Transmigrated into a Trashy A and Ended Up with My Grudge-filled Best Friend and My Own CP - Chapter 65.2
Ying Shu listened quietly, then cast a cold glance at the woman on the sofa and suggested, “Call the police. Follow procedure.”
As she turned to leave, panic flashed across the woman’s face. She reached out to stop her. “No, Ah-Shu! If we involve the police, word might get out, and then our Ying family’s.”
“Auntie, do you really think the Ying family still has any dignity left?” Ying Shu crossed her arms, her eyes filled with disdain as she cut her off with a scoff.
“Two options. Either don’t call the police and give him a rope to hang himself in the main residence.” Ying Shu’s dark pupils held no emotion, the slight curve of her usually charming peach-blossom eyes sweeping over them. Suddenly, the boy kneeling on the ground felt a chill run down his spine.
Ying Shu’s cold gaze swept down, carrying an air of superiority. “Of course, if you’re too soft-hearted, arranging a marriage with the Ding family for him is also an option.”
“I refuse! How could someone from the Ding family ever be worthy of Ah-Chen?” The woman’s thoughts were tangled her concerns lay elsewhere.
Ying Shu said, “You look down on the Ding family’s status, but have you considered whether they would even spare a glance at the Ying family now?”
“Ah Shu, I heard you know the heir of the Zong family’s main branch. Could you do me a favor? I noticed that young master Zong Mu seemed quite taken with my Ah Chen last time.”
Ying Shu raised a hand to stop the woman from continuing. Rubbing her forehead with one hand, her shoulders shaking slightly, she let out a mirthless laugh: “So all this time, auntie, you’ve been eyeing the Zong family.”
The woman choked on her words. Ying Shu wasn’t wrong her intention was indeed to forge connections between her child and the Zong family. Even if the main lineage’s heir was an Omega and thus unavailable, the Zong family had plenty of high-ranking Alpha branch members who might match her child.
Softening her tone, the woman said, “Ah Shu, auntie is just thinking of our future. Imagine if Ah Chen married an Alpha from the Zong family. That would greatly elevate your military career prospects.”
“You’re an Omega. Just getting into the military and becoming a captain in the Second Corps has already raised eyebrows among those Alphas and Betas. If the Ying family became relatives with the Zong family, then.” The woman trailed off, shooting a meaningful glance at her child.
The boy immediately caught on. His eyes darting beneath lowered lids, he reached out to grab the hem of Ying Shu’s pants as she turned to leave. “That’s right, cousin! I can help you too. Just introduce me to them.”
A shadow crossed Ying Shu’s face as she glared disdainfully at the hand clutching her pants. “Get lost,” she spat.
The icy tone sent a chill down the boy’s spine, making him instinctively release his grip. But remembering this concerned his future, he mustered his courage again. Tilting his slender, fragile neck, his pale lips parted to speak.
Ying Shu’s cold stare silenced him before he could utter a word.
“Ah Shu, Ah Chen didn’t mean it. Don’t be angry.”
They never knew their place, truly believing they could manipulate a family like the Zong clan.
Forget about whether such a marriage alliance could succeedwith trash like Ying Chen, who in their right mind would even look his way?
Ying Shu bit the soft flesh inside her cheeks, shoved her hands into her pockets, and let out a derisive snort. “I call you auntie out of courtesy, to spare you embarrassment.”
“Auntie, some things, once done, leave permanent marks. You can’t keep regressing, filling your head with these delusions. Why not live in the present? Must you keep chasing past glories?”
“You won’t succeed, and neither will I.” Having said her piece, Ying Shu kicked away the boy still clinging to her leg with undisguised irritation.
Then she turned and ascended the stairs, ignoring the pair below.
Only when her bedroom door closed did she find a moment’s peace. Defeated, Ying Shu collapsed onto the bed and closed her eyes.
She wanted to push these troubles from her mind.
This room had been her mother’s chamber before marriage. Whenever she visited, she would stay here for days.
When everything happened years ago her uncle dying soon after being imprisoned, her mother’s life cut short by the shock, passing in what should have been her prime.
A wave of sorrow suddenly overwhelmed Ying Shu. For some reason, her nose stung and clogged with unshed tears.
She grabbed a tissue, blew her nose, and tossed it into the trash.
How tedious. Sometimes living truly felt exhausting.
Ying Shu buried her face in the pillow, dark hair spilling across half her cheeks. Her mind emptied, yet inexplicably, someone’s face gradually surfaced in her thoughts.
What is she doing now? Copying test papers? Copying questions? A faint smile curved at the corners of Ying Shu’s lips as she chuckled softly.
She rolled over, crossing her legs lazily while resting her head on her arm, her eyes staring blankly at the snow-white ceiling.
Her mind drifted back to the first time she had seen her in the President’s office.
Ding Moyan stood before the president, her slender frame appearing meek and submissive with her lowered head. Yet inwardly, she was utterly composed, her calm demeanor making Ying Shu feel as though this woman knew nothing would happen to her.
She subtly bared her claws at others, yet displayed a faint timidity only when interacting with Zong Jia. It wasn’t that Ding Moyan liked Zong Jia, Ying Shu saw no genuine affection in her eyes for anyone.
If one word could describe her, it would be ‘contradiction.’ Ding Moyan was a walking paradox.
As for why Ying Shu had transferred her to the A+ class, it wasn’t out of any intention to tease a beauty. She was simply curious about the contradictions within this woman and wanted to keep her under close watch to see what waves she could stir. If satisfied, Ying Shu might even provide her with the necessary tools and conditions.
Of course, her actions were dancing on the edge of Zong Jia’s patience, testing his limits.
But it was fun, so why bother with the rest?
Though the Second Legion she belonged to served as backup for the First Legion, with little chance of deployment, it wasn’t impossible. Once on the battlefield, who knew how long she’d live?
Ying Shu closed her eyes again, the gland at the back of her neck throbbing faintly. The pheromones within were forcibly suppressed. Pressing a hand to her nape, she let out a muffled hum through her nose her heat was approaching.
She ought to find an Alpha to accompany her through it.
In the Ying family’s main hall, the young man kneeling earlier had been helped up by his mother and taken back to his room for treatment after Ying Shu left.
Ying Chen cried out, “Mom, she wouldn’t help me!”
The woman applied ointment to his wounds and sighed. “Behave. Those photos are still in the hands of that Ding family brat.”
“I don’t want to marry that green-haired freak!”
