Transmigrated as the Contracted Alpha Who Marked the Film Queen - Chapter 86
“You’re being so good.” Ling Tingyu watched as Lu Xian leaned in closer, smiling as she pressed her lips against hers for a kiss. “Let’s go home. You can give me more kisses there.”
The underground parking lot was dimly lit, with occasional cars passing by, their headlights casting fleeting beams that left her feeling unsettled.
“Alright.” Lu Xian fastened her seatbelt. “Let’s go home.”
As they drove away from the TV station toward home, Lu Xian steered the wheel while Ling Tingyu turned to look at her. “Lu Xian, how about we pick a time to take wedding photos?”
“Wedding photos?” Lu Xian suddenly realized they had never taken any. Back then, Ling Tingyu had only quietly registered their marriage with the original owner no wedding banquet, no photos, nothing. Not even a soul knew they were married.
But in Lu Xian’s eyes now, the fact that the original owner and Ling Tingyu had nothing was actually a good thing.
With a smile, Lu Xian agreed, “Sure, sis. What style do you like? We can go try them out tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?” Ling Tingyu sat up straight. “Actually, there’s no rush. We can wait until you’re free.”
“The crew gave me a few days off. I’m free lately.” Hearing Ling Tingyu mention wedding photos, Lu Xian felt a quiet excitement stir within her.
“That’s perfect.” Ling Tingyu pulled out her phone. “I’ll contact some studios I’ve worked with before. There are a few whose styles I really like.”
“Great, tomorrow we’ll go choose together.” As Lu Xian spoke, the corners of her lips curled up, her face glowing with happiness.
Ling Tingyu couldn’t help but ask, looking at her profile, “Lu Xian, are you really this happy about taking wedding photos with me?”
Without hesitation, Lu Xian replied, “Of course. I was even thinking, should we also hold a wedding banquet? So the whole world knows you’re mine.”
Ling Tingyu laughed at her suggestion. “We don’t need a banquet. The whole world already knows I’m yours.”
“But Lu Xian,” Ling Tingyu gazed at her and asked, “If I said I don’t plan on having a wedding banquet, would you be upset?”
Ling Tingyu had no intention of holding a banquet, mainly because weddings usually required inviting family yet neither of them had much family to speak of.
Lu Xian quickly reassured her, “I wouldn’t be upset, sis. That was just a hypothetical. Honestly, I don’t want a banquet either.”
When she mentioned it earlier, Lu Xian had only wanted to give Ling Tingyu a sense of ceremony. But if Ling Tingyu wasn’t interested, then there was no need.
By the time they got home, Ling Tingyu had received several wedding photoshoot proposals from the studio.
Eagerly, she showed them to Lu Xian. “Lu Xian, which style do you like?”
All the proposals were excellent. Lu Xian skimmed through them and asked, “Which one do you prefer, sis?”
Ling Tingyu nestled against Lu Xian, her fair fingers swiping across the screen before stopping at the last set. “I like this one. Is that okay?”
The final proposal featured a beach theme romantic and perfect for summer.
“It’s beautiful, but sis, it’s already winter. Shooting at the beach would be too cold.” Lu Xian loved the concept too, but she worried Ling Tingyu might catch a chill.
“It’s okay.” Ling Tingyu smiled and said, “When I was filming before, I often had to shoot winter scenes in summer and summer scenes in winter. I’m used to it by now.”
Lu Xian looked at her with heartache: “How could anyone get used to that?”
It was clearly something endured, not something one could ever truly get accustomed to.
“Sister, how about we choose a different style this time?” Lu Xian suggested. “If you feel it’s a pity, we can always shoot the beach theme together when summer comes.”
“Shoot twice?” Ling Tingyu hadn’t considered this option before, but upon reflection, shooting twice would allow them to capture both winter and summer styles.
“Lu Xian, how about this instead?” Ling Tingyu nestled in her arms, tapping Lu Xian’s chin playfully. “Let’s shoot for all four seasons spring, summer, autumn, and winter. How does that sound?”
Lu Xian chuckled, her expression relaxed: “Sister, are you serious about this?”
Ling Tingyu puffed her cheeks: “Why are you laughing?”
“No, I’m just worried you’ll get tired.” Lu Xian imagined that shooting wedding photos wouldn’t be easy doing it four times would surely be exhausting.
The two exchanged a smile, and Ling Tingyu reached out to pinch Lu Xian’s cheek: “Don’t worry about me, okay? I won’t feel tired as long as I’m shooting with you.”
Lu Xian was convinced: “Alright, if that’s what sister wants, I’ll accompany you.”
…
On the day of their wedding photoshoot, light snow began to fall. When they opened the window, the world outside had turned into a hazy white.
Ling Tingyu woke up earlier and stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, stretching lazily. Lu Xian embraced her from behind, arms wrapped around her waist, still half-asleep.
“Lu Xian,” Ling Tingyu leaned into her embrace. “It’s snowing. Today seems even more perfect for our photoshoot.”
“Mmm…” Lu Xian’s voice was still thick with sleep, carrying a slight huskiness. “We still have some time before our appointment. Stay with me a little longer.”
“But I’m not sleepy anymore.” Ling Tingyu turned around to see Lu Xian’s eyes still closed and teased with a smile, “Are you really that tired?”
Lu Xian squinted slightly: “And whose fault is that?”
“…” Ling Tingyu had no retort, it was indeed her who had kept Lu Xian awake the night before.
“Come here.” Lu Xian pulled Ling Tingyu back to bed.
Ling Tingyu found herself tightly held in Lu Xian’s arms, unable to move. Lu Xian murmured drowsily, “Just a little longer.”
“Okay.” Ling Tingyu hugged her back. “I’ll stay with you.”
They slept for another hour until Ling Tingyu’s phone rang. Lu Xian reached for it and answered: “Hello, Sister Luli.”
Hearing Lu Xian’s groggy voice, Luli sounded surprised: “Don’t tell me you’re still in bed.”
Realizing the time, it was already nine, Lu Xian replied, “Sister Luli, we’ll get up right away.” After hanging up, she nudged Ling Tingyu: “Sister, time to wake up. Sister Luli is here to pick us up.”
Ling Tingyu opened her eyes drowsily. She hadn’t been that tired earlier, but the more she slept, the sleepier she became. Now, she let Lu Xian help her up.
“Hurry, sister.” Lu Xian carried her to the bathroom. “Sister Luli is waiting.”
Ling Tingyu laughed softly: “And who was the one who asked me to stay in bed longer?”
Lu Xian reached out and pinched her cheek: “Sister, you’re still holding a grudge?”
“Mmm…” Ling Tingyu tilted her neck back slightly: “You woke me up with that pinch.”
Originally, Lu Xian had planned to make breakfast, but Ling Tingyu was worried about wasting time and suggested going out to eat instead. When they reached the garage, Lu Li handed them two breakfasts from a bag.
“Lu Li, how did you know we hadn’t eaten yet?” Lu Xian took them and unwrapped one for Ling Tingyu.
“I didn’t,” Lu Li said while driving. “Just guessed. You can eat on the way so we can start shooting right when we get to the studio.”
The light snow continued to fall outside, not heavy enough to affect the drive.
The photoshoot theme was set outdoors. When Ling Tingyu stepped into view in a pure white wedding dress, her beauty was breathtaking.
Lu Xian looked up at her, eyes shining: “Wife…”
Ling Tingyu’s winter-style wedding dress had a fluffy white collar that made her look even more radiant. Holding up the hem, she walked over with a smile and asked, “Lu Xian, do I look pretty?”
“You’re gorgeous,” Lu Xian replied, stepping forward to take her hand before leaning in for a kiss.
“Don’t…” Ling Tingyu gently pushed Lu Xian’s chin away.
“…” Lu Xian pouted as her face was nudged aside. “Won’t you let me kiss you?”
“My makeup’s freshly done, what if you smudge it?” Ling Tingyu coaxed softly. “You can kiss me later. The photographer’s waiting outside.”
Just as she finished speaking, the photographer called out, “Are you two ready? We’re starting soon!”
“Almost!” Ling Tingyu tugged Lu Xian into the changing room. “You haven’t changed yet, hurry up.”
The wedding dress Ling Tingyu had picked for Lu Xian was simpler in design, a white suit with a trailing veil at the back.
Once dressed, Lu Xian felt like a different person, her movements awkward. “Wife, do I look okay like this?”
Seeing Lu Xian’s stiff walk, Ling Tingyu couldn’t help but laugh. “Lu Xian, walk properly.”
“Sister…” Lu Xian rarely dressed this way, and Ling Tingyu’s laughter only flustered her more.
Still smiling, Ling Tingyu took her hand. “You look wonderful like this. Come on, the photographer’s waiting.”
“Walk slower, sister,” Lu Xian said as she was led outside.
The snow continued to fall steadily, providing a perfect backdrop for the outdoor shoot, which went smoothly from start to finish.
Even after the session ended, Ling Tingyu lingered in the snow, reluctant to leave.
“It’s snowing harder,” she murmured, holding out her pale palm as flakes landed and melted almost instantly.
Lu Xian draped her coat over Ling Tingyu’s shoulders. “Aren’t you cold?”
“Not at all.” Ling Tingyu turned and noticed Lu Xian had given her the coat, quickly pulling her back inside.
“All done?” Lu Li approached from the lounge area. “If so, I’ll drive you back before the roads get too crowded from the snow.”
Back home, Lu Xian stepped out of the shower ready to sleep when Ling Tingyu curled up beside her. “Lu Xian, don’t you think it’s been getting colder lately?”
“Yeah.” Rubbing her hair, Lu Xian glanced at the AC. “Sister, why’d you turn it off when it’s so cold? I’ll turn it back on.”
“Ah…” Ling Tingyu pressed down on Lu Xian to keep her from moving. “We don’t need the AC. Just hold me, your body warmth is much cozier than any air conditioner.”
Lu Xian finally understood, those previous times the AC had been turned off were all Ling Tingyu’s doing.
“But I’m cold,” Lu Xian pretended, rubbing her icy hands. “What should we do? Can’t we really turn on the AC, sis?”
Ling Tingyu chuckled and took her hands. “I’ll warm them up for you. Every day, if you want.”
“…” Lu Xian pulled her closer by the waist. “What are you thinking, sis?”
After several days of continuous snowfall, Lu Xian and Ling Tingyu had temporarily paused work, staying home together.
Lately, Lu Xian had been waking up later than Ling Tingyu in the mornings and going to bed even later at night. Ling Tingyu hadn’t been joking about keeping her warm.
Just waking up, Lu Xian heard movement in the living room. She walked over to find their wedding photos had been delivered. Ling Tingya, having just seen off the movers, turned and noticed her. “You’re awake.”
“Yeah,” Lu Xian mumbled, still drowsy, as she went to help unpack. “Sis, why didn’t you wake me when you got up?”
Her fingers, gripping the scissors, were red at the knuckles. Ling Tingyu glanced at them. “You’ve been working so hard. I wanted you to sleep a little longer.”
“…Sis,” Lu Xian blushed. “You make it sound like I’m weak or something.”
“Not at all,” Ling Tingyu soothed. “My baby is the strongest.”
Ling Tingyu smiled at her warmly, making Lu Xian’s ears burn as she focused on unpacking. “Sis, where should we hang these photos?”
“The one you just opened can go in the bedroom,” Ling Tingyu said, placing it on the nightstand. “What do you think? Pretty, right?”
In the photo, the two of them smiled blissfully, the snowy backdrop mirroring the winter scene outside.
Lu Xian wrapped an arm around Ling Tingyu’s waist. “Absolutely stunning.”
Ling Tingyu turned and hugged her back. “Lu Xian, let’s take lots and lots of photos together in the future, okay?”
Lu Xian nodded. “Whatever you say, sis.”
“Lu Xian,” Ling Tingyu met her gaze. “I want to be with you forever.”
Lu Xian felt the same. Ever since they’d gotten together, she’d never once thought of leaving only of staying by her side for good.
“Sis.” Lu Xian leaned down to kiss her lips. “We’ll always be together. Never apart.”
