Transmigrated as the Top-Tier Alpha's Secretly Married Ex-Wife - Chapter 58
Chapter 58
On the day of the premiere, Su Tuantuan wore a simple white dress paired with a fluffy knitted cardigan, which was warm and pretty. She pinned her hair up with a hairpin, making her whole demeanor much more gentle and graceful.
Before the official start of the premiere, the audience area was already filled with invited guests.
There were self-media reporters, journalists, and a small number of fans.
Su Tuantuan was touching up her makeup backstage when Liu Ting and Guan Yun came in. As if they had planned it, they wore matching black and white formal gowns, like a pair of black and white demons.
Liu Ting pulled out a chair next to Su Tuantuan and sat down. “Ms. Su, your schedule is quite full this year. I didn’t expect you to make it to the premiere.”
Su Tuantuan raised an eyebrow. Guan Yun also smiled. “If you’re here, why shouldn’t Ms. Su be? Oh, by the way, Liu Ting, congratulations on your award. You’ve really been making a splash. I see many domestic media outlets reporting on it; you’ve even made headlines a few times.”
Liu Ting said faintly, “It was just a minor award. It’s not like Ms. Su, who was nominated for the Golden Lion Award. That’s a major award.”
Su Tuantuan finished her makeup and gave a slight smile. “Major awards have nothing to do with me. My lipstick is done. Shall we go out now?”
Guan Yun looked at the time. “Wait a few minutes. Ms. Su, you go ahead.”
Su Tuantuan “Oh’d,” stood up to straighten her outfit, and then left through the door.
Guan Yun sat in the chair Su Tuantuan had just vacated. “Speaking of which, are you or I standing center stage later? We can’t let an Omega take the center spot, can we?”
Liu Ting lit a cigarette, her tone indifferent. “Sun Qiushuang favors her the most. If you don’t let her stand in the middle, should I let you?”
Liu Ting then smiled, turning to look at Guan Yun. “Speaking of which, these semi-new juniors are the quickest to become headstrong. If we let her stand in the middle later, I’d honestly be a bit unwilling.”
“Then you stand there.”
Guan Yun rested her chin in her hand. “That’s why I was so harsh on her on set. But you also made things difficult for her. If she were an ordinary person, her psychological state would probably have collapsed, and she’d never dare steal your spotlight again. But looking at her today, she doesn’t seem to realize it.”
Liu Ting exhaled a smoke ring, her tone ambiguous. “That means we didn’t press hard enough. So many people will be watching the premiere. Do we really want her to steal all the attention? I worked hard for so long, not to be a stepping stone for an Omega.”
Guan Yun became interested. “What do you want to do? Should we make things difficult for her on stage? Embarrassing her in public might not look good, right?”
If she genuinely becomes famous later, the blame would still fall on them.
Liu Ting’s eyes held an implied meaning. “Then we’ll make sure no one can tell. Just like when we were on set.”
The door to the makeup room suddenly opened.
The conversation instantly ceased.
Su Tuantuan stood at the doorway with her arms crossed. Meeting their awkward gaze, her eyes were cold, and her tone carried a hint of frost. “I forgot my phone. Sorry about that.”
Guan Yun hesitated, looking at Liu Ting. Liu Ting, however, remained composed, meeting Su Tuantuan’s gaze as if nothing had been said.
Su Tuantuan smiled, picked up her phone from the table, and put it to her ear, whispering, “Sweetheart, I forgot my phone just now. Why haven’t you hung up yet?”
The person on the other end must have said something. Su Tuantuan “Oh’d,” then gave Guan Yun and Liu Ting a meaningful look, a hint of playful mockery in her eyes. “Since you’ve arrived, go ahead and take a seat outside. The main cast is all here. I’ll be right out.”
She hung up, looked at her phone, and raised an eyebrow. “Wow, there’s even a recording file.”
She turned off the phone, her eyes bright and clear as she looked at the two. “You two seniors can rest here. I’m going to head out front and get ready to go on stage.”
Guan Yun stood up, nervously looking at the phone in Su Tuantuan’s hand, then at the change in Liu Ting’s expression. “Ms. Su, we were just chatting idly. We didn’t mean anything by it. Please don’t overthink it.”
Su Tuantuan curved her eyebrows and whispered, “Of course, I won’t overthink it. You just said that while filming, you deliberately made things difficult for me. Does that mean having me practice a scene dozens of times, being overly critical so that every breath had to be exactly what you wanted, and when filming the jumping-off-the-building scene, leaving me hanging on the wire for a whole day and night because I couldn’t achieve the effect you wanted?”
She smiled faintly. “Is that right?”
Hanging on the wire for a day and a night, almost breaking her bones, and then having to do it again.
The key was that the problems they raised always sounded like legitimate “issues” to Sun Qiushuang, so as the director, she fully cooperated with them.
The relationship between Su Tuantuan and Sun Qiushuang grew distant after that.
And she couldn’t say anything because they were being “professional” and “rigorous.” If she raised a question, then she would be the one with the problem; she would be the one being irresponsible.
Su Tuantuan chuckled lightly. “I didn’t expect such a disgusting thing to happen here. I thought you two were at least open and honest, not so underhanded.”
Guan Yun opened her mouth to speak, but Liu Ting immediately cut in. “As a newcomer with no achievements, if you want recognition, you have to pay a price hundreds or thousands of times greater than others. Who hasn’t gone through this? As seniors, there’s nothing wrong with guiding and supervising you, is there?”
Su Tuantuan folded her arms, maintaining an elegant posture. “Ms. Liu is so good at changing the subject, turning outright workplace bullying into assistance and supervision. Well, I’ll have to ask the other actors if they were supervised like this, too. If this were exposed, I imagine the two of you would find it hard to find collaborators in the future, wouldn’t you?”
She started to walk out. Guan Yun stopped her. “Ms. Su, we were just talking. Please just pretend you didn’t hear it. We’ll let you take the center position on stage later!”
Su Tuantuan leaned against the door, completely scornful. “I don’t care who stands center stage. I don’t value it at all. However, since you two care so much, now I absolutely must stand there. Otherwise, how can I live up to your painstaking efforts?”
Liu Ting’s face had already turned sour. Su Tuantuan smiled. “You two wouldn’t happen to think that as an Omega, I must be manipulated by you, would you?”
She sighed faintly. “It seems that scum really knows no gender.”
She had always believed that women could best understand other women.
But later, she realized that regardless of gender, once a person gained a societal advantage, they would find ways to elevate themselves above others.
She was an Omega, so they felt they could pull such stunts. If she were an Alpha, would these people dare?
“I’m not some soft persimmon to be squished by anyone. If you make me unhappy on stage later, or do anything to embarrass me, I will make your previous recording public. I think everyone will side with me, don’t you think?”
As Su Tuantuan said this, Guan Yun immediately walked toward her. “Ms. Su…!”
Su Tuantuan smiled coldly and turned to leave. Guan Yun looked at Liu Ting. “Ms. Liu, think of something! What if she really releases that recording?!”
“She won’t.”
Liu Ting’s tone was icy. “We’ll act enthusiastically later and won’t embarrass her. We’ll save her some face. For the sake of this film, she won’t cause trouble. In the future, we’ll just keep our distance from her.”
In truth, such things happened frequently in the industry.
Where there are people, there are politics, and where there are politics, there is controversy.
In the film industry, the cake is only so big. Everyone wants a piece, and they naturally can’t allow newcomers to easily have one, ensuring their own status is solidified.
Su Tuantuan, as a rising star who had been largely unknown for several years, suddenly bursting into prominence would make anyone feel threatened.
Liu Ting whispered, “She’s different from the others. She’s not so easy to manipulate. Forget it. We’ll just focus on our own things.”
Hearing this, Guan Yun could only agree to follow her advice.
The premiere began. The three stood together, with Su Tuantuan in the center. Sun Qiushuang was very enthusiastic, interacting with the host and then pulling Su Tuantuan to interact with the audience. The journalists asked many questions, and everything went smoothly.
Later, when they cut the cake together, Su Tuantuan and the other two leads held the plastic knife together, their hands touching as they neatly divided the cake.
Su Tuantuan saw many familiar faces sitting in the audience.
She saw a short-haired woman in a leather jacket and a baseball cap sitting in a secluded corner at the back.
Undoubtedly, that was Mo Xian.
Not wanting to divert anyone’s attention, she didn’t look back the entire time. When the segment ended, the full movie was screened. Everyone was settling in to watch. The other leads found their seats, and Su Tuantuan also prepared to leave the stage.
Guan Yun grabbed her, her face full of pleading. “Ms. Su, can we talk somewhere else?”
Su Tuantuan gave her a casual glance, then looked at the audience members who were already watching the film intently. “Sure.”
Her tone was completely nonchalant.
The two returned backstage. Guan Yun’s eyes were pleading. “Ms. Su, could you ask your friend to delete that audio file? If this gets out, Ms. Liu and I will really be ruined. Our reputation will be impossible to recover…”
Su Tuantuan’s gaze was especially cold. “Liu Ting didn’t come. Is she too proud, or does she think this has nothing to do with her from start to finish? Does she feel she doesn’t need to apologize?”
Guan Yun whispered, “Ms. Liu has a proud personality. I can’t force her to come. I’ll be honest with you: on the set, she was the one who suggested teaching you a lesson. I never thought that way… Ms. Su…”
“Shifting the blame? That doesn’t seem like your style, Ms. Guan.”
Su Tuantuan smiled. “Don’t worry. I won’t delete the file until I receive a formal apology. I’m not a troublemaker. In a civilized society, we must be reasonable.”
She patted Guan Yun’s shoulder, her smile dazzling. “Wouldn’t you agree?”
In truth, there was no phone call and no audio file. When she returned to get her phone, she overheard their conversation and acted on the spot. Later, she did record a few things, but it was all to bluff the two of them.
Su Tuantuan’s smile faltered as she saw Mo Xian standing not far behind Guan Yun.
She curved her eyebrows. “Alright, this is how we’ll handle this for now. Once you apologize, I naturally won’t trouble you. I think digging into the experiences of other newcomers who have worked with you should…”
Guan Yun immediately rushed off to find Liu Ting.
Su Tuantuan looked at her retreating figure with a cold smile, then turned to Mo Xian, who had walked up to her, covering half her face, looking incredibly wronged. “Tuantuan.”
