Transmigrated into a Scummy Alpha Playboy in Ancient Times - Chapter 119
“Feel free to look around. These sheep are very gentle—they won’t hurt anyone,” the farmer quickly reassured them.
Shen Xingyue held Zhizhi in her arms and guided her little hand to pet the sheep. Zhizhi stretched out her fingers and touched the soft, fluffy wool, then giggled at the sheep.
The lamb happily rubbed its head against her tiny hand, and Zhizhi’s little legs kicked with joy. “Sister, she’s rubbing on me~!”
“Yes, looks like the little sheep likes you too,” Shen Xingyue said gently as she held Zhizhi close, smiling at her affectionately.
Liu Xiang smiled as she watched Shen Xingyue cuddle her youngest daughter. She leaned toward Su Muyu and asked in a low voice, “How have things been with you two lately? When are you going to give Zhizhi a little niece to play with?”
“Oh, Mother, stop it,” Su Muyu whispered, blushing. “Yu’er said there’s no rush.”
Ever since their marriage, Su Muyu had never imagined life could be so peaceful and happy. Shen Xingyue treated her so well—she even saved her mother and little sister from the misery of the Su family. Of course, Su Muyu had thought about having a child with Shen Xingyue, but Yu’er always said there was no hurry. So she decided to just let it happen naturally.
“Alright, alright. If you’re not in a hurry, I won’t be either,” Liu Xiang teased with a smile.
After playing with the sheep for a while, Shen Xingyue carried Zhizhi back to wash her hands.
It was Zhizhi’s first time at the estate, and everything felt new and exciting. She skipped and bounced around, thrilled by every little thing she saw.
For lunch, Shen Xingyue had the estate’s servants prepare everything in advance. They even butchered a lamb on the spot to make fresh lamb soup and roasted lamb, along with several other dishes. Zhizhi was so happy she could barely sit still as she ate.
Shen Xingyue smiled and said, “Mother, from now on, if you or Zhizhi want to eat something or need anything, just ask Steward Sun to take care of it. Don’t hold back or feel shy.”
“Alright, I’ll remember that,” Liu Xiang said with a grateful smile.
That night, they all decided to stay at the estate. There were plenty of rooms, and the accommodations were far better than those at the Su residence. Su Muzhi, now in a new place, couldn’t have been more delighted.
After dinner, Shen Xingyue and Su Muyu returned to their room early. The spring night was still a little chilly, so the fireplace was lit with a brazier for warmth. Su Muyu relaxed in Shen Xingyue’s arms, flipping through a book about geography and local landscapes.
Shen Xingyue quietly acted as her soft pillow, occasionally toying with Su Muyu’s fingers.
After reading for a while, Su Muyu began to feel sleepy. She nuzzled into Shen Xingyue’s arms and mumbled, “I’m tired.”
“Then rest now. You can read more tomorrow if you’d like,” Shen Xingyue said softly, gently taking the book from her hands.
They had already washed up, now resting in their underclothes, lying side by side under a warm quilt.
Shen Xingyue pulled the blanket up and wrapped her arms around Su Muyu, gently settling down to sleep. She closed her eyes and let herself drift off.
Su Muyu, however, was a little surprised. Yu’er was being unusually quiet tonight. She hadn’t even tried anything. In fact, for the past few nights, Shen Xingyue had gone to sleep quickly and hadn’t tried to get close to her at all.
Feeling a little suspicious, Su Muyu let out a soft hum. She began to wonder if Yu’er was… not quite as energetic as before.
She leaned over and gently kissed Shen Xingyue’s lips, then snuggled into her arms and started squirming, rubbing against her like a spoiled little kitten.
Shen Xingyue opened her eyes to find her little kitten sulking beside her. She spoke gently, trying to soothe her, “What’s wrong? Didn’t you say you were tired? Why not rest a bit longer?”
Su Muyu looked at her with a wronged expression. “You just went to sleep without even looking at me?”
Shen Xingyue gently brushed the loose strands from her forehead, still patient. “Alright, I’ll stay awake and watch you fall asleep. I won’t close my eyes until you do. Okay?”
Su Muyu pouted and kicked her a few times in frustration. Shen Xingyue couldn’t help but smile and pulled the sulking little kitten into her arms, rubbing her lower back to calm her down.
“What’s wrong, my dear wife? Why are you upset again? Just tell me, and I’ll fix it. Alright?”
Su Muyu buried her face in Shen Xingyue’s chest. After a while, she leaned in close and gave her a kiss on the ear, then whispered, face flushed, “You’ve been going to bed so early these days… I missed you.”
Right after she said it, she felt a little embarrassed. Was she being too clingy? Did other omegas feel the same way—wanting to be with their alphas all the time?
Seeing how sweet and honest her kitten was, Shen Xingyue’s heart melted. The truth was, she had been falling asleep early lately because of how busy things had been. It wasn’t because she didn’t want to be close. Seeing Su Muyu so disappointed, she immediately held her tighter and leaned in for a kiss.
She rubbed her waist gently, holding her close, kissing her until Su Muyu’s breathing turned shallow. Only then did she finally pull back and whisper, “It’s my fault these past few days. I shouldn’t have fallen asleep so early while you were still awake. I won’t do that again, alright?”
“Mhm,” Su Muyu replied softly, just about to snuggle closer when Shen Xingyue lifted her slightly and kissed her again.
By the time they both woke up the next morning, the sun was already high in the sky. Zhizhi had wanted to eat breakfast with her two sisters but hadn’t seen either of them all morning.
Shen Xingyue looked down at the peacefully sleeping kitten in her arms. Her heart softened at the sight. She reached out and gently touched Su Muyu’s soft pink ear.
Su Muyu let out a soft hum and burrowed even deeper into her embrace.
With a smile tugging at her lips, Shen Xingyue watched her quietly. She didn’t want to disturb her, so she began counting her eyelashes—long, thick, and curled just right. She couldn’t help but reach out and lightly stroke them.
To her, everything about her kitten was perfect.
She let her rest a little longer, holding her like a warm pillow. It wasn’t until almost noon that Su Muyu finally stirred awake.
When she saw how bright it was outside, her face turned bright red. Sleeping in like this back at Feixue Courtyard was one thing, but now they were at the estate—with her mother nearby too.
Embarrassed, she hid her face in Shen Xingyue’s arms and whispered softly, “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier? My mother’s still here…”
“I only woke up a little before you,” Shen Xingyue replied, kissing the tip of her ear to comfort her. “Besides, how could I resist you when you were so clingy last night? It’s okay. Mother will understand.”
And with that, she was met with a soft flurry of light punches.
Shen Xingyue laughed as Su Muyu pouted in her arms. “If you don’t get up now, we’re going to miss lunch too.”
Su Muyu leaned over, gave her a quick bite on the lip, then nudged her with her knee before finally sitting up to get washed.
When the two finally stepped out, the sun was already hanging high overhead.
Zhizhi saw them from a distance and came running over, excited. She hugged Su Muyu’s leg tightly and said loudly, “Sister! Why are you only getting up now? So lazy!”
Su Muyu’s face turned bright red from embarrassment. Shen Xingyue, on the other hand, just picked the little one up with a grin.
“Is that so? Our Zhizhi is so clever and responsible. Your sister and I just can’t keep up,” she said playfully.
As soon as Zhizhi heard Shen Xingyue praise her, she stood up even straighter, puffing out her little chest with pride.
Su Muyu, standing behind Shen Xingyue, reached forward and gently pinched the soft flesh at her waist. In a quiet voice, she said, “Stop teasing. Hurry up and bring Zhizhi inside.”
“Hiss—alright, alright, be gentle,” Shen Xingyue quickly surrendered with a grin.
She carried Zhizhi into the front hall and smiled at Liu Xiang. “Mother.”
“Ah, come sit and eat. Have a little more,” Liu Xiang replied warmly, smiling as she glanced between Shen Xingyue and her daughter without saying anything else.
Su Muyu could hardly eat without turning red. Her mother kept smiling at her the entire meal, making her feel too shy to even lift her head.
—
After lunch, Shen Xingyue and Su Muyu rode back to the Wang Manor in their carriage. Inside, Su Muyu sat sideways across Shen Xingyue’s lap, her fingers gently pinching her cheek as she leaned in to kiss the corner of her lips.
Shen Xingyue looked at the little kitten acting like royalty in her lap and let out a soft laugh. She pulled her into a tighter embrace and returned her kiss, gently pressing her lips to Su Muyu’s.
“Alright now, don’t pout. Are you tired? Want to lie down and rest for a bit?”
“Mhm.” Su Muyu let out a soft hum. The swaying of the carriage made her a little dizzy, so she curled up in Shen Xingyue’s arms and closed her eyes to rest.
—
Back at the Hall of Diligent Governance, Shen Yining was feeling noticeably better than the day before. Zhou Zixuan sat beside her, quietly wiping the sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief.
Since the imperial doctors were still nearby and she was fully conscious, the little Crown Princess didn’t dare say anything too personal. Instead, she simply smiled and said, “Thank you, Sister Zixuan.”
“There’s no need for thanks between us,” Zhou Zixuan replied softly, her ears turning a little red. After all, this was the same girl who had once asked for a kiss when she had a fever—and now she was suddenly being so polite.
The more Zhou Zixuan thought about that moment, the redder her ears became. She quickly stood up and said, “I’m going to get some water. I’ll be right back.”
“Alright. Make sure you drink enough and take care of yourself too,” Shen Yining answered seriously, her tone properly formal.
Outside, the Empress had just finished handling some affairs and was about to step inside to check on her daughter. But when she overheard what her daughter said, she nearly laughed aloud.
Zhou Zixuan quickly greeted the Empress before heading to a side room to fetch some water.
Shen Kaiyuan waved for the imperial doctors to step out and closed the door behind them.
Shen Yining, seeing this, assumed her mother had something important to say. “Mother, is there something you need to tell me?”
“It’s not anything serious,” Shen Kaiyuan said with a grin. “But do you remember the other day, when you were half-awake? You opened your eyes, looked at Zixuan, and told her you missed her. Then you asked her for a kiss, saying it wouldn’t hurt if she kissed you. You don’t remember that?”
Shen Yining’s face turned bright red, like she was about to burst into flames. She stared at her mother with wide eyes. “Wasn’t that a dream?!”
“You silly thing. You thought you were dreaming?” Shen Kaiyuan laughed. “Your consort mother and I were both there. We heard everything you said. As for whether she kissed you or not, we don’t know—we stepped out before that.”
Shen Yining wanted to disappear into the floor. She suddenly remembered she might’ve said more than just asking for a kiss—she even complimented Zhou Zixuan’s handkerchief, and confessed that she borrowed romance books from her cousin. Now she was sure her image as a serious and dignified person was completely ruined. She pouted, on the verge of tears.
I really am a proper person, she thought desperately.
Seeing her daughter’s expression, Shen Kaiyuan couldn’t help laughing. “It’s really nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s perfectly normal to want a kiss from the one you like. Don’t let it bother you. Rest for a while. I still have paperwork to go through. I’ll come check on you later.”
Shen Yining nodded stiffly, clearly feeling wronged. She really had thought it was just a dream.
—
When Zhou Zixuan returned, she noticed the imperial doctors sitting outside but didn’t ask questions. She quietly stepped back into the room and returned to her seat beside the bed, where Shen Yining was now looking at her with a very conflicted expression.
“What’s wrong, Your Highness?” she asked with a gentle smile. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Shen Yining hesitated for a moment, then finally said, “Sister Zixuan, I didn’t mean to take advantage of you the other day. I wasn’t thinking clearly—I had such a high fever. Please… don’t be angry with me.”
Her voice was soft, her eyes full of guilt and nervousness. Zhou Zixuan’s heart softened instantly. How could she possibly stay mad at her little piglet?
She smiled and teased, “So you remember that day after all? I thought you were going to pretend it didn’t happen.”
“I wouldn’t do that,” Shen Yining quickly said. “Once I feel better, I’ll ask Mother for permission to hold our wedding.”
Her palms were sweaty from how anxious she was. She looked like she was afraid of being rejected.
Zhou Zixuan’s heart melted. She was worried Yining might hurt herself from getting so worked up. She gently reached out, reassuring her with a soft voice, “Okay. I’ll wait for Your Highness.”
Then, her ears turning red again, she added shyly, “That day… it wasn’t your fault. I agreed to it. I wanted to. I don’t blame you.”
