Transmigrated as the Top-Tier Alpha's Secretly Married Ex-Wife - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
When the stage lights flashed and the final vote tally appeared on the big screen, everyone gasped.
Xu Junzhuo eagerly looked back. After seeing the numbers, he breathed a sigh of relief, clearly feeling relieved. He Xiyao also glanced back; her face showed no surprise, only a “this is as it should be” calmness.
Meng Han saw Su Tuantuan completely still and laughed in exasperation. “Su Tuantuan, aren’t you going to look back?”
Su Tuantuan raised an eyebrow. “I think I’ve guessed the result.”
She still turned and looked.
When she saw the light bar belonging to her on the screen almost reaching the top, while the second-place Xu Junzhuo’s was only half as tall, she was slightly surprised.
“Congratulations to Su Tuantuan, who won the overall champion of this season’s The Road to Performance with 26.87 million votes!”
“In second place is Xu Junzhuo, with a total of 9.61 million votes. Congratulations, Xu Junzhuo!”
“He Xiyao’s total vote count is 5.32 million. Congratulations, He Xiyao!”
As soon as the votes were announced, the screen was flooded with comments.
: “My Sister Tuan is miles ahead! This is purely an overwhelming victory!”
: “Ahhh! Su Tuantuan, you are my god!”
Meng Han also smiled, finally feeling relieved. Ban Shan said sourly, “Meng Han is happy now. She has an heir. Su Tuantuan, you’ve brought great honor to Female Omegas!”
Ban Shan voted for Xu Junzhuo precisely because Xu Junzhuo was a Male Alpha, so he favored him, but his preference was useless. Su Tuantuan’s popularity was an authority no one could challenge.
The celebration party was held at a hotel.
An hour later, everyone appeared in the hotel ballroom. Actors who had previously participated in the competition also returned, hoping for another chance to be seen.
The host stood on the stage, seating everyone. Once they were settled, she slowly began talking about the development of the show and the feedback it had received over the past month and a half.
Su Tuantuan sat there drinking, while Jiang Zhizhi constantly ate snacks. She was starving after the show had been live-streamed until now.
She had been cheering for Su Tuantuan all along, terrified that Su Tuantuan wouldn’t win the championship.
The host began the awards ceremony. “Let’s welcome the third-place winner of this season’s The Road to Performance, He Xiyao!”
The applause was thunderous. Su Tuantuan took two sips of wine. Her phone vibrated twice. She picked it up and saw a message from Mo Xian.
Mo Xian: “Tuantuan, congratulations.”
Su Tuantuan didn’t reply.
Mo Xian: “Drink less.”
Su Tuantuan pretended not to see it, glanced at the stage. He Xiyao was being called upon by the host to perform a talent. He Xiyao kept a straight face and said she had no talent. The host pestered her to play a game.
She replied to Mo Xian, “Are you very free, to have time to manage me?”
Mo Xian: “No, I’m just thinking about you.”
Su Tuantuan: “…”
This one is a veteran.
She must have flirted with girls often before, right?
Su Tuantuan: “Then take your time thinking. I’m busy.”
She put down her phone, clinked glasses with Bai Xue, and continued drinking.
He Xiyao blew up balloons against a plate, but they flew everywhere. Everyone roared with laughter. Netizens called He Xiyao cute, and some, looking at Su Tuantuan, liked her more and more.
: “Su Tuantuan is looking at her phone. Is she replying to someone? Hahaha, I feel like this sister is so cool, doing everything calmly.”
: “Yes, yes, I love her so much! I want her to act! Modern or costume dramas are fine!”
Bai Xue whispered, “You’re amazing this time. Don’t forget me when you get rich.”
Su Tuantuan smiled. “No problem.”
Her phone rang again at that moment.
Su Tuantuan opened it and saw a message from Mo Xian, “I have a champion gift to give you.”
Su Tuantuan: “No thanks, I can’t afford it.”
The phone immediately vibrated again. It was a call from Mo Xian.
Su Tuantuan hung up without thinking.
Mo Xian was persistent and called a second time. Su Tuantuan looked at the screen, hung up again, and then the host noticed the commotion and walked over, smiling. “Su Tuantuan, I noticed you were looking at your phone. Are you sharing the post-competition joy with your friend?”
Su Tuantuan curved her lips. “Yes.”
The host’s eyes twinkled. “That’s wonderful! Can we connect via phone and share the joy with this person?”
Su Tuantuan: “…”
She quietly pressed the power button to turn off the phone.
When the host finished speaking, she raised her phone. “I talked too long just now; the battery died.”
Her expression was so natural, completely devoid of falsehood. The host smiled, changed the subject, and went to present the award to Xu Junzhuo.
Su Tuantuan didn’t look at her phone again, tucking it into her purse.
She was so annoyed she wanted to smoke.
“I’m going out for a bit.”
She told Bai Xue. Bai Xue grabbed the corner of her skirt. “It’ll be your turn soon. Where are you going?”
She whispered, “To the restroom.”
Bai Xue waved her hand, watching her leave.
Su Tuantuan found a corner with no cameras, leaned against the wall behind a camellia bush, and lit a cigarette. Her phone was off, but her heart felt unsettled.
Damn, for some reason, she missed Mo Xian a little.
Su Tuantuan rubbed the corner of her eye. The cigarette wasn’t even halfway finished when she smelled the scent of champagne roses.
She froze. Looking up, a tall, slender figure stood there, still wearing a hat and mask, carrying a bouquet of champagne roses.
The lighting was so dim, and there was no one else in the backyard. Su Tuantuan raised an eyebrow. “Were those roses the other day from you?”
Mo Xian tugged her mask down slightly and stepped forward, handing the bouquet to her.
Su Tuantuan didn’t take it, narrowing her eyes slightly. “Did you fly back just to celebrate my championship?”
Mo Xian didn’t avoid her gaze. “Yes.”
Su Tuantuan straightened up. The off-the-shoulder long dress, set against the roses, looked stunning.
The cigarette butt was getting hot on Su Tuantuan’s hand. She stubbed it out and tossed it into the flower bed. “The gift you mentioned is this? Mo Xian, I’m not a kind soul. My behavior towards you before… wasn’t exactly good, was it? If you decide you want to pursue me, I can tell you something.”
She looked up, meeting Mo Xian’s eyes. “I’m not easily won over.”
Mo Xian, holding the roses, looked calm. “I know.”
“You don’t know anything.”
Su Tuantuan looked at her and felt she was naive and foolish. “What could you possibly know? And what do you even like about me?”
She didn’t plan to indulge her, nor did she want the roses. She turned to leave, but Mo Xian grabbed her wrist.
Mo Xian’s grip was firm, but Su Tuantuan didn’t feel pain.
“I know you’re different from the old Su Tuantuan.”
Mo Xian’s voice was soft, yet perfectly clear. “If you and the former Su Tuantuan are not the same person, then that’s all the better for me.”
Mo Xian loosened her grip, her hand dropping weakly. “I just like the current you. From the beginning until now, only the current you.”
She knew saying this might sound like she was a heartless person.
But her thoughts were truly this simple.
Su Tuantuan’s expression changed slightly. “You’re not leaving the country anymore?”
“I am.”
Mo Xian whispered, dropping her gaze. “I only have an hour to see you, which is why I kept calling you.”
Su Tuantuan figured the round trip would be tight even with an hour.
A strange feeling rose in her heart. “So, you flew back and forth just to give me a bouquet and say congratulations?”
Mo Xian didn’t dare to look up at her, only humming in affirmation.
She sounded like she had a cold, her voice a little nasal.
Su Tuantuan didn’t know why, but her mood suddenly improved quite a bit.
She felt a little despicable.
But right now, she was enjoying Mo Xian’s pursuit.
“I’ve accepted the flowers, and I’ve received your blessing. Your mission is complete.”
Su Tuantuan took the bouquet of champagne roses, pretending to be utterly calm. “You, too, can go back.”
Mo Xian didn’t move.
“I’ll watch you go inside.”
Su Tuantuan smiled again, this time genuinely. “If I stayed out and you couldn’t see me, what would you do?”
Wouldn’t that be a wasted trip?
Mo Xian looked up, her dark eyes gazing at her deeply.
Su Tuantuan felt uncomfortable under her stare, afraid she wouldn’t be able to keep up the facade. “Then I’ll go in first.”
“I would leave the flowers at your doorstep.”
Mo Xian answered without hesitation. “You’ll receive them eventually. And you’ll be more surprised than knowing they were from me.”
There was a hint of grievance in her voice.
“You don’t have feelings for me, and you don’t like me anyway.”
She paused. “Whether I give them to you in person or not, it probably doesn’t matter that much.”
Su Tuantuan licked her teeth. She felt so mean.
She was toying with this poor little thing, manipulating her every day, knowing she liked her, and constantly saying she didn’t like her or have feelings for her.
She was a top idol.
Why was this top idol so obsessed with romance?
Su Tuantuan felt a little awkward. “Mo Xian, even if I accepted your pursuit, your fans wouldn’t agree.”
Mo Xian’s body stiffened.
Su Tuantuan: “I don’t want to be with you and have to constantly face your fans’ scrutiny and be chased and cursed by them every day. And don’t think about hiding this relationship like before.”
Her smile was playful. “The former Su Tuantuan would agree to a secret marriage, but I won’t. If I, Su Tuantuan, am going to be with someone, it must be open and aboveboard. I also don’t want my identity to be merely ‘Mo Xian’s girlfriend’ when I go out.”
She was afraid Mo Xian didn’t understand. “Do you understand me?”
She had been very clear, so how could Mo Xian not understand?
Mo Xian’s mind was a bit blank, still processing the information implied in Su Tuantuan’s words. She then saw Su Tuantuan put down the bouquet and untie the green silk scarf from her wrist.
The light green color was the color of spring, the color of gently rippling green waves.
Su Tuantuan moved closer to her. Mo Xian subconsciously backed away a step.
Su Tuantuan grabbed the collar of her hoodie.
Mo Xian couldn’t retreat any further.
Su Tuantuan tied the silk scarf onto the hoodie’s drawstring.
She tied it into a very beautiful bow.
Su Tuantuan let go, satisfied, stepped back to look at the bow, and then met Mo Xian’s slightly elongated, phoenix-like eyes.
“This is a return gift.”
Su Tuantuan picked up the roses from the ground and turned to walk toward the front courtyard. The front hall was bustling with noise, and the host seemed to be calling her name.
After a few steps, Su Tuantuan looked back.
She was like a silhouette in the light. When she turned back, she saw Mo Xian still standing rooted to the spot.
She smiled, didn’t turn back again, and slowly walked away.
Mo Xian’s mouth was dry. Thinking of Su Tuantuan’s glance and smile just now, she closed her eyes and slowly exhaled a heavy breath.
