Wanxi Rebirth - Chapter 52
Yue Tingxi wasn’t hearing strange requests from Miss Qin for the first time.
But the word “revenge” still jolted her awake, and she blurted out, “Huh? Revenge for what?”
She remembered that after leaving the Iris Whale illusion, she had clearly told Qin Suoliu that the matters of their past lives were behind her. If Miss Qin intended to make amends, she would accept it, but she had no intention of punishing anyone.
At that time, Qin Suoliu had once again proposed to “do something to vent my anger at you,” but Tingxi had been too annoyed and had directly sent her away… though in the end, she hadn’t actually chased her off, letting her stroke her tail and coax her to sleep.
Thinking of this, she heard Qin Suoliu explain: “Anything that can make Sister Tingxi feel better in her heart, anything goes.”
As expected, it was that line again!
Yue Tingxi furrowed her brows, opening her mouth to refuse once more, but then thought: constantly refusing wouldn’t solve anything.
She was well aware of Qin Suoliu’s persistence. If she refused this time, the next time, she would insist again.
And perhaps between them, a sort of “revenge” was indeed necessary. She was no saint, and the experiences of her past life were deeply personal, impossible to fully reconcile with.
Now, Qin Suoliu had once again handed the blade to her. Those words not only helped her vent her dissatisfaction but also hinted—“Doing this will also make me feel better.”
Realizing this, Yue Tingxi no longer hesitated.
She transformed into her massive demon form, swallowing Qin Suoliu into her inner chamber, then activated the talisman stone gifted by the people of Qingyu Mountain, transporting them both back to the Tribulation Site before releasing her.
“Then draw your blades—don’t hold back,” Yue Tingxi said, summoning her Black Crane Whip. “My current cultivation is higher than yours. If you don’t go all out, you’ll just get yourself killed.”
No longer within the confines of the Kaizi Ice Wheel illusion, injuries and poison in reality hurt all the same.
As this was revenge, she set aside all warnings, leapt into the air, and swung her whip at Qin Suoliu. The scale-like surface bristled, forming sharp blades. Colorless poisonous mist spread around.
Feeling the pressure rushing at her, Qin Suoliu drew her swords, channeling pure fire spirit energy to disperse the mist and block the whip.
But for Yue Tingxi now, one whip was no longer the limit.
While Qin Suoliu was defending, she suddenly flicked her snake tail, taking advantage of her higher cultivation to strike toward Qin Suoliu’s open abdomen with terrifying speed!
A sharp clang rang out as Qin Suoliu blocked the tail with a residual sword strike.
In the flash of swords and whips, dozens of moves were exchanged in an instant.
They knew each other too well now. They didn’t even need careful observation to predict each other’s next moves or targeted attacks.
Since both were going all out, Qin Suoliu intentionally triggered memories of her past-life demonic self, striking harder with those techniques that would have earned scolding from the people of Qingyu Mountain—directed at Yue Tingxi.
Yue Tingxi saw through her little scheme.
But she had to admit, this troublemaker was very good at provoking her anger. After absorbing a few familiar demonic sword techniques, she finally lost her temper.
Spirit blades tore across her arm, water energy and blood spilling out in a mist of crimson!
This was a move Qin Suoliu had never seen.
She instinctively used her fire energy to shield herself, only to feel pain in her throat—the blood mist broke through her fire protection!
As she tried to purge the mist with her internal fire energy, the mist solidified into fine ice spikes, suffocating her. Even her attempt to burn them with her energy was blocked by their cultivation difference.
This momentary suppression determined her defeat.
Choking and bound, wrapped by Yue Tingxi’s snake body, Qin Suoliu felt as though every bone would shatter at any second.
The Black Crane Whip, forged by the people of Qingyu Mountain in imitation of Yue Tingxi’s body and combat techniques, bristled with sharp scales as it coiled, cutting through both her robes and flesh.
Pain spread throughout her body, inside and out. Yet she finally exhaled, intending to admit defeat. But recalling that this fight was meant for Sister Tingxi to take revenge for that past-life demon, she struggled and tried to counterattack.
“Stop moving!” Yue Tingxi shouted. “Do you really want to die?!”
“I… I do deserve to die once…” Qin Suoliu coughed up blood, trying to breathe, replying, “To die by your hand… and before I truly die… be swallowed by you… and completely dissolved…”
That had been the ending she had imagined in her past life.
“That was that past-life demon who deserved a thousand cuts! Its soul corrupted, becoming a mindless shell!” Yue Tingxi whispered fiercely into her ear. “You’ve suffered enough. It’s time to stop!”
Before Qin Suoliu could say more, Yue Tingxi covered her mouth, absorbing all the blood mist turned ice spikes back into her own body.
She then released her snake body, restored her scales, and held the bloodied Miss Qin, walking under a cliff that shielded them from the sunlight.
But her companion still protested, “I don’t want to go to a shady place…”
She clearly still remembered being imprisoned on the Demon-Sealing Platform in her past life, exposed to the scorching sun until her blood dried.
Yue Tingxi sighed, ignoring her protest, moving her to the shade, gathering water energy in her mouth mixed with melted healing and detoxifying pills, feeding her directly.
Qin Suoliu resisted, but Yue Tingxi held her chin and cheeks, forcing her to sip little by little.
The strong scent of blood and herbs lingered between them.
“That’s enough, Miss Qin.”
After feeding her, Yue Tingxi leaned close to her ear, sighing, “I know you always have strange ideas, but I will at most hold you in my demon mouth—I will never eat you.”
“I’ve said we’ve turned the page. I cannot agree with the method of atonement you want. In this life, we have a shared goal. Now, you are my most important ally, not an enemy. If you insist on such capricious demands, it’s an insult to my decision to let go of the past.”
“I have not forgiven you. But compared to killing you, I’d rather see you spend your life atoning for me.” She caressed the hair of the blood- and sweat-stained Miss Qin and cast a purifying spell. “So you are not allowed to die, and you are not allowed to speak lightly of death or revenge again. I will always watch you… until the day we both meet an unfortunate end.”
