Transmigrated into a Trashy A and Ended Up with My Grudge-filled Best Friend and My Own CP - Chapter 43.2
Leaning in, Ye Ye whispered into her ear, “Wang Ye, if you don’t want Ding Moyan distracted during this match, you’d better come with me.”
From the front rows, Ye Ye dragged Wang Ye away from the spectator stands Wang Ye’s expression far from willing, more like she was being forced.
Yu Sisi watched their retreating figures uneasily. “Where is Ye Ye taking Wang Ye?”
“Probably the back mountain,” Ding Bai answered offhandedly.
“Why?”
Ding Bai smirked. “Ye Ye has her own ideas.”
Screech!
Zou Ye’s mecha suddenly ground to a halt.
Ding Bai leaned forward, interlacing her fingers and resting her chin on them, her crimson lips curling. “The drug’s kicking in.”
Over ten minutes earlier.
Following Ding Bai’s instructions, Yu Sisi had stealthily swiped her way inside. The universal card, gifted by her aunt, granted access to any room.
This one happened to be rented exclusively by the Zou family.
Before swiping, she had checked the surveillance Zou Ye and Jiang Pei were currently wrapped up in each other, buying drinks from the vending machine downstairs. That was the only reason she dared to sneak in.
She was just about to sprinkle the powder from her pocket into Zou Ye’s mineral water when the earpiece in her ear suddenly lit up red they were coming back.
Yu Sisi reacted swiftly, scrambling under the bed in an instant. She believed there was no safer place than this.
The door creaked open, and the two walked in.
“Zou Ye, are you really going to do this?” Jiang Pei’s small hands trembled nervously, her expression uneasy as she held the bottle of water.
Do what? Yu Sisi, lying under the bed, pricked up her ears quietly.
“Just do as I say.” Zou Ye lifted her eyelids calmly, her pupils shifting slowly. She reached out and tossed the opened bottle of water on the table into the trash.
“Zou Ye, you just opened that one.”
Zou Ye couldn’t help but smirk at the foolish remark. “Never drink something that’s left your sight.”
“Just like what you’re about to do.”
Jiang Pei paled, her lashes fluttering downward. Her frail frame stood in the air-conditioned room, vulnerable and sensitive. Zou Ye softened at the sight, her expression gentling.
“Relax, what’s in this bottle won’t cause Ding Moyan any real harm. The effect is similar to a laxative just some stomach pain and pheromone disruption, rendering her unable to use them for a short time.” Zou Ye patted Jiang Pei’s shoulder reassuringly.
Seeing Jiang Pei lower her head in silence, Zou Ye pressed, “Don’t you want me in the A+ class? Would you really let your Alpha waste away in a regular class?”
“N-no, of course not.” Jiang Pei shook her head and agreed. “I’ll help you.”
“Wang Ye is downstairs right now. Take this bottle to her and have her give it to Ding Moyan.” Zou Ye tilted her chin toward Jiang Pei.
Wang Ye clutched her nervously pounding chest and murmured, “Okay.”
The door creaked shut.
Yu Sisi silently cursed Zou Ye for being despicable and shameless playing dirty even in a practical exam.
After Wang Ye left, Zou Ye headed to the bathroom for a relaxing soak to ease her muscles.
The bathtub filled with water, and she stripped off her clothes, stepping in while humming a tune.
Seizing the moment, Yu Sisi slipped out and dashed downstairs.
Her gaze landed on the two sitting with their backs to her on a bench. Yu Sisi crouched low, noting the hollow space beneath the wooden chairs. While the two were engrossed in conversation, she mischievously swapped the positions of the two water bottles.
If her guess was right, Jiang Pei would secretly switch them back later. Given Jiang Pei’s timid nature, she’d definitely give the swapped bottle to Zou Ye to drink.
Two minutes later, just as predicted, Jiang Pei switched the bottles.
Now, the water in Jiang Pei’s hand was the one Zou Ye had tampered with.
Ding Bai, seated in the audience, glanced up at the approaching figure.
Yu Sisi flashed an “OK” sign.
Ding Bai trusted Yu Sisi’s work and responded with a quiet “Mm.”
“Boss, didn’t you always hate Ding Moyan?” Yu Sisi sat beside her, grinning as she voiced her confusion. “So why this time?”
“I also despise the Zou family.” Ding Bai’s expression was indifferent, her eyes dull. Helping Ding Moyan wasn’t something she wanted to do, but there was another reason this person had offended the President. And those who offended the President had to be removed sooner or later.
Zou Ye’s stomach twisted in sharp, tearing pain, making her grip on the control stick tremble weakly. Strands of hair clung to her temples, damp with cold sweat.
Her eyes were dry and her head was spinning, dark spots dancing in her vision, obscuring her sight.
Zou Ye’s expression was dazed, her weakened gaze barely making it past the console to the opponent who was growing fiercer with each strike. A bone-chilling cold surged from her feet straight to her skull.
Every discomfort in her body was the effect of that vial of reagent. If Zou Ye still didn’t realize she had been drugged, she’d be a fool.
The tainted mineral water had been handed to Jiang Pei by her, with instructions to give it to Ding Moyan.
So why was the substance in the water now taking effect on her?
Unless, Jiang Pei had betrayed her?
Betrayed her, betrayed her was it because of Ding Moyan?
At this thought, Zou Ye’s face paled, her hatred for Ding Moyan deepening. The gland at the back of her neck was overactive, searing with pain from the excessive release of pheromones.
BANG!
This moment of distraction gave Ding Moyan the perfect opening. She struck hard, venting all the frustration from being cornered in the restroom last time.
The mecha crashed into the spectator stands, only to be bounced back by the thick protective barrier, slamming into the ground and leaving a deep crater. The nearby spectators instinctively recoiled, gasping in fear.
Inside the cockpit, Zou Ye couldn’t withstand the sudden assault. She coughed up a mouthful of blood, staining the front of her uniform, some droplets even splattering onto the control screen.
“President, it looks like Ding Moyan has won this match,” Kailina said softly, standing beside Zong Jia as she observed the battle unfolding in the arena.
“Those who dig pits for others will fall into them themselves.”
Zong Jia, resting her chin on one hand, remained expressionless, as if she were just an ordinary spectator, unmoved by who won or lost.
Ding Moyan’s gaze was icy as she stared ahead, murmuring under her breath, her words coinciding with Zong Jia’s: “It’s time to end this.”
She had no intention of toying with Zou Ye any longer. Gripping the control stick, she switched to attack mode in seconds and charged forward.
The heavy, spear-like protrusion at the front extended mid-charge. Ding Moyan unleashed the same strike again.
BOOM!
The spear pierced through the lower half of the mecha and flung it dozens of meters back, where it crashed into the ground, metal plates clattering as it collapsed into a heap of scrap.
The students in the stands held their breaths, staring at the wreckage in shock.
After a long moment, Zou Ye mustered all her strength to push aside the heavy debris.
Her chest ached dully. Staggering, she couldn’t steady herself, swaying unsteadily. Students from the Zou family rushed onto the field in panic, helping her up.
Zou Ye’s hollow gaze swept over them Jiang Pei wasn’t among them.
So, Jiang Pei really had betrayed her.
A bitter frustration welled up in her chest, and she coughed violently. She had always treated Jiang Pei well or so she thought.
Clenching her fists, veins bulging on her forehead, a ruthless glint flashed in her eyes. Swallowing her bitterness, she gritted out two names through clenched teeth: “Jiang Pei, Ding Moyan!”
“The final match was absolutely thrilling!” The host clapped enthusiastically. “Let’s give a round of applause for Ding Moyan, congratulating her on advancing to the second round of the practical exam!”
“The first round is now officially concluded.”
“Now, announcing the second round this will be a duo battle. Participants must form teams of two and register a team name. The competition will begin at 7 a.m. the day after tomorrow. The names of successful qualifiers will appear on the main screen, so everyone can start looking for suitable partners now.”
“Note: Registration closes at 6 p.m. tomorrow. Be sure not to miss the deadline!”
“Perfect, I’ll team up with Wang Ye.” Ding Moyan, having heard the details of the next round, left the arena and headed backstage.
She could have left directly, but she had arranged to meet Wang Ye backstage.
Ding Moyan arrived backstage, pressing a warm towel against her overused gland as she glanced around the empty space. Not a soul in sight.
She let out a soft “Huh?” and murmured, “Where’s Wang Ye?”
Behind the Engineering Institute stood an abandoned gymnasium, the air thick with dampness and a foul stench.
The equipment inside had rusted over, and since it was located in the back hills infested with venomous mosquitoes and snakes’ students and instructors rarely ventured there.
“Oh, how interesting.”
Ye Ye’s boots crunched over fallen leaves as she listened to the news from the person on the other end of the call. Her eyebrows arched in surprise, and the corner of her lips curled up. “Don’t worry, Yu Sisi. She’s still at the Rose Workshop. I won’t go too far.”
“Tch, it’s fine. She’s not worth me risking a disciplinary record.”
With that, Ye Ye disdainfully nudged the person at her feet with her boot.
Wang Ye’s hands and feet were tightly bound with a leather whip, coiled up like a maggot, her mouth stuffed with a rag. Her hair was matted with filthy, foul-smelling mud, making her look utterly disheveled.
Ye Ye kicked the struggling Beta at her feet before dragging over a chair and sitting down with ease.
Crossing her legs, she toyed with a wooden bead between her fingers, her long lashes lowering as she spoke, her tone dripping with schadenfreude: “Wang Ye, the nominal second daughter of the Zou family, Zou Ye’s own little sister.”
“Tell me, what exactly was your goal in getting close to Ding Moyan?”
