Try Saying You Don't Like It - Chapter 32
Chapter 32
“Mm, it is too fast.” Yin Qiuman had a faint smile on her face, agreeing with He Xinglan, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes.
Deep in her eyes was a profound realization.
She was… indeed too rushed.
Afterward, both of them tacitly avoided the topic, remaining affectionate until they went out for dinner.
This time, they ate nearby. Perhaps due to the exhaustion from last night, neither of them had the urge to travel far.
They randomly chose an eatery near the hotel. The taste was average, but it filled their stomachs.
After the meal, the two walked hand-in-hand down the street. Perhaps it was true that large cities are more open than small county towns; their behavior didn’t draw a single strange look.
“This is really nice,” Yin Qiuman suddenly exclaimed.
“What is?” He Xinglan hadn’t heard clearly and turned her head to look.
Yin Qiuman shook their clasped hands. He Xinglan realized what she meant, then looked at the person in front of her with a sense of grievance: “I’ve wanted this for so long.”
She had wanted this since they were high school classmates, but back then, even when Yin Qiuman was her girlfriend, intimate actions like holding hands could only happen in deserted alleys.
With just the slightest noise, Yin Qiuman would quickly shake off her hand, as if she were something dirty.
He Xinglan’s mood was often low and depressed back then.
Now, finally, she could openly hold her girlfriend’s hand.
Hearing He Xinglan’s words and looking at the hotel entrance barely ten steps ahead, Yin Qiuman suddenly asked: “Xingxing, is there a milk tea shop nearby?”
“Milk tea shop?” He Xinglan blinked: “Do you want to drink milk tea?”
Yin Qiuman nodded: “I do.”
“There is one nearby, I’ll take you.” He Xinglan thought for a moment and quickly remembered a milk tea shop about two kilometers to the left of the hotel. But two kilometers… He Xinglan quickly changed her mind: “The milk tea shop is a bit far. You wait back at the hotel; I’ll go buy it for you.”
Seeing Yin Qiuman frown in disagreement, He Xinglan suggested: “Or should we take a taxi there?”
Yin Qiuman shook her head, holding He Xinglan’s hand: “I ate too much. Let’s walk.”
Ate too much? Then why do you want milk tea? He Xinglan blinked again, her mind momentarily failing to connect.
But if her girlfriend wanted to walk, she would, of course, accompany her.
“Okay, then we’ll walk there,” He Xinglan agreed: “But if you get tired, you must tell me, and we’ll take a taxi.”
He Xinglan urged her; she couldn’t bear for her girlfriend to be tired.
At least, not from walking too much. In bed, of course, it was permissible.
Yin Qiuman nodded dismissively: “Lead the way.”
He Xinglan obediently led the way, their hands still clasped together.
The foot traffic on the way to the milk tea shop was noticeably heavier than before. Occasionally, one or two pairs of eyes would fall on their clasped hands, followed by kind and excited smiles.
After all, both of them were good-looking; it was very satisfying to ship them.
Yin Qiuman was a little unaccustomed to it at first, but she had already decided to be with He Xinglan no matter what, so she forced herself not to release He Xinglan’s hand. It wasn’t until they reached the milk tea shop, ordered their drinks, and He Xinglan took out her phone to pay that their clasped hands finally separated.
Yin Qiuman looked at her hand and felt that habit was a truly terrible thing. She had grown accustomed to being held by He Xinglan after only two kilometers of walking.
Even though only their hands were separated, her heart felt a sense of emptiness.
So, when He Xinglan finished paying, she resolutely reached out and clasped their hands together again.
He Xinglan looked at the hand that had actively grabbed hers and smiled with curved eyes: “Can’t bear to be apart for even a second?”
“You love me that much.”
He Xinglan was just saying it; she liked to verbally take advantage of Yin Qiuman, or, to put it plainly, her mouth was being cheeky, compelled to say something.
But what He Xinglan didn’t expect was that Yin Qiuman actually gave her a very serious response.
“Mm, can’t be apart. Love you very, very much.”
Yin Qiuman’s voice wasn’t very loud, but the milk tea shop employee who had just taken their order heard it clearly. As a result, the two immediately acquired a CP fan.
This employee clearly shipped lesbian CPs often and was unusually bold.
“Are you two ladies… a couple?”
Meeting those expectant eyes, He Xinglan felt a little embarrassed.
Yin Qiuman smiled, glanced at He Xinglan, and seeing her ears slightly flushed, the smile in her eyes deepened. Then she nodded to the employee: “Yes, she is my girlfriend.”
He Xinglan felt her body temperature rising the moment the employee asked that question. The most obvious feeling was her burning ears. But when Yin Qiuman said, ‘She is my girlfriend,’ He Xinglan felt that it wasn’t just her ears heating up; she felt her face and her heart were warming up too.
Yin Qiuman was declaring their relationship to her!
‘She is my girlfriend’—He Xinglan felt this sentence had an even greater impact on her than ‘I like you’ or ‘I love you.’
He Xinglan tried hard to maintain her composure, but when she looked at the employee, she couldn’t help but grin, showing her teeth: “Yes, she’s my girlfriend.”
“Wow, you two ladies are so sweet!” The employee’s eyes sparkled like stars, seeming even happier than Yin Qiuman and He Xinglan themselves.
“Perfect! Ladies, we have an event at our shop.” The employee suddenly remembered something and quickly pointed to a background wall covered with many photos and notes: “If you’re a couple, leave a picture of you kissing, and you get your order free. Would you two ladies like to participate?”
He Xinglan immediately looked at Yin Qiuman after hearing that and asked: “Should we participate?”
Yin Qiuman: “Do you want to participate?”
He Xinglan thought about it but decided to leave the decision to Yin Qiuman: “If you want to, we’ll participate.”
Seeing He Xinglan bounce the ball back, Yin Qiuman smiled and shook her head.
Seeing Yin Qiuman shake her head, He Xinglan thought she meant no, a trace of disappointment quickly flashed in her eyes, but she still chose to listen to Yin Qiuman and turned to the employee: “Sorry, we won’t be participating.”
“No, we’ll participate.” He Xinglan’s words were immediately overturned by Yin Qiuman.
He Xinglan turned back to Yin Qiuman in surprise, her bewildered eyes seeming to ask, Didn’t you say no?
Yin Qiuman raised her finger and tapped He Xinglan’s forehead: “When did I say no?”
“If my girlfriend wants to participate, I must agree. Otherwise, what if my girlfriend gets angry and ignores me?”
Yin Qiuman’s voice was full of helplessness and pampering.
He Xinglan’s eyes sparkled. Hearing that, she let out a light huff: “I’m not that petty.”
After quickly expressing her dissatisfaction, He Xinglan was already asking the employee: “How do we take the photo? Do we use our own phones, or do you have a Polaroid or something?”
