Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha’s Gorgeous Wife Who Keeps Trying to Seduce Me - Chapter 31
The next day’s activities were more relaxed. The plan was to ride bicycles around the island, enjoy the scenery, take some beautiful photos, then head to a campsite at noon to set up tents and have a barbecue.
All the guests were dressed casually. Some wore shorts, others long pants or skirts, paired with T-shirts or light shirts.
Shen Zhixi and Chi Lengzhao wore matching couple’s outfits. Shen wore shorts and a T-shirt, her long legs fair and straight, almost too bright to look at. Chi wore long pants and a T-shirt, making her look even taller and leaner.
Just before setting off, when everyone saw the mountain bikes provided by the crew, several of them were stunned.
Zhou Ziqing said, “Wait, these aren’t tandem bikes? I can’t ride. I guess Su Su will have to carry me the whole way.”
Lu Manni added, “That’s a long ride. This is going to be exhausting.”
Then the crew brought out three horses.
“If any of you know how to ride, you can choose to ride a horse instead.”
The group immediately cheered and rushed over, eager to try.
Shi Xin, who had some riding experience, quickly mounted a horse. Her posture was upright and confident. With her helmet on, she looked like a handsome prince.
She reached out and helped Lu Manni up, holding her gently in her arms like a cherished princess.
Although they had argued the day before, Shi Xin had apologized after returning to the hotel. Lu Manni wasn’t about to embarrass her in public.
The two of them looked like they had stepped out of a fairy tale— a gallant prince and a beautiful princess riding together.
The group clapped and squealed with excitement. Cameras followed them closely, not missing a moment.
Another couple took the second horse, leaving just one more.
Chi Lengzhao looked over and said, “Ziqing, you and Su Su should take the last one.”
Zhou Ziqing was thrilled. She grabbed the reins and, with some help from the staff, climbed onto the horse.
Su Ci looked worried. “Be careful, Qing Qing. This is your first time riding. Don’t charge off like a warrior with a whip.”
Zhou Ziqing grinned and replied, “Relax. Just go ride your bike. I’m not going to fall.”
Su Ci didn’t argue. She quickly got on a bicycle and followed along.
Lu Meng and Liang Xiaoshu laughed from their bikes.
“Su Su, your princess is on a horse and you’re following her on a bike? What’s that about?”
Su Ci smiled shyly, the way a schoolgirl might. “This time, let me be her knight.”
The others laughed again.
“So you’re not a prince and princess combo, you’re a princess and her knight!”
At this point, only Chi Lengzhao and Shen Zhixi hadn’t moved.
Shen finally said quietly, “I can’t ride a bike… and I’m scared of horses too.”
Chi Lengzhao stayed silent.
Someone joked, “Captain Chi, just carry your wife on your back. You’ll reach the campsite eventually.”
By then, Lu Meng and Liang Xiaoshu had already ridden far ahead. Zhou Ziqing was trotting slowly on her horse, and Su Ci was pedaling along beside her. Chi and Shen were still standing in place.
Shen said, “Why don’t you ride ahead? I can walk and catch up.”
“No way. I’m not leaving you behind.”
Chi looked around and spotted a motorcycle parked under a tree in the distance. It was sleek and modern, definitely cool.
She turned back to Shen with a smile. “Come on, Zhixi. I’ll take you for a ride.”
She contacted the owner and got permission to borrow the bike. After that, she helped Shen put on a helmet, then fastened her own.
Chi, with her tall, lean frame and composed energy, looked striking with the helmet on. She had a sharp, confident aura.
She started the motorcycle. The rumbling engine made Shen a little anxious.
She had only ever ridden in cars. Motorcycles felt risky to her, even a bit scary.
“Hop on. I won’t go too fast.”
Chi turned and smiled. “Just hold on to my waist. Don’t be afraid.”
Shen hesitated, then climbed on and sat behind her.
“Hold on tight!” Chi lowered the visor on her helmet and twisted the throttle. The bike took off with a roar.
Shen gasped and immediately wrapped her arms around Chi’s waist, holding on tightly like her life depended on it.
Chi glanced down at the arms locked around her and smiled before speeding up a little more.
The motorcycle zoomed down the wide, empty coastal road like a wild horse, fast and powerful. In seconds, they had passed Su Ci and Zhou Ziqing.
Zhou Ziqing, still on horseback, blinked in surprise. “Was that… our captain?!”
Ma Yue’s team and Lu Meng’s team were chatting and laughing while riding bicycles, even racing each other.
Then they heard the roar of a motor behind them. All four turned to look, just in time to see two beautiful women racing past on a motorcycle, wind sweeping around them.
Lu Meng’s eyes widened. “Was that Captain Chi?! She can ride a motorcycle?!”
Ma Yue shouted, “That’s not fair! Why do they get to use a motorcycle?!”
Liang Xiaoshu laughed. “It’s not like any of us could ride one anyway! Come on, girls, pedal faster!”
The road was empty except for their group. Occasionally, a car passed by. The breeze blew across their faces, carrying the salty scent of the sea.
Gradually, Shen Zhixi began to feel less afraid. Her arms, which had been tightly wrapped around Chi Lengzhao’s waist, finally loosened a little. She lifted her head and started to enjoy the scenery on both sides of the road.
To one side were mountains, to the other, the sea.
Trees of varying heights lined the rocky shore, and following the stone path led straight to the water. The view was beautiful, perfect for taking pictures. The crew was already waiting at that spot.
This was the designated photo stop for the day.
As soon as the staff saw them arrive, they jumped into action. Cameras clicked nonstop, capturing the moment the two women got off the motorcycle and removed their helmets.
The instant their helmets came off, their long hair spilled out.
In front of the sleek motorcycle, both of them casually flicked their hair, which danced in the wind. Their delicate, striking features instantly drew everyone’s attention—glamorous, sensual, and impossible to ignore.
The director signaled for a more intimate pose on the bike, while the cameraman came over to give specific instructions.
“Miss Chi, place your hand here. A bit lower. Support Miss Shen’s waist. Firmly. Miss Shen, relax your shoulders, lean forward a bit. Tilt your head, just a bit closer… Great. Hold that pose.”
Chi Lengzhao’s entire body tensed. Shen Zhixi was far too close. She could feel Shen’s breath lightly brushing against her neck.
It tickled, but she couldn’t scratch it. And she definitely couldn’t push her away.
Her hand, resting on Shen’s waist, had already started to go numb. Chi tried to keep her posture steady, barely moving at all.
Sensing her tension, Shen Zhixi continued smiling confidently for the camera. While brushing her hair back, she whispered, “Hang in there, we’re almost done.”
“Okay.”
Chi Lengzhao had sharp, striking features and fair skin, which made her photogenic from nearly every angle.
The cameraman, a Beta, couldn’t help but admire her through the lens. This icy, captivating Alpha was the type who could easily make hearts race. He thought to himself, this woman could absolutely shatter an army of Omegas.
“Miss Chi, slowly turn your head to look at Miss Shen. Lower your chin slightly. Good. Now, lock eyes with each other—just like that. Perfect.”
Chi shifted her gaze as instructed and, as expected but still unprepared, met Shen Zhixi’s eyes again. Those eyes sparkled like stars—bright and dazzling. Then they curved slightly with a soft smile.
Chi’s breath caught. Her heart skipped a beat.
She felt like she was falling into a magnetic whirlpool, completely drawn in, unable to escape.
Another breeze swept past them. Their hair floated around them, the tips tangling together and shielding the look they shared.
They were the first to arrive at the campsite. After receiving their tent from the production team, they started setting it up.
Once the tent was done, Chi rolled up her sleeves, lit the charcoal, set up the grill, and began barbecuing.
The crew had prepared a generous variety of food: fish, shrimp, shellfish, marbled beef, pork belly, chicken wings, along with vegetables like corn and mushrooms. There was plenty to choose from.
Shen Zhixi watched with curiosity and offered to help. “Let me do some too.”
Chi didn’t object. She moved her stool over and handed Shen a pair of tongs. “Be careful. Don’t get burned. Hold it farther back.”
“Okay.”
The shrimp and beef sizzled loudly on the grill. Smoke curled up from the charcoal, and Shen Zhixi blinked against the irritation. She coughed twice and waved the smoke away.
“Come sit over here. The wind’s better on this side,” Chi offered, swapping seats with her.
“But won’t you get all the smoke now?”
Chi grinned. “It’s fine. My skin’s thick. I can take it.”
Shen Zhixi laughed, watching Chi flip the food efficiently. She mimicked her, trying to lift a slice of pork belly.
She looked genuinely happy, a childlike excitement lighting up her face.
Chi asked, “You’ve never had barbecue before?”
Shen looked puzzled, so Chi explained, “You know, those little open-air stands at night. A few tables on the sidewalk, and the owner grills meat, chives, everything. Then they bring it to your table. You eat it with beer, hanging out with friends.”
Shen shook her head. “No. My mom never let me eat street food. I only saw my classmates try it.”
Chi nodded. “She wasn’t wrong. Eating too much of that stuff can cause cancer.”
Shen Zhixi stared at her in silence.
Chi continued, “Have you at least been to a barbecue restaurant? The kind in shopping malls, with all the meats? You can grill it yourself or have the staff do it for you.” She gestured as she spoke. “Each table has a smoke vent above it, so you don’t get choked by the smoke. When it’s ready, you dip the meat in sauce, wrap it in lettuce, and eat it all in one bite.”
Shen shook her head again.
“Then let’s go sometime. I know a great place.”
“Okay.” Shen smiled softly, looking forward to it. Then she asked, “But… will that kind of barbecue give you cancer too?”
Chi blinked, momentarily caught off guard. “No. I’ll grill for you. Besides, once in a while is fine. Your immune system is strong enough to handle it.”
Even though Shen felt like Chi might be making that up, she couldn’t help smiling.
In both her past life and her current one, she had never really eaten barbecue. Meals were always formal—at home or in upscale restaurants.
Even during filming, her meals were carefully prepared by the hotel based on a nutritionist’s plan, then delivered by her assistant.
She had never tried the kind of grilled food you wrap in lettuce or the casual atmosphere of sitting outside at a street-side stand.
Going with Chi Lengzhao sounded like it would be fun.
Shen looked up at her with bright eyes and asked sincerely, “Can we go try barbecue together too? The kind with little tables on the street?”
Chi paused for a second, then smiled. “Sure.”
The first batch of beef was ready. Chi quickly cut it into strips with scissors, grilled it a little longer, then placed a few pieces on Shen’s plate.
Shen picked up her chopsticks, ready to eat, but Chi quickly stopped her. “It’s hot. Wait a moment. Have a drink first.”
The drinks provided included beer, juice, sparkling wine, and lemon water.
Shen picked up a bottle of lemon water, twisted the cap off, and took a sip.
Chi turned back to the grill, checking the pork belly and shrimp. When she glanced over her shoulder, she saw Shen still holding her plate, looking at her. She hadn’t taken a bite.
Chi smiled. “Why aren’t you eating? Don’t like beef? It’s very tender, I promise. Try just a small bite.”
“I was waiting for you to say it’s okay to eat,” Shen replied quietly, her voice soft like a kitten’s. She sounded so sweet and obedient.
Chi chuckled. “You can eat now. Try dipping it in the sauce. It tastes even better.”
She picked up a piece herself, dipped it into the small dish of sauce, and popped it into her mouth.
Shen Zhixi noticed Chi Lengzhao’s cheeks puff up slightly as she chewed, making the food look even more delicious.
Unable to resist, Shen copied her and took a bite.
“Good, right?” Chi asked.
“It’s really good.”
“This portion is for you. Once you finish, we can move on to the grilled shrimp.”
But Shen shook her head and pushed the plate toward Chi. “Let’s share it.”
Chi misunderstood and chuckled. “There’s plenty more. You don’t have to worry about running out.”
“No,” Shen replied seriously. “I’m just worried that if I eat all of this, I won’t have room for anything else. Help me eat it.”
Chi was momentarily speechless.
In the end, she became the clean-up crew, finishing everything Shen couldn’t.
Chi deeply regretted grilling one of everything.
Yet Shen, still looking excited, tossed a few more abalone and chicken feet onto the grill. “Zhaozhao, how do we grill abalone? Oh no, the chicken feet are all sticking together. What do I do?”
Chi’s expression shifted dramatically. Inside, she was crying, thinking, please, no more grilling. I’m begging you.
Thankfully, the other teams began to arrive. Chi looked at them like they were her salvation and eagerly called them over to eat.
Shi Xin looked unhappy again. She had been so confident in her romantic horseback-riding setup with Lu Manni. The two of them should have been the most eye-catching couple. But Chi Lengzhao had shown up on a motorcycle and effortlessly stolen the spotlight. It was cool, stylish, and impossible to compete with.
Shi Xin stewed in silent frustration, keeping a stiff face and ignoring everyone.
Lu Manni, hungry and thirsty, was just about to grab a plate of grilled meat when Shi Xin shot her a dark, icy glare.
Lu Manni quickly turned back and put on a bright smile. “Xin, let’s grill together.”
The day before, during the tour guide task, they had argued. Later at the hotel, Shi Xin apologized and promised her an extra five million after the show ended—if she behaved.
“You grill. I’m exhausted from that damn horse.”
Having paid up, Shi Xin felt entitled to some service.
Lu Manni swallowed her irritation. Fine, I’ll tolerate you. Once the show’s done and I get my money, you can get lost. I’m not putting up with this anymore.
She responded sweetly, “Darling, you take a break. I’ll call you when the food’s ready.” She said it in her cutest voice while angrily sprinkling chili powder on the chicken wings, muttering to herself, hope this burns your tongue. Then she found herself missing her ex, who had been much easier to deal with.
After lunch, everyone settled into a peaceful afternoon. The production crew continued to follow the guests during their downtime.
Inside their tent, Liang Xiaoshu massaged her calf. “Honey, my legs are sore.”
“I got you,” Lu Meng said as she quickly set down the fruit she had been cutting, wiped her hands, and sat down in front of her wife. She lifted one of Liang’s legs onto her lap and started massaging it.
The host asked, “Lu Meng, do you do this at home too?”
Lu Meng nodded without hesitation. “Of course. At home, she’s the queen, and I’m just her loyal servant. It’s my job to take care of her and our daughter.”
Leaning comfortably on a beanbag, Liang Xiaoshu smirked. “Oh? Not tired of it yet, my little servant?”
“Never, Your Majesty. I’m an Alpha, built for endurance. Of course I handle the chores. No way I’d let an Omega like you do the heavy lifting.”
The host laughed. “A perfect Alpha, so devoted to her wife.”
“I love her attitude,” Liang said, stretching out. “Alright, switch legs now.”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Lu Meng replied playfully.
Nearby, Zhou Ziqing was brushing down her horse and giving it a bath. After her first ride, she had completely fallen in love with horseback riding. Su Ci followed beside her, carrying a bucket of water and moving wherever Zhou needed her.
Their gazes were soft, full of affection, like honey could drip from the air around them.
Other couples were cuddled up in tents, claiming to be taking naps. In reality, they whispered sweet things to each other, snuggled close, and exchanged kisses without actually falling asleep.
The camera cut to Shi Xin’s tent. Her face was red and her lips were swollen. She glared furiously at Lu Manni, who looked utterly innocent.
Lu Manni bit her lip and pouted. “Baby, don’t be mad, okay? I didn’t know you couldn’t handle spicy food. Drink some juice, alright? It’ll go away soon.”
Only one couple wasn’t in a tent or tending to a horse—Chi Lengzhao and Shen Zhixi.
Chi had eaten too much, so she was taking a walk through the trees near the campsite to help digest. Shen walked with her, holding a small umbrella to shade them from the sun.
From across the way, Zhou Ziqing called out, “Captain Chi? You’re still walking after all that? Didn’t the ride tire you out?”
Su Ci added, “She rode a motorcycle. Got there in a flash. Didn’t cost her any energy.”
Zhou grinned and teased, “Miss Shen, why are you shading yourself but not your dear captain? Shouldn’t you be holding the umbrella for her?”
Before Shen Zhixi could respond, Chi Lengzhao had already spoken up.
“No need. The umbrella’s too small anyway. Besides, I have fair skin. I’m not afraid of the sun.”
That got everyone’s attention. Several guests poked their heads out from the tents.
“Miss Chi, that’s the most subtle flex I’ve heard all day!”
“A small umbrella is perfect—head to head, hand in hand!”
“Honestly, I think Miss Shen’s umbrella is still too big. If you two stood a little closer, you could probably fit a third person under it!”
Laughter filled the air.
Chi Lengzhao didn’t say anything else. She simply reached over and took the umbrella handle from Shen Zhixi.
As her fingers brushed the back of Shen’s hand, she felt a soft, cool touch that made her face heat up instantly.
“I’ll hold the umbrella,” she said, trying to sound casual.
Shen Zhixi let go of the handle, a bit flustered herself.
“You must be tired from holding it,” Chi added as she tilted the umbrella slightly more toward Shen, making sure she stayed shaded.
Shen smiled lightly and asked, “So, did you finish picking your wild herbs?”
Chi held up a small bunch in her other hand. “This is the only kind I recognize. I was just picking for fun.”
“I thought you were going full Wang Baochuan,” Shen teased, “living off wild greens for eighteen years.”
Chi raised her eyebrows. “You know that story?”
“When we were filming The Sound of the World, the studio next to us was shooting a remake of Wang Baochuan and Xue Pinggui.”
Chi nodded. “I don’t know the whole story, but surviving eighteen years on wild plants? That’s impressive. Didn’t she ever think about growing her own vegetables? Or maybe weaving fabric to sell? She could’ve earned a little money—at least enough to buy rice or steamed buns.”
Shen bit her lip, trying not to laugh.
Chi raised the handful of herbs with a grin. “You know, a lot of wild greens actually have medicinal uses. They clear heat and detox the body. And she ate them for eighteen years without getting sick? Her digestion must’ve been amazing. Honestly, if she lived today, she’d probably be an Alpha.”
Shen’s shoulders started shaking. She couldn’t hold back anymore.
“If you’re going to laugh, just laugh,” Chi said, amused.
Shen bent over, laughing so hard her stomach hurt. She rested her hand on Chi’s shoulder for support.
“Stop it, stop it, I can’t take it. My stomach hurts from laughing!”
She looked at Chi, still chuckling. The woman standing in front of her had the same features as the Chi Lengzhao she had always known, the same eyes, the same nose, the same mouth.
But underneath, they were completely different people.
The Chi Lengzhao she remembered had always been rigid and serious. Her emotions swung between extremes, but she never joked, and she definitely never made her laugh like this.
As Shen stared into her eyes, the smile slowly faded from her face.
“What’s wrong?” Chi asked, noticing how suddenly quiet she had become.
Shen replied softly, “You’re… an interesting person.”
“Huh?” Chi turned toward her, puzzled.
But by then, Shen had already looked away, her face turned just enough to hide the growing blush at the tips of her ears.
