- Training the Villain to Become a Big Sister Obsessed
- Chapter 95 - Wanting Her Life to Be Complete
Rain began to fall within the borders of Qingyun Academy. It was cold on the skin, seeping into the heart thread by thread.
The shock in Lan Shan-jun’s heart upon learning that Xie You had expelled Xie Qing-shuang from Yang Valley was comparable to when the female protagonist first told her that she was reborn.
Although Yang Valley had many disciples, the Valley Master had only taken this one apprentice, dedicating herself to passing on all her unique skills. How could she bear to just cast her away?
“Senior Sister Xie…”
Lan Shan-jun was surrounded by a layer of light cyan spiritual energy, so the raindrops could not touch her. Xie Qing-shuang, kneeling on the ground, was already soaked through. Her long hair was plastered to her face, making her look utterly miserable. Tears, or perhaps rainwater, continually streamed down her face.
Lan Shan-jun half-squatted down, reaching out to brush away the rainwater from the woman’s immediate vicinity.
Xie Qing-shuang’s eyes were faintly red. She stared straight at the tightly shut Cloud Palace doors. She was waiting for her Master to come out; she wanted to fight for one chance for herself.
“Lan Shan, I know my obsession was too deep and I acted against Cang Wu multiple times. I accept my fault and my punishment. Master can punish me however she sees fit, but why expel me from Yang Valley?” Xie Qing-shuang blinked, hot tears rolling down. She tilted her head to look at the person beside her, her eyes filled with confusion and inquiry, like an abandoned child.
Lan Shan-jun moved her lips, unsure what to say. The Valley Master’s decision was too sudden.
“Yang Valley has never had a disciple expelled. I never thought I would be the first,” Xie Qing-shuang laughed softly, as if in self-mockery.
Lan Shan-jun looked at her and said gently: “Senior Sister Xie was troubled by inner demons. The Valley Master must know this. The Valley Master is a reasonable person. She might have another intention for doing this.”
“Another intention…” Xie Qing-shuang murmured. “What matter would absolutely require me to be expelled?”
As her words fell, the doors of the Cloud Palace slowly opened. Grandmaster Xuan walked out, followed by Xie You and Elder Xue, and finally, Jiu Ying and Tan Zhen.
They naturally saw the person kneeling at the foot of the palace steps.
Grandmaster Xuan tilted his head to look at Xie You behind him, a hint of a smile on his lips: “Only one little apprentice. Are you really willing to push her like this?”
Xie You sighed: “If I don’t do this, how can she achieve the Dao? Since you know she is destined for the Dao of Detachment, why do you still let her become endlessly entangled with that woman?”
Elder Xue’s eyes slightly rose. She reached out and tugged Xie You, signaling her to stop talking.
Grandmaster Xuan said, ‘Oh,’ and asked: “Are you blaming me?”
Xie You pursed her lips, raised her hand in salute: “This student would not dare.”
“Both you and I know the path this child must take. Do you want another Chang Feng to appear in the Four Seas, and for the calamity of the past to repeat itself?”
Xie You’s thoughts turned. She lowered her head further: “This student was being thoughtless.”
Chang Feng’s emotional entanglement became both a bond and a tribulation after she achieved immortality. As one also designated for the Dao of Detachment by the Heavenly Dao, if Xie Qing-shuang were to experience bonds of kinship and affection and then sever them before achieving immortality, she would not follow Chang Feng’s path.
Yang Valley was Xie Qing-shuang’s kinship bond; Ming Yu was her emotional bond.
Grandmaster Xuan nodded. His gaze lowered, stopping when he saw Lan Shan-jun, and he murmured softly: “She’s been tainted with killing qi after all.”
He finished speaking, his robe hem fluttered, and he turned to walk towards the other side.
Elder Xue followed behind Grandmaster Xuan, giving Xie You a meaningful glance before leaving.
Jiu Ying was uninterested in the affairs of these cultivators; she only wanted to take Xi’s demonic core back to nurture it carefully.
Tan Zhen had not spoken to Xie You since she regained consciousness. She hesitated, then saw Jiu Ying glaring at her from ahead.
Xie You smiled at her: “Go now. Once the demonic core is separated, Senior Sister will take you home.”
Tan Zhen’s eyes immediately warmed. She nodded and followed Jiu Ying and the others.
Sighing, Xie You slowly walked down the cloud steps, step by step, approaching the kneeling person.
“Master…”
As Xie Qing-shuang began to speak, Xie You interrupted her coldly: “The Feng family and the Jialan Mountain Sect were completely annihilated within two days.”
Xie Qing-shuang and Lan Shan-jun looked up in simultaneous astonishment.
“What have you been doing these past few months?” Xie You’s gaze fell coldly on Xie Qing-shuang. “Do I need to remind you again?”
“Recently, an evil blade appeared in the Four Seas. The Feng family and Jialan Mountain Sect were annihilated by this evil blade.”
Xie Qing-shuang’s face instantly turned pale. Her lips trembled, unable to speak.
She knew exactly what this evil blade was: the Vermillion Bird Blade that Liu Ban-xin had seized from Ming Yu!
“You grew up in Yang Valley. Although your personality is a bit aloof, your conduct is calm and steady, which gave me great peace of mind. When the Jiao Demon entered the valley and you used the heartless fish’s blood against Lan Shan and Cang Wu in the Fog Forest, that was the first time I punished you. I thought you would reflect and awaken, but I never expected…” Xie You’s eyes were full of disappointment.
“Valley Master, Senior Sister Xie was being…” Lan Shan-jun, on the side, wanted to speak up for Xie Qing-shuang.
Xie You raised her hand to stop her from saying anything further. Looking down at Xie Qing-shuang: “I already know about you developing inner demons. Inner demons do affect one’s character. Your inner demon was tied to Cang Wu, but what about Ming Yu? You lost your head when dealing with Ming Yu. Can that also be blamed on inner demons?”
Each word struck her heart. Xie Qing-shuang’s voice was so low it seemed to merge with the sound of the rain: “…No.”
“To be so ignorant of right and wrong, to disregard the Sect’s commands and the lives of your fellow disciples—Yang Valley has no such apprentices, and I have no such disciples.”
With that, she raised her palm. Xie You directly took the Yang Valley jade token hanging from Xie Qing-shuang’s waist and erased the Sun Cloud pattern from her Dharma robe, completely severing her relationship with Yang Valley.
Xie Qing-shuang no longer had the strength to defend herself. She slowly bowed to the person before her, her forehead pressing against the cold ground. Tears mixed with rain, dripping down, and she choked out: “Xie Qing-shuang bows in gratitude here. Thank you for the Sect’s nurture, thank you for Master’s teachings, and thank you for my fellow disciples’ tolerance.”
Xie You’s figure receded further and further. Xie Qing-shuang maintained her bowing posture the entire time.
Lan Shan-jun could not persuade Xie Qing-shuang to rise. After a moment of hesitation, she ran after Xie You.
“Valley Master.”
Xie You’s strained expression relaxed somewhat. She stopped, waiting for Lan Shan-jun’s next words.
In that atmosphere, Lan Shan-jun was more respectful than she had been in Yang Valley. After saluting Xie You, she asked: “Does the Valley Master know the whereabouts of my Master? I have some questions for her, and she hasn’t replied to my messages.”
Xie You’s expression, which had just softened, became serious again: “I left the Valley this time not just for Junior Sister Tan Zhen, but also for the Eastern Lord. Just a few days ago, the Eastern Lord’s soul lantern dimmed.”
“Dimmed?” Lan Shan-jun looked at Xie You, noticed her solemn expression, and quickly asked: “Did something happen to Master?”
Xie You: “I just asked Grandmaster Xuan. She only said that this is the Eastern Lord’s tribulation. If she overcomes it, she can achieve immortality in one swoop. If she fails… I fear…”
Xie You did not finish the rest of her sentence, and Lan Shan-jun understood.
“Did Grandmaster Xuan say where Master is? I… I’ll go protect her.” By the end, Lan Shan-jun’s confidence wavered. With her level of skill, how could she possibly protect the Eastern Lord?
Xie You curled a smile on her lips, reached up, and patted Lan Shan-jun’s forehead, her voice slightly lighter: “You’re such a filial girl. The Eastern Lord didn’t dote on you for nothing. Don’t worry about guarding her. I don’t know where she is right now. During the Eastern Lord’s absence, just look after your Junior Sister.”
Unable to find out the Eastern Lord’s location, Lan Shan-jun thought for a moment and asked about another matter: “Does the Valley Master know about the relationship between my Master and the Azure Dragon Hall Master?”
“Why are you asking that? Aren’t you afraid your Master will hang you up in the sky again when she returns?” Xie You shook her head helplessly. “As for them, it’s just a matter of affection and romance. It’s meaningless, all the arguing they do.”
Xie You walked forward again. Lan Shan-jun followed, asking: “What kind of person is the Azure Dragon Hall Master?”
“Yun Chi, you mean.”
Xie You recalled her old friend, a smile flowing through her eyes. Walking through the unchanging Qingyun Academy of the past hundred years, looking at the surrounding cloud dwellings and steps, she seemed to see those high-spirited youths smiling at her again. The young man walking in the lead held nothing in his hand but made the gesture of drawing a bow and arrow.
“Whoosh—Xing Yuan, I’ve shot you! You’re mine now.”
“Boring.”
“She is a very troublesome person,” Xie You leaned slightly and whispered to Lan Shan-jun. “She causes so much trouble that your Master has absolutely no way to deal with her.”
Lan Shan-jun smiled and asked for more specific details: “Then what is her character like?”
Hearing her question, Xie You’s expression slowly grew serious. She could already sense Lan Shan-jun’s suspicion and probing regarding Yun Chi.
“Why ask that? Have you met her? Although Yun Chi is extremely playful, her character is no worse than your Master’s.”
“Before, when returning from Qingmu City, the Liu family and Chong Yan took orders from a woman to attack us. That person’s aura was very similar to Cang Wu’s, but she harbored a strong killing intent toward Cang Wu,” Lan Shan-jun said vaguely.
Xie You’s brow furrowed: “Killing intent…”
When the Eastern Lord first brought Cang Wu back to Yang Valley, she suspected that this might be the child of Yun Chi and the Eastern Lord. The Eastern Lord tried to hide it, claiming she picked the child up. After learning that Cang Wu possessed the Azure Dragon bloodline, she became even more certain. However, during one conversation, the Eastern Lord darkly denied any relationship with Cang Wu, so she stopped mentioning Cang Wu’s parentage to the Eastern Lord.
But with Cang Wu’s face and the unmistakable Azure Dragon bloodline, she looked exactly like Yun Chi’s child. If she was her child, even if not with the Eastern Lord, she shouldn’t harbor killing intent toward her.
“Could it be that you saw incorrectly?” Xie You asked.
Lan Shan-jun secretly breathed a sigh of relief at Xie You’s attitude. If Yun Chi was not that cold and ruthless in Xie You’s eyes, then the Azure Dragon Hall would not be secretly acting against Cang Wu. Perhaps the matter of Cang Wu being abandoned had other hidden reasons?
Lan Shan-jun selfishly hoped that Cang Wu could receive more love—not just hers, but from friends and family—wanting her life to be complete.
“Maybe I was overthinking it.”
“Don’t worry so much at such a young age. The Liu family bullied you, didn’t they? The Valley Master will retrieve justice for you,” Xie You raised her hand and ruffled Lan Shan-jun’s head. She said: “After I settle your Senior Martial Aunt Tan Zhen, I will go settle accounts with the Liu family. Afterward, I’ll take you and Cang Wu to pay a visit to the Azure Dragon Hall.”
Lan Shan-jun was deeply touched, nearly bursting into tears of gratitude for Xie You.
Xie You smiled and patted her: “Hurry up. Your friends have been waiting for you for a long time.”
Lan Shan-jun looked up and saw several heads pressed together in the clouds, looking their way—Ling Guang, Xiao Jiu, and the others.
“Alright.”
Lan Shan-jun perfunctorily raised her hand as a salute, making Xie You want to pat her harder again.
Looking at Lan Shan-jun’s retreating figure, Xie You sighed deeply, thinking of the disciple she had just expelled from Yang Valley. After nurturing her for so many years, how could she truly bear to do it?
It was simply that her little Yan Zhi was bound by Heaven’s will, destined to suppress the seven emotions and six desires, and to be alone.
She looked up at the sky, her eyelashes moist.
She only had that one disciple.
