- Chapter 149 - The Days and Nights of Dating a CEO (5) "I can teach you."
Wandering around Hong Kong for three days, Qi Zheng was almost constantly tasting and searching for good food every day. What made Shen Zhibing jealous was that Qi Zheng ate so much every day but showed no signs of gaining weight. However, it was also thanks to their prolonged nightly “battles” that sufficiently consumed the calories.
Their last stop was Malaysia, first Malacca and then Langkawi Island (L Island). In the past, when Shen Zhibing went on island holidays with family or friends, it was mostly to places like Seychelles or the Maldives. This time, she said she wanted to experience a different style. After several comparisons, Qi Zheng chose Malaysia.
“There’s a particularly delicious Teochew restaurant in Malacca, but the owner is quite eccentric.”
As soon as they got off the bus, Qi Zheng began to introduce it. Looking at her bright eyes, Shen Zhibing also started to anticipate. The journey’s food, accommodation, and travel arrangements were mostly handled by Qi Zheng, yet they were exceptionally thoughtful, leaving Shen Zhibing very satisfied.
After being verified several times, Shen Zhibing no longer doubted Qi Zheng’s definition of “delicious”—it was indeed authentic, well-tested food found in the streets and alleys. She also stopped worrying about her calorie intake; not gaining weight after a few days had made her heedless, led on by Qi Zheng.
“Why didn’t I notice before that you’re such a glutton? You’ve been researching and talking about where the good food is the whole trip.”
Qi Zheng shifted her gaze from her phone screen to Shen Zhibing’s face, looked for a while, and admitted, “I hadn’t been ‘introduced to meat’ before, so I didn’t know I had such a good appetite.”
Shen Zhibing felt something was off with that look, and now hearing the explanation, it felt even more wrong. If they weren’t outside, she might have really reached out to pinch Qi Zheng’s ear.
“A lustful glutton!” Shen Zhibing could only fume inwardly, maintaining her elegance outwardly.
After checking in, Qi Zheng rested with her for a while. They only officially went out for a stroll when the sun had set and the temperature had dropped slightly.
There was always a long queue outside the Hainanese Chicken Rice restaurant. They passed it on their way to the Red House, discussing going back later. Unexpectedly, when they returned after walking around, the queue was almost the same length as before.
Qi Zheng watched longingly, a little hesitant.
Seeing her stand still, Shen Zhibing asked, puzzled, “Why aren’t you going over?”
“There are so many people, it will probably take a long time to queue.”
“Are you hungry?”
Qi Zheng looked at her and shook her head, “I’m not hungry, but I feel bad for you having to wait so long.”
Shen Zhibing smiled sweetly, took her hand, and joined the waiting line, “When you’re out playing, you should enjoy it to the fullest. If you want to eat it, we’ll queue. It’s not some unbearable hardship.”
For this trip, both their suitcases were mostly filled with casual wear. Upon arriving at this Southeast Asian island nation, Shen Zhibing simply changed into a brightly colored long dress and a pair of canvas shoes. Qi Zheng wore a linen shirt and casual trousers, also looking relaxed.
“Stand in front of me.”
Qi Zheng pulled Shen Zhibing from her side to the front, almost completely enveloping her.
“This way you won’t get sunburnt.” The sunset’s heat was considerable, and Qi Zheng’s “human parasol” function was quite effective.
“I’ve applied sunscreen, you don’t need to worry.” Seeing sweat on Qi Zheng’s forehead, Shen Zhibing pulled a tissue from her bag and wiped it for her.
“I knew this place would have a long queue when I checked the guides online, but I didn’t expect it to be this long.”
The line moved very slowly. Fortunately, most people were tourists in a relaxed mood, and no one seemed to be complaining.
“It’s because people don’t come often, so when they do, they don’t want to miss out. Queuing is normal.”
In places popular with tourists, where is there no queue?
After finally enjoying the delicious Hainanese Chicken Rice, Qi Zheng and Shen Zhibing walked hand in hand, not in a hurry to return to the hotel.
“Sleep in tomorrow morning, I’ll go buy Nasi Lemak.”
While having dinner, Qi Zheng heard from the neighboring tourists about an amazing Nasi Lemak place, and she was eager to try it.
“You’re going to buy food and leave me alone in the room? That won’t do.”
“Then shall we starve together when we wake up?”
“You can wake me up, and we can go buy it together.”
Qi Zheng nodded in agreement, but then looked slightly troubled, “But you’re so tired at night, I can’t bear to wake you.”
Shen Zhibing was speechless. After a moment of silence, she said, “Then you can make sure I’m not so tired.”
“If that happens, we’ll be hungry at night. Such a dilemma.”
Shen Zhibing realized she couldn’t out-argue Qi Zheng anymore. She couldn’t win against her in bed, and now she was gradually losing to her out of bed too. The dominant position seemed to have completely shifted to Qi Zheng, yet she, who always liked to be firmly in control of everything, surprisingly didn’t feel any unease.
She nestled compliantly into Qi Zheng’s arms, walking back with her against the gentle evening breeze, willingly becoming the “little woman” in love.
Sure enough, when Shen Zhibing woke up leisurely the next day, Qi Zheng had already bought the Nasi Lemak. It was in a small white plastic bag, not a large portion, but exceptionally delicious.
“The taste is indeed excellent. Luckily I went early, or it would have been sold out.”
This wasn’t a restaurant that primarily catered to tourists; it mainly sold to locals, so they naturally didn’t prepare too much food.
Shen Zhibing saw that Qi Zheng had already showered after returning, guessing she had been out for a while, otherwise she wouldn’t have been sweating so much in the morning.
“Rest well after eating, no more running around.”
Shen Zhibing knew that a trip involves many trivial matters. They didn’t want to rely on others to arrange everything, like they used to, but Qi Zheng didn’t want her to worry about these things, so she took on all the responsibility.
Naturally, this meant Qi Zheng was the one working hard.
The two cuddled in the hotel for a while and took a nap before heading out to find the long-anticipated Teochew restaurant.
The owner was indeed eccentric. He seated them but didn’t give them a menu. He just asked how many people were eating, then looked at the ingredients prepared for the day and casually mentioned a few dishes. Qi Zheng thought they all sounded good and agreed.
When the dishes arrived and they tasted them, they were indeed amazing.
“Masters are found among the people. This taste is certainly no worse than so-called Michelin restaurants.”
Shen Zhibing also agreed, “If you like it, when we go back, I’ll ask Aunt Xin to find a chef who can cook Teochew cuisine.”
“I’m not picky. I like all good food. Don’t trouble Aunt Xin.”
Aunt Xin currently not only had to look after Yunlu Flower Garden but also had to take time to manage the suburban villa; she was busy enough.
The last dish, small Thai green mangoes, arrived. The two were actually very full. But seeing the plate of fruit, they couldn’t resist the temptation and finished it off, piece by piece.
“I really need to control myself tomorrow, or my stomach will protest.”
Shen Zhibing laughed, looking at her, “What, has the glutton finally admitted defeat?”
“This is called a tactical break.”
Malacca is small, yet they spent three and a half days there before flying to Langkawi Island. Suddenly, a torrential rain poured down that day, and the plane violently shook in the air. Even the foreigners, who had been relaxed and nonchalant after boarding, actively fastened their seat belts and even prayed non-stop.
The two who were still joking became serious. The cabin fell silent, and they waited a long time for any broadcast. However, the turbulence and shaking became more and more intense, with several moments of vertical descent followed by rapid ascent, making the atmosphere in the cabin heavy.
Qi Zheng silently held Shen Zhibing’s hand tightly, embracing her, and occasionally kissing her forehead.
“I’m actually not very scared, and I don’t feel too many regrets.” Shen Zhibing leaned into Qi Zheng’s arms. When the flight gradually stabilized, she suddenly said this.
Qi Zheng looked down at her, “Me too.”
After a small bout of turbulence, all passengers were exceptionally excited and thrilled upon landing. The airport was built by the sea; they could see the ocean right after getting off the plane. The sea breeze dispersed the lingering tension and the residual heat carried from the city.
They stayed near the most famous CN Beach on Langkawi Island. After settling down, they couldn’t wait to go out. This time they changed into flip-flops, becoming more casual.
There was a wedding taking place on the beach. They watched for a while and were even invited to join the ceremony.
The couple seemed to be from China, making a special trip to hold a beach wedding like this. The newlyweds cried excitedly after exchanging vows. Shen Zhibing suddenly turned to look at Qi Zheng.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t give you a wedding like this.”
In addition to signing an agreement to waive the sharing of marital property, Qi Zheng had also agreed to the Old Man’s request—not to officially publicize their relationship.
Qi Zheng, however, looked content, without any regrets, “Although there was no wedding, I will have the rest of your life. I have no dissatisfaction whatsoever.”
Leaving the wedding venue, the two walked aimlessly along the seaside. After walking for a while, they arrived at a night market. After looking around and finding nothing particularly interesting, they turned back. Near the corner of the beach, there was surprisingly a small shop specializing in bikinis.
Walking in, the owners were two blonde white women who opened the shop purely because they loved the scenery of Langkawi Island and thus turned a short trip into a temporary residence.
Shen Zhibing rarely bought clothes in such roadside shops, but Qi Zheng said the styles were good, so she became interested and seriously picked out a few items.
“Buying so many at once, can you wear them all?”
Qi Zheng voluntarily took the shopping bags from her hand. They were light, but there were quite a few items.
“Aren’t you and I going to share them? Changing once a day isn’t too many.”
Their hotel suite had a private pool behind it, so the newly bought bikinis could be put to use tomorrow.
When Qi Zheng woke up the next day, she found Shen Zhibing wasn’t in the room. She checked the time; it was only half an hour later than usual.
There was a note on the bedside table saying she had gone running on the beach.
Qi Zheng finished washing up and, still not seeing Shen Zhibing return, planned to go look for her.
Unexpectedly, as she walked into the hotel lobby, she saw the person returning in sportswear. Just as she was about to smile, she noticed a “tail” behind Shen Zhibing.
A man who looked like a mixed-race person was enthusiastically talking. Shen Zhibing wasn’t paying him much attention, but it didn’t hinder his persistence.
He had encountered Shen Zhibing while running on the beach and was stunned by her beauty, following her all the way from the beach and unexpectedly discovering they were staying at the same hotel.
“I’m going back. There won’t be another chance to meet, so let’s skip the contact information. Goodbye!”
Shen Zhibing didn’t want to make a fuss outside, and since the walk back from the beach was short, she didn’t ask the bodyguard to intervene. Who knew Qi Zheng would witness the scene?
She had only been aloof and silent before, but now she wished she could kick the man into outer space instantly.
Qi Zheng was watching her from not far away, the curve of her mouth very slight and flat. Shen Zhibing’s heart tightened, feeling inexplicably guilty.
She quickly walked up to Qi Zheng and linked arms with her, “Let’s go back and have breakfast.”
Qi Zheng glanced at the man standing still, who seemed puzzled by Shen Zhibing’s sudden change in attitude. The “iceberg beauty” was only an iceberg to him; she ran faster than a rabbit when she saw the other beautiful woman.
After returning to the room and having breakfast, Qi Zheng still hadn’t said anything. She didn’t ask, so Shen Zhibing didn’t know how to bring it up, but the atmosphere was truly strange.
Shen Zhibing was still debating when she suddenly heard Qi Zheng suggest, “Let’s go swimming.”
Although it was a bit early to swim, it was a private pool, so they could swim whenever they wanted. Plus, the atmosphere was awkward before, so she agreed to anything Qi Zheng suggested.
Changing into the bikini bought yesterday, Shen Zhibing hadn’t even had a chance to turn around in the pool when she was pushed against the edge.
She turned her head to see Qi Zheng close behind her, smiling faintly.
“You… what are you doing!”
“Swimming with you.”
She was currently controlled with her face towards the pool wall; there was no way she could swim.
“Who swims like this?”
Qi Zheng still wouldn’t let go of her, even holding her wrist underwater.
“I can teach you.”
Soon, the bikini that Qi Zheng had favored the night before was floating on the water surface. Shen Zhibing felt the pool wall was so cold, but her back was so hot.
“Running on the beach alone early in the morning is boring. Swimming together is much more fun, isn’t it?”
Her voice was so seductive that it made Shen Zhibing unable to move, much less resist. Shen Zhibing subconsciously explained, “I just thought the air was better than in the gym. I didn’t expect to run into such a boring person.”
Qi Zheng’s breath lingered near her ear, causing Shen Zhibing to gradually melt in the pool.
“It is indeed boring, so let’s not waste our good time now.”
Qi Zheng submerged underwater. Shen Zhibing felt like she was going crazy. Compared to normal, she felt more buoyant due to the water, and she couldn’t reach Qi Zheng’s hair, so she could only weakly groan, hoping to escape such torment.
But after a while, this hot-and-cold torment escalated into an unbearable itch of temptation. Qi Zheng would surface to kiss her and then submerge again to torment her. Shen Zhibing was powerless to push her away, wanting more and more.
Before she completely lost herself underwater, she only remembered one thing: she would never go running on the beach alone again, and she would certainly not allow any idiot to follow her!
