- Training the Villain to Become a Big Sister Obsessed
- Chapter 124 - Is the Spirit King the previous life's Cang Wu?!
“This fox’s spiritual intelligence is incomplete, and its leg is broken. If we extract its soul consciousness directly, it might die,” the Lanyan Lord said, looking at the nine-tailed fox crouching on the stone table.
The tails behind the nine-tailed fox waved dramatically. Hearing the Lanyan Lord’s words, it anxiously stamped its forepaws.
They were both part of the fox clan, and naturally, she did not wish to see this small fox, which was barely the size of her own tail, lose its life.
“I will heal it.”
The nine-tailed fox led the small fox aside. Only then did the Lanyan Lord look towards Mo Huaisheng.
“How did she get so badly injured?”
Zhao Chen had examined Mo Huaisheng’s condition and administered some pills to nourish her Qi and calm her spirit. This allowed her restless posture to settle, and her body was no longer so tense.
“Huaisheng… she…” Zhao Chen paused, then spoke in a low voice, “Back on Changze Mountain, the Liu family and Zhong Yan led the Sea Monsters to attack the Snow-Listening Tower. The Snow-Listening Tower… was completely wiped out.”
The Lanyan Lord raised her eyes in shock: “What…!?”
Looking down at the blood-stained Mo Huaisheng, the Lanyan Lord was speechless for a moment. No wonder she was so reckless in her desire to kill Zhong Yan…
“How are her injuries?”
A hint of sadness clouded Zhao Chen’s expression: “Huaisheng has countless large and small injuries. Her internal wounds have reached her meridians, and her Golden Core shows faint cracks. If she recuperates properly and doesn’t use spiritual power, these injuries will heal in a year or two at most. However, she is currently consumed by rage and anxiety, so resting quietly seems impossible.”
“I observed the Qi within her body, and it is in total chaos. In the past few days, she seems to have learned sword skills, blade techniques, and even some staff and spear methods. A chaotic mix of cultivation methods, untaught and unguided, has piled up in her meridians. If she is not careful… I fear it will damage her foundation, making further progress in cultivation difficult.”
“Lanyan, when she wakes up, please try to persuade her.” Zhao Chen pursed her lips. “She… she might listen to you.”
Mo Huaisheng had always been enthusiastic and cheerful towards others, only showing some restraint when facing the Lanyan Lord. Her feelings were not deeply hidden; even the blind Zhao Chen could sense a difference.
The Lanyan Lord sighed and nodded. The shock of the Snow-Listening Tower’s annihilation had not completely faded, and she felt sorrow and concern for Mo Huaisheng.
She walked over and sat down beside Cang Wu, slowly leaning on him and closing her eyes.
She felt a little tired.
Cang Wu saw the faint blue shadows beneath the woman’s eyes and slowly adjusted his posture to make her more comfortable: “Senior Sister, please sleep for a while.”
The Lanyan Lord snuggled deeper into his arms, and her consciousness completely sank.
Her hazy consciousness seemed to drift on a wave of wind. After drifting for an unknown duration, it finally landed.
The Lanyan Lord didn’t want to open her eyes; the feeling of sleeping in the wind was incredibly comfortable, passing through seas of clouds and mountain peaks, free and unrestrained.
But someone seemed to be watching her, forcing her to open her eyes.
The object in front of her should probably not be called a “person.” It looked more like a spirit body with a human shape and limbs, but no facial features.
“What are you?” the Lanyan Lord asked.
The “thing” let out a laugh, and she saw a flicker of surprise in its eyes: “I thought facing you in this form might make you feel closer to me.”
The Lanyan Lord: “…”
No, it’s rather unsettling.
Only when the “humanoid” spirit body slowly dissipated into a defined breeze and circled the Lanyan Lord did she feel somewhat “closer.”
“I am very fortunate that you opened the Primordial Chaos Map, and that the Primordial Chaos Map did not control you.”
The Lanyan Lord frowned. What does that mean?
“You already know that the Primordial Chaos Map is both a divine artifact and an evil object, like the entanglement of black and white in the Taiji symbol. If it acts as a divine artifact, it can revive; if it acts as an evil object, it can devour.”
“Now, the revival and devouring powers of the Primordial Chaos Map are both active, divided between two people. The power of revival is with you; the power of devouring is with the Spirit King.”
The Spirit King (Ling Wang). The Lanyan Lord had heard that name, but shouldn’t the Spirit King be the artifact spirit of the Primordial Chaos Map?
“Who exactly are you?” the Lanyan Lord asked.
“Who I am is not important—a wisp of lone soul wandering these three thousand worlds.” The gentle breeze stopped in front of the Lanyan Lord. “The Primordial Chaos Map’s wickedness is too great. I originally wanted to use the Mirror of Past Lives to destroy the map before Cang Wu became the Spirit King…”
“Wait—!” the Lanyan Lord interrupted her. “You just said, Cang Wu became the Spirit King…?”
Is the Spirit King the previous life’s Cang Wu!?
“Yes.”
“But due to an unforeseen turn of events, you were drawn in. The two worlds separated by the Mirror of Past Lives are no longer the same. Some people no longer commit evil, and it seemed this world would no longer have a Spirit King. Yet, I never expected that the Spirit King, also a divine artifact, could connect with you all through the Primordial Chaos Map. She tore her own divine consciousness and inserted it into the Primordial Chaos Map, foolishly attempting to devour it. When that happens, the inside and outside of the Mirror of Past Lives will merge, and no one will be able to control the Spirit King. She destroyed one Four Seas; she could destroy a second one.”
The Lanyan Lord’s ears were buzzing. She didn’t know what the Mirror of Past Lives was, but from this person’s words, the Spirit King seemed to be finding a way to get here.
Why?
“Lanyan Lord, you are the anomaly in this world. You possess the revival power of the Primordial Chaos Map, and you can change all of this.”
The Lanyan Lord’s throat was dry: “Me? What can I do?”
“Destroy the Primordial Chaos Map. But before that, you must do one thing. The Cang Wu of this world once used the Primordial Chaos Map to devour the spiritual power and cultivation methods of others. The power of devouring will endlessly magnify the desires in a person’s heart, making them bloodthirsty and ruthless. If you don’t want him to become the second Spirit King, take him to the Bagua Array in the Kunlun Ruins and borrow the array from a person designated by the Heavenly Dao to achieve immortality for purification. That array fixes the spiritual energy of the Four Seas and the world; it can remove the devouring power from him.”
“The Primordial Chaos Map is a divine artifact. How can it be destroyed?”
“Divine artifacts counteract each other. One sword strike into the unity can shatter the Primordial Chaos.”
“Lanyan Lord, you must act quickly! If you don’t want the person you love and care about to become a lost soul under the Spirit King’s sword, destroy the Primordial Chaos Map as soon as possible!”
This sentence echoed constantly in her ears. The Lanyan Lord’s hand clenched tightly. Her vision suddenly grew bright, painfully stinging her eyes. She involuntarily turned her head to avoid it. The wind that passed brought a chill to her face, and she realized her face and neck were covered in sweat.
“Did Senior Sister have a nightmare?” Cang Wu carefully used a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from the woman, but the hair at her temples was still damp.
The Lanyan Lord took a couple of gasps, looked at the few gazes directed at them from the cave, and asked in a low voice, “How long did I sleep?”
Cang Wu replied: “No more than the time it takes for one stick of incense to burn.”
“I’m going out for a moment.”
The Lanyan Lord walked out of the cave and went to the stream by the path in the woods. The rippling water reflected the woman’s figure. Her features were excellent, but her chaotic state of mind made her look utterly distressed.
“What’s wrong with you?”
A low voice sounded, containing a vague concern.
The Lanyan Lord suddenly recalled what she had just heard: the Spirit King was the previous life’s Cang Wu.
No wonder she always felt that the artifact spirit’s voice was so much like Cang Wu’s—it was “Cang Wu.”
The Lanyan Lord squatted down, cupped some stream water, and washed her face.
“What’s wrong with you? Speak.” The Spirit King’s voice dropped lower, carrying a hidden command and impatience.
“Senior Sister!” Cang Wu chased after her, and seeing her by the stream, he quickly strode over.
The Lanyan Lord took a deep breath, turned around, and smiled at Cang Wu: “Come here.”
Cang Wu walked over to her, unsure why, and looked at her expression, worriedly asking, “Senior Sister, what’s wrong?”
The Lanyan Lord looked at Cang Wu’s features, unable to imagine that the person in front of her would turn into that murderous demon.
“Why is Senior Sister looking at me like that?” Cang Wu reached out to take the woman’s hand, but she dodged him.
His movement paused, and Cang Wu’s hand hung stiffly in mid-air.
In the next moment, a fragrant embrace rushed towards him. Cang Wu was tightly hugged, and the small doubts and grievances he felt instantly vanished.
“Senior Sister, is it because of the dream just now?”
The Lanyan Lord held him, her eyes looking at the chain-blade between her fingers. The golden threads wrapped around the blade were scorching hot like lava, and the skin next to it visibly turned red.
“Yes, I had a bad dream just now.” The Lanyan Lord answered Cang Wu, tilting her head to rub against his cheek. “Don’t worry, I’m fine.”
Cang Wu gently pushed her away and stared intently into her eyes until they curved into a smile.
“You don’t trust Senior Sister’s words? Then look carefully, is Senior Sister alright?” The Lanyan Lord leaned in close to Cang Wu, allowing him to look.
Cang Wu saw that she was no different than usual and felt slightly relieved: “It’s good that Senior Sister is fine.”
The Lanyan Lord raised her hand, stroked his hair, and asked, “Someone spoke in the Primordial Chaos Map earlier. You said she was called the Spirit King. Do you know who she is?”
Cang Wu’s heart skipped a beat: “I… I don’t know.”
“Is that so.” The Lanyan Lord smiled and did not press the question.
Cang Wu felt subtly uneasy. He looked at his Senior Sister and tentatively asked, “Why is Senior Sister suddenly asking about this?”
Could Senior Sister already know that the Spirit King is…
“Did she say anything to Senior Sister?”
The Lanyan Lord saw the extreme tension he was trying to suppress in his eyes and realized that Cang Wu had known the Spirit King’s identity for a long time.
When did the Spirit King contact Cang Wu? Did the Spirit King deliberately let Cang Wu learn the devouring power of the Primordial Chaos Map?
Cang Wu urgently said: “Senior Sister asked me not to trust her words, so Senior Sister shouldn’t easily believe her either!”
The Lanyan Lord chuckled: “I haven’t. Within the Primordial Chaos Map, she should be a type of artifact spirit. I just thought her voice sounded very similar to yours, so I was curious.”
Cang Wu, however, did not feel the slightest bit relieved. He slowly clenched his hands.
If she was just curious, why would she ask now? Was it the Spirit King? Did the Spirit King tell Senior Sister who she is? Does she want to steal Senior Sister?
A dark red flash crossed the depths of his eyes. Cang Wu looked ruthlessly at the woman’s drooping hand, that beautiful hand whose base of the fingers was now covered in red marks from the heat.
Cang Wu carefully took her hand: “Senior Sister thinks her voice is similar to mine, then Senior Sister… do you like her?”
The last few words were almost bitten out. Even when asking the question aloud, he did not want to hear his Senior Sister like anyone else.
The chain-blade grew even hotter. The Lanyan Lord, unable to bear it, put it away in her Qiankun Pouch. In a flash, she saw Cang Wu lowering his head and affectionately kissing her hand.
Spiritual power covered the injury, and the red marks disappeared at a visible speed.
“Senior Sister.” Cang Wu bit the tip of the woman’s finger, the sharp point of his tooth grinding against the soft flesh of her fingertip.
A slight pain. The Lanyan Lord met his gaze and, upon seeing the hard-to-miss red glow, her breathing hitched.
Normally, when Cang Wu showed his demonic form, his vertical pupils were light blue. Only when his emotions were agitated would the blue deepen a bit. But Cang Wu was not in his demonic form right now, so how could his eyes be turning red?
The Primordial Chaos Map! The Devouring Power!
She covered Cang Wu’s mouth with her hand without hesitation, pushing him against a nearby tree trunk.
“Cang Wu!” the Lanyan Lord hissed.
