Transmigrated as the Chongxi Wife of a Critically Ill Young Lady - Chapter 60
Chapter 60
When Jiwanching returned to the company, some of Ji Jinlan’s former subordinates had already arrived. Under the guidance of existing employees Lin Yiran, Zheng Chengchao, and Pan Hao, the former subordinates returned to their original positions.
These people were truly Ji Jinlan’s subordinates. Although they were all over 60, their efficiency was as good as it was back in the day. After they took on their respective roles, each product line immediately had a backbone.
On top of that, some of Ji Jinlan’s former subordinates who had started their own businesses turned from being rivals of the Ji Corporation to its closest partners. With support from both inside and outside the company, the business quickly got back on track.
This allowed her to take some of the burden off her shoulders. It was a perfect arrangement for her to let her mother’s team handle the company. She only had to be responsible for strategizing.
After a brief meeting with her uncles and elders, Jiwanching and Cen Xia returned home.
For the past two or three days, most of their time was spent on the road and in business negotiations. Although the company’s matters were progressing and Ji Jinlan’s case had a favorable outcome, her body was truly at its limit. On the way home, she fainted intermittently many times, but she was surprisingly awake when they entered the house.
Cen Xia held her. Jiwanching had buried her face in Cen Xia’s arms and called out “Shanqing” all the way home. When they entered the house, she heard a few part-time college students coming out to greet them. She stopped talking and closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.
“Sister Cen Xia, you’re finally back. For some reason, Shanqing hasn’t been eating as much as before for the past two days. Every time we go in to clean its litter box, we see it sitting in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking outside. It doesn’t even respond when we try to play with it.”
The girl on duty reported Shanqing’s situation to Cen Xia.
Jiwanching felt a little sad and couldn’t wait to hug her little one.
The girl glanced at Cen Xia’s arms and subconsciously lowered her voice, “Did Sister Wanqing faint again? Is she okay? She looks very uncomfortable.”
Cen Xia smiled and said, “Your Sister Wanqing didn’t faint this time. She’s just shy and embarrassed to say hello to everyone, so she’s pretending to be asleep.”
Jiwanching: “!!!”
The girl said, “Ah,” with an incredulous expression.
Cen Xia lowered her head and kissed her eyes.
Jiwanching’s long eyelashes fluttered.
Cen Xia said, “See? I told you she’s not sleeping, didn’t I?”
Jiwanching: “…”
She was mentally stabbing little people, but her eyes were still tightly closed, showing no signs of waking up.
The few kids glanced at Cen Xia’s face, chuckled, and then scattered, tacitly keeping silent.
Cen Xia carried her upstairs. Shanqing had heard the footsteps from a distance. It was now at the door, scratching at it, meowing anxiously. The sound came through the door crack, with a hint of grievance and urgency.
Jiwanching’s heart melted a little. She wanted to open her eyes but was afraid of being exposed.
Cen Xia kissed her forehead and whispered to her, “Sister, there’s no one around.”
When Jiwanching heard this, she opened her eyes a little and secretly looked around. She found that there was really no one. She suddenly opened her phoenix-like eyes wide and glared at Cen Xia, looking as if she was angry and wanted to argue with her.
Cen Xia smiled cheekily, knowing that her sister wouldn’t scold her in front of others. She looked shameless.
Jiwanching reached out and pinched the skin on Cen Xia’s waist. The force was light, like a tickle.
Cen Xia used her chin to press against Jiwanching’s forehead and apologized softly, “Sister, it’s my fault!”
Jiwanching pursed her lips and smiled, her eyes filled with affection.
Cen Xia pulled her into her arms, lifted her knees to support her body, freed one hand to open the door, and joked, “Sister, hold me tight, or I won’t pick you up if you fall!”
Jiwanching wrapped her arms around Cen Xia’s neck, holding her tightly, afraid of falling.
But in reality, Cen Xia carrying her had become a habit. Since she was as light as a twig, there was no risk of her falling with Cen Xia’s knees supporting her.
As soon as the door opened, Shanqing stood up and wrapped its front paws around Cen Xia’s calves, meowing nonstop.
Cen Xia struggled to move with one person and one cat, afraid of stepping on the little one. She scolded it affectionately, “Go away. I’m holding your sister. What are you getting excited about!”
Jiwanching looked at her angrily, then turned her head and lowered her long arm to stroke Shanqing’s head.
Shanqing let go of Cen Xia’s legs, flopped to the floor, and rolled around, looking up and acting spoiled.
Jiwanching was completely charmed. The corners of her lips curled up and stayed that way.
Cen Xia put her on the sofa. Shanqing jumped up and rubbed against her, purring like a kitten.
Jiwanching hugged it tightly, with both arms wrapped around it. She rested her face against its head and smiled happily, like a child.
Cen Xia, feeling a little jealous, pounced on them and pulled both of them and the cat into her arms. She grumbled, “Sister only likes Shanqing, not me. And Shanqing only likes Sister.”
Jiwanching moved the cat’s head slightly from her neck and offered it to Cen Xia. She imitated Shanqing’s usual tone and meowed. The sound was very soft, like a feather brushing against her heart, slightly numb and untraceable.
Shanqing really missed Jiwanching. It didn’t struggle at all in her arms, just purring nonstop.
Jiwanching kissed its neck and said to it in a stuttering voice, “My… Shanqing, did you… miss your sister?”
Shanqing didn’t answer her. It just used its purring to express its longing for its owner.
Cen Xia was a little jealous, but when she heard Jiwanching talking to Shanqing, her joy ultimately outweighed her jealousy.
Shanqing was held in an awkward position for a minute. It was getting a little uncomfortable and struggled to escape from her arms.
Jiwanching imitated Cen Xia and refused to let go. She stuttered, “Shanqing, you still… haven’t… told… sister.”
Shanqing was extremely uncomfortable and meowed loudly.
Jiwanching let go. Before the cat ran away, she quickly gave its head a rub and turned to look at Cen Xia, smiling proudly, as if to say that Shanqing had responded to her.
Cen Xia deliberately showed a surprised expression.
“Wow, Shanqing listens to you so much, Sister. It doesn’t even listen to me when I talk to it. You’re amazing, Sister!”
Jiwanching’s lips curled up. She graciously accepted the praise, her eyes filled with a clear sense of smugness.
Cen Xia leaned in and gave her cheek a loud kiss.
With Tang Shaoyun at the company and Ji Jinlan’s former team leading the product lines, Jiwanching could now handle most of her work from home. With the extra time, she began her leg therapy.
After not being able to stand for over a year, her leg muscles had atrophied badly. Previously, Yan Shuang had treated her with acupuncture. She was weak and impatient, which almost cost her half her life.
This time, they didn’t dare to use too much force.
After discussing with Cen Xia, Yan Shuang decided to use a motivational therapy method. The so-called motivational therapy meant putting the heavy responsibility on Cen Xia’s shoulders while he reaped the rewards.
Cen Xia was a little dissatisfied. She weakly reasoned with him, “Dr. Yan, even though I don’t know much about medicine, my sister’s legs really have no strength. No matter how much I try to coax her, she might not be able to stand up!”
Yan Shuang nodded, paused for a few seconds, and said in a deep voice, “You can try.”
Cen Xia: “…”
She didn’t say anything and went into the room.
Jiwanching was handling work matters. Cen Xia slowly walked over and hugged her from behind, her face pressed against Jiwanching’s neck. She grumbled, “Sister, Dr. Yan bullied me.”
Jiwanching’s hand, which was typing on the keyboard, paused. She turned around to look at her. Her Xiaxia had never complained to her before. She wouldn’t have complained if she wasn’t being bullied badly.
Cen Xia saw her unusual expression. She deliberately pouted and explained with a look of grievance, “He won’t treat your legs, and he even said that if I kiss you a few times, you’ll be able to stand up. I don’t believe him!”
The serious look on Jiwanching’s face instantly became tender. She reached out and wrapped her arms around Cen Xia’s slender waist. The corners of her lips turned up where Cen Xia couldn’t see. She thought, this unromantic Yan is finally getting it.
Cen Xia took the opportunity to pull her into her arms and complained, “He always tricks me and acts so serious. His face doesn’t even turn red. He’s so bad!”
Jiwanching’s mood inexplicably improved as she listened to Cen Xia badmouthing Yan Shuang.
Cen Xia asked, “Don’t you think he’s too much, Sister?”
Jiwanching looked up, her dark eyes meeting Cen Xia’s. She wanted to side with her, but when she saw those soft lips, she immediately changed her mind.
She pursed her lips and organized her words. “But, Xiaxia’s… kiss, is softer than his… needle. Sister… is afraid… of pain.”
When Cen Xia heard this, her bright eyes looked at her. She asked excitedly, “Really? Then are you willing to accept Xiaxia’s treatment?”
Jiwanching nodded heavily.
Cen Xia lowered her head and immediately kissed her on the mouth. “Then I’ll help you stand up, okay?”
Jiwanching smiled at her and didn’t say yes or no.
Cen Xia asked again, “Okay, Sister?”
She actually knew what Cen Xia was trying to do and was deliberately asking her.
Jiwanching licked her lips with her tongue and mumbled softly, “You only… kissed me… once. It’s… not enough.”
Cen Xia lowered her head again and kissed her lips, using her tongue to pry them open little by little. She forcefully entered, and the wild and passionate kiss came like a storm. Jiwanching moaned and cooperated with her rhythm.
Cen Xia stole her air, sucked the sweet nectar from her mouth, and bit, licked, and tangled her tongue in a messy way. When she finished, Jiwanching’s tongue was numb and her lips were red all around.
Cen Xia leaned in close to Jiwanching’s earlobe. Her red lips brushed against her ear, and her voice was enchanting. “Is that enough, Sister?”
Jiwanching’s face was flushed with embarrassment, but she was still enjoying it very much.
The two of them were intertwined again. After that, Cen Xia carried her to take a bath. The scent of cedarwood mixed with a faint scent of body wash. Jiwanching wore a champagne-colored silk nightgown that outlined her slender and alluring figure.
Cen Xia carried her out of the bathroom. Water droplets dripped from Jiwanching’s hair, making her delicate, white skin look even more radiant. Cen Xia couldn’t resist and lowered her head to kiss her for a while.
Then she set her down to dry her hair. The warm wind blew through her hair. Jiwanching narrowed her eyes and enjoyed it. Her hair was dry in no time. Cen Xia put away the hair dryer, rested her hands on the wheelchair, and begged her to keep her promise.
Jiwanching’s body was still soft. She couldn’t cooperate with the therapy at all. She said in a very small voice, “Xiaxia, I… have no… strength. Can we… do it another day?”
Cen Xia smiled wickedly and said, “No, we can’t. If you have no strength, you have to accept further treatment.”
Jiwanching shook her head in protest. Then, she was scooped up from the chair…
