Transmigrated into a Trashy A and Ended Up with My Grudge-filled Best Friend and My Own CP - Chapter 56
I need to eavesdrop on the President’s little heart.
Yu Mu’s words were shocking enough to leave Ding Moyan speechless, her mouth hanging open in disbelief.
Meanwhile, Ye Ye, who was savoring a stir-fried dish, widened her eyes and nearly bit her tongue. What the hell was this? Had things progressed so quickly?
Her gaze wandered dazedly between Ding Moyan and the President.
Compared to the two of them, Zong Jia’s expression was remarkably calm, as if she had no intention of opposing her father’s startling statement.
Ding Moyan’s eyes flickered, her face twisting in discomfort. “Uncle, isn’t this a bit too fast?”
“Not at all, not at all,” Yu Mu replied with a smile, picking up a piece of cabbage and placing it in Ding Moyan’s bowl.
This wasn’t part of the original agreement with the President. Wasn’t she just supposed to play the role of a partner for the President, who was lacking one? How had it escalated to marriage?
Under the table, Ding Moyan desperately tugged at Zong Jia’s pants, her eyes pleading for help.
Zong Jia’s hand covered Ding Moyan’s, the icy touch making her instinctively pull back. But Zong Jia didn’t give her the chance, gripping her hand tightly instead.
Ding Moyan swallowed hard, unsure how to steer the President’s father away from this topic. She could only hope the President would understand.
Zong Jia pinched the back of Ding Moyan’s hand, a hint of amusement flashing in her eyes as she savored Ding Moyan’s silent plea.
Ding Moyan’s lips trembled. “President, please!”
Yu Mu shifted his gaze from Ding Moyan to Zong Jia. “A-Jia, what do you think about this matter?”
Zong Jia used her injured right hand to pick up a piece of cabbage and ate it slowly before replying, “Moyan is still young. Let’s wait a little longer for this.”
Ye Ye’s ears perked up. She distinctly noticed the two words Zong Jia had used gentle and deliberate.
Disappointed, Yu Mu frowned at Zong Jia’s response but refrained from saying anything in front of everyone.
With a sigh, Yu Mu lamented inwardly when his child would finally win the beauty’s heart.
The Zōng Jiāzhǔ, sensing the tension, comforted his wife by serving her favorite vegetables and deftly changed the subject. “The Interstellar Mech Competition is about to begin. Each grade in the Engineering Institute will allocate two spots. Xiao Ding, has your grade’s selection been finalized?”
The Zōng Jiāzhǔ had considered many things. Although Zong Jia could act freely with the backing of the Zong family, he still hoped to find a responsible Alpha to take care of his child.
“Ding Moyan doesn’t know,” Ye Ye answered for her. “But from what I’ve heard from my friends, it’s already been decided.”
“In our grade, the initial selections were Zou Ye and Ding Bai. However, due to some recent incidents, the spots might change.”
As for what those incidents were, everyone present understood without needing it spelled out.
The Zōng Jiāzhǔ sighed inwardly over the downfall of the Zou family’s long-groomed heir. Rumor had it that their talented Beta daughter, who excelled in mecha, was now confined to a capsule. The Zou family’s current generation was practically finished.
Aside from the initial marriage discussion, the dinner proceeded pleasantly.
Back in the bedroom, Ding Moyan finally relaxed, slumping onto the sofa and massaging her temples.
She pondered Zong Jia’s attitude. Did she really want to marry her? If it was about liking her, Zong Jia seemed miles away from that.
What was it about her that made Zong Jia go to such lengths? In the original story, Zong Jia’s feelings for Ding Moyan weren’t even as strong as those for Ye Ye, Ding Bai, or Yu Sisi.
Zong Jia had already suspected her identity earlier. But then again, her acting was poor, and her character portrayal was OOC, so it was only natural for Zong Jia to be suspicious. After all, transmigration system novels were still popular these days, and as the President, she ought to know a thing or two about them.
So, she hadn’t given up and was determined to test the waters, wanting to see what tricks I could pull. On my end, the system permissions had been transferred. I skimmed through the items in the shop, most of them were pretty useless in the interstellar era, though some were suitable for this time period. It was possible that the system previously bound to me was just too trashy.
Ding Moyan scrolled through the shop’s items, still unable to find one that could resolve the marriage issue. She kept thinking about it, mainly because she had a feeling the President’s father would bring it up again later.
As she browsed, Ding Moyan’s gaze lingered on three particularly interesting items, especially the last one, which had an incredibly affordable price.

Reading the descriptions, Ding Moyan couldn’t help but chuckle, they were kind of hilarious.
The Soft Currency used for purchases came from the real world, and the spent money would be deducted from Ding Moyan’s personal account there. In reality, she lived comfortably, earning substantial dividends from her company every year.
Aside from the third item, the time-limited flying card which she didn’t top up for now, Ding Moyan waved her hand and directly purchased the first two items. For the second one, she added over a dozen to her cart.
The items were delivered in card form, storable in the system’s tool panel. To use them, she just had to take them out and call their names.
Ding Moyan fiddled with the “Listen to Others’ Hearts” card, a sly glint in her eyes. She planned to use it tonight to uncover the President’s little secrets. The thought excited her, though she couldn’t help feeling a bit mischievous and morally questionable.
Not far from the Zōng family’s Main residence garden was a lake. Embracing the belief that a post-meal stroll could lead to a long life, Ye Ye, after finishing dinner, wandered leisurely toward the artificial lake by the Main residence.
By the lakeside at night, over a dozen standing lamps were lit, their bright light illuminating the area. Despite the darkness, the emerald green of the artificial lake could still be clearly admired. Several stone benches were installed along the shore. Ye Ye bent down and wiped one with her finger, it was quite clean, with little dust, indicating regular maintenance.
Tonight’s dinner was the most unpleasant Ye Ye had ever experienced, especially when the topic of marriage came up, which only heightened her irritation. She lit a cigarette, hoping the nicotine would ease her anxiety.
“Miss Ye Ye.”
The voice came from behind her to the right.
“Who are you?” She turned her head slightly, raising an eyebrow.
A little girl dressed in a classical doll-like dress stepped out from behind the wall. She blinked playfully at Ye Ye and introduced herself, “I’m Zong Ci, Zong Jia’s younger sister.”
“Not by blood, I assume.”
Zong Ci’s expression froze, her pupils contracting. She forced a smile, maintaining the poise expected of an upper-class young lady.
Zong Ci: “Though not by blood, I was personally named by the former family head to reside in the main residence.”
Ye Ye narrowed her eyes slightly, took a drag from her cigarette, and drawled, “Sorry, but I’ve never heard that before.”
“You!” Zong Ci choked back her words, grinding her teeth subtly before smiling again. “Miss Ye Ye, you’re quite the joker.”
Before Zong Ci could finish, Ye Ye impatiently cut in, “No, no, no. Do I look like I’m joking with you? Miss Zong Ci, is there something you wanted to say to me? If so, get to the point!”
“I hardly think you just happened to pass by the artificial lake for fun and coincidentally ran into me.” Ye Ye turned her gaze back to the lake.
“I’m here to propose a collaboration,” Zong Ci said. “I can tell you’re quite fond of Ding Moyan, aren’t you?”
“Pfft.” Ye Ye rubbed the tip of her nose and chuckled. “Little girl, what gave you the idea that I like Ding Moyan?”
Zong Ci countered, “Isn’t it obvious?”
“Ha, alright, fine. Maybe I do. What’s your proposal?”
“I want to become the next head of the Zong family,” Zong Ci declared shamelessly. “Help me eliminate Zong Jia, and I’ll ensure you get Ding Moyan.”
“You really overestimate me.” Ye Ye couldn’t help but laugh, though it was unclear whether she was mocking the girl or herself.
Ye Ye was blunt: “I can’t beat her.”
“I know Zong Jia’s pheromone level is high, but that’s all it is just high. Soon, the Interstellar Mecha Competition will take place, and casualties aren’t punishable under interstellar law. There have been plenty of deaths caused by mechas in the past.” Zong Ci’s venomous words contrasted sharply with her pretty face, as if such malice didn’t belong to someone her age. “Your family has some expertise in this area. You should know how to make her disappear without a trace.”
Ye Ye: “…”
“That’s quite the plan.” Ye Ye praised sincerely.
Zong Ci: “Once it’s done, I’ll help you fulfill your wish.”
“Hold on. How are you so sure I’ll agree? To me, your plan is far too risky. One misstep, and I’m done for.”
“Do you want to be suppressed by Zong Jia forever? Or are you too cowardly to remember how she humiliated you back then?” Having pushed the conversation this far, Zong Ci wasn’t the least bit afraid Ye Ye would refuse. The rumors about Ye Ye from those days were still circulating in their circles, and she didn’t believe Ye Ye could be so magnanimous as to let it go.
Ye Ye stubbed out her cigarette, her eyes unnaturally dark with simmering malice.
She lit a new one, pausing for a moment before murmuring, “Hmm, I am a little tempted.”
Zong Ci’s long lashes fluttered like butterfly wings, her eyes shifting beneath them. Offering a slap and then a sweet date was her usual tactic.
With a smile, Zong Ci said, “Miss Ye Ye, once she’s gone, I can even provide the video from back then.”
“Mmm…” Ye Ye exhaled a ring of smoke into the air, her expression half-amused, half-mocking through the haze, making her appear even more bewitching. “Your offer is quite reasonable. You even remembered to hand over the video.”
Holding something Ye Ye wanted gave Zong Ci confidence. “Does Miss Ye Ye think our collaboration can proceed?”
Unexpectedly, Ye Ye’s smile vanished, her gaze icy as she stared at her. “Jiang Pei is quite close to you, isn’t she?”
A flicker of surprise flashed in Zong Ci’s eyes, but she recovered in seconds.
She forced a stiff smile. “What? Who’s Jiang Pei? Another pretty girl?”
Meanwhile, her mind raced to rearrange her words, making sure she hadn’t given anything away before speaking again.
Ye Ye fell silent for a long moment before her tone turned oddly whimsical. “Pretty girl? That’s one way to put it. Right, right, right.”
She nodded without denying it, the abrupt shift making Zong Ci suspicious.
Beneath her lashes, Ye Ye’s eyes gazed eerily at the lake, where several koi fish leaped to the surface. The sky was overcast, a cold wind rising hinting at rain.
“Miss Ye Ye, have you made up your mind?” Zong Ci grew impatient, her mood far from as relaxed as Ye Ye’s, especially after the unexpected mention of Jiang Pei had startled her.
Though there were no cameras here, the Zong family’s patrol could pass by at any moment.
Ye Ye muttered under her breath, “Noisy.”
Her voice was too low for Zong Ci to catch clearly. “What?”
Ye Ye’s lips curled into a smile. “I said, your terms are too good. Of course I’ll agree.”
Zong Ci beamed and extended her hand. “Then, happy cooperation.”
“Sorry, I’m a germaphobe.” Ye Ye held her cigarette, brushing off Zong Ci’s gesture.
Zong Ci seethed inside but kept her composure. With a polite curtsy, she said gently, “Very well, I’ll take my leave then.”
Once Zong Ci was gone, Ye Ye crushed the cigarette underfoot and walked to a nearby tree, her eyes narrowing at an inconspicuous red dot on the trunk.
“Hmm, is the President there? Did you hear all that?”
After a light chuckle, she stretched lazily, no longer in the mood to admire the lake, and turned toward the bathhouse in the main residence.
After spending the afternoon in the kitchen, a bath and sleep sounded perfect.
Knock, knock, knock!
Ye Ye, in her nightgown and clutching a small pillow, stopped at the President’s door and knocked.
Ding Moyan opened the door, her hair still damps clearly fresh from the bathhouse, a mix of innocence and allure.
Ding Moyan frowned. “What are you doing here so late at night?”
Ye Ye clutched her small pillow tightly, leaning against the doorframe as she coughed weakly a few times. Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke, “Sister Mo Yan, I’m afraid of the dark, afraid of being alone in unfamiliar places.”
The repeated calls of “sister” made Ding Moyan’s scalp tingle and her lips twitch.
“You got issues?”
