Transmigrated into the Early-Deceased Alpha Fiancée of the Female Lead - Chapter 19
Chapter 19 Foolish girl.
After finally processing what her eyes had just witnessed, Han Xuejin asked Zhu Changxuan what had happened.
Zhu Changxuan initially wanted to explain that she had been given this strange power by someone who had ascended long ago. But just as she opened her mouth, a mysterious voice echoed in her mind:
“The heavenly secrets must not be revealed!”
As a result, she couldn’t say it out loud. She ended up brushing it off, saying that during the thick fog, she had somehow been teleported to a hidden realm. There, she discovered the strange item. When she picked it up, the knowledge of how to use it suddenly appeared in her mind. Then she reappeared back here, saw the bandits, gave it a try—and, well, that happened.
Hua Yue’s eyes sparkled.
“Can I try it too? And then wear that outfit… Just kidding!”
She stopped herself when Han Xuejin gave her a frosty glare.
Zhu Changxuan said nothing.
Hua Yue quickly changed the subject.
“We should hurry and get to the Demon Realm!”
The three of them continued their sword flight toward their destination.
As Zhu Changxuan stepped onto Han Xuejin’s sword, Thousand Break, Han Xuejin carefully sensed her spiritual energy. It did seem denser, but also… oddly unchanged. Maybe it was just her imagination. Whatever had just happened, she decided to pretend it hadn’t. Better to hypnotize herself into forgetting it entirely.
Meanwhile, Lian Huazi’s group was using the Eight Meridian Compass to track them.
Lian Huazi grew increasingly irritated as the compass led them farther and farther from Tianman City. At this rate, they would be close to the Demon Realm. Yet there was still no sign of Zhu Changxuan or the others.
Suddenly, Mo Lingchuan spotted three figures flying through the sky. Two of them looked like Zhu Changxuan and Han Xuejin.
“Fairy! Look over there!” he shouted.
Lian Huazi’s face twisted into a crazed grin.
“Catch up to them! Kill them all on sight!”
“Yes, ma’am!” the others responded.
Sensing the pursuit behind them, Han Xuejin’s expression darkened.
Lian Huazi sped forward and shouted,
“Stop right there, demon witch! This is the day you die!”
Han Xuejin dodged swiftly and descended to the ground. She recalled Thousand Break into her hand.
Zhu Changxuan recognized her at once. Though her face remained calm, she was burning with anger inside.
Why won’t this woman ever leave us alone?
Hua Yue noticed her daughter’s reaction and chose not to interfere. She figured Zhu Changxuan wanted to settle this herself.
The other disciples quickly surrounded them and, without a word, launched their attack.
Mo Lingchuan, seeing Han Xuejin’s beautiful face now free of her birthmark, secretly felt it was a shame. If the Fairy weren’t here, he might have tried to enjoy her himself.
Faced with a coordinated assault, Han Xuejin had no intention of holding back.
With a single sword strike, a wave of powerful energy swept through the attackers. One after another, they were sent flying and slammed to the ground, unable to rise.
Mo Lingchuan coughed up blood, forced to his knees, shocked beyond words.
“How… is this possible?”
How had her strength increased so drastically?
Seeing Han Xuejin’s strength firsthand—and her now unblemished face that was no less stunning—Lian Huazi seethed with jealousy. Her teeth ground together in fury.
“You demon witch. I can’t believe your power grew this much in such a short time. You must have practiced some kind of dark Demon Realm sorcery!”
Han Xuejin answered coldly,
“And what if I did? What if I didn’t?”
“Die!” Lian Huazi screamed as she charged with everything she had.
Han Xuejin gathered icy energy into Thousand Break. With a single strike, she shattered Lian Huazi’s attack and sent her flying, landing a fatal blow. It ended instantly.
Lian Huazi didn’t even understand how she had died.
Seeing her fall, Mo Lingchuan trembled in fear, unable to speak.
When he finally came to his senses, he panicked and cried out,
“Sister! Please spare me! It was all Lian Huazi’s doing! I never meant to hurt you!”
Hua Yue clicked her tongue with disdain.
“Tsk tsk. Daughter, your fellow disciples are such hypocrites. You’ve really had a hard time.”
Mo Lingchuan tried to explain quickly.
“No, I’m telling the truth!”
Han Xuejin, of course, didn’t believe a word of it. Her heart had long hardened.
“You came to kill me. You should have been ready to die.”
She unleashed the Ice Soul technique. Before the others could escape, they were frozen into statues of ice.
Han Xuejin glanced at Zhu Changxuan’s expression. There wasn’t much change on her face.
“Changxuan… Do you think I’m…”
Cruel?
But the words didn’t make it out.
Zhu Changxuan knew exactly what Han Xuejin was thinking. She gently pulled her into an embrace.
“Let’s go.”
Han Xuejin smiled softly.
“Alright.”
Watching from a distance, Dao Zhiming was stunned. He hadn’t expected Han Xuejin to become so terrifyingly powerful. She had wiped out Lian Huazi’s group without even breaking a sweat. He didn’t dare confront her now.
Damn it. He would have to return to Xuantian Sect. Zhu Shijing was probably already back by now, and they were sure to demand answers. Worse, he was no match for either of them anymore.
Dao Zhiming clenched his fists, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
He waited until Han Xuejin’s group had flown far away before stepping out. Walking over to Lian Huazi’s body, he bent down to retrieve her storage pouch.
What kind of fairy was she? She might have something worth keeping.
Even Lian Li, who had escaped earlier, hadn’t gone far. He was still hiding nearby, since his zombie puppets were concealed in the same area.
When Lian Li returned, he immediately noticed a spot where several cultivators lay dead. Nearby, one person was still alive, rummaging through something.
A ghostly grin crept across Lian Li’s face.
“Ha… fresh corpses delivered for free. And that living one? He’ll make an excellent specimen too.”
Meanwhile, Zhu Changxuan and the others had finally reached the edge of the Demon Realm.
The area was barren, filled with dry grass and withered trees. In the distance, they saw the entrance to the Demon Realm. Suspended mid-air was a colossal fortress, so vast it stretched beyond the horizon. Floating above it was a powerful barrier set by the Demon Lord. The only way inside was through the massive gate.
Strangely enough, the entrance was guarded by only two demon soldiers.
With nothing to do, the two guards had started chatting out of boredom.
Guard A said,
“Didn’t you graduate top of your class? Shouldn’t you have been assigned to guard the main demon palace? Why are you stuck here in this third-tier zone guarding a gate?”
Guard B replied,
“Ah… I don’t really know either.”
…
Zhu Changxuan whispered,
“There are guards at the gate. What do we do?”
Han Xuejin answered calmly,
“We’ll have to force our way in if we must.”
Before they could move, Hua Yue stepped forward confidently and stopped them.
“No need for violence. I am the Demon Lord’s wife, after all. My face is highly recognizable in the Demon Realm. As soon as they see me, they’ll respectfully welcome us in.”
When she married the Demon Lord, her very first request had been for a thousand portraits of her to be painted and distributed throughout the realm for public admiration of her unmatched beauty.
Zhu Changxuan raised an eyebrow.
“Really?”
You’re the least reliable person I know.
Hua Yue placed a hand on her hip.
“Of course it’s true. Come on, just follow my lead!”
As the three of them approached, Guard B stood up straight and called out nervously,
“Who goes there? I don’t recognize you! Do you have a pass?”
Both Zhu Changxuan and Han Xuejin turned to look at Hua Yue.
Hua Yue’s confident smile almost faltered. She quickly approached Guard B and spoke in a friendly, familiar tone.
“Oh my, isn’t this little Hei? You’ve gone all pale. It’s been years since I last saw you. How long have you been guarding this gate?”
Guard B blinked and answered honestly,
“Three days.”
Hua Yue paused.
“Ah… right! You don’t remember me? Never mind, let’s catch up later. Be a dear and let us in, will you?”
Guard B nodded hurriedly.
“Ah, yes, of course. Please, go right in.”
Hua Yue laughed brightly.
“Thanks a bunch!”
And just like that, the three of them entered without resistance.
Zhu Changxuan glanced at Hua Yue with new respect.
“I can’t believe it… She actually knew someone. For once, she was reliable.”
Han Xuejin, however, frowned slightly.
“Was that really legit…?”
As the trio walked away, Guard A turned to his companion and asked in rapid succession,
“Wait, your nickname is ‘Little Hei’? Were you darker before? How’d you get so pale? Can you teach me?”
Guard B looked confused.
“I don’t have a nickname like that. I’ve always been this pale.”
Guard A froze.
“Wait… do you even know those people?”
Guard B shook his head.
“Nope. Never seen them before in my life.”
Guard A shouted in frustration.
“Then why did you let them in?!”
Guard B scratched the back of his head, finally realizing the issue.
“Oh! Right! My bad, I messed up. Heh.”
Guard A exploded.
“Heh your head! Now I understand why you were assigned to this backwater third-tier zone!”
Guard B tilted his head, confused.
“Huh? Why?”
Guard A stared at him for a few silent seconds before bellowing,
“Go after them, you idiot!”
Guard B flinched.
“Oh… okay…”
