- Transmigration! The System Wants Me to Pursue the Abstinent Senior Sister
- Chapter 38 - Hands-On Teaching
As soon as Luo Yunhuan entered the room, she was stunned by its high-end, luxurious, and classy atmosphere. Deep blue velvet drapes hung everywhere, serving not merely as decorations but also emanating fluctuations of ice spiritual energy.
It was clearly Qin Yiqiu’s custom-designed room.
The room exuded a faint chill, no different from natural air conditioning.
Bookshelves lined the walls, and there was also a dressing table.
A tea table and a wine table were fully equipped. Luo Yunhuan’s eyes darted around, taking it all in, while Qin Yiqiu had already settled onto a meditation cushion.
“The Profound Moon Secret Realm is quite far from the Cloud Sword Mountain Sect it will take about seven or eight days to reach. Junior Sister, you can focus on your cultivation during this time.”
Luo Yunhuan’s cultivation progress was too slow, and she had no intention of dedicating her efforts to it. Instead, she planned to first master the skill of talisman-making.
She wanted to acquire the most basic means of self-preservation before leveling up.
With this in mind, Luo Yunhuan knelt on the floor, her hands resting on the deep blue velvet carpet.
“Senior Sister, I have a question I’d like to ask you.”
The proximity made Qin Yiqiu’s heart skip a beat. Luo Yunhuan was usually not this forward with beauties, but she had noticed that Qin Yiqiu never overreacted to her actions.
For instance, she never showed a look of disgust or pushed her away. Without any signs of rejection, it was easy to become bolder.
“What is it?”
Qin Yiqiu held a teacup in her hand, the stems of the green tea floating to the surface. It was a pot of fine tea, its delicate fragrance lingering between them.
“Do you know how to draw talismans?”
Even though she had the Talisman Encyclopedia, Luo Yunhuan felt that face-to-face guidance would be more effective.
“Yes.”
Qin Yiqiu nodded.
“That’s great!”
Luo Yunhuan laughed and reached out to hug Qin Yiqiu, nearly causing the teacup to spill. Qin Yiqiu had no choice but to use a spell to suspend the cup in midair.
“Does Junior Sister wish to learn talisman-making?”
“Yes, very much.”
Luo Yunhuan smiled, her eyes narrowing. Since transmigrating, she had made some changes to the original host’s appearance. First, she trimmed her eyebrows, then tidied up some unruly strands of hair.
Luo Yunhuan had also purchased some beauty-enhancing pills.
To win someone over, it was best to start with one’s attire and appearance. Otherwise, even an ordinary man would be hard to capture with a plain, unadorned face.
Her pink lips curved slightly. Qin Yiqiu felt the distance was too close but didn’t know what to say.
Pushing her away would be downright impolite.
“I have a four-spiritual-root constitution. If I pursue the path of spiritual cultivation, it would be extremely difficult, I have no talent for it. It’s better to choose a different path.”
“But the path of a talisman master heavily tests one’s innate talent.”
Qin Yiqiu frowned slightly, as if troubled by Luo Yunhuan’s decision, but she soon understood.
Compared to stubbornly pursuing spiritual cultivation with a four-spiritual-root constitution, it was wiser to specialize in talisman-making.
“Alright, if that’s what you want, I will support you.”
A light, casual sentence, yet it carried boundless strength. Qin Yiqiu was a woman of her word, and Luo Yunhuan understood this well.
She watched as Senior Sister placed the teacup back on the table, then twirled the ice-blue storage ring on her finger. In no time, a complete set of talisman-making tools was spread out on the table.
There was cinnabar, yellow paper, and a brush.
“Have you studied this before?”
Qin Yiqiu reached out, and the cinnabar transformed into a thick, crimson liquid.
“I’ve learned a little, but I can’t draw it completely. Senior Sister, could you teach me?”
Luo Yunhuan leaned closer.
“Of course.”
“Let me demonstrate first.”
Qin Yiqiu took the brush and began teaching from the very posture of holding it. The pristine brush tip dipped into the cinnabar, quickly staining a vivid red.
Qin Yiqiu’s handwriting was delicate and elegant, even when drawing talismans. She was almost all-around capable, though her focus leaned more toward sword techniques and emotionless cultivation methods.
“The first stroke of a talisman is crucial. If it’s drawn incorrectly, it can affect the entire talisman’s power.”
“Moreover, many talismans require sufficient energy. If I were to draw a Freezing Talisman, it would need to be in a place abundant with ice spiritual energy, like this room of mine.”
“That’s why many talisman masters go to places rich in the five elemental energies to draw their talismans.”
As she explained, Qin Yiqiu drew an extremely simple Freezing Talisman.
Then, she handed the brush to Luo Yunhuan.
“This is the simplest version of the Freezing Talisman. In a room filled with ice spiritual roots, it’s easy to draw. Give it a try.”
If Qin Yiqiu were a tutor, she would undoubtedly be the gentlest kind, yet there was a strict aura in her brow.
One couldn’t help but obey.
Luo Yunhuan’s fingers trembled slightly, a result of being overly nervous. She reached out and took the slightly cool brush.
Qin Yiqiu handed her a new yellow talisman paper, and the dried brush tip was once again saturated with red cinnabar.
Luo Yunhuan attempted to draw.
But unfortunately, she couldn’t complete the first stroke properly. Often, after just two strokes, her fingers would sense a piercing chill.
She couldn’t persist any further.
After two or three attempts, Luo Yunhuan felt somewhat defeated, lowering her head in shame, too embarrassed to look at Qin Yiqiu.
“It’s alright.”
Qin Yiqiu’s voice was gentle. After a moment’s thought, she moved closer to her junior sister, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her into an embrace. Her slender right hand clasped over Luo Yunhuan’s.
“I’ll teach you personally.”
A cool breath brushed against her cheek, and Luo Yunhuan was utterly stunned. After all, she had taken the initiative many times, but Senior Sister’s active gestures were few and far between.
“Don’t space out.”
A cool chin rested on her shoulder as Qin Yiqiu’s crisp voice seemed capable of making one’s ears melt.
Luo Yunhuan snapped back to attention and quickly focused on the talisman. Cool fingers rested on her knuckles, almost guiding her through every step of drawing the Freezing Talisman.
Senior Sister’s palm was cold, but due to their prolonged contact, it began to feel slightly warm.
The woman beneath her palm was gradually heating up.
Was it because of shyness?
The Freezing Talisman was nearly finished, and Luo Yunhuan’s cheeks were flushed with heat. Although she now understood how to draw the talisman, she felt too embarrassed to continue.
“Did you get it?”
Just as Qin Yiqiu was about to let go, she felt Luo Yunhuan’s hand trembling slightly.
Senior Sister… you really have no idea how captivating you are, Luo Yunhuan couldn’t help thinking to herself. She decided she couldn’t back down now.
Even though she was the one supposed to be doing the pursuing, she often found herself flustered by the target of her affections. So, Luo Yunhuan turned around, determined to begin her counterattack.
“I’ve got it, thank you, Senior Sister.”
With these words, Luo Yunhuan tilted her head up and pressed her soft lips against the cool corner of Qin Yiqiu’s mouth, leaving behind a hint of moisture. Though it lasted only a moment, Qin Yiqiu felt as if struck by lightning, her body swaying as she braced herself with one hand on the ground to avoid an ungraceful fall.
“How dare you.”
She forced the words through gritted teeth, but the blush spreading across her cheeks robbed them of any intimidation.
