Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha of a Cold Movie Queen - Chapter 52
The birthday banquet was held at a villa in the mountains. Qi Siyu brought Gu Qing along to present a gift and her well-wishes to her eldest aunt before heading into the reception area.
These kinds of banquets were always social occasions, and the moment she entered, several familiar faces surrounded Qi Siyu.
She had always been smooth in social settings. As a director, pitching grand visions to investors was part of her job.
If you couldn’t talk the talk, how were you supposed to secure funding?
Lighthearted piano music played in the background. Gu Qing watched silently as Qi Siyu navigated the crowd with ease, engaging everyone in relaxed conversation.
When Gu Qing snapped out of her thoughts, she found herself being led by Qi Siyu to a corner of the reception hall.
“Finally greeted everyone that needed greeting,” Qi Siyu said as she loosened her tie and plopped down onto the sofa.
The emergency prep work she’d crammed in on the way here hadn’t gone to waste—she’d memorized everyone the assistant had listed.
“Tired?” Gu Qing asked.
Qi Siyu perked up at once. Gu Qing was actually showing concern for her now?
But realizing she was getting too excited, she slouched back down, whining, “Tired. Exhausted. I want cake.”
Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Gu Qing and playfully acted spoiled.
The look in her eyes felt scorching. Gu Qing lowered her gaze to block out the heat and wheeled herself toward the dessert table to get some cake.
The dessert table wasn’t far, and Qi Siyu kept her eyes fixed on Gu Qing’s back. Gu Qing was being so nice that it made Qi Siyu feel something was off. Could just those few days together have erased all her resentment?
Yet, she couldn’t think of any other explanation.
Wait—was Gu Qing trying to end her? Like giving someone a lavish final meal before sending them off?
That couldn’t be. The original Gu Qing had died miserably, but the current Gu Qing didn’t have the capability to pull off a perfect crime.
Qi Siyu spooked herself into being more cautious.
When Gu Qing returned with the cake, Qi Siyu didn’t even complain about the pineapple filling she hated.
“Don’t like it?” Gu Qing immediately noticed. “Then leave it. The other one’s strawberry.”
“I’ll eat both,” Qi Siyu shoved the pineapple one in her mouth. “I don’t like the filling, but since you brought it, of course I’ll eat it, hehe.”
That moment made her puff up with pride again. Whatever Gu Qing’s intentions were, she’d enjoy the ride. No need to be paranoid.
After resting in the corner for a while, a waiter came by to lead them to their seats.
Once seated and the dishes began arriving, Gao Lanyi—Qi Siyu’s birth mother—finally came rushing over.
Slightly out of breath, she apologized to both Qi Siyu and Gu Qing. “Sorry, something came up at the office and I had to handle it.”
Her outfit was carefully chosen, but her hair was undone and only her eye makeup was applied—she clearly came in a rush.
“No worries. Did you get everything sorted?” Qi Siyu asked. Despite her decision yesterday to treat this woman as just the original host’s mother, she still felt a strange warmth looking at that familiar face. It made her uncomfortable.
She shifted in her seat uneasily.
“Yes, everything’s been arranged.” Gao Lanyi turned to Gu Qing with a gentle smile. “Hello, I’m Siyu’s mother.”
“Hello. I’m Gu Qing. Gu as in ‘care’, Qing as in ‘emotion.’” Gu Qing, though cold by nature, understood etiquette and respect.
Gao Lanyi chatted with her for a bit before asking how Qi Siyu had replied to her Thirteenth Aunt’s request. Qi Siyu gave an honest answer and added a comforting remark about human potential being limitless.
“No wonder I heard she has been contacting the zoo—wants to hire some wild animals for training partners,” Gao Lanyi chuckled.
Qi Siyu laughed as well. The mother-daughter pair seemed harmonious.
They chatted briefly until the birthday celebrant took the stage for a speech. All three stopped talking and looked toward the center, applauding politely now and then.
Once the speech ended, Qi Siyu’s attention returned to Gu Qing and Gao Lanyi. She didn’t know what Gao Lanyi’s real intention for meeting Gu Qing was.
So far, though, things seemed peaceful.
“I’m going to the restroom,” Qi Siyu said after observing for a bit. Gu Qing had been refilling her juice non-stop, and every time Qi Siyu saw her full glass, she instinctively drank it empty again—now she couldn’t hold it anymore.
“Alright,” Gu Qing and Gao Lanyi responded simultaneously, both watching her leave.
Once Qi Siyu was out of sight, Gu Qing turned to Gao Lanyi.
Gao Lanyi returned a smile, but her eyes weren’t as warm as before.
Their real conversation began.
Meanwhile, Qi Siyu picked up her pace the moment she left the hall. Sitting had been fine, but once she stood up, the urge hit her like a wave.
She rushed into the restroom area, made sure she was entering the female-A section, and dashed in.
After handling her urgent need, she washed her hands and prepared to leave.
Bathrooms were notorious in horror movies—and apparently in modern dramas, too.
She suddenly heard cries of “No! Please don’t!” coming from a nearby room. Qi Siyu frowned. This didn’t make sense. The area was bustling with guests, and it was just three minutes from the main hall. Someone could walk in at any moment. Who would dare try something here?
While mentally ranting, she moved fast. She messaged Gao Lanyi to call for help, turned on her phone camera, grabbed a mop from the utility room, and headed toward the source of the noise.
Oh—no entry. The door was locked.
Qi Siyu kicked it open.
Inside, an Alpha was in the act, and an Omega with a torn blouse looked up in shock. They both stared at Qi Siyu, stunned.
“Do you know who I am?!” the Alpha roared in rage, drunk on lust.
Next second, the mop slammed right into her face.
The mop was wet and smelled terrible. Who knew what the janitor had used it for?
The Omega was none other than Sun Yingying. Upon seeing Qi Siyu, her eyes lit up as she weakly curled up, tearfully calling for help.
Qi Siyu cursed under her breath. Just her luck to play the hero for this one.
She’d been too busy lately to deal with Sun Yingying, but the investigation was already done. That snake had definitely drugged her—and through her, Qi Siyu had uncovered an illegal supplier behind the drugs.
Well, she was here now.
Qi Siyu swung the mop like a warrior, beating the Alpha until she couldn’t even crawl.
Sun Yingying nearly broke character while crying. The mop water kept splashing onto her no matter where she moved.
Back at the table, Gao Lanyi and Gu Qing were having a smooth conversation—until Gao Lanyi got Qi Siyu’s message.
She stood immediately, hesitated, then brought Gu Qing along in her wheelchair.
She also called her niece—the birthday girl—who had organized the event. Once informed of the situation, the niece immediately called security.
They all hurried to the restroom.
By the time they arrived, the Alpha was curled on the floor, covering his head and cursing. Qi Siyu stood tall, mop in hand.
“Jie! Jie! Save me!” the Alpha cried out to Gao Lanyi’s niece.
The niece frowned so deeply it looked like she could crush a mosquito between her brows. She had half a mind to hit her sister, but the sight of the filthy mop draped over her made her hesitate—she didn’t want to dirty herself. “Second Aunt, this is Xiao Meng. She just got back from abroad. She’s a total troublemaker. My stepmother never taught her any manners, and now she’s humiliating our whole family.”
“Clean it up. Don’t let it leak out,” Gao Lanyi said coldly. “We don’t need scandal on a happy day. Good thing Xiao Yi found them.”
“Of course. I’ll have them taken away immediately,” her niece responded.
Qi Simeng was stunned—gone was her earlier arrogance.
Sun Yingying, however, kicked up a fuss, crying, “No! You can’t take me away! I’m the victim!”
“Pah! Don’t listen to this slut! She seduced me first, took my gifts and then played hard to get!” Qi Simeng shouted, trying to deflect blame. She’d stationed people outside, how did anyone get in?
“President Qi! Please help me!” Sun Yingying pleaded with Qi Siyu. “I never seduced her! She forced the gifts on me, wouldn’t let me leave unless I accepted them… Please help me…”
Of course, it was all lies. Sun Yingying had been fishing for rich partners, and Qi Simeng was a backup option—until she found out Qi Simeng was just a spoiled second-gen with no assets. She’d lost interest.
While crying, Sun Yingying discreetly released some pheromones, hoping to entice Qi Siyu. After being drugged a few times, Qi Siyu should have developed some response, right?
“Put away your pheromones. They stink,” Qi Siyu said with a disgusted face.
Sun Yingying looked shattered. What?!
“Mom, Gu Qing, let’s go. Cousin can handle this,” Qi Siyu pushed Gu Qing’s wheelchair and walked away.
Gao Lanyi glanced at Sun Yingying before following.
“Xiao Yi, you know that starlet?” Gao Lanyi’s tone was once again gentle and genuine.
“Yeah. A guest on the same show with Gu Qing. Super annoying,” Qi Siyu replied casually.
“Got it,” Gao Lanyi smiled. “If you’re tired, you can head home.”
Qi Siyu was tired but hadn’t completed her task. “Dad asked me to come, but I haven’t seen him yet.”
“Your dad? He’s in Country G finalizing a deal. Didn’t come back.” Gao Lanyi gently ruffled her hair. “Call him and ask.”
Qi Siyu: ?
“Mom, he tricked me. Aren’t you going to say something?” she complained instinctively. Then she remembered—this was the original host’s mother. But she couldn’t take it back, so she just waited.
“I will,” Gao Lanyi’s smile deepened. “Mom will make him apologize.”
“Thanks, Mom,” Qi Siyu finally felt relaxed enough to head home.
“No need to thank your mom,” Gao Lanyi replied softly. She truly cherished her daughter. It had been a long time since Qi Siyu had acted spoiled with her—she missed it.
Once they left the hotel, Qi Siyu immediately asked, “What did you and Mom talk about? She didn’t give you a hard time, did she?”
Gu Qing shook her head. “Auntie was very kind.”
“So what did you two talk about?” Qi Siyu pressed curiously.
“Just some everyday things.” Gu Qing shared bits and pieces, but not the deeper probing and testing between them.
Her phone vibrated. She and Qi Siyu glanced at it but ignored it.
“As long as there’s no trouble. I don’t need any more drama,” Qi Siyu flopped onto her seat. “Too bad you missed it—I was swinging that mop like a warrior.”
“Mm,” Gu Qing responded.
“No, wait—I recorded it. I was worried about evidence, in case that scumbag turned things around. Didn’t expect those two, though. If I had known, I have walked away.”
Qi Siyu cheerfully opened her phone. “You can’t see my face, but you can see the mop in action.”
“Look—cool, right?”
Gu Qing stared at the screen. “Very. A spear would be even cooler.”
“Aaaaah!” Qi Siyu lit up. “You’ve got great taste! I used to train with spears—red-tassel ones! I even won a championship!”
Gu Qing looked up at her. “You’re amazing.”
But Qi Siyu only knew fencing, skiing, and shooting. So were these false memories imagined by another persona… or was there another explanation?
“Hehe, I’ll show you next time!” Qi Siyu giggled as she opened her shopping app to order a red-tassel spear—and matching clothes and shoes.
If she was going to perform, it had to be the full ensemble.
Unaware, she was acting like a peacock ready to show off.
While Qi Siyu was glued to her phone, Gu Qing checked hers.
She’d added Gao Lanyi as a friend. The message came from Gao Lanyi.
Gu Qing replied with a simple “Okay.” Making sure Sun Yingying wouldn’t survive in this industry wasn’t hard.
But… was that enough to make up for her attempt to drug Qi Siyu?
Her phone buzzed again. This time it was Gao Li, who had sent over a contact card.
“[Sis, this is a specialist in dissociative identity disorder. I’ve already spoken with her—feel free to reach out anytime.]”
Gao Li didn’t ask Gu Qing why she needed this kind of expert. Since Gu Qing clearly didn’t want to explain, she chose not to pry.
“[Got it. Thank you.]”
Gu Qing sent a friend request to the expert. She had finally made up her mind to confirm her suspicions.
—
After Qi Siyu bought the red-tasseled spear, she decided she might as well pick up a matching outfit and shoes.
If she was going to perform, it was only right to go all in—with the full look.
