- Chapter 24 - Victor’s Abnormality
“Do you want to come with me?”
“Sirius, are you still busy? Have you been eating well? Should I bring you a meal?”
“Do not always be such a picky eater. Why do you dislike vegetables so much?”
The messages continued.
“Are you still sulking with Teacher? How about I make you some milk cookies?”
Since that incident, Elias seemed to have reached a realization, and the frequency of his calls to Sirius had increased.
Gripping the back of Victor’s neck, Sirius dodged his kiss and responded casually in his mind.
“No need.”
The optical brain was connected to his biological brain. With a single thought, the message was sent instantly.
“I am busy. We will talk later.”
Before he could see Elias’s reply, Victor’s eager kiss lunged forward again. Sirius, feeling impatient, turned him around and pressed him against the table in front of the seat.
“Don’t you ever get tired of this?”
With his face pressed against the cold table, Victor stretched his neck and gasped for breath. After a brief moment to recover, he twisted his head back to look at Sirius. “This was part of the cooperation from the start, was it not? Or are you still thinking about that fiancé of yours while you are with me?”
“A fiancé. I do not know who is more ridiculous, him or you.”
“Is there no female insect capable of seizing the opportunity?”
“Shut up!”
Sirius pressed down harder on his neck. The female insect’s calves tensed as the fabric hanging by his feet slipped away. He tried to speak, but pants escaped him first. Victor simply stopped talking. He clutched his slightly protruding abdomen, exerted strength in his waist, and suddenly lunged up from the table to kiss Sirius again.
He could not speak, so he would not let Sirius speak either.
Because his lower body was positioned forward while his upper body reached for the male, Victor’s waist was twisted to a terrifying degree. Yet he seemed to feel nothing, immersed entirely in licking the wound on the corner of Sirius’s lips.
Since Victor had no complaints, Sirius did not bother to manage him further. After all, a large military insect was quite heavy, and moving him required significant effort.
“The moment your fiancé is mentioned, you suddenly get so excited. Hmm.”
Victor had turned around now, facing Sirius. He provocatively pressed the green blood from his lip against Sirius’s earlobe. “What, is he that special?”
“I feel like you are the special one.” Sirius patted his thigh. “You always seem to like mentioning other insects. Is it because you are older and jealous of Lex being young and promising?”
Victor tightened his grip fiercely.
Sirius let out a muffled groan. To the female insect, it sounded like a beautiful melody, and he subconsciously repeated his movements.
“So what if he is young? Does he treat you as well as I do?”
“Can he help you like I can? He is just an ordinary military insect who cannot think independently and only follows the orders of the Military Department. We will see if his loyalty lies with the Military Department or with you.”
Lex was a typical military insect. His loyalty was the very foundation of why the War Mainframe selected him. Without orders from the Mainframe, he would resolutely execute the commands of the Military Department rather than those of a male master. In fact, all captains were supposed to possess this trait; only Victor was the outlier.
But Sirius liked loyalty.
“You do not need to worry so much for me.”
“If I were not cooperating with you, who would care about you? He is your future First Spouse and was supposed to provide us with support. Instead, he just occupies the position without doing anything and might even hold us back. What is wrong with me saying a few words?”
“If that is the reason, then you really do not need to care.” Sirius lowered his head and retaliated against the female insect’s neck, speaking indistinctly. “If I can pull down a councilor, I can pull down the Chairman. I have my own means. I do not need my First Spouse to bring me anything, as long as he makes me happy.”
“And.”
Victor’s face darkened, unwilling to continue listening to Sirius. His parted legs straddled Sirius’s, kneeling on either side of the wide chair. He opened his mouth and bit down on the male’s chin. Appearing alongside the pain was the rest of Sirius’s sentence.
“I am going to break off the engagement with him. There is no need for you to worry that I will use you to pave the way for him.”
Victor trembled as he placed his hands on Sirius’s shoulders. His fierce expression instantly softened. He changed the bite into a kiss, their noses brushing against each other as he nuzzled gently. “You have no reason to lie to me, right?”
“Do you think I will make you happy?”
Sirius did not speak, but his hand tightened around Victor’s thigh.
Was it an illusion? Victor seemed a bit off.
Julian’s Film Set
The scene being filmed today featured the protagonist military insect returning from a mission. Julian was waiting at the port for the warship to dock.
The virtual warship approached from a distance and hovered in mid-air. As the elevator descended, Julian, acting as a male insect, rushed forward impatiently and embraced the first military insect to step down.
The insects surrounding the set were moved to tears, remarking on how touching the scene was. Sirius sat to one side, watching the scene silently.
Was it because of their emotional deficiency that even such a common scene could be so moving?
Female insects around the area kept looking toward Sirius. High-ranking males almost never worked in the entertainment industry; they preferred politics, economics, or, in a few cases, scientific research.
The female insects were gossiping.
“They said the script was designed based on this Excellency. I used to think such an Excellency could not exist, let alone a high-ranking male like him. I never expected him to actually come to the set to watch Julian’s performance. It is so romantic.”
“I am starting to believe the romantic story between him and the military insect. It has been a month. Although his Excellency has other female insects around him, he really did wait for a month.”
“Actually, rather than saying he waited for a month, it is more that his Excellency was willing to be engaged to a military insect despite knowing the situation. SSS class females are usually only paired with S class males. The position of a secondary spouse should have been enough.”
Several female staff members gathered to whisper, and every word reached Sirius’s ears. They might not have been present last time, and since the production team’s confidentiality was good, they did not know Sirius intended to break the engagement.
He subconsciously frowned, only to see the screenwriter from before rush over to them.
“Shut up! Whether his Excellency is romantic or not is none of your business. If he breaks off the engagement with that military insect, you better not start blaming his Excellency!”
“Of course not,” one replied. “But why would his Excellency wait until the military insect returns to break the engagement?”
Yes, why?
The screenwriter thought about it. If they asked Julian or his Excellency directly, perhaps they could write a new script.
One insect speculated, “Maybe it is because of Julian. Could it be that he coaxed his Excellency into choosing him as the First Spouse?”
“His rank is not high enough. How could an S class male choose a female insect of a lower rank as his First Spouse? If he can do it, so can I.” The screenwriter joined in, and as they chatted, their voices grew louder. Sirius coughed twice.
The screenwriter reacted immediately, tapped each of them on the head, warned them not to gossip about his Excellency or leak his affairs, and then hurried to Sirius’s side to offer attentive care.
Sirius nodded perfunctorily, his gaze following Julian. “There is no need to hide the news about me and Julian. Being my First Spouse is nothing to be ashamed of.”
The screenwriter nodded blankly, eyes fixed on Sirius.
That indifferent gaze, those slightly pursed lips. He did not even look at the screenwriter. Under that gentle exterior lay such a cold personality.
The female insect’s cheeks turned slightly pink. After not hearing a response for a while, Sirius turned his head impatiently. “Is that not allowed?”
“Ah, no, no, no.” The screenwriter snapped back to reality, face full of smiles. “It is allowed, of course it is allowed.”
“What is allowed? What did I just say?”
“You said… you said you… ah, no, it was Julian. Julian.”
The screenwriter stammered while watching Sirius’s expression, uncertainly uttering a few syllables. Sirius rubbed his forehead and turned his head back.
“I said to make my relationship with Julian public. There is no need for us to hide it, and there is no need for you to keep it a secret.”
He was becoming impatient. Fearing his irritation, the screenwriter apologized repeatedly and promised not to do it again, though they did not take it to heart.
It was likely just a secondary spouse position. No one would care if it were announced. Are there not plenty of secondary spouses who are abandoned by males? The screenwriter had not heard the title Sirius used earlier, and Sirius did not continue the conversation.
Sirius looked up, continuing to watch Julian on set. Taking advantage of a scene change, Julian winked at Sirius.
He was very popular. On one hand, it was his appearance. He was strikingly beautiful. The Insect Race did not really have many unattractive members, but Julian stood out instantly in a crowd. His beauty was eye-catching.
On the other hand, it was his personality. He was excellent at reading the room and making himself likable. All female insects knew that males liked his type, though some would bitterly remark that his rank was low and that no matter how good-looking he was, he would never become a First Spouse and would eventually be discarded.
However, based on data and popularity, even if insects said such things, it did not hinder Julian’s fame. They all tried to learn from and imitate him.
The bright female insect had just finished a scene. After embracing another female insect over thirty times, the director finally gave a grudging approval. If it were Sirius, he probably would never want to embrace anyone again. Victor was always kissing him, and he already felt like he never wanted to kiss anyone again.
But Julian did not feel that way. He seemed full of spirit as he spread his arms from a distance and ran toward Sirius. He hugged the male’s waist, half-knelt beside Sirius, and rested his face on Sirius’s leg.
“Master came to see me again, hehe.”
The beautiful female insect looked up at him. One of his cheeks was pressed into a small dimple. Sirius sat there, absentmindedly stroking the exposed cheek. The smooth skin felt good to the touch, and the female insect carried a pleasant scent of roses. Sirius seemed very relaxed as he spoke casually.
“Lex returns today. I am going to break off the engagement with him. Do you want to come with me?”
