Eat a few more bites. Cheng Huai, I can’t cook for you for the rest of your life. If I’m not here in the future, what will you do? Are you going to starve yourself to death?”
“What do you mean ‘if you’re not here’?” Cheng Huai couldn’t stand those words and turned his face around in disbelief.
He had heard those words twice in a single day, and a faint, bad premonition flickered in his heart. He quickly chased that feeling away.
His brother had rarely been so accommodating to him these past two days; he must have misinterpreted it.
Sure enough, Fu Zheng’s words washed away his worries: “What, are you not going to go to school or work in the future?”
Without even thinking, Cheng Huai retorted, “Of course I’m going to school and working! The world is so big; of course I want to go and see it properly!”
Fu Zheng didn’t speak, nor did he force him to eat things he didn’t want to. He took off his gloves and finished the leftovers Cheng Huai hadn’t eaten before saying something out of the blue: “Good.”
Cheng Huai asked, “What’s good?”
Fu Zheng looked at him. “Go see the world outside.” He paused and said again, “Good.”
Cheng Huai blinked. “Weirdo.”
After paying the bill, the two left, and Fu Zheng took him shopping.
Cheng Huai went wild, nearly emptying the luxury stores in the mall. He bought many things he wouldn’t use or wear, temporarily leaving them at the shops for Zhou Yuan to pick up the next day.
Cheng Huai didn’t even blink while buying so many things, but in the end, he started hesitating between two watch designs.
Fu Zheng stood not far away taking a phone call. Following his gaze, there was Cheng Huai, sitting in the selection area with a serious look, though his eyebrows were tangled in frustration.
Fu Zheng hadn’t changed that watch of his for a long time; he wanted to buy a new one for Fu Zheng.
But the two styles of watches before him each had their pros and cons, and he couldn’t say he particularly liked either.
“Are there any other styles?” Cheng Huai asked.
The sales assistant noticed the man standing not far away, whose gaze was constantly fixed on Cheng Huai. She assessed the purchasing power of the two and finally prepared to bring out the heavy hitter: “There are. The store recently received some limited editions. I’m not sure if the price is within your acceptable range.”
Cheng Huai said, “Price isn’t an issue. I want to see them.”
The sales assistant’s face lit up instantly. “Please wait a moment.” She stepped away for two minutes and then came back in a hurry, handing the watch in its case to Cheng Huai.
Cheng Huai’s eyes lit up. He took the watch out and tried it on his own wrist. “This is the one.”
His gaze circled the store, found the man still on the phone not far away, smiled, pointed, and said, “Swipe his card.”
Fu Zheng hadn’t finished his call. His gaze met Cheng Huai’s for a second, and without waiting for the sales assistant to call him over, he walked over and handed over the card.
Cheng Huai stood on his tiptoes, helped Fu Zheng switch his phone to the other ear, then took the watch Fu Zheng was wearing off his wrist and replaced it with the newly selected one.
Fu Zheng raised an eyebrow and hung up the phone.
Looking at the card and the receipt handed over by the assistant, he counted the six zeros at the end.
Cheng Huai asked with a smile, “Ge, do you like the gift I gave you?”
“Yes, I like it.” Fu Zheng couldn’t help but ruffle Cheng Huai’s hair.
Taking his money to buy him such an expensive gift Cheng Huai was so generous with him that Fu Zheng didn’t know whether to be happy or unhappy.
After wandering for a long time, Cheng Huai was tired. Once the elevator reached the underground parking lot, he didn’t want to take another step. He jumped directly into Fu Zheng’s arms, letting Fu Zheng carry him over.
Cheng Huai put his arms around Fu Zheng’s neck and began to feel drowsy.
Fu Zheng’s embrace was too warm. Taking advantage of the situation, he asked in a daze, “Ge, can I sleep with you tonight?”
He missed Fu Zheng’s embrace too much. In the past, he used to wake up in Fu Zheng’s arms every morning, seeing Fu Zheng’s face as soon as he opened his eyes. It had been a long time since he’d had that feeling.
He didn’t hear Fu Zheng’s answer even as they reached the car. Cheng Huai began to struggle and make a fuss again, only then hearing Fu Zheng’s deep voice say:
“Mm, you can. We’ll sleep together tonight.”
