Transmigrated Into A Scumbag Alpha Who Only Wants To Cuddle With Cat Omega - Chapter 12
The three of them collided head-on. After a closer look, the atmosphere suddenly changed.
The girl on the right, with her brown, curled hair and trendy clothes, stepped forward to shield An Yuanruan. Her eyes widened, her expression wary. “It’s you, Song Ran! You’re like a stubborn ghost! I’m here today, so don’t even think about bullying Yuanruan!”
An Yuanruan’s clear, almond-shaped eyes gazed steadily as she tugged at the hem of the girl’s shirt with pale fingers.
After sizing them up, Song Ran explained, “It was just an accident. I didn’t expect to run into you.”
“An accident? Weren’t you secretly glad? Let me tell you…”
Song Ran smiled helplessly. “You’re the ones who bumped into me, aren’t you, young lady?”
The girl’s anger fizzled out at these words.
This area had always been quiet. They’d been chatting so animatedly that they hadn’t been watching where they were going.
An Yuanruan, who had been standing silently behind her, stepped forward and said softly, “Song Ran, don’t make things difficult for Qingqing. We’re sorry. We can cover the damages.”
“It’s fine.” Song Ran glanced at her watch. It was getting late, and she didn’t plan to make a fuss. “No need for compensation. Just be more careful next time.”
“Hey, what’s your angle now?” The girl with the curled hair, hearing that Song Ran wouldn’t pursue the matter, remained skeptical. “Are you trying to curry favor with Ruanruan? Keep dreaming. Our Ruanruan would never be interested in someone like you…”
Song Ran cut her off with a faint smile. “I think you’ve misunderstood. First, I apologize for my past behavior, Ms. An. It was wrong, and I’m sorry. Second, I don’t feel anything beyond what strangers feel toward Ms. An. I’m married. Finally, please don’t slander my loyalty to my husband.”
The girl with the fluffy hair laughed as if she’d heard a great joke. “Oh my, you actually changed? Married? You’re killing me! Everyone in Jincheng knows how wild Ms. Song of the Song family was!”
Her words were sharp and clearly meant to hurt. The girl grinned mischievously. “Tell me, does your husband know how you used to play with Cheng Yuting? If we were you and her right now, you’d probably already be rolling around in bed a few times over, right?”
“Qingqing,” An Yuanruan said, tugging at Mo Qing as if to warn her. “Stop talking.”
A gentle autumn breeze lifted the pale purple hem of Song Ran’s skirt. Her luminous peach blossom eyes narrowed, their gaze suddenly intense and piercing. “Nothing like what you’re implying ever happened between Ms. Cheng and me. One more word, and I’ll have my lawyers sue you for slander.”
With that, she didn’t engage with them further, not sparing them even a single glance as she turned swiftly, opened the door, and settled into her vehicle.
The white sports car roared away, leaving Mo Qing and An Yuanruan standing in place. Mo Qing stamped her foot in anger. “What was that about? Is she going to sue me for libel? Has she lost her mind?”
“Alright, Qingqing,” An Yuanruan soothed. “As long as nothing serious came of it.”
“Yuanruan, Song Ran must have been drinking too much. Her behavior today was clearly an attempt to draw your attention. Don’t pay her any mind.”
Everyone in Jincheng’s high society knew that the Song family’s spoiled heiress had fallen head over heels for the An family’s sheltered daughter. She’d showered her with endless gifts—fresh flowers, diamond rings, sports cars, precious treasures—and even penned countless poems and songs in her honor.
An Yuanruan blinked. “Qingqing, but I really think… she seems different somehow.”
Mo Qing waved her hand dismissively. “She’s just putting on an act. I refuse to believe that!”
The wind scattered their voices. An Yuanruan gazed in the direction the sports car had driven off, her expression unreadable.
Inside the car, Song Ran rested her hands lightly on the steering wheel, glancing occasionally at the passenger seat.
When the music paused at a red light, she spoke up, “Sang Wu, I came today because I want to get into acting. I told you I don’t want to be a scumbag anymore, and I’m really interested in acting. I want to give it a try. What about you?”
The person beside her calmly looked out the window, ignoring her.
Song Ran smiled faintly. “Ignoring your big sister again, little Sang Wu?”
Her fingers, hanging at her sides, curled into fists at the words. Sang Wu bit her lip, her face growing pale.
Through the rearview mirror, she had just seen An Yuanruan and her friends.
She hadn’t known who An Yuanruan was until Song Ran, during each torment, would repeatedly mutter her name. That’s how she learned An Yuanruan was the person Song Ran liked.
She’s so beautiful, like a white rose. The memory flooded back. At the time, Song Ran had grabbed her head, forcing her to look at the photo, and hissed in her ear, “And you? A stinking rat in the gutter. What are you? Do you even think you’re worthy of me marrying you? Wouldn’t it be better if I sent you off to be their plaything?”
These words tormented her in her midnight reveries, echoing over and over.
She couldn’t escape, and there was no escape.
No one would help her, and no one would come to rescue her.
What was she?
She was indeed nothing.
“Sang Wu, it’s alright,” Song Ran said soothingly. “It’s fine if you can’t figure it out right now. I was just being too impatient. Life is so long; we’ll figure out what you want eventually if we take our time.”
As she spoke, Song Ran pulled a piece of candy from her jacket pocket and offered it to Sang Wu. “Here, I got this just for you. Please forgive your sister, okay?”
The light turned green, but seeing Sang Wu still hadn’t reacted, Song Ran pulled the car over and asked tentatively, “What’s wrong, Sang Wu?”
Finally, Sang Wu reacted, but she only shook her head slightly.
Song Ran wasn’t sure what to do. After watching her for a moment, she placed the candy in Sang Wu’s palm and coaxed, “This candy is really delicious. Won’t you try it?”
A tingling sensation spread from her palm, and a faint mistiness clouded Sang Wu’s almond-shaped eyes. She gradually closed her hand, tamping down her emotions. “I know.”
“Good girl. We should wrap up work soon, and then we can go shopping.”
“Mm.”
Upon arriving at Song Xing Entertainment, they were immediately greeted by staff.
Top-tier agents and managers had been waiting for some time. Despite their long careers in the glamorous entertainment industry, even they were momentarily stunned by the sight of the two women walking in.
For a moment, everything around them seemed to fade into insignificance. Unspoken thoughts flashed through their minds: Perhaps these two aren’t even human.
Without wasting time on pleasantries, the conversation quickly got down to business.
Sang Wu, however, remained quietly seated to the side, gazing out the window without a word.
“Ms. Song, might I ask who this is?” the agent couldn’t help but ask.
“No need for formalities. Just call me Song Ran.” Her neatly coiled hair had loosened, a few loose curls framing her neck with a vibrant charm. She smiled warmly at Sang Wu. “She’s my partner.”
The group was startled.
They had heard the Song Family’s Young Lady was married, but they never imagined her controversial spouse would be so strikingly beautiful.
After a moment, the agent recovered and offered praise. “Madam, you two make a perfect match.”
“Thank you,” Song Ran said with a smile. “We’ve covered most of the topics. Is there anything else you’d like to ask?”
As the young lady of the Song family, no one dared to treat her harshly. Song Ran was well aware of this and continued, “We’ll be partners in this venture, fighting side by side. There’s no need to hold back in front of me. Feel free to ask any questions.”
The public relations manager adjusted her glasses. “Then, may I ask, do you plan to keep your identity hidden or reveal it?”
The moment the words left her lips, the previously amicable atmosphere turned tense.
Song Ran tapped her fingers lightly, a sharp glint flashing in her eyes. “Is ‘Song Ran’ not sufficient?”
The group hastily replied, “Of course, that’s perfect.”
“Good. Then let’s agree on that.” She stood and walked toward Sang Wu. “We’re entrusting this to you all. Please contact us anytime if anything comes up. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be taking my leave now.”
“Goodbye.”
“Bye.”
As the two figures exited the conference room, the group exchanged surprised glances.
“I didn’t expect Ms. Song to have such a pleasant temperament.”
“Me neither! And she’s incredibly observant. She noticed I was staring at the remote and lowered the AC temperature for me.”
The manager chuckled. “Let’s look forward to a successful collaboration.”
By the time they left the company, it was almost noon.
The nearby mall was also under the Song Corporation’s ownership. Song Ran asked Sang Wu, “Do you want to eat out or go back and eat at home?”
Although it wasn’t quite quitting time, the crowd was already bustling.
Perhaps due to the lingering effects of the medication, Sang Wu didn’t feel hungry. She murmured, “Let’s go back and eat.”
“Alright,” Song Ran said, keeping close to Sang Wu. “Then let’s take a stroll through the mall. I’ll cook for you when we get home.”
Sang Wu nodded.
The mall was just three hundred meters straight ahead. The customer service manager immediately recognized Song Ran, but Song Ran declined her offer to help with shopping.
Inside the spacious mall, filled with a dazzling array of products, Song Ran mostly talked to herself as they wandered through the aisles, with Sang Wu remaining largely unresponsive. Even so, Song Ran could catch the way Sang Wu’s eyes lit up when she spotted something that caught her interest—clear and bright.
How could there be such an adorable little kitten like Sang Wu? she thought.
Compliantly, she added everything the little kitten showed interest in to the shopping cart. As they passed the hair accessories section, her gaze lingered on a pair of cat ear hair clips.
Sang Wu looked at her, puzzled.
Song Ran chuckled softly and quickly placed the hairband on the shopping cart.
As the mall grew increasingly crowded, they decided to stop after browsing two floors.
At checkout, since their purchases were minimal, she declined delivery and simply loaded the bags into the car trunk.
On the way home, Sang Wu seemed drowsy. Considerately, Song Ran turned off the music. The drive passed in silence, and Sang Wu only fully woke up when they arrived at the villa. She rubbed her eyes, the corners of her eyelids tinged with a smudge of color from her rubbing.
“Sang Wu.”
“Hmm?”
Her voice was softer than usual, making Song Ran want to put the cat ear hairband on her right then and there. “We’re home.”
Sang Wu ignored her and got out of the car.
Song Ran followed behind, carrying the bags. They walked at a leisurely pace, the roses in the garden blooming particularly vibrantly.
Upon entering the villa, Sang Wu felt a sudden thirst. As she moved to get a drink, Song Ran offered her a freshly purchased canned beverage.
The can was attractively designed, featuring a pink cherry and refreshing mint pattern, with a string of special letters engraved at the bottom.
“Try it. It looks delicious.”
Sang Wu didn’t refuse. She pulled the tab and took a few small sips.
The lingering taste was sweet.
Her mouth filled with the tang of lime.
Noticing Sang Wu’s silence, Song Ran put the groceries away in the kitchen. There were two refrigerators, and as she stored the drinks and fruits, she finally noticed the alcohol content labeled on the top right corner of the can:
5%.
Unfazed, Song Ran washed her hands and left the kitchen. She found Sang Wu, who had been quietly sitting on the sofa, suddenly lying flat on her back.
The hem of her skirt lifted slightly, revealing a calf as delicate and pale as a freshly peeled lotus root.
Suddenly realizing what had happened, Song Ran hurried over. Seeing Sang Wu’s flushed face and misty, almond-shaped eyes, she murmured, “You sly thing.”
In the next instant, Sang Wu turned away, her skirt rising even higher as her hair fell into disarray. Muffled, she whimpered, “Why? Why did you hit me?”
