Transmigrated as the Top-Tier Alpha's Secretly Married Ex-Wife - Chapter 31
Chapter 31
“Tuantuan.”
Mo Xian called out to her.
Su Tuantuan hesitated for a moment before approaching her.
“Is something the matter?”
Her attitude was quite indifferent. Compared to others, she didn’t have much patience for Mo Xian, yet Mo Xian didn’t seem angry. She held out a tin of throat lozenges. “I noticed your voice sounded a bit strained during the live stream. I brought these. They can quickly help restore your voice.”
She looked well-behaved, as if she had truly only come to deliver a tin of lozenges.
Without any ulterior motives.
Su Tuantuan didn’t take it, and Mo Xian didn’t retract her hand. “I’m leaving for an international tour tomorrow. I might be back in a month, so I won’t be able to attend your finals celebration—”
Her eyes were cast down, her eyelashes casting a shadow. “Maybe you won’t think it’s important, and maybe you even dislike me, but I still wanted to come and see you.”
Su Tuantuan felt a little heavy-hearted.
She knew deeply that she didn’t dislike Mo Xian; she even longed for her whenever she took the initiative to appear.
But humans are complex creatures.
She knew this wasn’t the right time to fall in love, but she also didn’t want Mo Xian to truly give up on her and stop liking her.
If she had worried about Mo Xian and Qiao Yanran before, she no longer had to.
The lozenges came in simple packaging: a green tin box with a crude label.
Su Tuantuan accepted it and opened it, seeing small square candies inside. She took one out and tasted it. A faint medicinal flavor filled her mouth, but it wasn’t unpleasant.
It was sweet.
Her throat did feel much better after eating it.
She hadn’t said many lines during the performance, so no one noticed her voice was hoarse when she shouted. Next week, with the added responsibility of coaching several actors, she didn’t know how much strain her voice would endure.
Mo Xian had actually noticed.
She felt a momentary surge of emotion.
But it was just a tiny bit.
Su Tuantuan looked at Mo Xian. “Thank you.”
Mo Xian looked up at her.
Her eyes were clear and cautious, afraid of displeasing her and even more afraid that Su Tuantuan would bring up the loss of control on the KTV sphere chair last time.
Fortunately, Su Tuantuan’s expression was completely normal.
Mo Xian sighed in relief.
“Good luck with the competition. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you need help, you can come to me.”
Su Tuantuan stared intently at her, causing Mo Xian’s eyes to look confused. “So, I’ll go now?”
Su Tuantuan nodded and waved her hand. “Go on.”
Mo Xian hadn’t expected her to be so heartless and dismiss her.
She looked back three times but eventually left the hall.
Su Tuantuan leaned weakly against the wall, chewing the square candy. Her heart was racing, and her mind was filled with Mo Xian’s face.
She acted cold enough, right?
Liking someone has an expiration date. If that liking goes unreturned, no matter how intense, it will eventually dissipate. Su Tuantuan blinked, flicked off the hall light with a “click,” and intended to go find Bai Xue and the others.
She straightened up and realized that Mo Xian had somehow come back.
Her hat was raised a little, her mask was pulled down to her chin, and her hands were clutching her hoodie, looking a little nervous.
Su Tuantuan raised an eyebrow, the ginger scent of the candy still lingering in her mouth. “Why are you back? You—”
Her question was cut short.
Because Mo Xian hugged her.
Mo Xian wrapped her arms around her in a bear hug, resting her chin on Su Tuantuan’s shoulder, her voice apologetic. “Tuantuan, just one hug, okay?”
Su Tuantuan didn’t move, her body slightly stiff.
She hugged her first and then asked? Wasn’t this asking for permission after the fact???
After about ten seconds, Su Tuantuan cleared her throat. “Any longer and there will be a fee.”
Mo Xian slowly let go of her.
“I’m sorry.”
In the dim light, only the corridor light shone through. Mo Xian tactfully backed up a few steps, looked deeply at her, and said, “I’m leaving now. Good luck.”
This time, she really left and didn’t look back. She was more decisive than last time, but Su Tuantuan’s heart felt like it was being squeezed.
She cursed inwardly. She really lives up to her status as a top idol; she has a certain knack for manipulating people.
She wondered if Mo Xian was genuinely innocent or just pretending to be a playgirl.
She turned around and was startled by a dark figure behind her. Su Tuantuan let out a small yelp. Bai Xue had secretly appeared, clutching her phone.
Su Tuantuan didn’t know what Bai Xue had just witnessed. In the dim light, Bai Xue waved her phone. “They said it’s too late for delivery, so we ordered barbecue. Do you want anything else?”
Bai Xue paused. “I noticed your throat wasn’t well, so I ordered rock sugar stewed pear for you.”
Su Tuantuan collected herself and walked with her to the dining hall. “Oh, I don’t usually eat much at night. I’ll just have some alcohol later.”
As they walked, Bai Xue suddenly asked, “So, what exactly is your relationship with Mo Xian now?”
Su Tuantuan had only said before that they had no relationship.
But now Mo Xian had come to find her.
And she brought a gift. It didn’t seem normal.
Bai Xue thoughtfully looked at the throat lozenges in her hand. “We’re friends now, right?”
Su Tuantuan helping her with the lawsuit and supporting her on Weibo all confirmed their friendship.
It didn’t seem inappropriate for friends to ask questions, did it?
Bai Xue quickly added, “If you don’t want to say, never mind. I didn’t really want to know—”
“She’s pursuing me.”
Su Tuantuan’s tone was breezy. “Nothing happened between her and me before, but I forced her to marry me. We got divorced a while ago. She gave me the car and the house. Now she regrets it and wants to win me back. It’s that simple.”
She turned her head to look at Bai Xue. “Anything else you want to know?”
She wouldn’t tell Sun Qiushuang or Jiang Zhizhi about this private matter, but she told Bai Xue.
Bai Xue was startled. She hadn’t expected her to be so honest. She paused. “I was just curious. Aren’t you afraid I’ll expose this to the paparazzi and they’ll cause you trouble?”
She had told her everything.
Su Tuantuan was nonchalant. “It’s fine.”
She didn’t look at Bai Xue. “If you wanted to harm me, why wait until now?”
Bai Xue’s eyes instantly reddened.
She hadn’t expected Su Tuantuan to think that.
“…Oh.”
She was a little awkward. “I saw those online comments. Thank you for speaking up for me and for keeping those things secret so I could rehearse without pressure…”
Bai Xue mumbled, “Anyway, thank you.”
Jiang Zhizhi saw the two approaching and waved. “Tuantuan! I ordered several big grilled kidneys! Come quickly and stock up! You can coach us tomorrow after you’ve recovered!”
Su Tuantuan: “…”
She exchanged glances with Bai Xue, opened a can of beer, and said in a voice only Bai Xue could hear, “You’re welcome.”
Everyone was quite drunk that night. Several people hadn’t expected to advance.
Jiang Zhizhi, in particular, cried drunkenly while holding Bai Xue’s hand and apologizing. “I didn’t mean to say I should advance! I just wanted to win so much, wuwuwu. I know I performed so badly…”
Bai Xue looked embarrassed. After crying to Bai Xue, Jiang Zhizhi turned and hugged Su Tuantuan, who was drinking alone, and continued crying. “Tuan, you are my parent who gave me a second life. I’ll never forget you, even if I forget everyone else! Mom! You are my mom!”
Su Tuantuan nearly choked on her drink. She coughed several times and, along with the others, had to forcefully push Jiang Zhizhi back into bed.
Jiang Zhizhi squirmed in bed like a worm. “Let me up! I can still drink! I can still drink!”
Su Tuantuan slammed the door shut, rubbed her temples, and looked at the other similarly drunk people. “Alright, everyone go to sleep.”
The others were also quite drunk and staggered back to their beds. Bai Xue remained sitting on the floor, hugging a bottle and crying.
When Su Tuantuan walked over, Bai Xue’s shoulders were twitching, but she didn’t make a sound. Su Tuantuan called her name, but Bai Xue didn’t hear, immersed in her own world. When Su Tuantuan called her again, Bai Xue slowly turned her head to look at her, her face covered in tears.
Su Tuantuan froze.
Then she heard Bai Xue crying while opening her phone. “My money was stolen…”
Su Tuantuan walked over. Bai Xue frantically poked the calculator. “I had three million just now, and in the blink of an eye, it’s all gone. All gone…”
Su Tuantuan: “…”
Why did she agree to drink with these people?!
She tried to pull Bai Xue up but couldn’t. Bai Xue clung to the table, refusing to let go, demanding that the table compensate her.
Su Tuantuan gave up, retrieved a blanket, and covered Bai Xue with it.
Bai Xue, covered by the blanket and hugging the wine bottle, cried while lying on the floor.
She was determined to hold the table responsible.
Su Tuantuan tidied up the mess before washing up and going to sleep.
Lying in bed, she saw text messages from Mo Xian.
Mo Xian: “Tuantuan, can I add your WeChat?”
Mo Xian: “Never mind if it’s inconvenient. Tuantuan, good night.”
Su Tuantuan opened WeChat but didn’t see a friend request from Mo Xian. She added Mo Xian through the common group chat and was surprised that the addition went through immediately.
The acceptance was almost instant.
Mo Xian: “Jumping/ (A little emoji)”
Then came a long period of “The other party is typing…”
Su Tuantuan grew impatient and sleepy, but the input result never came. She yawned.
Su Tuantuan: “Going to sleep.”
Mo Xian: “Good night. Moon/ (A moon emoji)”
Su Tuantuan put down her phone, closed her eyes, and still felt that Mo Xian didn’t seem like an Alpha.
She used to think Mo Xian was a little wolf cub.
Now…
She was, at most, a husky.
Mo Xian, who was waiting for Su Tuantuan’s reply, was lying in bed, watching a highlight reel of Su Tuantuan’s performance clips, a smile unconsciously spreading across her face.
As she smiled, she checked the time; it was already two in the morning.
Her flight was at seven a.m., and she had to leave for the airport early. Even if she slept, it wouldn’t be enough.
Mo Xian put down her phone, closed her eyes contentedly, her mind replaying the moment Su Tuantuan grabbed her collar and kissed her.
Mo Xian let out a cry, buried her head in the pillow, squinted her eyes, and hugged the pillow. She quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Su Tuantuan was awakened by noise the next day.
The live stream had already begun, and outside was Bai Xue’s roar, “Su Tuantuan! Why didn’t you carry me back to bed!!!”
Su Tuantuan squinted, her hair messy. She pulled open the door and looked at the equally sleepy group. Jiang Zhizhi was still dozing, leaning against the wall with her eyes closed.
Su Tuantuan looked at Bai Xue.
She was clutching the blanket, furious. Su Tuantuan choked up. “I had to be able to carry you, didn’t I?”
Su Tuantuan didn’t know that when the live stream started, netizens were puzzled by the quiet dorm area, wondering if these people were already so lax before the competition ended.
The director had intentionally given them extra time to sleep in today.
This meant that no one went to wake up Bai Xue, who was sleeping on the floor.
Bai Xue, wrapped in a blanket and hugging a wine bottle, was widely screenshotted by netizens for her meme-worthy expressions.
One picture of Bai Xue sprawled on the floor, drooling slightly, was captioned: “Help me up, Your Majesty, I can still drink.”
Bai Xue burst into tears and ran to the washroom to clean up.
Netizens: “Hahahaha, why do I love watching Bai Xue cry so much?”
: “Some people, they look like a cool big sister on the surface, but they’re actually useless crybabies.”
Su Tuantuan: “…”
She hadn’t expected that Bai Xue’s public goodwill would increase so much because of this.
