Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha of a Cold Movie Queen - Chapter 77
Qi Siyu drove silently. Since Gu Qing hadn’t said she wanted to go anywhere else, she nervously headed straight for Lichun Garden.
She was terrified Gu Qing might suddenly speak up and say she wanted to stay somewhere else.
Only when the car pulled into the garage did Qi Siyu finally relax a little.
“Still staying in the same room as before?” she asked casually, though her heart was pounding as she waited for Gu Qing’s answer.
“No, I’ll just stay in the guest room,” Gu Qing replied flatly. As she entered the house, her eyes fell on an umbrella hanging in the entryway. “Has it been raining a lot lately?”
Qi Siyu was still hung up on the word guest room when Gu Qing suddenly asked that unrelated question. She followed Gu Qing’s gaze and saw the umbrella.
In that instant, she thought of the masked woman who kept appearing in Gu Qing’s dreams days ago.
For some reason, her mood lifted unexpectedly. She didn’t dare dig too deeply into why—just quietly indulged in the momentary joy.
“Oh, not really. I just left it there after using it and kind of forgot about it,” Qi Siyu replied with a sheepish laugh.
“This pattern looks just like the one on Liang Siqi’s mask earlier,” Gu Xiaoling said suspiciously as she took the umbrella down. Opening it up, she saw it clearly—it was a custom design. The little cartoon creature on it had three strands of hair forming the letters “LSQ.”
“She gave it to me. She and her friend accidentally bumped into the cab I was in. The driver turned out to be a real piece of work and tried to scam them. I said a few words to help them out, and he ran off. They happened to be heading toward Tianyue Mall, so they gave me a ride.”
“After dinner, it started raining and I bumped into them again. They offered to give me a lift home, but I refused. Liang Siqi insisted on giving me an umbrella—said it was new,” Qi Siyu scratched her head, suddenly feeling guilty. “I didn’t even notice it was a custom one.”
“Quite the string of coincidences,” Gu Qing said blandly, then pulled her suitcase and wheelchair along as she made her way toward the guest room like she’d lived there for years.
“Tch, if I didn’t hear it from you directly, I would think this was some scene from a cheesy idol drama,” Gu Xiaoling muttered sarcastically. “Our big-shot CEO really doesn’t lack romantic entanglements.”
“Pfft, come on. She’s got someone already—stop making stuff up,” Qi Siyu retorted instinctively as they walked inside together.
But then she noticed Gu Qing was heading for that guest room—the one she herself had been using.
Qi Siyu: !!!
“Wait! Don’t—!”
She rushed forward to stop her, but it was too late. Gu Qing had already opened the door.
Qi Siyu had tidied up the living room and master bedroom, but had stuffed all her… collection of Gu Qing’s clothes into the side room.
Those clothes had been marinating daily in her perfume—now all soaked in the scent of red wine and chocolate.
The moment the door opened, the sight of the bundled-up clothes struck Gu Qing’s eyes.
Then the familiar scent hit her nose.
Gu Qing turned her head slightly to look at Qi Siyu, clearly expecting an explanation.
Qi Siyu licked her lips nervously, brain scrambling. “I—I’ve got that… uh… hunger affliction. Yeah, I was starving for it.”
That, of course, explained nothing about the overpowering smell of red wine and chocolate.
Gu Qing silently observed Qi Siyu’s mortified face for a few seconds before closing the door.
Maybe I need a camera, Gu Qing thought. Qi Siyu probably didn’t even realize how ridiculously adorable she looked right now, all red-faced and flustered.
She continued down the hallway to find another guest room, with Qi Siyu trailing her like a lost puppy.
“Why don’t you just take the master bedroom? The others haven’t been cleaned. You’ve been on the road so long—it would be such a pain to tidy up another room.”
“Look, even the door handle’s dusty,” Qi Siyu added hastily as Gu Qing reached for another doorknob.
Gu Qing glanced down at it—it was spotless. Not a speck of dust.
Seeing her hesitate, Qi Siyu pushed harder. “You can stay in the master bedroom. I’ll stay in the side bedroom. It’s about the same size. It’s not that important. We just need to be comfortable, and there won’t be any outsiders.”
The final two words—any outsiders—were so softly spoken that even Qi Siyu herself blushed.
But are friends considered insiders or outsiders? That was a tricky question.
Thankfully, Gu Qing seemed convinced. She turned and headed toward the master bedroom—familiar territory.
The clothes she’d left behind had been taken, but the walk-in closet wasn’t empty. In fact, it was fuller than before.
Alongside her usual styles, there were now cheerful, colorful outfits and cute dresses—even a full row of Lolita dresses.
“Ahem,” Qi Siyu looked anywhere but at her, “I, uh… checked your fan forums. These styles are highly recommended.”
“Okay,” Gu Qing replied calmly, squatting to open her suitcase and begin unpacking.
Okay? Okay what? Okay to keep the clothes? Or okay to… wear them someday?
Qi Siyu probed nervously, “They’re all in your size.”
“Mm, thank you.” Gu Qing stood and handed her a small box. “A local specialty.”
It was palm-sized, pale pink and white, with a spotted bow on the lid.
Qi Siyu’s face lit up. She took it eagerly, clearly wanting to open it immediately, but hesitated out of modesty.
“There’s also some chocolate—for Ms. Su and Jasmine,” Gu Qing added, passing over two more boxes.
Qi Siyu pouted. “Why do they get some and I don’t?”
Gu Qing shot her a glance. “It’s chocolate. You’re allergic.”
“I could still keep it!” Qi Siyu muttered, already plotting to stash a box away for herself.
Su Ningqing wouldn’t like chocolate from Gu Qing anyway… and since they were AO bonded, one gift was enough, right?
Her every thought was written clearly on her face—Qi Siyu never could hide anything.
It was kind of cute.
Gu Qing handed her another box. “No eating it.”
“Heh, I’m not stupid. I’m allergic—I wouldn’t eat it,” Qi Siyu said with a grin.
When Gu Qing went to shower, Qi Siyu left beaming, holding three boxes of chocolate and her precious gift.
Back in her room, she carefully set the chocolates aside and focused on unwrapping the gift.
She gently pulled the bow open—it unraveled into a satin ribbon, which she folded neatly and placed aside. Both ribbon and box were keepsakes now.
When she opened the lid, she instinctively held her breath.
Inside was a perfume bottle shaped like the sun. Its magnetic cap was a sunflower charm that could be worn as a brooch or hairpiece.
Did Gu Qing think she was sunny and adorable—like the sun?
Qi Siyu loved it. She ran her fingers over every ridge of the bottle, reluctant to let go.
After a while, she remembered it was a perfume.
She sprayed a little on her wrist—first came a fresh lemon scent, followed by a hint of medicinal herb, then a complex blend of red wine tartness and lime zest.
It reminded her of the scent left behind after she and Gu Qing’s pheromones had deeply intertwined.
Her cheeks flushed bright pink at the thought.
Unable to stop her racing thoughts, she had to splash cold water on her face to calm down.
Once she settled down, her phone rang—takeout had arrived. She brought the food back just as Gu Qing and Gu Xiaoling emerged in matching comfy pajamas.
It was all so familiar—opening takeout together like nothing had changed. It left Qi Siyu a little dazed.
“Feeling unwell?” Gu Qing’s voice sounded in her ear.
Startled out of her daze, Qi Siyu flinched. “No, no, just… a bit emotional. It’s been nearly twenty days.”
“Well, that’s on you,” Gu Xiaoling rolled her eyes. “Disappearing without a word—what kind of Alpha behavior is that? Do you know how upset Gu-jie was those days?”
Qi Siyu was ready to argue, but at that last line, all she felt was guilt and fear. “Why didn’t you tell me? Sure, Gu Qing’s mom sent all those bodyguards to kick me out—but if she needed me, I could’ve sneaked back in!”
She’d gotten pretty good at sneaking around by now—with the system’s help, she could be a pro.
“Are you feeling bad now?” she asked softly, eyes full of worry as she looked at Gu Qing.
Gu Qing shook her head. “Xiaoling’s exaggerating. If I really needed you, I would’ve called.”
But Qi Siyu knew Gu Qing’s habit of enduring everything alone. She regretted not doing more back then.
“Let’s eat,” Gu Qing said, cutting off Qi Siyu’s spiral. “Xiaoling, don’t do that again.”
Gu Xiaoling pouted but nodded. “Got it.”
She just wanted Qi Siyu to feel a little guilty—even if she knew it wasn’t her fault, her loyalty to Gu Qing came first.
A piece of sweet and sour pork appeared in Qi Siyu’s bowl. She looked up and saw Gu Qing retracting her chopsticks.
That hand—slim, fair, with elegantly tapered fingers—always curled its pinky up out of habit, even when clinging to her during passionate moments.
The marks she left on Qi Siyu’s back were always just eight.
Realizing where her thoughts were going, Qi Siyu quickly stuffed the pork in her mouth to hide her blush. “Thanks. Let’s eat—I’m starving.”
But throughout the meal, every time she looked at Gu Qing, memories stirred.
She was constantly zoning out.
Gu Qing noticed, and began to worry. Was something wrong with Qi Siyu’s body? Was her soul rejecting it? Or was some higher force punishing her?
Smart as she was, Gu Qing had figured out by now that Qi Siyu’s constant hand-holding seemed like a task—especially with how she always insisted on set durations, never even trying to hide it.
What if going so long without physical contact had side effects?
A wave of helplessness swept over her. Gu Qing didn’t know what Qi Siyu’s true purpose was. Good or bad—she couldn’t tell.
She knew she should just observe and wait—but she couldn’t always stay calm.
When it was finally time for bed, Qi Siyu retreated swiftly to her room.
With her mind full of inappropriate thoughts, she didn’t dare try sneaking in tonight. What if her instincts took over?
She lay awake until 1 a.m.
Gu Qing, still awake and waiting, finally opened her eyes and got out of bed.
