Too Late to Regret, She’s Now With the Big Boss - Chapter 94
“Punish me, you must punish me. No matter how you punish me, I won’t object,” Ye Qianqian said with a bright smile.
After all, this man had a face thicker than a city wall. Whatever he wanted, he always got, it was all her fault for being so easily swayed!
“Darling, you said it yourself,” Lu Jingchen’s voice was exceptionally deep and mellow.
“Mm, I keep my word. Let me take a bath first.” As Ye Qianqian spoke, she headed into the bathroom. Seeing this, Lu Jingchen went to bathe in the adjacent room.
When he came out, he saw Ye Qianqian wearing a lace nightgown, her fair skin faintly visible beneath. He couldn’t help but want to pounce on her immediately.
He hadn’t expected Ye Qianqian to be so conscientious about accepting her punishment. In that moment, he felt his heart soften completely.
It was as if it had been filled with soft clouds, content and at ease. She was always so wonderful… so wonderful that it made his heart flutter and soften.
It made him want to linger by her side every day, unwilling to leave.
What he regretted even more was not pursuing Ye Qianqian sooner, making him feel as though the first thirty years of his life had been wasted!
“Darling, tomorrow let’s visit a few attractions in Country Y, alright?” Lu Jingchen asked, holding Ye Qianqian close.
“Mm, alright. Then let’s rest early tonight…” Before Ye Qianqian could finish her sentence, Lu Jingchen covered her mouth with his.
“Darling, you just promised to let me punish you,” Lu Jingchen said in high spirits.
Although she spoke of resting early, her body was honestly cooperating.
He felt he couldn’t hold back any longer, but he still couldn’t resist asking, “Darling, is there anywhere you’d like to go?”
“Husband… whatever you arrange is fine. I’m not familiar with Country Y,” Ye Qianqian panted softly.
Her voice made Lu Jingchen feel as if his soul were trembling. He could no longer restrain himself…
The next day at noon, Ye Qianqian opened her eyes to see a handsome face. “Husband, good morning.”
“Good afternoon, darling. I was just about to wake you for breakfast,” Lu Jingchen said tenderly.
After the couple finished their meal together, they set off by car, accompanied by several other vehicles.
Ye Qianqian and Lu Jingchen sat in the middle car, with two cars in front and several behind.
She noticed that their driver today was an unfamiliar man, with Ding Fan sitting in the passenger seat.
Ye Qianqian teased, “Husband, didn’t you say we were going to see the sights? Are we going as a group?”
“Yes, since it’s your first time here, we should properly reward them,” Lu Jingchen replied with a smile.
He had offended Young Duke Leos yesterday and wasn’t sure if the Leos family would seek revenge.
Originally, he had planned to take Ye Qianqian straight back, but he wanted to demonstrate his ability to protect her.
They visited several attractions without incident until dusk, when they prepared to head home.
Lu Jingchen’s car was leading the way. As they rounded a corner, the driver saw a figure dart quickly from the side.
Instinctively, he swerved sharply, nearly crashing into a large tree not far away. The driver slammed on the brakes and angrily shouted, “Trying to get yourself killed?”
“Darling, be careful. I think that person looks suspicious. Ding Fan, go check it out.”
Lu Jingchen shielded Ye Qianqian’s head with one hand and held her waist with the other as he instructed Ding Fan.
“Mm,” Ding Fan acknowledged and got out of the car.
As soon as Ding Fan stepped out, Lu Jingchen noticed several men in black rushing out from nearby, surrounding their car.
“Sir, they have guns. Please hold onto Madam securely. I’m going to accelerate and break through,” the driver said coldly.
“Darling, close your eyes. Don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you,” Lu Jingchen covered Ye Qianqian’s eyes with his hand.
At that moment, screeching brakes echoed from both in front and behind their car.
The vehicle ahead was attempting to block Lu Jingchen’s path, while the convoy behind was there to protect him.
The car adjacent to Lu Jingchen’s swerved past and crashed directly into the one blocking the way.
Meanwhile, the vehicles behind came to a halt, and several mercenaries emerged from each to rescue Ding Fan.
With a loud bang, the overtaking car collided head-on with the obstructing vehicle, allowing Lu Jingchen’s driver to seize the moment and break through the encirclement.
Just then, gunfire erupted. Ye Qianqian felt one of their tires go flat, but the driver’s skill kept the car moving forward.
Bullets relentlessly pursued them. Although the windows were bulletproof, the sheer intensity of the gunfire caused minor cracks.
While Lu Jingchen returned fire, Ye Qianqian opened her eyes and witnessed a scene straight out of a spy thriller.
“Ah, ah, ah!” The crowd screamed in panic, but the driver remained unfazed.
Though Ye Qianqian knew some martial arts, she had never experienced anything like this.
Seeing her terrified yet silent, Lu Jingchen said with a pained heart, “Darling, don’t be afraid. As long as I’m here, no one can harm you.”
“I’m not scared. Should I crouch under the seat? Honey, just focus on protecting yourself,” Ye Qianqian replied, her voice trembling.
“Crouching would be too uncomfortable. Sit tight and don’t worry, I’ll keep you safe,” Lu Jingchen reassured her gently, his eyes dark and fierce as he scanned outside.
After driving for a while longer, the driver urgently announced, “Sir, you and Madam need to prepare to switch cars.”
Bang, bang, bang! The driver rolled down the window and fired several shots outside.
Soon, another car pulled up alongside theirs, its door already open. In an instant, Lu Jingchen carried Ye Qianqian into the other vehicle.
But he had been shot in the arm, and blood flowed freely. Ye Qianqian cried out in alarm, “Honey, you’re injured!”
Noting that she hadn’t made a sound throughout the entire ordeal but broke down upon seeing him hurt, Lu Jingchen quickly reassured her, “I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt at all.”
As Ye Qianqian prepared to tear a strip from her skirt to bandage his wound, she said, “Let me help you stop the bleeding.”
The driver promptly reminded her, “Madam, there’s a first aid kit in the car, right under your seat.”
Outside, the sky was overcast and pitch black, making it difficult for Ye Qianqian to see clearly even with her eyes open.
After a long silence, Lu Jingchen’s icy voice cut through, “Don’t drive so fast, you’ll frighten Madam. Keep it steady.”
“Honey, I’m not afraid. Let’s hurry home,” Ye Qianqian said, still trembling.
She had noticed a well-equipped medical room in the manor, stocked with no fewer devices than a hospital.
Although she had never actually removed a bullet fragment, she had practiced the procedure during her studies.
“Darling, don’t be afraid. It’s all over now,” Lu Jingchen said, holding Ye Qianqian on his lap.
“Sir, it wasn’t the Leos family, it was another group of desperadoes,” Ding Fan reported, standing bloodied beside the car.
It was unclear whether the blood was his or someone else’s. He added coldly, “You’d better cooperate, or I’ll send you off with a bullet.”
“Whether dead or alive, deliver them all to the doorstep of the Leos family. Tell them these people were exploiting their family’s reputation,” Lu Jingchen commanded coldly.
“Understood,” Ding Fan replied, immediately carrying out the order.
About half an hour later, the group returned to the manor. Ye Qianqian urgently said, “Quick, help Third Master into the medical room.”
