Transmigrated as the Chongxi Wife of a Critically Ill Young Lady - Chapter 63
Chapter 63
Just then, she heard someone knocking on the door outside.
“Miss, Miss?”
It was Yan Shuang. He had received a call from Cen Xia and came up to check on her.
Jiwanching couldn’t scream. Ji Yanqing was also getting closer to her.
Outside, Yan Shuang called, “Miss, your wife is worried about you and asked me to check on you. Are you resting?”
When Jiwanching heard “wife,” the will to live in her bones became even stronger. She kicked her weak legs on the bed a few times, but there was no sound at all.
She glanced at the nightstand. Her phone was turned off by Ji Yanqing and was too far away for her to reach. Her eyes fell on a nearby aromatherapy bottle.
Yan Shuang stopped calling and listened for any movement inside.
Jiwanching gathered all her strength, reached out, hooked the glass bottle, and forcefully threw it on the floor, where it shattered with a crisp sound.
Yan Shuang heard the sound outside.
He called out, “Miss, are you okay?”
When he didn’t hear a response, he put the key in the lock and rushed in.
At that moment, Ji Yanqing was sitting on top of Jiwanching, her hands tightly gripping her neck.
Yan Shuang paused for a second and shouted, “Ji Yanqing, stop!”
Then he rushed over, grabbed her by the hair, and threw her to the floor.
Jiwanching took another breath. In a daze, she saw Yan Shuang’s shadow. She opened her mouth, her lips struggling to form the words, “Shanqing… save it…”
Only then did Yan Shuang notice the dead cat on the floor.
Jiwanching gripped his arm with both hands, her eyes crimson, staring at him.
Ji Yanqing got up from the floor. She smiled as she looked at the cold body of the cat. She raised her high heel and kicked its exposed guts again.
Jiwanching fainted.
Yan Shuang put her head on a pillow, strode over, and slapped Ji Yanqing hard. He cursed, “You lunatic!”
As a man, he shouldn’t have hit a woman, but at that moment, he couldn’t control himself.
Ji Yanqing’s mouth was cut open from the force of the slap, and blood seeped out of her red lips. She licked the sweet and bloody taste with her tongue and felt a sense of extreme pleasure.
Yan Shuang wanted to slap her again, but he held himself back. He clenched and unclenched his hands several times to calm down before taking out his phone and calling Tang Shaoyun.
Tang Shaoyun was in a meeting. When he saw the call from home, he immediately grabbed his phone and walked out of the conference room to answer it.
Yan Shuang’s tone returned to its usual coldness, but it seemed different from before because he didn’t challenge him. He just said a short sentence, “Come quickly, something has happened at home!”
Tang Shaoyun didn’t go back into the conference room. He sent a message to the old man on his way to the garage, saying he was going to handle something and would be back soon. He didn’t say what he was going to handle because he didn’t know what had happened either. Yan Shuang hadn’t revealed anything.
Jiwanching’s injuries were unknown, and he needed to provide immediate medical assistance, but Ji Yanqing was truly crazy and needed to be watched.
The part-time students hadn’t come over recently because of their busy school schedule. Jiwanching didn’t like having strangers in the house, so Cen Xia had let it go and hadn’t hired a nanny. Now, in this large villa, there was no one around to help, and it would take some time for Tang Shaoyun to arrive.
Yan Shuang couldn’t be in two places at once. In the end, he had no other choice. He untied his belt, tied Ji Yanqing’s hands, and dragged her to his room since there was nowhere else to put her. His room was a laboratory with medical facilities comparable to a hospital.
Ji Yanqing was not afraid at all. She just pulled her lips back and laughed excitedly. Yan Shuang threw her onto the bed, went to the lab table, prepared a dose of medicine, drew it into a syringe, and injected it into her body. In less than a minute, Ji Yanqing fainted.
He was still worried, so he prepared another syringe and injected her again.
The medicine had few side effects, but it was enough to make her sleep for four or five hours.
After he was done, he was about to go to Jiwanching’s room to carry her over. In the middle of it, Cen Xia called, anxiously asking, “Dr. Yan, did you check on my sister? Is she okay?”
Yan Shuang paused for a few seconds before he slowly said, “Come quickly. Something has happened to her!”
He hurried to Jiwanching’s room. The phone call remained connected. He heard Cen Xia urging, “Jiang He, a little faster.”
Yan Shuang was a little worried. He said coldly, “Don’t rush. Tang Shaoyun is on his way. We won’t let anything happen to her.”
Jiang He’s car sped through the wind, raising dust. She didn’t offer any comfort; she just drove home as fast as she could.
Cen Xia’s headache had eased a little. She tried to use her mind to call the system, but it didn’t seem to work.
She calmed down and thought. The system had once said that in this world, only Jiwanching could kill her. Her pain had eased, so her life should not be in danger for now…
With this thought, she felt a little comforted.
The journey that usually took two hours was cut in half by Jiang He. An hour later, they arrived at the villa.
Before the car had fully stopped, Cen Xia unbuckled her seatbelt and rushed out of the passenger seat. Her legs were weak, and she couldn’t stand straight. She fell to her knees with a loud thud. Her knees hurt, but she didn’t feel it. She stood up and stumbled towards the room.
Jiang He followed, carrying the sun-protection jacket with the locust inside.
Cen Xia stumbled to the room door. Jiang He hesitated for a moment but still went in.
On the third floor, Jiwanching’s room door was open. There was no one in the room. Shanqing’s body was lying in a corner. Cen Xia’s legs went weak, and she fell to the ground, crawling towards Shanqing with all her might.
“Shanqing, what happened to you?”
“Meow-meow, baby, say something. Tell your sister what happened?”
“Where’s my sister? Where did she go?”
Jiang He came up and was stunned when she saw the scene. She then pulled Cen Xia up. “Cen Xia, calm down. It’s already dead. You need to find Jiwanching quickly!”
Only then did Cen Xia regain some sanity. She took out her phone with trembling hands and called Yan Shuang.
Tang Shaoyun answered. “Madam.”
Cen Xia’s voice was filled with sobs. “Where’s my sister? She’s not in the room. Where did she go?”
Tang Shaoyun said, “She’s on IV fluids. Come to Dr. Yan’s room.”
Cen Xia threw her phone down and ran towards Yan Shuang’s room. Halfway there, she fell down from dizziness.
Jiang He caught up to her and helped her up. “Are you okay?”
With Jiang He’s help, Cen Xia stood up again. She pointed to Yan Shuang’s room. “Wanqing is in there!”
Jiang He supported her and walked quickly towards the room.
Cen Xia was extremely dizzy. The severe dizziness eased a little at the door.
The two of them walked in. She saw Jiwanching on the lab bed, surrounded by medical equipment, with an oxygen mask on her face. She didn’t think about anything else. She broke free from Jiang He’s support and pounced on her. “Sister, Sister, what happened to you?”
She knelt on the floor with her injured knees, holding her hand and calling out, “Sister, wake up. It’s Xiaxia. It’s Xiaxia…”
Jiang He was stunned by the scene, and hot tears rolled down her face.
Jiwanching was in a deep coma, enveloped by the familiar sounds of crying. Her fingers moved, but she couldn’t wake up after several struggles.
There was another sizzle in Cen Xia’s mind. The system’s voice sounded like it had a bad connection.
System… is… recov… recov… recov… ing… Please… wait… wait… wait…
Dr. Yan spoke up. “Don’t cry. She’s out of danger now!”
Cen Xia looked up at him. “What happened?”
Yan Shuang’s gaze swept across the bed.
She followed his gaze and saw Ji Yanqing lying there. She immediately had the answer.
“It was her, wasn’t it?”
When she spoke again, her voice had changed. It was filled with unprecedented hostility. Even a calm person like Yan Shuang felt a chill down his spine. He said, “Cen Xia, calm down!”
Cen Xia’s eyes quickly turned crimson. She let go of Jiwanching’s hand, stood up, and slowly walked towards the bed.
Beep, system recovery complete. The golden finger function has been activated. Please select your strength level.
Cen Xia did not hesitate. “Level 10!”
Level 10 mode is activating. Please wait…
Cen Xia’s steps towards the bed did not stop.
Jiang He sensed that something was wrong with her. She strode over and grabbed one of her hands.
Cen Xia said coldly, “Get out of my way!”
Jiang He shouted to the two people in the room, “She’s out of control! Come and help!”
Yan Shuang and Tang Shaoyun rushed over at the same time.
Tang Shaoyun was still comforting her, “Madam, Miss is fine. Calm down. She’s been waiting for you!”
Cen Xia clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white. Her crimson eyes looked as if they were about to pop out of their sockets. The strength in her hands was also superhuman.
Yan Shuang said, “You two hold her. I’ll go get a needle!”
Jiang He said, “It’s no use. Medicine won’t subdue her!”
She was the only person there who knew about Cen Xia’s true identity.
The next second, Cen Xia broke free from the three of them, jumped onto the bed, reached out her hands, and mercilessly choked Ji Yanqing’s neck.
A terrifying voice echoed through the room, “Anyone who harms her will die!”
Ji Yanqing had been knocked out by Yan Shuang’s needle. She didn’t struggle and lay motionless on the bed like a dead fish.
Cen Xia’s fingers tightened, and there was a snapping sound from Ji Yanqing’s neck. It had been broken.
Just then, someone rushed in from outside.
“Stop!”
It was Xiao Wu. She had been drugged by Ji Yanqing. When she woke up and found that she was gone, she had been looking for a long time and finally located her here.
Cen Xia’s hands paused. She turned her head to look at her.
Xiao Wu shouted, “Let her go!”
Then she rushed over. Cen Xia pursed her lips and smiled. The sound of her cracking her knuckles was crisp. She met Xiao Wu’s attack with disdain. The two of them started fighting in the room.
Xiao Wu was a trained fighter with a high level of strength, but she was subdued in less than a minute.
Cen Xia licked her lips. Her gaze returned to Ji Yanqing on the bed. Then she slowly walked towards her.
Jiang He, Tang Shaoyun, Yan Shuang, and Xiao Wu were all neatly laid out on the floor. At this moment, not a single one of them could stand up.
She walked towards Ji Yanqing one step at a time, a look of a deranged smile on her lips. With only one step left between them, Xiao Wu used all her strength to quickly crawl over and grab one of Cen Xia’s legs with both hands.
Cen Xia stared at her, looking her up and down as if she was appraising her. She then chuckled, used some force on her foot, and kicked her two meters away.
She turned around, her gaze falling back on Ji Yanqing’s neck.
Just then, a weak voice came from the air, “Xiaxia, stop…”
