Waiting for You for a Long Time, But You Haven't Arrived - Chapter 33.2
From now on, I don’t need to speak kindly to you, nor do I need to waste effort coaxing you. You are heartless and don’t deserve good treatment. Since that’s the case, I don’t need to consider your views. I will only seek my own pleasure. When I grow tired of playing with you one day, I’ll throw you aside… Wait, what are you doing?”
Ming Yishu moved her feet, attempting to push away the loathsome chains. But this action somehow angered Jiang Qionghua. She stopped mid-sentence and looked at her with cold eyes.
Ming Yishu didn’t want to look at her, nor did she want to talk to her.
Jiang Qionghua was left in a cold silence. Her words weren’t being heard. Ming Yishu’s cold face was particularly infuriating to her.
“I hate your act of fake purity the most.” Jiang Qionghua gritted her teeth and grabbed the chain on her ankle, deliberately jerking it and pulling Ming Yishu’s body down.
“I am the one who always puts on this act, and I don’t know who it’s for, but at your core, you are shameless. Only when you are in bed with me do you show your true, wanton nature.”
Ming Yishu struggled to sit up. Her dark hair fell over her thin shoulders, making her look helpless and weak. But Jiang Qionghua still refused to let her off easily. She yanked the chain again, pulling Ming Yishu back heavily, which terrified the wolf cub beside them.
This time, no one would protect the timid Heyi. Ming Yishu could barely protect herself, and her eyes turned red under Jiang Qionghua’s cruel behavior.
She cried with restraint; her tears fell continuously, but she refused to make a sound.
Jiang Qionghua was annoyed by her crying and moved to tear at her clothes, as if she were going to use her to vent her lust.
Ming Yishu struck down the hand that was raised toward her, practically begging: “Go find someone else. Go find someone else and stop making things difficult for me. I don’t want to see you. For the sake of all these years of sentiment, let me go, alright? You won’t believe my words; you are just hell-bent on tormenting people. Is there any meaning to this? Qionghua, do you love me? Why must you entangle yourself with me? If you love me, why can’t you listen to what I have to say? If you don’t love me, why don’t you find someone else to torment?”
Jiang Qionghua turned her gaze away. “I…”
She hesitated.
Ming Yishu’s heart was thrown into chaos by this hesitation. She immediately paused, as if she had caught onto a crucial piece of information.
Why the hesitation?
Ming Yishu set aside all her grievances and resentment and spoke almost in disbelief: “Qionghua, do you love me?”
Jiang Qionghua didn’t say anything; she didn’t answer.
Ming Yishu’s expression went blank. she didn’t expect Jiang Qionghua to react this way. This reaction was very strange, and many layers of meaning could be analyzed from it.
“How could I love you? You are nothing more than a puppy I picked up and raised on a whim.” Jiang Qionghua still didn’t look at her, but instead picked up Heyi from beside them.
“No.” Ming Yishu understood her. Her reaction was very telling. There was clearly love in it. Anything that wasn’t flatly denied was likely true.
Ming Yishu repeated it again: “No, it’s not like that. You love me. You just admitted it.”
Jiang Qionghua looked down and petted the dog. “Nonsense. I didn’t say that. Don’t be so full of yourself, Ming Yishu.”
This time, she answered decisively. The hope that Ming Yishu had managed to kindle was once again smothered by the other woman. Her heart could no longer beat with hope.
Ming Yishu sat dejectedly before her. In a daze, she pondered for a moment and murmured, “Do you really not love me?”
Jiang Qionghua, feeling frustrated and somewhat annoyed by the persistence, responded dismissively, “I don’t.”
Ming Yishu hugged her knees, lowering her head to calm her surging emotions. She was like a moth chasing light, crashing into the brightness until she was bruised and bloody. Even though she already knew the result, she still wouldn’t give up hope, still wanting to prove something. Even if she died, she wouldn’t repent.
Jiang Qionghua waited for her in silence. She had no desire to say anything nice, leaving her worst temper for Ming Yishu.
She didn’t think there was anything wrong. Perhaps years of arrogance had made her supercilious. Perhaps she was just that kind of person. In any case, she wouldn’t waste her patience on being good to others. If she felt someone wasn’t worth it, she would never force herself to yield.
In every aspect.
For example, when Ming Yishu liked for her to use her tongue during their intimacy. Once, she had truly given herself to Ming Yishu; her mood was good, so she was willing to yield a bit and serve her with her mouth. In all these years, that was one of the few times she had lowered her posture.
Such a lowly thing—she, Jiang Qionghua, would never do it a second time. The first time was an accident of circumstance; Ming Yishu didn’t deserve that from her.
Thinking of this, Jiang Qionghua’s mood grew even worse. The more she calculated, the more she felt that her sincerity would be better spent on a dog than on Ming Yishu. It was truly infuriating. Jiang Qionghua’s anger flared again, and she broke the silence to make things difficult for Ming Yishu: “I served you like that before; you must pay me back.”
Ming Yishu had already endured the intimacy yesterday with great discomfort. How could she actively break that boundary again?
“I am unwilling.” Ming Yishu pushed her away, leaving no room for sentiment. “There are many women in the Red Jade Pavilion with good figures and faces. You can go there if you like.”
Jiang Qionghua really wanted to hit her. “Red Jade Pavilion? Don’t mention that place in front of me. Have you been there? Did you go there secretly? How do you know who is in there?”
Ming Yishu had never been there.
She was currently so disgusted by Jiang Qionghua’s pestering that she couldn’t think straight. Without thinking, she answered subconsciously: “My teacher told me. That place…”
Teacher.
Ji Zijun.
No—it should be said—it was Tang Guangjun.
Jiang Qionghua’s expression was hideous. If Ming Yishu had looked up at that moment, she would have been terrified by the other woman’s demonic appearance.
She repeated Ming Yishu’s words through gritted teeth: “Your ‘teacher told you’… Oh, I forgot. That person has always stayed by your side as Ji Zijun. In all these years, she has spent no less time with you than I have. Her kindness to you is indeed greater than the heavens. I was being boastful.”
Good. Very good.
Truly good. How could she have only thought of this now?
Jiang Qionghua squeezed Ming Yishu’s slender wrist tightly, wishing she could snap it. Her fingers were shaking with excessive rage. “You, the two of you… you two conspired to deceive me, just like many years ago, wanting me dead.”
Ming Yishu could no longer cry. Her vision was blurred; she couldn’t see the person in front of her clearly and could only hear the hateful words.
It wasn’t like that.
It wasn’t like that at all.
She tried to explain dejectedly. She moved her lips for a long time only to find she couldn’t make a sound—only breathy gasps.
Jiang Qionghua yanked her hair, forcing her to look up, and then bit her lip.
The smell of blood spread instantly. Ming Yishu was in agony and couldn’t break free.
Heyi, nearby, was terrified. But it sensitively felt Ming Yishu’s distress, and the cause of this was obviously Jiang Qionghua.
Heyi let out a low, fierce howl from its throat and lunged forward to bite Jiang Qionghua’s sleeve.
Jiang Qionghua angrily swung her sleeve, knocking the wolf cub to the floor.
Heyi landed hard and rolled over, but it stubbornly got up and tried to jump back onto the bed. Unfortunately, it wasn’t fully grown—just a halfway-wolf. No matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t rescue its master.
After many attempts, Heyi finally leapt up. It bit down decisively, using the sharp teeth it usually used for raw venison to sink into Jiang Qionghua’s wrist.
Jiang Qionghua hissed in pain. Noticing her wrist was bleeding, her temper became even more violent.
She lowered her head and said in a suppressed, low, raspy voice: “Whitey, you bite me too? Are you going to betray me as well?”
Heyi’s fur stood on end. It whimpered and growled, as if trying to threaten her and show weakness at the same time.
Jiang Qionghua clenched her teeth, threw Ming Yishu aside, turned, and grabbed the wolf cub by the scruff of its neck. She casually straightened her collar and dragged Heyi toward the door.
“Stop!” Ming Yishu realized something was wrong. She was afraid Heyi would be killed by the enraged Jiang Qionghua. She quickly called out to stop her. “Qionghua, don’t hurt Heyi.”
“Shut up.” Jiang Qionghua let out a laugh, looking like a demon. “I’m going to skin it to make a hand warmer.”
Ming Yishu took a deep breath and stared intently at her face. “I promise you. I will… serve you with my tongue. Just let go of Heyi.”
Jiang Qionghua said nothing and continued walking out, carrying Heyi.
The door slammed shut with an earth-shattering bang.
Ming Yishu covered her face and wept in grief, her hair falling over the bed.
“Stop crying.” Jiang Qionghua’s footsteps sounded. At some point, she had returned and was standing in front of Ming Yishu. “Come, serve me well.”
Ming Yishu lowered her hands, her heart aching terribly. She looked toward the door in a daze and realized that Jiang Qionghua had only gone to throw Heyi out. Now the woman had returned and hadn’t actually hurt her puppy.
Thank goodness.
