- Transmigrated into the Zerg Race: Didn't We Agree to Call Off the Engagement?
- Chapter 9 - Consolation
Humanity Takes the Lead
Cyril was crying far too hard. Whether in human society or among the Zerg, Sirius had never seen anything like it. At most, when Julian showcased his beauty, he would deliberately let a few teardrops fall, looking both fragile and seductive.
But Cyril was different; he was simply venting his emotions. This was actually a good thing; at least he could use crying to release his feelings. Sirius held his shoulders tight, patting him gently and waiting quietly for his emotions to stabilize.
“Why think that way? This is not entirely your fault, is it?”
“When I used this starship, I was lazy and did not check it in advance; it is a fact that I did not know how to operate it. You already refused, yet I still used the matter of going to the Central Star to threaten you; that is also a fact. Now that these things have occurred, there is no point in assigning blame anymore, is there?”
“There are only the two of us here. Only our two bugs are in this place. I would rather you be a little happier. We still have to find a way to leave this place, right?”
Cyril leaned against Sirius’s shoulder. Because of the height difference, he ended up rubbing his tears onto Sirius. A white shirt that had been neatly tucked under his outer clothes, clean as new, was now stained with tear marks.
He buried himself there and gave a muffled hum of agreement.
“I found a place where we will stay later. In my coat pocket, you know, it is in your pocket now, there is a food converter in that small space. It has enough for us to live on for a very long time.”
“I remember that when we fell, the starship had already begun plummeting toward the planet. Since we are here, the starship should be nearby. It is very sturdy; it must still be intact. This is a good thing. It means we only need to stay here for a few days, find the starship, and then we can get out.”
Sirius ran his hand through Cyril’s hair. “Unfortunately, I did not bring a change of clothes. However, there are blankets in the tent. I can use the duvet covers to make clothes for you, but they might be a bit ugly. You will not cry about that, will you?”
“No, I am not crying.”
“I know. You are a male after all, my dear Lord.”
Cyril’s grip tightened, clutching Sirius with enough force to cause a bit of pain. He lifted his head, revealing his bloodshot eyes to Sirius without reservation as tears fell silently once again.
Normally, he would have hidden or put on a domineering front, but unexpectedly, he remained expressionless, staring straight at Sirius.
“You were clearly so impatient before. Why are you being so good to me now after I treated you like that?”
“Is it because you pity me? Do you pity me because my rank is low, because I cannot do anything right, and because I only bring trouble to other bugs?”
In Zerg society, pity was not a good thing. They were born to pursue the strong. Compassion for the weak was often synonymous with ridicule or insult; it was something that made a bug unable to hold their head up.
Therefore, Sirius lifted Cyril’s chin.
“I simply envy you. I think you are wonderful.”
“You see, you are very honest about telling me your thoughts and emotions. Compared to being flawless, I prefer a soul that is open and sincere. Cyril, I am starting to like you now.”
Now, with no other interference, they were stranded on a desolate planet with no news from the outside world. Sirius and Cyril might not even be able to leave for a lifetime. All the noise had been cut off, leaving only him and a pathetic, transparent little male.
Humanity once again took the lead.
“Can you tell me why you think I would view you that way?”
Sirius did not explain why he was envious, and Cyril did not think to ask.
“I am a B-rank male, but my father is an S-rank male. I am the offspring of an S-rank male and an SS-rank female, but I am only a B-rank. Even then, I still have defects.”
Cyril lowered his head again.
“Sirius, I have never heard of a male having such a low rank under these circumstances. Sirius, I am a failure.”
“My mother was also despised and marginalized because of me. I worked very hard; I really wanted to be useful. I, I…”
He choked up, unable to speak further.
Sirius showed extraordinary patience, holding him close. “You are actually very great. This is not your problem; it is a matter of innate conditions. You are still a very good bug, are you not?”
“Even though I offended you many times, you did not truly get angry, did you?”
At this moment, Sirius was forgiving, kind, and reliable. Cyril instinctively trusted and relied on him, so he naturally began to speak of his inner troubles.
“I, I have been searching for a way.” Cyril sniffed. “But my mental power will not increase no matter what. I tried to make myself strong, but my innate defects make it hard for me to exert myself. So, I tried to become popular instead.”
“I listened to my father very well, but, but he said I was not independent enough. To him, I am a complete stain. He does not like me. He drove me and my mother away together. Later, he said I only had one final use left.”
“But!” Cyril looked up. “I really, I really do not want to. I do not want to be sent away to be a plaything for a high-ranking female.”
“Sirius, I will lose my life.”
“Sirius!”
He gripped Sirius’s back tightly, his body trembling involuntarily as if he were thinking of something terrifying.
His speech was somewhat incoherent, but Sirius understood completely. Because his rank was low, he was to be used in a trade for the interests of a high-ranking female. No wonder Cyril fled for his life; this was indeed terrifying for him.
Zerg ranks differed between males and females. Females ranged from B to SSS, while males ranged from C to S. They could match with a female across two ranks. Once that limit was exceeded, the lower-ranking party would lose control during intimacy.
If the other party did not stop, it was very likely that after the peak of emotion, the lower-ranking bug would wither away like a dried leaf.
Cyril was a B-rank male. He could not be with an SSS-rank female, let alone be given to one.
They should not be joined together. Since that female agreed to this, it meant she did not care what happened to the male; she only wanted to conceive.
Cyril would be broken by her.
“Do not be afraid.” Sirius held the trembling male a little tighter, their necks touching so Cyril could clearly hear the sound of his pulse. “Now we are in a place where no one can find us. There are only the two of us here. You do not need to worry.”
“Tell me, is the other party a military female?”
Only a military female would disregard a male’s life like this. Only military females required high-ranking males to expend such effort, even sacrificing a young male, to exchange for influence within the military department.
“Yes.”
As expected.
Cyril’s affirmative answer made Sirius frown.
To be honest, the relationship between males and females was currently stable. One side relied on the Central Mainframe to establish laws and rules, while the other relied on the War Mainframe to control absolute power.
However, it was the nature of the Zerg never to feel satisfied. All living things have ambition, but theirs was particularly obvious. They would never be satisfied with what they had obtained; this was also a result of the Mainframe’s indulgence.
The development path of the entire Zerg race was a history of evil and filthy expansion. They were blinded by greed and their desires were insatiable; the baseness of primitive beasts was exposed without any concealment.
“It is alright,” Sirius said with certainty. “I will help you. Do not worry. I am fully capable of protecting you. Now, go and rest, alright?”
Sirius cupped Cyril’s face with both hands as if he were a precious object, looking at him with gentleness and care.
“You have worked very hard. Have a good sleep and listen to me, alright?”
Cyril was very obedient, surprisingly so.
He followed Sirius into the tent submissively. This was a single-bug tent, but it was fully equipped with various items: a bed, table, chair, and lamp. Except for a kitchen, everything that should appear in a single room was there.
Sirius led Cyril to the bed. He sat there quietly. His clothes had long been in tatters, so now he only had Sirius’s clothes to use as pajamas.
Sitting there, the curves of his legs were completely exposed. He seemed to be in a better mood now, occasionally swinging his lower legs. His fleshy thighs showed a visible tremor.
The pink-haired male was white with a hint of pink all over his body.
Sirius sat at the table, took the scissors from the medical kit, and began cutting the fabric according to the areas he had marked.
Of course, no matter where he was, Sirius did not know how to make clothes. However, he knew how to cut holes for the head and limbs out of the fabric and then tie it tight.
“It is done.” Sirius stood up and walked toward Cyril with the crude garment. Cyril stood up obediently. Without waiting for Sirius to speak, he took it upon himself to shed his tattered clothing.
When Sirius looked over, the boy was looking at him innocently, completely unaware that anything was wrong.
Sirius averted his gaze.
“There is a bathroom over there. Go take a bath, relax, and then put the clothes on.”
“Okay.” Cyril obediently took Sirius’s handmade primitive clothes and walked into the bathroom. Hearing the door close, Sirius finally breathed a sigh of relief. He instinctively glanced over, but in the next second, he regretted his action.
The Zerg truly used every possible means to increase the birth rate.
The bathroom in the tent was actually designed to become transparent as soon as it came into contact with water!
Sirius hurriedly turned his head away and searched through the manual. Finally, before Cyril finished washing, he found the button to turn off this feature, allowing him to maintain his humanity.
After bathing, Cyril crawled into the bed smelling fresh. The blanket without a cover was still soft, comfortable, silky, and smooth. It felt a bit cool at first touch but soon became warm.
This time Cyril did not cause trouble. He leaned against Sirius, hugging his arm, and soon fell asleep.
He was exhausted and injured. Even though he was healed, it had taken a toll on him. Moreover, the heavy crying afterward had consumed a lot of his energy.
Sirius was the one who suffered.
He could make a top, but he definitely could not make pants. Therefore, it was obvious that Cyril was half-exposed. He was asleep, but his legs were still resting against Sirius.
Sirius closed his eyes and secretly let his tail hook out to breathe. Amidst the ordeal, he finally drifted off to sleep.
When he opened his eyes again, the first thing he saw was a pair of sky-blue eyes. The first thought in his mind was: It is a good thing I did not leave the tail hook out to breathe.
Otherwise, he would have been very terrified.
