Transmigrated into the Villainous Scummy Alpha in a Talent Show Novel - Chapter 19
Silently nodding, Lin Qi raised her hand to touch her already swollen cheek. Even the lightest touch sent a sharp pain through her, causing her usually smiling face to darken. In a low voice, she muttered, “Fine, I’ll leave.”
Without any hesitation, she turned and slammed the door behind her. The loud bang echoed as she stepped out of the dormitory building.
The sky had already darkened. It was that transitional period between spring and summer, and the cool breeze brushed against her tense cheeks, offering a slight sense of relief.
But Lin Qi was still seething with anger, feeling both wronged and heartbroken. In both her past life and this one, she had never been slapped before. Now her pretty face was swollen, which only made her vanity flare up even more.
Do people really think they can treat others like fools if they don’t get angry?
Taking out her frustration on the ground beneath her feet, Lin Qi stomped hard a few times, grinding her teeth in fury.
Why?
Why did Jiang Ming slap her?
So what if she pulled her pants down? Did Jiang Ming have something she didn’t? They were both girls was looking at her going to make her pregnant?
Though she didn’t fully understand the ABO world’s dynamics, Lin Qi at least knew that neither of them had presented yet, which meant they were just like two ordinary girls from her original world. What was the big deal about pulling down her pants?
Her eyes reddened with anger as she wiped away her tears. Despite her mental age of twenty-seven, she cried like the eighteen-year-old she now was, looking as pitiful as a crumpled Shar-Pei.
Sitting on a bench, she recalled the first day she arrived here, when she had accidentally grabbed Jiang Ming’s hand, unexpectedly bringing them closer.
That day, Jiang Ming had acted the same way completely disregarding her, using her elbow to push herself up, pressing right against Lin Qi’s ribs.
The phantom pain seemed to return, and Lin Qi thought bitterly, Does Jiang Ming still see me as the same detestable “Lin Qi” from before?
What had all her efforts these past days been for?
Their relationship hadn’t improved at all. Lin Qi shook her head with a bitter laugh, feeling like a complete joke.
As she leaned back on the bench, her stomach growled loudly. Only then did she remember that the food she had bought was still in the dorm. Sighing, she got up, deciding to head to the cafeteria for another meal.
Without her phone, she had no idea what time it was. Dragging her exhausted body to the now-darkened cafeteria, Lin Qi’s expression darkened even further.
Even the cafeteria is bullying me??
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she unwillingly trudged to the convenience store instead. She bought a high-calorie instant noodle cup something she’d normally never touch, as a way to treat herself. Consider it compensation for that slap, she thought.
She also grabbed a bottle of ice-cold water to press against her swollen cheek. Under the shopkeeper’s concerned gaze, the middle-aged woman asked, “Sweetie, what happened to your face?”
Forcing a smile, Lin Qi replied, “Choreography practice. Got a little too into it and ended up getting slapped too hard.”
The woman clicked her tongue sympathetically before digging out the coldest bottle from the bottom of the fridge. “Here, take this one. It’s much colder.”
“Thank you, Auntie!”
Touched by the stranger’s kindness, Lin Qi’s eyes welled up again. Wiping her tears, she sniffled, “Auntie, do you have hot water here? Could you help me make the noodles?”
“Had a fight with your roommate?”
Pressing her lips together, Lin Qi seemed to forget all her acting skills as she quickly turned away, her performance painfully obvious. “No, we’re fine.”
“Well, as long as everything’s okay. Hand me the noodles, I’ll make them for you.”
“Thank you, Auntie.”
Sitting at the table waiting for the auntie to boil water, Lin Qi suddenly felt overwhelmingly drowsy and slumped onto the table, falling asleep instantly.
Deprived of control over her body, Lin Qi was like a hopeless soul imprisoned within, forced to passively witness the unfolding changes around her.
One thing was certain, though, she was still the Lin Qi from the book. Because the moment she saw Jiang Ming on the debut stage, she felt the corners of her lips curl up.
Smug and unrestrained, brimming with absolute confidence.
Next came the dorm assignments, and coincidentally, she was placed in the same room as Jiang Ming. Lin Qi could feel the triumphant smile spreading across her face.
Then, on the very first night, she took advantage of her strength and height to pin the timid kitten onto the bed, biting down on that smooth neck without letting go.
The person beneath her struggled incessantly. Lin Qi wanted to stop, but these events felt like predetermined facts, as if she were merely reliving them.
Neither of them had presented yet, so biting the back of the neck was meaningless. Helpless, Lin Qi watched as she released the softly sobbing figure beneath her, then leaned against the wall and uttered in fluent Japanese, “Haven’t presented yet? How boring.”
That night, the body Lin Qi inhabited slept soundly, but through the pitch-black darkness, she could sense Jiang Ming on the other bed, hugging her knees, trembling in the corner, quietly sobbing.
The sound made her heart ache in sympathy.
Finally, the next morning, her vision cleared. Lin Qi hurriedly looked toward Jiang Ming, but still had no control over her words. All she heard was her own voice, laced with malice, “I’m warning you don’t even think about telling anyone.”
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, Lin Qi added, “The theme song evaluations start in two days, followed by the first elimination round. If you want to survive the first cut, I suggest you start pleasing me.”
The rest of the day passed in training. Just as Lin Qi breathed a sigh of relief, thinking she wouldn’t have to hurt Jiang Ming anymore, she did something even worse upon returning to the dorm that night.
Her body pressed Jiang Ming down, and her disobedient hands wandered from the back to the thighs. The softness beneath her fingertips made Lin Qi instinctively want to close her eyes, but she could only watch helplessly as her hands gripped the hem of Jiang Ming’s skirt.
Then, with a sharp tug downward,
A familiar slap struck her face. It was clear Jiang Ming had held nothing back, this one was much harder than the slap in the dorm earlier.
Her vision shifted as she looked down at Jiang Ming. To her horror, Lin Qi realized she had raised her hand and struck Jiang Ming in return, then pinned the sobbing girl down and snarled, “You dare hit me?”
“Let me go… let me go”
Powerless, she watched as her body flipped Jiang Ming over, lifted the skirt, and delivered several sharp slaps to the exposed skin. The once fair flesh was soon covered in red, and the crying grew louder.
Lin Qi screamed internally, “Stop it!” But it was useless. All she could do was stare in anguish at the swelling marks on Jiang Ming’s skin.
The events of the following day were something Lin Qi had already read about in the book, Jiang Ming complained to the dorm supervisor, only to be dragged back by Lin Qi’s dismissive laughter. The moment she landed another slap, the supervisor arrived.
Then she quickly stood up, wanting to atone for her actions, only to be met with the female lead’s hateful command: “Get out.”
Lin Qi abruptly sat up, her breathing ragged and uneven, her entire being radiating a helpless pallor.
She wasn’t the one who had inflicted the violence.
The first-person perspective had been far too vivid. Even now, Lin Qi couldn’t shake the memory of Jiang Ming’s voice, hoarse from crying, or the trembling figure beneath her, the sheer terror and hatred that had made her very soul tremble.
“Hey, you’re awake? The noodles have gone cold. Let me make you a fresh bowl.”
Her throat bobbed as Lin Qi stared blankly at the kindly auntie, only then remembering that she’d had a fight with Jiang Ming and run off to the convenience store to eat instant noodles.
“Auntie, what time is it now?”
“Three in the morning. You’ve been asleep for nine hours. Training must be exhausting, huh? I was worried you’d catch a chill, so I covered you with a blanket.”
Surprised she’d slept so long, Lin Qi felt a pang of embarrassment. She folded the blanket draped over her and handed it back. “Thank you, Auntie. I’m sorry for troubling you.”
“It’s no trouble. You young folks have it rough these days, training all the time, barely even eating or sleeping properly.”
After accepting another bowl of noodles from the auntie, Lin Qi felt too guilty to impose any longer. “Auntie, I’ll head back to the dorm now,” she said, but instead found herself wandering aimlessly to a bench nearby.
The slap in her dream had hurt far more than the one she’d received that afternoon, it felt more like Jiang Ming’s instinctive reaction after enduring psychological trauma.
And the violence she’d experienced firsthand in the dream, Thinking about it, Lin Qi’s anger had already begun to fade. But her pride still wouldn’t let her back down.
Jiang Ming had slapped her. Wasn’t an apology the least she could offer?
And Lin Qi, the one who’d stormed out, how could she just go crawling back now?
Besides, it was already three in the morning. Jiang Ming was probably fast asleep. If Lin Qi went back now, she’d only make things worse.
Resigned, she headed to the academic building and found a clean spot in their team’s practice room. Lying down, she tried to sleep again. Even though she’d just slept for hours, the dream had left her mentally and physically drained.
It had felt so real that Lin Qi didn’t need to guess this was the darkness Jiang Ming had lived through.
Her soft heart nearly melted her anger away entirely.
Unwilling to seem so weak, Lin Qi turned onto her side, willing herself to fall asleep quickly. She needed to stand her ground, to stop thinking about Jiang Ming.
What she didn’t know was that, at three in the morning, the lights in their dorm were still on. Someone had been waiting for her return all along, huddled in the corner of the bed against the wall, knees drawn to her chest, helpless and uneasy.
