Transmigrating As a Poor Fake Heiress with Trillions in Family Asset - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Accompanying Sang Jing to the Wen residence was her new assistant, Zuo Wei.
Zuo Wei had heard of Sang Jing before. She had a friend who followed the gossip of the elite circles closely and had channels to get the “inside scoop” on their world. When Zuo Wei applied for the job, she didn’t realize she would become Sang Jing’s assistant; seeing the high salary, she had happily signed on.
Upon discovering her boss’s identity, she had been contemplating whether to resign and find another job.
Following Sang Jing into the Wen home now, she felt uneasy. After all, the Wen family was wealthy—would they even bother with a Sang Jing who had been ousted from the An family? Besides, “online shopping” sounded rather unreliable. Zuo Wei was already mentally prepared to quit.
Even Wen Qin’s father hadn’t originally intended to see Sang Jing.
“Sweetheart, Daddy is very busy with work. You can take your friend somewhere else to play,” he told his daughter.
Wen Qin replied, “But Daddy, she’s here specifically to talk to you about work. She says she can sell all our company’s stagnant inventory online.”
This gave Mr. Wen even more of a headache. He didn’t know why his daughter was so unlike him; she was simple and pure-minded. Even though Sang Jing hadn’t been particularly kind to her—and had even manipulated her at times—Wen Qin remained steadfast in the friendship.
Now that Sang Jing had been kicked out of the An family and even changed her name, what could a socialite who only knew how to live a life of luxury do? How could she suddenly become a business elite overnight?
“Daddy!” Wen Qin looked at her father. “Just see her. What if she really has a way?”
Mr. Wen sighed. “Fine, I’ll see her this once. But don’t interrupt my work with things like this again, okay?”
…
When Sang Jing finally met Mr. Wen, the CEO didn’t even bother to hide the dismissiveness in his eyes. Sang Jing didn’t mind; her predecessor had indeed been a “villainess” who never did a day of honest work.
However, Sang Jing felt no guilt over the original host’s past. She wore a smoke-blue dress cinched at the waist, her natural curls draped casually over her shoulders. Her expression was calm and composed.
She produced a folder and handed over an introduction to her app along with a draft contract.
“Uncle Wen, this is our draft contract. You can look it over, and if you have any questions, you can ask me now.”
Sang Jing got straight to the point, skipping the small talk. She knew that no matter how much she chatted, no one would listen; only a practical partnership could move someone like him.
“Actually, this cooperation won’t cost you much. At worst, the goods will remain unsold in the warehouse. Furthermore, we won’t squeeze your prices; we will simply reduce our own profit margins to strive for high volume with low margins.”
Mr. Wen had indeed been distraught over the excess inventory lately, and the company’s cash flow was starting to tighten. Admittedly, while he initially didn’t believe Sang Jing could achieve anything, seeing the proposal and the draft contract made him feel a spark of interest. Still, he had significant doubts.
“We have never tried a service like online sales before.”
A faint smile touched the corners of Sang Jing’s lips. Her eyes radiated confidence, and she spoke at a measured, unhurried pace, appearing like a seasoned veteran of the business world—much to the surprise of the father and daughter.
“If our companies cooperate, we will provide your company with a 10 million yuan deposit. This means that if the total sales on the day of the event do not reach 10 million, our company will make up the difference to complete the order.”
This meant that, no matter what, they were guaranteed at least 10 million in orders. While 10 million wasn’t a massive sum for the Wen Group, it was still 10 million—enough to solve some minor problems.
Mr. Wen thought for a moment and raised another concern.
“If your app launches and actually succeeds, it will have a major impact on the Kou family’s shopping malls, won’t it?”
Most of the Wen family’s clothing brands were sold through stores in the Kou family’s malls. It would definitely have an impact; in Sang Jing’s original world, e-commerce had hit physical retail hard.
But Sang Jing wasn’t worried. In the original book, Kou Yan was a “love-brain”—or rather, everyone in the book was. No one was actually focused on their careers. Kou Yan would later be entangled in a love triangle with the leads; he’d be too busy fighting the male lead to care about business. Why would he notice a minor supporting character like her, who had detached herself from the drama since the beginning?
So, Sang Jing said confidently, “Don’t worry, there won’t be any issues with the Kou family.”
Mr. Wen immediately assumed Sang Jing might have some sort of cooperation with the Kou family as well. This put his mind at ease, and he decided to sign the contract. Of course, he still didn’t have much faith in her success; he assumed she was just acting out because she had been abandoned by the An family. He was simply interested in the guaranteed 10 million in sales.
His guess was wrong, though. Sang Jing had no connection to the Kou family.
While she appeared to be a cool-headed, career-driven woman, in her previous life, she had actually been a pampered young lady protected by her parents. Furthermore, she lacked a sense of “awe” for this fictional world, feeling that since she knew the plot, she was in total control. She was, perhaps, a bit too overconfident and hasty.
Regardless, the cooperation was a success. The Wen family began sending staff to negotiate specific terms.
…
As they left the Wen residence, Wen Qin promised they would hang out once things got less busy, and Sang Jing happily agreed. She then got into the car with her assistant.
Zuo Wei’s heart was still pounding. She hadn’t expected Sang Jing to hold her own so well against CEO Wen. Even more shocking was that Sang Jing had offered a 10-million-yuan deposit right out of the gate! Zuo Wei wasn’t a naive graduate; her work experience allowed her to see Sang Jing’s potential, filling her with newfound confidence. Perhaps this was what “charisma” looked like.
Meanwhile, Sang Jing was staring at a transparent screen in front of her, stunned!
Just now, after concluding the deal with Mr. Wen, the system informed her that the plot for her character had deviated by 1%. The shift finally gave her a sense of relief.
Then, a reward box popped up:
Congratulations to the host for deviating from the original plot. Reward granted: ‘Dialogue with Goods.’ The host can use the system to talk to products to understand their characteristics and authenticity.
Sang Jing hadn’t expected such a feature! This meant she could ensure the shopping app remained free of counterfeits! It was an unexpected windfall.
…
While Sang Jing was busy working, An Siyuan was in the midst of intensive learning.
Though An Siyuan was kind and pure-hearted, she had lived in the slums for over twenty years. She lacked the habits and etiquette of high society. She had to take crash courses in various subjects to look like a proper wealthy heiress.
During this time, she was also worried about her foster parents. Although they hadn’t provided her with a good life or education, they had raised her for twenty years, and she was grateful. She didn’t know where they had moved, but she assumed that following Sang Jing wouldn’t lead to a good life.
An Siyuan wanted to find them a job. Now that she was the An family’s daughter, surely the family could provide a position for them.
At a small social gathering, An Siyuan decided to ask her parents about this. Madam Yan, whose family was allied with the An family through marriage, was also present. The Yan family had been engaged to the An family for six months, though the wedding was set for a year later.
Madam Yan was currently sighing. “It’s a good thing the wedding was postponed, or we would have married the wrong person.”
Madam An agreed, “Yes, I always wondered why Sang Jing didn’t resemble my husband or me. Her personality was so perverse. Now I understand—she wasn’t ours after all.”
Seeing An Siyuan come downstairs, Madam An smiled. “Siyuan, come here and meet your future mother-in-law.”
Madam Yan looked up and was very satisfied. With such a gentle and lovely girl, surely her son would change his mind and stop liking that fallen Sang Jing.
