- Transmigrating Into the Beautiful CEO’s Doomed Substitute
- Chapter 126 - Being able to arrange these things for you, I feel very happy and very satisfied
The love story in the movie had a romantic ending. As the closing music slowly played, people in the cinema began to leave. The noise startled Shen Zhibing, and she realized that she had indeed fallen asleep.
She quickly sat up, with the slight palpitation and momentary confusion of being jolted awake, her hand still being held by the person beside her.
“Don’t rush, we’ll leave a bit later.”
Shen Zhibing turned her head and saw Qi Zheng smiling gently at her. The rolling credits on the screen had reached the acknowledgments section, and the cleaning staff had already entered, leaving only five or six audience members remaining.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?”
Shen Zhibing relaxed, feeling much better. She picked up her bag and jacket from the side, and the hands that had briefly separated intertwined again. She followed slowly behind Qi Zheng.
“I wanted you to sleep a little longer.”
Shen Zhibing bit her lip, looking at her back, suddenly feeling an urge to pounce on her from behind.
“Let’s go back.”
Qi Zheng turned around, a little surprised: “Not going out for a late-night snack?”
They rarely had a relatively complete block of time for a date, and they had originally planned to have something to eat at a nearby food stall after the movie.
Shen Zhibing felt a little guilty, but now there was something more tempting than a late-night snack, and she knew exactly how to choose: “Suddenly I want to go back. How about you?”
Qi Zheng, of course, didn’t mind, assuming Shen Zhibing was sleepy, especially since she had just fallen asleep in the movie theater.
After the two arrived home and finished showering, they lay down. Shen Zhibing immediately snuggled up close to Qi Zheng.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to come back early? Why aren’t you sleeping now?”
Shen Zhibing had showered first, and Qi Zheng thought she should have been asleep by now.
“I said I wanted to come back early, but I didn’t say it was because I wanted to sleep.”
Qi Zheng looked down at her own pajamas and instantly understood.
She smiled at Shen Zhibing but pretended to be confused: “If you’re not sleepy, why were you in such a rush to come back? Could it be because you wanted to play with the buttons on my pajamas?”
Shen Zhibing narrowed her eyes, realizing she was being deliberately teased. So, she simply stopped going back and forth and decisively unbuttoned them all.
Qi Zheng felt a slight chill. Although the room was kept at a constant temperature, it wouldn’t truly affect the body’s sensation. But she knew very well that Shen Zhibing’s actions were definitely not meant to help her fall asleep better.
Slender fingers wandered freely. It was then that Qi Zheng truly noticed a change: somehow, Shen Zhibing had trimmed her nails and filed them smooth and round.
“What exactly do you want to do?”
Shen Zhibing was half-pressing on her, leaning in extremely close, speaking in a cat-like whisper: “I want to have my late-night snack.”
Qi Zheng’s ear felt moist. The hands wrapped around Shen Zhibing’s lower back tightened their grip, leaving no more space between them to advance.
Without waiting for her reply, Shen Zhibing flipped over and pressed down directly. Although it was a commanding action, Qi Zheng somehow noticed her nervousness. She held Shen Zhibing’s waist and chuckled: “Aren’t you afraid of not being able to get up tomorrow?”
“It’s a day off tomorrow anyway.”
“Didn’t we agree to have morning tea and then go shopping?”
Shen Zhibing insisted on preparing some things for Qi Zheng’s business trip. Although there were things at home, they needed a reason to go shopping, so they had arranged both Friday and Saturday.
“Morning tea can be skipped. It’s still early enough to go shopping at noon.”
Qi Zheng raised an eyebrow, realizing everything was planned out.
Shen Zhibing leaned in and kissed her, tenderly and closely, with a heart full of love.
Qi Zheng didn’t deliberately resist. It was normal for two people to give and take in a relationship. However, Shen Zhibing’s technique…
Qi Zheng felt a tickle on her neck because of her actions and couldn’t help but laugh. The person who was busy lifted her head slightly, looking a little resentful and embarrassed.
Qi Zheng had to soothe her: “It’s just that I feel ticklish myself.”
I absolutely didn’t mean to say your technique wasn’t good.
Shen Zhibing gave a soft ‘hum,’ suddenly recalling something: “You call me CEO Shen outside, but you can’t call me that at home later.”
“Not even my name?”
“You can… but…” Shen Zhibing’s ability to imitate wasn’t bad. She clearly remembered the steps Qi Zheng had taught her in her memory.
However, seeing and doing are two different things. It was like when she taught Qi Zheng to play golf; the effect was always lacking without a few hands-on tries.
Qi Zheng’s breathing became ragged, but Shen Zhibing still couldn’t grasp the essentials. The usually patient and gentle person, however, didn’t wait any longer, flipping over to regain the initiative.
“You!”
Qi Zheng smiled and kissed her earlobe, definitely feeling her tremble.
“I guess I’ll have to demonstrate it again tonight.”
With that, Qi Zheng began her patient instruction, every step meticulous and real, every spot lingered upon to leave a deep impression. Shen Zhibing’s consciousness began to fade, but the joy in her heart did not diminish at all.
She raised her hand to grip the bedpost. This one was different in style from the bed at the suburban villa, making her feel like she had nowhere to anchor herself.
Fearing she might hurt herself, Qi Zheng reached out and brought her hand back. Then, just like she had done during the golf lesson, she held her hand, teaching her, little by little, how to enter the hole.
In the second before losing consciousness, Shen Zhibing clearly heard what Qi Zheng said in her ear.
She said: “You are my beautiful elder sister, and also my lovely leader.”
Then, Shen Zhibing cried uncontrollably, responding to Qi Zheng’s love with her own intensity.
Sometimes Shen Zhibing found it strange why, even though she was the one who fell asleep first, she would always wake up earlier than Qi Zheng the next day. But she actually liked this feeling. Qi Zheng was probably tired last night too and hadn’t put her pajamas back on.
Fearing she might get cold, Shen Zhibing tugged the blanket, covering her shoulders. But just quietly looking at her was no longer enough to satisfy the stirring in her heart. She snuggled closer, gently resting her head on Qi Zheng’s shoulder and hugging her.
Qi Zheng only frowned but didn’t move, still sound asleep. Shen Zhibing kissed the spot on her shoulder twice through the blanket, then nestled against her, feeling safe.
It was already Saturday. Tomorrow afternoon, Qi Zheng would be leaving for Yongcheng on a business trip. Even though the city wasn’t far, and even though she herself often traveled there for work, this time she just felt that Yongcheng was annoying.
When Qi Zheng woke up, they chatted in bed for a while, talking about meaningless trivial things. By the time they actually got up, it was almost lunchtime.
Before Qi Zheng went to wash up, she said: “Leader, your time management last night was truly accurate.”
Hearing her say this suddenly, Shen Zhibing’s memories from last night became vividly clear. The moment’s surge had given her such an impact that it was unforgettable.
Aunt Xin was very happy that Qi Zheng had been staying at Yunlu Huayuan recently. Although the third miss hadn’t explicitly said so, the place had clearly started to have Qi Zheng’s presence. Her things were gradually increasing, and the relationship between the two was much closer than before.
Hearing that Qi Zheng was going on a business trip next week, Aunt Xin felt a bit reluctant, but apparently not as much as the third miss.
“Aunt Xin, we won’t be back for dinner tonight, no need to prepare.”
Shen Zhibing had the driver take them to the mall, then told him to leave first.
“We’re not in a hurry, let’s take our time shopping.” Shen Zhibing hadn’t had such a leisurely weekend in a long time. For her, it was happier than closing a big deal.
Qi Zheng bought two cups of bubble tea, choosing the sugar-free option, which made it feel more like a shopping trip.
“I won’t be away for long on the business trip, no need to bring too many things.”
Shen Zhibing unknowingly bought quite a lot. In addition to what Qi Zheng was holding, she herself carried several bags.
“It’s not all for the business trip. You’ll use it later too, so we bought them together.”
Qi Zheng never knew there was so much to consider, from underwear and socks to shoes.
Even for bath towels, Shen Zhibing pulled her along to choose. By the time they finished shopping, it was almost evening.
“There’s a fresh food supermarket on the basement level. Let’s go buy something to cook at home.”
Shen Zhibing certainly wouldn’t object to Qi Zheng’s suggestion. However, when she said they wouldn’t be back for dinner before leaving, Qi Zheng hadn’t said anything either.
Seeing her hesitation, Qi Zheng smiled: “Your place isn’t the only home; my apartment isn’t far from here. We’ll go there in a bit.”
Shen Zhibing smiled and went grocery shopping with her. To save time, they mostly chose pre-cut, prepared vegetables that they could simply stir-fry at home. Even so, Shen Zhibing still found such a day very warm and enjoyable.
It was more flavorful and touching than all the delicacies she ate daily.
Qi Zheng was busy in the kitchen wearing an apron, while Shen Zhibing sorted and organized the things they bought today. Some were needed for the business trip, so they were put into Qi Zheng’s suitcase; others that would be used later would be taken back to Yunlu Huayuan.
Although this was also Qi Zheng’s home, she hoped Qi Zheng would spend more time at her place.
“Do you want me to ask Uncle Yu to help you?” Shen Zhibing had thought of this before but never said anything. Seeing Qi Zheng always taking taxis recently, she still felt it wasn’t convenient enough.
“The company car license has been processed and will be ready for use next week. I can’t take Shen’s investment and still use Shen’s dedicated car; it would look bad.”
Realizing that Qi Zheng wasn’t hesitant but genuinely had a car available, Shen Zhibing felt relieved: “You’ll definitely have more social engagements in the future. It’s indeed inconvenient without a car and driver. If you need a car, just tell me anytime.”
Qi Zheng smiled and put some food on her plate, comforting her: “You’re practically covering my food, clothing, housing, and transportation now. Aren’t you annoyed?”
Shen Zhibing gave her a gentle glare, but her words were honest: “Being able to arrange these things for you, I feel very happy and very satisfied.”
After finishing dinner and tidying up, they agreed that Qi Zheng would take her things to Yunlu Huayuan and leave for the airport from there tomorrow. But she received a call before leaving, needing to deal with some matters immediately. Li Yunshan even told her to keep the video call on.
Qi Zheng looked helplessly at Shen Zhibing: “I can’t come over tonight. I’ll stay here.”
Shen Zhibing also wanted to stay, but she had things to deal with on her end too. If she waited for her to bring her things over, they might have to stay up until the middle of the night.
Despite their reluctance, they ended up sleeping apart the night before the business trip.
Aunt Xin saw Shen Zhibing return with many things but no sign of Qi Zheng: “Miss Qi didn’t come back?”
“She has work to deal with.”
Aunt Xin observed Shen Zhibing, seeing that she was only a little tired but no longer as disappointed and hurt as she had been a while ago. After all, they were still in the passionate phase of a relationship, certainly wishing they could stick together 24/7.
In all these years, it was the first time Aunt Xin had seen the third miss looking so dependent.
Bringing over a late-night snack, Aunt Xin didn’t want to spoil the mood but had to inform her: “The main house called tonight, saying they want you to go back tomorrow.”
Shen Zhibing frowned, tomorrow?
“When?”
“They said they want you back for lunch.”
Lunch meant she wouldn’t have time to see Qi Zheng off in the afternoon. Shen Zhibing felt even more displeased; this clearly didn’t follow her pattern of going back every other week.
