- Transmigrated As A Beautiful Cannon Fodder Omega To Marry An Evil God Alpha In Place of Another
- Chapter 29 - "You’re bathing? I’m Coming in Now..."
Inside the room, the wooden tub emitted rising steam.
In the corner of the reasonably spacious room, a screen had been used to partition off a space, creating today’s bathing area.
After these days of travel and toil, the temptation of a comfortable soak in hot water was truly irresistible.
Upon entering, Bai Rui had deliberately sent A-Wu out and performed a quick inspection. There were no “strange” things in the room. Even now, thinking back on it made his ears burn with embarrassment due to his lack of “knowledge” on the subject.
Fortunately, nothing had been left out, or Bai Rui figured he would have petrified on the spot.
A sheep-gut condom! To think he had actually asked about it so innocently… he really wanted to delete that memory.
Amidst the hazy mist behind the screen, Bai Rui unbuttoned his shirt, lost in thought.
He let out a soft sigh: “Sigh…”
“I feel like things between me and A-Wu are getting stranger and stranger,” he murmured to himself as he worked the buttons. “I wonder if that’s why Boss Gray misunderstood…”
He knew Boss Gray harbored ill intentions, either after his money or his body. However, because of the Black Pearl docked at the pier and the towering presence of A-Wu, Gray wouldn’t act immediately. In this lawless land, the one with the harder fist had the upper hand.
Staying for one night wasn’t what worried him. It was this “Gambler’s Town” and its famous Werewolf Casino that seemed interesting. There were only seven days left until the night of the full moon when the casino would appear. It seemed he would have to stay here for a few more days.
“I wonder… who is the noble coming secretly on the full moon?”
With a soft shua sound, fabric brushed against skin in the quiet room. From beneath the collar, his shoulders were revealed bit by bit, skin as white and smooth as jade.
Bai Rui kept his eyes downcast, his long lashes damp with steam. He thought to himself. No matter who it is, any noble from the Holy Light Empire is on my blacklist. I should avoid them if possible. Otherwise, if I run into that bunch of ‘maiden family’ kidnappers, my escape will have been for nothing.
Having made up his mind, Bai Rui shed his shirt. The fabric slid down his fair back, revealing lustrous skin. His elegant bone structure shifted beneath his thin skin as he moved, pulling at his beautiful shoulder blades. A youth’s physique is always slender, carrying a touch of innocent greenery.
A faint fragrance quietly leaked out. Bai Rui was completely unaware, he had no idea how charming he looked right now, so fragrant it made one want to “commit a crime.”
“I should check out the pipe shop tomorrow. That Nan Jiu is also someone to keep an eye on…”
Lost in thought, Bai Rui reached a jade-white hand into the hot water to test the temperature. The sensation of the warmth washing over his skin was pure bliss.
“Phew!”
“Finally, I can take a bath.”
He let out a long breath, his nerves slowly relaxing as the hot water soothed him. The gland at the back of his neck began to seep with a delicate fragrance, but he was entirely oblivious, simply grateful for the tub of warm water.
As his black trousers slid down his pale, slender legs, Bai Rui stepped barefoot into the tub. The water level rose, reaching his shoulders and wetting his “wolf-tail” hairstyle. His fair skin turned a faint cherry blossom pink where it met the heat, especially at his joints.
He closed his eyes and leaned against the edge of the tub, feeling lightheaded and drowsy. The gland at his nape seemed to be awakened by the warm current, emitting an even clearer scent.
It wasn’t overpowering, but it smelled wonderful.
This time, even Bai Rui smelled it. He thought to himself, this must be the Omega pheromone, right?
Have I become a true Omega? It doesn’t feel real.
Bai Rui sat up instinctively, his hand reaching back to touch the gland at the base of his neck. Beneath the thin skin, the previously dormant gland seemed to be heating up again under his fingertips.
In truth, Bai Rui had never known what an Omega pheromone was. In his original world, he was a Beta and couldn’t smell pheromones; even the strongest scents were usually attributed to some new perfume brand.
In this world, the identity he inhabited had lost his mother early on. Even though he was an Omega with a defective gland, he didn’t know if he should have pheromones or what they should smell like. In both worlds, he lacked a gentle mother to guide him, and both his fathers were various shades of “scumbag” or negligent.
Therefore, Bai Rui lacked knowledge in this area. He also lacked love.
He had always been able to distinguish between love and lust.
Thinking of this, he lowered his lashes. His eyes, heavy with water mist, reflected a mood as somber as his gaze.
“But now, I have A-Wu…”
His fingers still pressed lightly against the gland. A warm current seemed to be flowing within it. It was different from the time he fell into the dark hold and was triggered by a potent catalyst, this time, while the temperature was high, it wasn’t scalding, nor was it accompanied by that suffocating fever that felt like being tossed into lava.
Is this… the normal state of an Omega?
He still wasn’t sure. He remembered that before being forced into the carriage, his “father,” the King, had ordered an injection of a scent masking agent to temporarily alter his secondary gender characteristics. They said that after a month, once his body adapted, he would develop “pseudo Alpha” pheromones.
It was laughable. A temporary change meant they knew he likely wouldn’t survive long anyway; the disguise was just for show. What a “great” display of paternal love, just not for him.
The dim oil lamp flickered inside its misty glass, casting an ambient glow. Behind the screen, another lamp sat on the windowsill, illuminating Bai Rui’s profile.
As he lowered his head, his neck line lengthened, and the faint traces of his vertebrae became visible beneath his transparently thin skin. Between the bones, a pale vessel seemed to pulse slowly.
The fragrance was emanating from right there.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
Knock, knock, knock.
Three distinct raps echoed in the quiet room like the muffled thunder outside. Startled, Bai Rui submerged himself deeper into the water.
“Who is it?” he asked toward the door, his voice muffled by the steam.
There was silence for a moment. Then, a charming, feminine voice rang out: “Respected Mr. Bai, it’s An-An.”
“I’ve come to bring you the condoms. Or, if you’d like milk for your bath, I can go get that for you too.”
“No need,” Bai Rui replied.
The space outside the door went quiet again. Then, An-An’s voice came through once more, sounding strange as if she were pressing her lips against the door crack.
“Are you sure? Old Gray specifically told me to deliver these. Since I didn’t know your size, I brought one of every kind, small, medium, large. Old Gray uses the smallest, but you… why don’t you open the door and let me help you try them on?”
The words were incredibly suggestive. Helping him “try them on”? This was a blatant proposition.
Bai Rui suppressed the urge to look down into the water at his own “size.” Indeed… he wouldn’t need the smallest one.
Wait! Not the point! The point was that in this bizarre environment, worrying about sizes was absurd.
An-An wouldn’t give up, giggling: “Look, Mr. Bai, I have small, medium, large, and extra-large. Is it for you or your attendant? Your attendant looks like… tee-hee… he’s got quite a size on him~!”
Bai Rui wondered when An-An had been peeking at A-Wu, but she wasn’t wrong. A-Wu really was… quite “packed.”
An-An exclaimed, “Oh! Heavens! I just realized, for your attendant, even this extra-large might be a bit of a struggle.”
Bai Rui stared silently at the door. One hand gripped the edge of the tub, while the other reached for the small wooden table nearby to grab his ram-head dagger. His wet hand gripped the hilt, pulling it close.
Seeing his silence, An-An grew more urgent. “Noble Mr. Bai, please let me in.”
“I admire you so much. I want to hear news from the Metropolitan area of the Holy Light Empire. You’re so well-traveled, you must know so much. Can you tell me? I’m so envious of you.”
“So rich, and with such a large-sized hunk serving you.”
Bai Rui said nothing. He gripped the brass ram head with one hand and the sheath with the other.
“Mr. Bai? Mr. Bai? Why aren’t you speaking?”
An-An’s voice dropped, sounding as if she were peeking through the keyhole. “Why won’t you let me in? I really want to serve you while you try the condoms. The sheep-gut ones are very soft, they won’t hurt you…”
The “tiger and wolf” words continued to drift through the door. Fortunately, the angle of the keyhole didn’t allow a view of this corner. Even in the hot water, Bai Rui felt goosebumps break out all over his body.
Something was very wrong with An-An. The greed he’d seen in her eyes earlier was real, there was no way she was just here to deliver condoms this late at night.
Bai Rui tightened his grip. With a zheng sound, the snow bright blade slid slightly from its scabbard, reflecting a cold, sharp light.
This was the ram-head dagger his “cheap” King father had given him. It was a rare weapon intended for him to assassinate the Witch-Emperor Qi Li. He hadn’t expected the first time it drew steel would be against a common thief peeking through a door.
“Are you asleep?”
Having received no answer to her long monologue, An-An began to ask more boldly: “Noble Mr. Bai, you haven’t fainted in the tub, have you? Oh dear, I’m so worried. Your safety is paramount to me… so, I’m coming in, okay?”
Though she asked, she didn’t hesitate. The moment she finished speaking, her hand was already on the doorknob. The brass handle, carved with intricate European patterns but tarnished by time, began to turn slowly.
A roll of thunder boomed outside, and lightning cast long, stretched shadows across the floor.
Bai Rui’s scalp tingled, he was certain he had locked the door! He had checked the doors and windows strictly before bathing, yet that brass handle was definitely turning…
Thunder rumbled again, and the silhouettes of the rain were projected onto the wooden floor.
“Why won’t you let me in? Does nobody like me? But if I don’t give you the condoms, Old Gray will make it hard for me tonight.”
“Ah, it smells so good~!”
“Dear Mr. Bai, you’re an Omega, aren’t you? I can smell it. It’s so intoxicating. Are you a world rare S-class Omega?”
World rare S-class Omega? Was An-An out of her mind?
Bai Rui’s heart was pounding, but he found the mental space to scoff. He was an Omega with a defective gland, even if that incident made him “develop,” at most he had a faint scent. How could he be S-class? Back home, his B-minus Omega brother was treated like a treasure. Did he suddenly jump to S-class just by transmigrating into a manga?
If the old King knew he was being flattered like this, he’d probably laugh. He was just a royal “defective product.”
“Let me in. I’m an Omega too. Though my scent isn’t as pure and high-class as yours, two Omegas together can be even more exciting. I’ll take good care of you and give you a different experience in life.”
The voice trailed off into a manic giggle.
Rain and thunder intertwined over the damp Gambler’s Town, filling the air with the smell of mud and grass. But inside Bai Rui’s room, a high-class, rich fragrance lingered.
The turning of the doorknob was slow but steady. With a mechanical click, the lock opened.
“Beautiful, lovely Omega Mr. Bai… I’m coming in now, okay?”
