- Chapter 65 - Unable to Restrain Myself in Front of Junior Sister
Luo Yunhuan did not explain that she had obtained this flying sword from the belly of a Golden Core phase elephant demon. Let others think whatever they wanted she didn’t care.
People only believe what they want to believe.
After storing the flying sword, Luo Yunhuan hurried toward the main peak and soon found the courtyard nestled at the mountain’s base. It had been a month since her last visit, and the flowers had grown even more luxuriant, nearly obscuring the bluestone path in the courtyard. It seemed the Eldest Senior Sister hadn’t returned to her room.
Otherwise, these plants growing along the courtyard’s periphery would have been cleared away, as they blocked Qin Yiqiu’s path.
Though it was just speculation, Luo Yunhuan pushed open the door to Qin Yiqiu’s boudoir with hopeful eyes, only to find it empty.
Assuming she must be busy with something, Luo Yunhuan sat down in the Eldest Senior Sister’s room and opened the Encyclopedia of Talismans. She began earnestly studying low-level talismans, and before she knew it, evening had fallen. Throughout the day, she would occasionally glance expectantly toward the door.
She could finally understand how a cat feels when eagerly awaiting its owner’s return paws tapping the ground restlessly, each step filled with heartfelt longing.
Unfortunately, the owner never returned.
Just like her current state of mind, Luo Yunhuan hadn’t waited for the Eldest Senior Sister. She felt puzzled, and a trace of panic began to creep into her heart.
Had the Eldest Senior Sister grown tired of her?
Otherwise, why.
Why would the favorability points drop?
She had to put in so much effort to raise the favorability by just 0.1, yet the Eldest Senior Sister had reduced it so casually.
[Host, don’t be sad. This is just how it is when pursuing someone on the Path of Emotionless Ascension.]
[They inherently possess an indifferent nature, though they themselves are unaware of it.]
The system tried to console her, but Luo Yunhuan refused to be disheartened. She stood up and stored all the talismans she had drawn into her storage pouch.
She opened the system’s map and carefully searched, eventually discovering a stationary red dot hidden within the larger map.
It was far yet near right before her eyes.
To her surprise, Luo Yunhuan realized the Eldest Senior Sister was in the spiritual spring not far from the backyard, yet she hadn’t returned to her own room.
“So that’s where she is.”
Luo Yunhuan shook her head with a smile and then strode cheerfully toward the spiritual spring where her senior sister was. However, as she approached and could already see the smooth decorative stones lining the spring’s edge, her steps grew hesitant.
She still didn’t know why the Eldest Senior Sister had lowered the favorability points. Perhaps she was currently sulking over something. Would it really be appropriate to barge in so abruptly?
But,
If she didn’t find out the truth, Luo Yunhuan feared she would be tormented to death by curiosity. The saying “curiosity killed the cat” wasn’t just an empty phrase.
Pausing in her steps, Luo Yunhuan gazed into the distance. She could make out a slender figure in deep blue, sitting with a straight back, facing away from her.
Thus, she couldn’t discern Qin Yiqiu’s expression, but she assumed the Eldest Senior Sister was likely meditating and cultivating, her face devoid of any unnecessary emotions.
Luo Yunhuan took a deep breath, telling herself there was nothing to fear. Qin Yiqiu wouldn’t actually stab her with a sword.
If Qin Yiqiu had such a temper, Luo Yunhuan would have died countless times by now.
Taking a step forward, Luo Yunhuan reached the edge of the spiritual spring. There, she saw Qin Yiqiu, eyes closed, deep in cultivation.
“Eldest Senior Sister.”
Luo Yunhuan was about to wonder if she was disturbing the other person when she saw the figure before her slowly open her eyes. Their gazes met, and Qin Yiqiu felt a momentary daze, followed by a surge of shame because she had actually given serious thought to the words her junior sister Rouyun had spoken.
“Why have you come?” Qin Yiqiu asked, though her condition was far from ideal. Her face was deathly pale, like the whitest porcelain, without a trace of healthy color. Her body trembled faintly, causing ripples to spread across the surface of the spirit spring.
“I came to see you Senior Sister, didn’t you say you liked the dress I was wearing before? So I went back to find the person who made it. Luckily, he was still there. But although the dress is beautiful, it only has the most basic waterproof and fireproof enchantments.” Luo Yunhuan rambled with her eyes closed.
It was then that she noticed Qin Yiqiu’s trembling, which grew increasingly pronounced clearly something was wrong.
Without hesitation, Luo Yunhuan leaped into the spirit spring. Her fingers rested on Qin Yiqiu’s slender wrist, sensing the chaotic pulse beneath. Her spiritual energy tentatively probed inward, and as soon as it entered, she was shocked by the disordered energy and turbulent spiritual power coursing through Qin Yiqiu’s meridians.
How could this be? It was almost as dangerous as the last time she had suffered a qi deviation.
Luo Yunhuan was baffled.
“Junior Sister, please leave.” Qin Yiqiu tried to push her away, but her body was too weak. Her fingers slid helplessly from Luo Yunhuan’s shoulders, and she slumped forward, her chin resting on Luo Yunhuan’s shoulder. The intense floral fragrance nearly overwhelmed her senses.
“How can I leave, Senior Sister? You’re in such a state. Tell me, what happened?”
They had been together just moments before. Luo Yunhuan had only been gone for a few hours to gather materials and find an excuse to bring her the dress. How had things deteriorated so quickly?
“It’s nothing.” Qin Yiqiu’s fingers trembled uncontrollably.
“Please, leave,” she pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. She didn’t want to appear so vulnerable in front of Luo Yunhuan, but the backlash from the Emotionless Art was severe. Even their master couldn’t fully withstand it, let alone her.
She knew all too well that her own insecurities, stemming from seeing Luo Yunhuan’s closeness with that man,had triggered the instability in her cultivation. That was precisely why she didn’t want Luo Yunhuan near her, fearing things would only worsen.
“I’m not leaving,” Luo Yunhuan insisted firmly. She couldn’t understand why Qin Yiqiu was so determined to avoid her. Reaching out, she brushed aside the damp strands of hair from Qin Yiqiu’s forehead. Drenched in the cold water of the spirit spring, Qin Yiqiu’s skin glistened with droplets, making her appear even more delicate.
“Tell me, Senior Sister, why are you like this?”
Qin Yiqiu closed her eyes, unable to restrain herself any longer. Her cold, slender fingers tightened around Luo Yunhuan’s wrist. With a sudden splash, Luo Yunhuan was pulled into the icy spirit spring. Water rushed over her, submerging her nose and lips.
For a moment, Luo Yunhuan felt as if she were drowning. But then, a pair of softer lips pressed against hers, gently transferring spiritual energy, easing the discomfort in her lungs.
“Because I saw you walking with Yuan Dingshan, I felt uncomfortable inside. I thought suppressing it would work, but by the time I finished meeting with our master, I had already lost control.”
“Luo Yunhuan, why did you have to provoke me at this moment?”
“You know I can’t hold back.”
“It’s already exhausting enough just pretending in front of our master.”
Qin Yiqiu’s gentle voice filled Luo Yunhuan’s mind, and only then did she realize her senior sister was using telepathic communication.
At the same time, the lost favorability points slowly returned.
[Congratulations, Host. Favorability points increased by 2.]
The system softly reminded her.
