Transmigrated as the Doomed Scumbag Alpha of the Eldest Princess - Chapter 56
“It’s more than a hundred li from Ling Shang City to here. Your Highness, are you truly looking for Lan Shao’s suppressant medicine?”
“Or do you want me to make it for you instead?”
Jiang Si’s questions left Mowan Ci without a clear answer. She chose not to respond. Instead, she gently raised her hand and brushed away a loose strand of hair from Jiang Si’s ear, then rested her fingers softly against the tip of it.
This wasn’t the first time. Mowan Ci had already noticed that Jiang Si’s ears were extremely sensitive. A light touch made them tremble, a kiss made her shiver, and her ears would flush red as she pulled away.
Now was no different. As Jiang Si turned her head slightly, the tips of her ears were already turning pink.
Mowan Ci smiled faintly. She gently pinched the edge of Jiang Si’s ear, leaned in close, and whispered with a playful tone, “So what does the Marquis intend to do?”
“Are you going to order Doctor Lan to make the medicine, or treat your concubine yourself?”
Her voice was soft and teasing. Jiang Si’s eyes widened just a little. As she turned her head to look at Mowan Ci, her lips brushed gently against her cheek.
There were certain things Jiang Si had already noticed. Mowan Ci had a cold constitution. Her body remained cool year-round, yet she didn’t handle heat very well.
Like now. The cheek Jiang Si kissed felt cool and soft. Even her arms had that same chill. But a fine layer of sweat had already formed on her forehead.
“Being this close, don’t you feel hot?” Jiang Si asked with confusion, missing the mood entirely. Before Mowan Ci could reply, Jiang Si chuckled at herself.
Mowan Ci curved her lips into a soft smile. Wrapping her arms gently around Jiang Si’s neck, she brushed her calf lightly against Jiang Si’s knee in a quiet but suggestive answer.
Jiang Si stopped hesitating. She tilted Mowan Ci’s chin upward and kissed her deeply.
Mowan Ci didn’t react at first. Her hands, still wrapped around Jiang Si’s neck, curled into gentle fists and pressed against her shoulders. Only when she inhaled the familiar amber scent did her body begin to relax.
Still, a small complaint lingered in her heart. Jiang Si was always like this. She would rarely take the lead in moments of intimacy, but once she did, she would go all in as if she wanted to consume her completely.
The kiss was full of warmth and sweetness. The blend of snow lotus and amber was intoxicating. The thin silk robe, though light, had become a distraction.
At some point, the fabric had already slipped to her elbows, and Mowan Ci had ended up sitting on Jiang Si’s lap.
Her breathing had grown shallow, and her face was blushing brightly.
Jiang Si rested her face against Mowan Ci’s neck. With a mischievous smile in her voice, she asked, “I’m better than Lan Shao’s suppressant, aren’t I?”
Mowan Ci leaned her head back slightly and held on to Jiang Si’s shoulders without answering.
She didn’t dare to speak. She knew if she opened her mouth now, Jiang Si would only become even more pleased with herself, and her own face would burn hotter than ever.
After a long moment of intimacy, Jiang Si stopped her questions. She gently lifted Mowan Ci in her arms and carried her to the bed.
By then, the silk robe had already disappeared, thrown aside without a second thought.
Jiang Si wasn’t in much better condition herself. She wore nothing but a simple chest wrap.
Compared to a Kunze, a Qianyuan often seemed less developed. Jiang Si was no exception. She was nothing like Mowan Ci in terms of figure or softness, but she had no hesitation as she pressed closer.
The scent of amber filled the room so richly that it nearly overtook Mowan Ci’s snow lotus fragrance.
In the end, instinct took over.
As Jiang Si kissed the back of Mowan Ci’s neck, she thought to herself that if someone had told her a year ago she would ever take such initiative with anyone, she never would have believed it.
And yet now, time and again, she found herself drawn to Mowan Ci, unable to stop.
Mowan Ci responded without words, but her actions made everything clear. She was willing to be Jiang Si’s personal suppressant.
Later that night, Jiang Si sat up, soaked with sweat, as if she had just climbed out of a pool.
Earlier, it had clearly been Mowan Ci who said she felt too hot. But in the end, Jiang Si was the one who was completely overwhelmed.
“Your Highness, let’s rest for a while,” she said, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Before she could move away, Mowan Ci wrapped her arms around her from behind and whispered teasingly, “The Marquis really couldn’t handle it, could she?”
“Are you not hot?” Jiang Si asked in a muffled voice, clearly frustrated but unable to put it into words.
She knew even if she said more, Mowan Ci would just laugh again.
So, she didn’t wait for an answer. She rolled over and pinned Mowan Ci down onto the bed again.
Looking down into her eyes, Jiang Si asked in a low, serious voice, “Princess, are you provoking me on purpose? Do you want me to mark you?”
When Mowan Ci heard that, the corners of her lips lifted slightly, but the smile quickly disappeared because of what Jiang Si said next.
Jiang Si, leaning above her, asked seriously, “Are you ready to give up on Feng Yao completely?”
Even now, there was still hesitation and mistrust between them. Mowan Ci let out a soft, bitter laugh, then looked straight into Jiang Si’s eyes and asked, “If I still cared about her, then why would I be with you just now?”
“You seem to enjoy asking questions you already know the answers to.”
She turned her gaze away after speaking. Jiang Si stayed where she was, propped on her arms, unmoving.
After a long pause, Mowan Ci spoke again. “You once told me that when everything was over, I could choose someone I truly liked. Does that promise still count?”
“It does.”
“Then let’s wait until everything is settled. Until then, our relationship remains as it is. Will you still be willing to be my suppressant?”
Jiang Si, who was always composed when teasing her, suddenly found herself speechless.
She blinked a few times in surprise. By then, Mowan Ci had already turned her back to her, revealing the back of her neck slightly.
Then Mowan Ci looked over her shoulder and asked in a soft voice, “Do you still want it?”
The faint scent of snow lotus spread through the air and wrapped around Jiang Si like a mist. She couldn’t bring herself to say no.
And when she thought about it, Mowan Ci had marked her once too. This wasn’t one-sided. It was just a matter of giving and receiving.
As Jiang Si’s teeth gently pierced her skin, Mowan Ci trembled, her eyes reddening at the corners.
A strange wave of tenderness rose in Jiang Si’s heart. She brushed her fingers through Mowan Ci’s hair and whispered gently, “Don’t be afraid.”
Then she leaned in and kissed the corner of her eye.
After the arrival of the Princess of Shao Yuan in Huai City, the entire Governor’s residence became even more cautious. By midday, not a single person had dared to knock on the door of Jiang Si’s courtyard.
Only Zhi Miao stood outside with breakfast in hand. She had already changed it several times, worried the meal would go cold before the two inside woke up.
By this time, the breakfast was no longer suitable to serve. So she returned to the kitchen and asked the staff to prepare the dishes that Mowan Ci liked. As for Jiang Si, Zhi Miao didn’t know her preferences, so she simply ordered a second serving of the same meal.
Then she resumed her post outside the courtyard.
Before the two inside had shown themselves, someone else appeared.
It was Su Xun.
“General Su,” Zhi Miao greeted with a small bow. Su Xun had been walking forward with a firm stride but paused when she heard Zhi Miao’s voice.
She glanced to the side, gave a quiet hum of acknowledgment, and continued walking.
Zhi Miao quickly called out to stop her. “General Su, the Marquis and Her Highness haven’t woken up yet.”
Su Xun looked up at the sky. The sun was already high. It was nearly midday, and they still hadn’t come out.
Her surprise was obvious, though she tried to hide it. Zhi Miao noticed anyway and lowered her voice slightly. “The Marquis and Her Highness haven’t seen each other for some time. They must have stayed up late.”
She had her own understanding of what that meant. But after she finished speaking, Su Xun replied casually, “Even during military campaigns, staying up all night is nothing unusual. The Marquis wouldn’t be this fragile.”
Zhi Miao was always sensitive when it came to anything concerning Mowan Ci. She could read into every word, and this time she thought Su Xun was criticizing her princess. Her voice grew sharper as she asked, “So what you mean is, this is Her Highness’s fault?”
Her temper flared easily. Su Xun looked a little helpless and tried to explain. “I only meant that maybe the Marquis isn’t feeling well. What does that have to do with the princess?”
They were clearly not on the same page. Zhi Miao misunderstood her intentions and now felt slightly embarrassed. She lowered her head and stayed silent.
Still, her thoughts drifted to the rumors she had heard while at the Marquis’s residence.
General Su Xun was said to be intelligent and fierce on the battlefield, but when it came to relationships, she was completely clueless. She had once been confessed to in public and responded by ordering the kunze to stand on top of the city wall as punishment.
When others in the military asked her why she didn’t give a proper punishment, Su Xun explained that kunze were more delicate than Qianyuan and couldn’t handle physical discipline, so standing watch was the only option.
From then on, people started calling her dense as wood.
At this moment, Zhi Miao couldn’t help but agree with that assessment. It felt more accurate than ever.
No one else in the Governor’s residence had dared to come by today. Not even the staff who usually swept the courtyard. Yet Su Xun had shown up without hesitation.
She was slow to realize things, and only now did it seem to dawn on her that something was unusual.
After all, she was already of marrying age. As a Qianyuan, she understood certain matters quite well.
But perhaps because of that, she found herself awkward around Zhi Miao.
Zhi Miao was a kunze, and a very beautiful one. In fact, aside from the princess herself, she was probably the most attractive kunze Su Xun had ever seen in the northern territories.
So every time they met, Su Xun would get nervous for no clear reason.
“I’ll come back later to report,” she said in a rush.
She didn’t give Zhi Miao a chance to respond and quickly turned to leave. Her footsteps, usually calm and steady, were uneven now. When Zhi Miao looked up, she noticed a faint blush on Su Xun’s cheeks. It was so out of place that she couldn’t help but let out a quiet laugh.
Su Xun had sharp hearing. When she heard the sound, she paused briefly, adjusted her stride, and walked away quickly.
Mowan Ci was woken by the sound of Zhi Miao’s voice. She had grown used to her maid’s calls over time and recognized the voice instantly, even through sleep.
As she woke, flashes of the night before passed through her mind like fragments of a dream. But she quickly realized it hadn’t been Zhi Miao calling her last night.
It had been Jiang Si.
She sat up, only to find the space beside her empty. Disappointment stirred in her chest.
She thought Jiang Si had already left.
But when she turned her head, she saw Jiang Si still there, sitting at the desk reading a book on military strategy.
Without looking up, Jiang Si asked, “You’re awake?”
She was still wearing her inner garments, clearly having not left the room. There were no signs of food on the table either.
Mowan Ci answered softly, then asked, “If you’ve been up so early, why haven’t you eaten?”
“I was waiting for you. If word got out that Her Highness the Princess slept in this late, people would start gossiping behind your back.”
“Better for us to be the same. That way, no one would dare to say a word.”
Jiang Si’s reply made Mowan Ci pause for a moment.
A dull ache at the back of her neck reminded her of what had happened the night before. She worried that Jiang Si’s thoughtfulness was merely a reaction to the temporary mark she had given her.
She lowered her head and smiled at herself. Perhaps she just didn’t want to admit that Jiang Si had always been this kind of person.
Sometimes she did think ahead for her, like when she noticed Mowan Ci had been poisoned, and again during the seven-day agreement.
It was as if avoiding emotional entanglement was the unspoken rule between them. Yet outside of that, Jiang Si had given her nearly everything she could.
“Aren’t you hungry, Marquis?”
“I am. That’s why I was waiting for you to wake so we could eat together,” Jiang Si said casually. She put down the military strategy book and walked over to the next room to retrieve Mowan Ci’s clothes.
Mowan Ci had only pulled the blanket up to her shoulders. Nothing improper was exposed, yet Jiang Si still turned her head away and asked, “With no one here to help you dress, can you manage on your own?”
Mowan Ci wanted to say yes, but seeing how Jiang Si was deliberately avoiding looking at her, she couldn’t resist stirring a little mischief.
It was her first time being temporarily marked, but she had once marked Jiang Si before. She knew how clingy it could make someone, and being a kunze, it was only natural for her to lean on her Qianyuan afterward.
So she let her hand brush lightly against Jiang Si’s arm while placing her skirt there and said in a soft voice, “The back of my neck still hurts.”
“My legs are sore and my waist feels weak. Marquis, would you help your concubine?”
One teasing step at a time, back and forth, sweet and playful.
Let the sugar continue.
