- Chapter 6 - How to To Please a Male?
Red Roses
Sirius’s thoughts were interrupted by the little pink-haired male. His sour mood instantly dissipated, and his gaze was drawn to the male, whom he could not help but study.
Height is linked to rank, and a male’s rank is primarily manifested through mental power. Typically, a male’s mental power is quite obvious, radiating around the body. This is the primary basis for judging gender, though Sirius was the exception.
He possessed immense mental power, but instead of radiating outward, it remained disciplined within his mind. Unless he chose to release it, almost no bug could detect it.
The male before him, however, was quite ordinary. Sirius could clearly sense that the boy’s mental power was faint; at most, it was a B-rank, and likely a flawed B-rank at that.
He was also notably short, a full head shorter than Sirius, forcing Sirius to look down at him.
“Of course I have seen one,” Sirius answered frankly.
Upon hearing this, the little pink-haired male immediately exploded. “If you have seen one, why are you staring at me!” As he spoke, he raised his foot to kick Sirius, only to have his ankle firmly caught.
“Of course I am looking. I have seen many males, but I have not seen you.”
He had never seen a male so simple and clumsy, not just among those he knew, but in the entire Zerg race.
The fact that this male had found him so soon after the other females left meant he had not been far away. Given the Zerg’s high-speed dynamic vision, the boy should have seen Sirius force those females to a halt. Even without Sirius releasing his mental power, he should have realized Sirius was different.
Yet, he did not doubt for a second; he simply followed his gut and labeled Sirius a female. Sirius had never encountered such stupidity.
“What is your name?”
The pink-haired male pursed his lips, the left corner of his mouth turning up in a smug grin. He lifted his other leg, pinning it against Sirius. “Hmph, do I have to tell you just because you asked?”
“Fine. Then I will not ask.”
Sirius released the boy’s ankle, dropped both legs back, and promptly canceled the autopilot. He gripped the steering wheel himself, using the act of driving to block the pink-haired male’s harassment, leaving the boy to stomp his feet in frustration.
“You really are a blockhead! Fine, I will not lower myself to your level.”
He took a deep breath. “Listen up. My name is Cyril. From now on, you are a candidate for my Female Sovereign!”
“Huh?”
“What are you talking about? When did I ever want to be your Female Sovereign?” Sirius’s gloomy mood was completely broken. He turned around in shock. Because he had let go of the controls, the sightseeing car, which should have soared over the canyon, suddenly began to plummet.
“Ah!” Cyril screamed in terror.
In the next moment, the vehicle charged upward, not only clearing the canyon but soaring through the air for a brief period before slamming heavily onto the ground. The two bugs sped away once more.
Having no seatbelt, Cyril had been clinging to the seat for dear life. He finally let go, performed a quick movement to right himself, and sat back down.
“You really, could you not just leave the autopilot on? I truly do not get it. How can there be a female like you? No romance, no charm; it is a waste of that handsome face.”
“But then again, you are lucky you ran into me.” Cyril stroked his chin and tilted his head back, his energy instantly returning. He looked at Sirius with a swagger. “I can teach you properly how to please a male, like me, for instance.”
Sirius gave him a calm look. He considered telling the boy that he was actually a male himself, but then he realized that this troublesome bug had already stuck to him. Even if he came clean, he would not be able to shake him off. In fact, knowing Sirius was a male might make Cyril even bolder in his pestering.
Besides, compared to females, males enjoyed higher rights to privacy and freedom.
Ultimately, Sirius said nothing and continued driving. Cyril, seemingly oblivious to Sirius’s disdain, gave two mock coughs and hoisted his leg up in front of Sirius.
“Here. Turn on the autopilot and give my leg a rub.”
“What are you looking at me for? This is all your fault. If you had not talked to them for so long, I would not have been curled up in that pit for ages. I am covered in dirt; anyone would think I have been eating it!”
“Besides, do you not want more physical contact with me?” Cyril confidently straightened his collar, tugging his clothes down suggestively.
Sirius was silent.
“No. Listen, Cyril.”
“Once we get back to the base, we go our separate ways. Whether you stay or go is up to you, but stop pestering me. Is that clear?”
Sirius spoke with rare bluntness, fearing the boy would not understand. Unfortunately, Cyril understood perfectly but chose to feign ignorance.
“Then let us leave right away!”
“Looking at your outfit, you must be here for mining. But people are chasing me, so we had better not stay. If you want to come back later, I suppose I could endure accompanying you one more time.”
“Let us see, which planet should we go to next?”
“To correct you, I am going alone.”
“I know you do not have any good ideas. How about H732? I heard the sun there is pink; it should be quite pretty.”
“Or we could go see the Aurora.”
“Stop! Stop! Stop!”
Sirius finally gave in. He turned on the autopilot and reached out to pinch Cyril’s mouth shut, finally achieving silence.
“Has no one ever told you that you are very noisy?” It was so noisy that Sirius felt rushed just to get a word in.
“Of course not!” Cyril became agitated. Rather than being truly angry, it felt like he was covering something up.
He stood up abruptly. “Do not be ungrateful! I might have some minor issues, but I am still a B-rank male. I can match an S-rank across two mental domains. You look like you are around that level too. You should be secretly rejoicing that I am even willing to talk to you!”
“Is that so? Then I am truly honored. I must take you to the Central Star for a tour; only the Butterfly Transformation Grounds of the Insect Mother are worthy of you, my noble Lord!”
Cyril, who had been bursting with pride a moment ago, suddenly looked like a goose caught by the neck, losing all his swagger. Of course, the Zerg did not actually have geese.
Cyril deflated instantly. “I do not want to go to the Central Star.”
“And why is that? Do you dislike it?” Seeing he had guessed correctly, Sirius pressed his advantage, teasingly raising an eyebrow. “What a pity. My next stop is the Central Star, my dear Lord Cyril.”
“It seems we cannot travel together. How tragic.”
Sirius looked as if he were very sad, hanging his head with a sigh. He peered at Cyril through narrowed eyes and, as expected, the boy looked deeply conflicted and hesitant.
He had reason to be. If Sirius guessed correctly, Cyril’s original destination was likely the Central Star. The ships passing by lately were all headed there, presumably connected to Cyril. Sirius had no intention of getting involved, but he was not blind. Given Cyril’s determination to hide, he certainly would not follow Sirius to the Central Star.
“Then, then,” Cyril’s eyes darted around as he thought. He flashed a very innocent smile. “Then just help me get to a populated Urban Star, and I will go my own way from there.”
“Thank you!”
Something was wrong.
Something was very wrong. Though they had not known each other long, Cyril was definitely not an easy-going bug. For him to agree so easily was abnormal, and he had actually thanked him.
Sirius looked at Cyril. The male smiled sweetly back, revealing a distinct dimple. His dirty appearance actually served to make his eyes look clearer.
They were a beautiful blue, like a bright, sunny morning.
Sirius decided to trust him for the time being.
Upon returning to the base, Cyril urgently demanded they leave immediately. Sirius, however, merely pulled out a handkerchief and slowly wiped the hand that had touched Cyril.
“I have been here for several days, and I appeared on the very path where they were chasing you. If I leave the moment you go missing, would that not make me look suspicious?”
“I guess that makes sense.”
Cyril hesitated but ultimately took Sirius’s advice. The two bugs prepared to leave the following day.
Sirius lived in the Male Apartments, which featured three rooms capable of housing other females. Sirius did not explicitly mention his status, but he did not hide it either. If Cyril were even slightly smarter, he would have noticed, but he saw nothing.
Inside the room.
Sirius and Julian maintained their routine of seeing each other once a day. Every night before bed, they met via virtual video, and tonight was no different.
Within the virtual space, Julian had simulated a sea of pink and blue flowers. He wore a white uniform with gold embroidery on the collar and cuffs, and two golden shoulder chains draped from his right shoulder.
White clouds, blue sky, dazzling platinum-blonde hair, and eyes as soft as emeralds; he looked at Sirius with a beaming smile.
It seemed that ever since Sirius had lost control of his emotions and told Julian to find someone else, Julian had become even more devoted.
“My Lord!”
The female approached him as usual with a smile. He was half a head shorter than Sirius, fitting perfectly against his shoulder. A sweet floral scent filled Sirius’s surroundings, and it did not seem to be coming from the sea of flowers.
The scent was very close. He instinctively leaned toward the source.
“Haha,” Julian gave a light laugh. “Does my Lord like this scent?”
“It is alright. Is it coming from you?”
Their consciousnesses were connected through light-brains, which provided touch and sound, but smell was usually not perceived.
Sirius sniffed again, confirming that there was indeed a faint fragrance on Julian.
Julian smiled and pulled two red flowers from his uniform chest pocket. “A bug recently developed a new species of rose. I heard it helps bugs relax. I thought you had been working hard lately, so I picked two before you arrived.”
“I wanted to help you relax, but it seems that isn’t necessary now.” Julian’s smile faded into a slightly aggrieved pout. “Did my Lord meet a very good female? You seem quite happy today. Is he better than Julian?”
“Sigh, I wish I could be by your side forever, then I could,” Julian’s hand rested on Sirius’s chest, his gaze naturally climbing upward until it settled lingeringly on the male’s eyelids.
Sirius always chose the bathroom for their video calls, and tonight was no exception.
