Transmigrated as the Top-Tier Alpha's Secretly Married Ex-Wife - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
“Is that important?”
Su Tuantuan zipped up her suitcase, straightened up, and pulled it. The 24-inch suitcase wasn’t heavy; it only held a few items.
She turned her head and smiled faintly at Mo Xian. “We are already divorced. I believe that you, A-Xian, have accepted this result. Since the result is out, isn’t it a bit ungraceful to chase after the reason now?”
Mo Xian’s breathing hitched. They hadn’t exchanged many words these past two days. Aside from the single lotus seed on the day she arrived, Su Tuantuan was more visibly wary of her than Mo Xian was when the cameras were on.
“If you absolutely must ask why I clung to you and insisted on marrying you back then—”
Su Tuantuan lifted her eyes. They were extremely lively and clear. “You are the highly anticipated A-Xian, a top star, so of course you have many admirers. As an obsessive fan, isn’t it understandable that I wanted to get close to my idol and indulge in a daydream about her?”
Su Tuantuan paused. “Of course, I must admit my mistake. After all, that kind of behavior was truly impolite and caused you, the person involved, harm. But I understand now.”
Su Tuantuan’s smile was like that of an innocent child. “An idol and a lover are different. Some affections cannot be forced. Instead of clinging to you and living a long-lasting daydream, I might as well wake up and let go to find the sky that truly belongs to me.”
She pulled her suitcase and moved closer to Mo Xian. “A-Xian, what do you think?”
Did this make her seem shameless?
Su Tuantuan couldn’t help it.
The original novel’s author insisted on writing it that way. Since she hadn’t committed those sins, putting herself in that position, there was no better excuse.
Mo Xian remained silent. Su Tuantuan pulled the suitcase and opened the door, leaving without even a goodbye.
Mo Xian felt inexplicably sad.
It was just affection for an idol.
She gave up simply because their interaction was too dull, too boring, and she felt Mo Xian was completely different from the one on stage, so she let go.
Did she misunderstand?
She misunderstood.
Su Tuantuan had never loved her deeply; all that concern and passion were just the ashes after a great fire.
Once it burned out, nothing remained.
Mo Xian lowered her head and smiled, her mood complex.
In hindsight, she truly felt the heat when the fire was burning.
But the pain truly began only after it had burned out.
Her nails dug into her palm, and she could only feel the coldness of her fingertips rooting itself in her passionate heart.
Her self-respect, or perhaps her pride, was crushed to nothing by Su Tuantuan’s few sentences.
“Su Tuantuan, it turns out you are far more heartless than I am.”
“Achoo!”
Su Tuantuan, hugging her script, sneezed several times. Xiaoyu came over and handed her mint water. “I told you not to set the air conditioner too low. You caught a cold, didn’t you? A cold is awful this season!”
Her throat was itchy and dry when she spoke. Su Tuantuan had drunk almost two kettles of water today and was running to the bathroom more frequently than anyone. She stuffed tissue into her nostril. Qiao Yanran handed her a bottle of loquat syrup.
“Drink some of this. Your throat will feel much better, or you’ll cough even worse tonight.”
The loquat syrup had no label and looked homemade. Su Tuantuan turned and smiled at Qiao Yanran, looking a little comical. “Thank you, Yanran.”
“Don’t mention it, Jie Jie. You’re the one who got me a ticket to A-Xian’s concert. I have to properly remember this kindness.”
Qiao Yanran squeezed in beside her and sat down on a newspaper, no different from the extras. “We’ll leave together then!”
Su Tuantuan agreed and looked at the furious director. The director was raging, hands on his hips, shouting, “Is it that hard for you to act as a guard?! I ask you to stand there as a backdrop to highlight a heroic and brave aura, but why are you cowering there!”
After scolding them, the director rushed over to drink water. Seeing Su Tuantuan resting, he rarely didn’t flare up. Instead, his expression softened. “Tuantuan, if you have a cold, rest more. Come back to film when you are well. Your state must be the best. Don’t worry; if it’s hot outside, go inside.”
Su Tuantuan felt somewhat “overwhelmed by the favor.” The director’s attitude towards her was usually not bad, but not particularly good either. Only recently did she feel like the director had taken the wrong medicine.
His attitude toward her was fine.
She hadn’t performed exceptionally well, had she?
Her acting… was just so-so, right?
Su Tuantuan forced a smile, feeling extremely awkward under the gaze of the other actors.
Qiao Yanran muttered, “The director actually did get fifty signed photos from A-Xian. A-Xian’s company is very good at handling things. They said that since this was A-Xian’s first time participating in film and television acting, these were to thank the director’s team for their efforts.”
Qiao Yanran couldn’t help but laugh. “Such eloquent words. With A-Xian’s status, guest-starring is already flattering the director, not to mention being so thoughtful and thorough in handling matters. Not hurtful at all. Truly the style of a top star.”
Su Tuantuan didn’t say anything.
Thinking back to Mo Xian’s manager, who always looked at her with extreme suspicion, the style of a top star?
She laughed. It was probably just being cautious, watchful, and careful not to make enemies!
The concert time arrived in a blink.
Su Tuantuan and Qiao Yanran traveled together from Hengcheng, and they would meet up with Sun Qiuqiu in Haicheng.
The concert was only scheduled to start in the evening, but Sun Qiuqiu was already there showing off the keychains and banners she had made. While Qiao Yanran went to shower, Sun Qiuqiu leaned over and whispered to Su Tuantuan, “Why did you bring her?”
Su Tuantuan was looking down, helping to sort through the room full of fan support items. The wristbands and stickers were all beautiful, designed entirely by Sun Qiuqiu.
“Same crew, on the way, so we came together. I told you before.”
She noticed Sun Qiuqiu’s mood was off. “You don’t like Yanran? She’s a Guang Xian too, and she really likes A-Xian. As a fellow Guang Xian, you shouldn’t be cliquish.”
This was her stating her position.
The sound of hair drying came from the bathroom.
Sun Qiuqiu whined, “I don’t dislike her. I just feel like she’s different from us…”
She couldn’t quite describe it herself. “Ugh, anyway, I just feel like she has ulterior motives for A-Xian. Her fan feelings aren’t pure like ours.”
Su Tuantuan laughed. “Are you a fortune teller? Do you have mind-reading abilities? You can tell what someone’s thinking at a glance?”
“It’s true!”
Sun Qiuqiu was annoyed. “She has that vibe, don’t you get it! Women’s sixth sense, besides, we Omegas are very sensitive to these things!”
Su Tuantuan rolled her eyes. “Alright, alright, whatever you say. You must be a dog.”
She admired Sun Qiuqiu’s perceptiveness.
After all, Qiao Yanran was the female lead, so how could she be the same as an ordinary person?
The sound of the hairdryer stopped. Qiao Yanran came out humming a tune. Sun Qiuqiu pouted, said nothing, and continued arranging her fan support items.
Su Tuantuan was quite worried that Sun Qiuqiu’s childish behavior would hurt Qiao Yanran. After all, Qiao Yanran was just a young girl, friendly, and lively—definitely someone people wanted to protect.
Fortunately, even though Sun Qiuqiu was impulsive, having been in the industry for a while, she maintained outward appearances.
Although she wasn’t as warm to Qiao Yanran as Su Tuantuan was, she wasn’t openly rude.
In the afternoon, the three were fully disguised and arrived at the venue.
The three had different seat numbers. Sun Qiuqiu and Su Tuantuan were next to each other. Qiao Yanran was very far away, almost a galaxy apart, but all were in the inner circle. They planned to return to the hotel directly after the concert.
The concert started soon.
Su Tuantuan never took off her mask. The bucket hat obscured her face. As she sat there, holding her light stick, she saw Mo Xian on stage wearing a revealing camisole top. She felt her blood pressure surge, and her mind felt like it was exploding.
The silver-gray camisole and black, shimmering, well-draped dance pants. Mo Xian had changed her hair color again to a rarely seen, wild red.
The fans behind her laughed, calling her a “red-haired monster.”
Mo Xian smiled, picked up the microphone, and greeted the crowd. Su Tuantuan found it very strange.
She clearly understood that Mo Xian belonged to the female lead and was off-limits, yet after every concert, she couldn’t stop thinking about Mo Xian’s every look and performance.
It became a medicine for lonely spring nights.
It became a whisper when she felt isolated and helpless.
It screamed in her mind, screamed:
“Pull her down from the altar, pull her down from the altar, let her fall with you.”
Su Tuantuan shook her head.
She pushed that base, hateful voice to the back of her mind.
After the concert ended, Su Tuantuan and Sun Qiuqiu returned to the hotel first, but Qiao Yanran was late. Su Tuantuan was worried something had happened to Qiao Yanran. Sun Qiuqiu suddenly shot up from the bed. “I knew she was trouble! You still didn’t believe me!”
Su Tuantuan leaned over. Sun Qiuqiu showed her the messages in the fan group. “She took off her mask at the concert, and her hat fell off! She was recognized by the Guang Xians and lots of photos were taken!”
Sun Qiuqiu cried out in frustration. “I cover myself up completely every time! I absolutely don’t want to use A-Xian’s fame! Why is she like this!”
Su Tuantuan also saw Qiao Yanran in the videos and photos.
When Qiao Yanran realized she was being photographed, she was first startled, then slightly embarrassed. She picked up her hat and put it back on, continuously mouthing an apology.
The fan groups were all chatting.
: “The pretty girl is also at the concert! So cute! And she clearly didn’t want to be noticed. Everyone, please don’t spread this video widely!”
: “Hahaha, she’s so adorable! Her panic makes me want to pinch her cheeks! Turns out celebrities are fans too!”
Then the major fan who ran the ticket giveaway spoke up.
: “Her seat number was for a ticket I gave away on Weibo, so she’s one of us Guang Xians. Her account must be actively supporting A-Xian every day, or she wouldn’t have been eligible to win the ticket.”
The fan group burst into laughter, gaining a large wave of favorable public opinion. The Guang Xians rushed to follow Qiao Yanran’s Weibo.
Sun Qiuqiu was shaking with anger. “Are these people brainless? Can’t they tell she took off her mask on purpose! She definitely knocked her hat off intentionally!”
As the female lead in the novel, Qiao Yanran had a bit of “luck” surrounding her.
But coincidence wasn’t necessarily scheming.
Su Tuantuan comforted Sun Qiuqiu. “She’s not that kind of person. Yanran probably can’t leave now because she’s being surrounded. I’ll send a message to ask what’s going on.”
Indeed, Su Tuantuan messaged Qiao Yanran to ask how she was. Qiao Yanran sent a tearful voice message over the phone. “I think I’ve caused big trouble, Jie Jie. I was photographed, and my manager saw it. She said the screenshots from the fan group have been spread, and lots of paparazzi are waiting outside. I found a place to hide and am waiting for my assistant to pick me up.”
Su Tuantuan thought for a moment, asked Qiao Yanran for her exact location, and then—
She contacted Mo Xian’s work phone number.
After all, Mo Xian’s staff should be present and well-equipped. Asking Mo Xian to send someone to escort Qiao Yanran out was better than leaving Qiao Yanran waiting alone.
Su Tuantuan hesitated before dialing.
But then she realized.
Su Tuantuan, what crazy notion are you entertaining?
The female lead should be with the female lead, shouldn’t she?
