Transmigrated as the Chongxi Wife of a Critically Ill Young Lady - Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Since Liu Jiming resigned from the Ji Corporation, it seemed he had been purely enjoying life.
Moshan No. 1, as the premier mansion in Moshan, truly lived up to its reputation. When Cen Xia had first transmigrated, she felt that the Ji family’s home was already very luxurious, but in comparison, the Ji family’s home was like a commoner’s house.
The visual car gallery was like a showroom. After they parked, Yan Shuang and the driver waited in the car. Cen Xia carried Jiwanching out of the car, placed her in the wheelchair, and pushed her.
The secretary led the way.
Cen Xia leaned down slightly and whispered into Jiwanching’s ear, “Sister, their house is so magnificent. How much money would it cost to build such a beautiful house?”
Jiwanching smiled. She was thinking that when she got better, if her Xiaxia liked it, she would build her a beautiful villa, too. A showroom was nothing. She would build a fully smart one for her, and she wouldn’t even need to hire people to work. Robots would handle everything.
As she was thinking this, she heard Cen Xia whisper again, “We’ve stepped on their ground and made it dirty. Will they hold us and make us work to pay off the debt?”
Jiwanching was amused. She relaxed her whole body.
The two were led to the reception room. The secretary said, “Miss Ji, please wait for a moment.”
Jiwanching nodded. The secretary went upstairs to inform Mr. Liu.
Cen Xia looked around the room, curiously examining the palace-like building.
Jiwanching saw her unpromising look, and her heart was filled with joy. She whispered a joke, “They’ll… hold… Xiaxia… and make her work… to pay off the debt.”
Cen Xia looked around at the cameras, quickly kissed her on the cheek, and whispered, “Can Sister bear to do that?”
Jiwanching deliberately nodded.
Cen Xia reached her hand to Jiwanching’s waist and tickled her. Jiwanching’s body recoiled. Cen Xia tickled her again. The two of them were twisting and turning in someone else’s reception room.
After a while, Liu Jiming and his secretary came over. Jiwanching spotted them from afar and sat up straight. She sat upright and became a cold, aloof CEO again.
Her features were three-dimensional, and her aura was intimidating. Her phoenix-like eyes were especially deep and bright. Dressed in a pure black long dress, she was elegant and noble, and every move she made exuded a natural air of power.
When Liu Jiming saw her, he was stunned for a moment. His first thought was that she was truly Ji Jinlan’s biological daughter. They looked so similar. He then lowered his posture a little and said, “Miss Ji.”
Jiwanching’s wheelchair faced him. She leaned forward slightly and made a gesture of apology, then raised her hand.
“Uncle Liu, thank you for being willing to see me.”
Liu Jiming was a little confused, but he understood her general meaning. Then he suddenly felt that she and Ji Jinlan were not alike at all.
Ji Jinlan was powerful and would not bow her head to anyone, even when she was in a desperate situation. When they were running the Ji Corporation together, she was so decisive and effective.
But Jiwanching was different. She looked cold on the outside, but she was very tolerant. Her courage and decisiveness were mixed with a hint of weakness. Perhaps it had something to do with her illness.
As Liu Jiming was thinking this, he heard the girl next to her speak.
“Hello, Uncle Liu. I’m Wanqing’s wife, Cen Xia. She’s sick and can’t speak, so I apologize to you on her behalf!”
After saying this, Cen Xia bowed deeply. She was no longer the silly girl who had been looking around. She was now poised and dignified, a perfect complement to Jiwanching’s elegance and nobility.
Liu Jiming was stunned for half a second. He finally understood who gave her that touch of weakness in her courage and decisiveness. Ji Jinlan was alone. She didn’t have someone to spend her life with. Until she fell into the river and died, she only had herself. She had to be strong and independent.
He hated the Ji Corporation, but at the same time, he missed it. He missed the days when everyone worked hard with Ji Jinlan. Ji Teng and Shi Renying’s first target was him because he was the subordinate who supported Ji Jinlan the most.
After Ji Jinlan’s death, Ji Teng took over with Shi Renying. He led the opposition and did not believe that Ji Jinlan’s death was an accident. He incited a group of senior executives to cause trouble. Ji Teng and Shi Renying did not hesitate to sacrifice the entire offline business of the Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi regions just to get him off his position, without any regard for their past relationship.
Later, he started his own business and built the company he had today, which was almost on par with the Ji Corporation. The reason he was willing to see Jiwanching today was because she said she was Ji Jinlan’s daughter.
In fact, it was true. There wasn’t a single trace of Ji Teng in her. It was as if she was born to Ji Jinlan alone.
The two talked for a while. Jiwanching’s thoughts were clear. She had a deep sense of apology, but she was not at all constrained by the crisis. She had her own business plan and offered Mr. Liu concrete benefits that money couldn’t buy.
Liu Jiming admired her very much, just as he had admired Ji Jinlan back then. In a critical moment, he was willing to help her and even formed a long-term partnership with the Ji Corporation.
He saw it as helping her and also fulfilling the regret he had in his heart for so many years.
If Ji Jinlan were still alive, the Ji Corporation could have been a global powerhouse. But she was gone, and most of her team had dispersed. Fortunately, the younger generation was capable. If possible, he wanted to see the day when the Ji Corporation would make a name for itself on the global stage.
He believed that day would come.
After their long talk, he even helped her contact the old executives who had resigned before.
Some of them, like him, started their own businesses and became very successful. Some retired and enjoyed life. Some went to other companies, but they were all more at ease than they were under Ji Teng. They all, however, missed the fulfilling time they had with Ji Jinlan.
Those uncles and elders all responded one by one. Many were willing to step up and help with funding, manpower, business, and so on.
Jiwanching’s original intention was to help her mother get the Ji Corporation back. But at the same time, her mother had already built a network for her. Her old team was now all over the country. They hadn’t been in contact for years, but when they came together, they were a single, tight rope.
They arrived at noon and had a quick lunch in the car while waiting. They were let in after two in the afternoon and talked for about four hours. Jiwanching’s clothes were soaked with sweat, clinging to her thin frame, but she still sat upright.
Liu Jiming saw that her body was exhausted. He invited them to dinner and said the environment in Moshan was nice and they could stay for the night and go back tomorrow morning.
Jiwanching refused. The uncles and elders were all very supportive. They could get back in action with a single phone call from anywhere in the world. She had no reason to stop and no guts to stop.
Liu Jiming personally escorted them to the car gallery. When he saw the complete medical equipment in Jiwanching’s nanny van, his heart ached. He then had his subordinates bring a pile of supplements and give them to them.
Yan Shuang gave her an injection. The group headed home. Jiwanching fainted before they even left the mansion. In her daze, she saw Ji Jinlan.
This time, she was finally facing her head-on. Dressed in a blue suit, she was as cold and powerful as she had been back then. But her eyes held a smile and a hint of tenderness.
Jiwanching looked at her, wanting to speak, but she couldn’t.
Ji Jinlan called out, “Wanqing.” Her voice was the same as it was when she was a child.
Tears immediately rolled down her face.
Ji Jinlan walked over and stroked her hair, saying, “My Wanqing has grown up.”
Jiwanching was still crying. She choked and stuttered, “Mom… Mom, you’re finally… willing… to see… Wanqing… Mom… doesn’t… blame… Wan… Wanqing… anymore.”
Ji Jinlan wiped her tears and tucked the stray hair behind her ear. “You’re my child. How could I blame you? My heart aches for you. You have to be strong. You can’t cry, do you understand?”
She bit her lip and tried hard to hold back her tears.
Ji Jinlan embraced her tightly. Her voice was a little choked up. “The reason I didn’t want to see you was because I was angry. I was angry that you didn’t take care of yourself and let those people abuse you without any bottom line. My precious treasure that I used my life to save, she doesn’t cherish herself!”
Jiwanching reached out and shakily hugged her waist. Her small body trembled in her arms. She groaned in a muffled voice, “Wanqing… was wrong. I’m… sorry, Mom. Wanqing… was wrong.”
Her words were more coherent than before, but her voice was still light and airy.
Ji Jinlan held her tightly. Her body was cold, like a block of ice formed in winter. The coldness made Jiwanching shiver.
Ji Jinlan then let go of her and said, “It’s too cold here. Wanqing, you should go back quickly and take good care of yourself.”
Jiwanching bit her lip and shook her head hard. “No… don’t… go back. Mom… don’t send… Wanqing… away.”
Ji Jinlan said, “Go back quickly. If you freeze, you won’t be able to go back. Mom misses Wanqing, but I want Wanqing to live a healthy and happy life even more. Go back, be a good girl!”
Jiwanching didn’t leave. She looked at her, her face covered in tears.
Ji Jinlan cupped her face, tracing it over and over again, as if to engrave her in her heart. The next second, she used her hands and pushed her on the shoulder.
Jiwanching floated upward. The two of them were getting farther and farther away. She couldn’t see her face clearly. Her outstretched hands couldn’t grab onto anything. She just kept shouting, “Mom… Mom, don’t leave me behind, Mom, don’t leave me behind!”
Because she wanted to stay so badly, she suddenly said many words very coherently. Then, she kicked her legs and woke up from the dream. The first thing she saw was a familiar face.
Her forehead was soaked with sweat. Cen Xia was wiping it with a wet tissue. She knew she had dreamed of Ji Jinlan, and she also heard her say many coherent words.
Jiwanching adjusted to her surroundings. She smiled at Cen Xia and said, “Xiaxia, I… dreamed of… Mom. She… finally… came to… see… me.”
Cen Xia “mhmm”-ed, lowered her head, and kissed her brow bone. She asked, “Did you dream of what Auntie said?”
Jiwanching nodded. After thinking for a moment, crystal clear tears overflowed from the corners of her eyes.
She rolled her throat several times before she spoke softly, “Mom said she never… blamed Wanqing. She was… angry.”
Cen Xia “mhmm”-ed again. “Angry about what?”
Jiwanching was out of breath but she managed to get the words out. “I didn’t… take good care of myself. She was angry!”
Cen Xia said, “Then what did Auntie want you to do?”
Jiwanching thought for a moment and sobbed, “Take good care of… myself, take good care of… Xiaxia, get back… the company, so Mom’s… hard work… isn’t for nothing.”
Cen Xia lowered her head, and her red lips brushed against Jiwanching’s. “Sister has already done so well. Sister is amazing!”
