Too Late to Regret, She’s Now With the Big Boss - Chapter 86
“Who is the good person? Is it Ye Qianqian? Since you’re so reluctant to part with her, why didn’t you marry her back then?”
Ye Qingyan asked hysterically, furiously throwing shower gel, shampoo, and everything within reach in the bathroom at Song Yuntao.
Originally, she was so hungry she had no strength left, but when she saw Song Yuntao’s reaction from stunned to foolishly happy after she mentioned divorce, she snapped.
He must be thinking of divorcing her to marry Ye Qianqian. She would never grant him that satisfaction.
Her rage surged like an adrenaline rush, and she grabbed anything she could find, hurling it at Song Yuntao with all her might. “Want a divorce? Over my dead body.”
“You’re insane! Have you lost your mind? You were the one who brought up divorce. You called me cheap. I’ve been standing here without saying a word, and you’re pinning everything on Qianqian. It’s my own fault for being blind before, how did I not see how despicable you are? Yes, I want to divorce you and marry Qianqian. She’s better than you, a thousand times better. We’re getting divorced, no question about it. We’ll go get the divorce certificate tomorrow.”
Song Yuntao’s anger surpassed even Ye Qingyan’s, especially when he saw her twisted, furious face, which sent a chill straight to his heart.
Enraged, he picked up the items she had thrown at him and hurled them back, putting considerable force behind each throw, holding nothing back.
Before he realized he had fallen for Ye Qianqian, he had always thought he was drawn to looks. But after understanding his own feelings, he recognized that he was a sapiophile, no amount of beauty could make up for a lack of intelligence.
Ye Qingyan was, at best, a pretty vase, and worse, a promiscuous one at that, which disgusted him.
Looking closely, Ye Qingyan wasn’t even more beautiful than Ye Qianqian. He had no idea what had clouded his judgment before, making him abandon Qianqian!
The more Song Yuntao thought about it, the more regret consumed him, and the angrier he grew. His attacks became increasingly vicious, and before long, Ye Qingyan was bleeding profusely from her head.
The sounds of their violent struggle upstairs, no matter how loud, couldn’t penetrate through the ceiling to the first floor.
But Ye Qingyan, terrified of dying from her injuries, scrambled out of the bedroom in a disheveled state and tumbled down the stairs. “Help! Somebody help me!”
“Doctor, call a doctor quickly! The young mistress has fallen and her head is bleeding badly!” a cleaning maid shouted urgently.
“Yuntao, you two were fine before you left. What happened? Why are you fighting again?” Old Master Song angrily struck the table with his cane. He hadn’t been able to eat peacefully all day, worrying about the couple and fearing they might act impulsively and offend Third Master Lu on behalf of the Song family.
If things escalated beyond repair, he would have no face to meet the Song ancestors in the afterlife.
He had waited anxiously for his eldest son and daughter-in-law to return from the Ye family, finally able to relax and eat. But before he could finish his meal, he saw his eldest grandson’s wife, covered in blood, rolling down the stairs.
“Yuntao, since you’re so unruly, starting tomorrow, you are not to go to the company. Stay home and reflect on your actions.”
“Grandfather, she attacked me first! She’s gone mad! Dad, please, my marriage is already a disaster, are you going to take away my job too?”
Song Yuntao clutched helplessly at his father’s sleeve. “Dad, please give me a chance. I’ll work hard from now on, I promise.”
His grandfather looked as if he wanted to skin him alive, so he didn’t dare plead with the old man.
If he lost his position as heir to the Song family, how would he ever be able to pursue Qianqian?!
He had to hold tightly onto his position as the general manager of the Song Group while slowly plotting to snatch Qianqian away from Third Master Lu.
In business, he was no match for Third Master Lu, but in matters of the heart, he still had hope… after all, Qianqian had pursued him for eight years.
Old Mr. Song looked at his eldest son, who was crying his heart out, and he too wanted to give his carefully nurtured son another chance. But when he thought of the things his eldest son had done recently, disappointment flickered in his eyes. “This is your grandfather’s decision.”
“Grandfather, Dad, my brother hasn’t done anything wrong. It’s all Ye Qingyan’s fault, she’s the one who drove my brother out of his mind. My brother has loved her since childhood, but she ran away when he got into a car accident and came back to snatch him away once he recovered. And after snatching him, she didn’t cherish him, she cheated on him during the homecoming banquet and quarrels with him every other day. My brother is the victim, and yet you still want to remove him from his position? Are you trying to push him to his death?”
Song Yunqing knelt before her grandfather, weeping bitterly as she recounted every detail, placing all the blame squarely on Ye Qingyan.
Mrs. Song sobbed as well. “Father, Yuntao has always been diligent and capable in his work. Please give him another chance.”
“Father, Brother, Yuntao is indeed very capable at his job. The quarrels with his wife shouldn’t be entirely his fault. As the saying goes, it takes two to tango, both Yuntao and his wife need to change. Isn’t removing him from his position too harsh?” Second Uncle Song pleaded on Yuntao’s behalf.
He had always enjoyed watching others’ drama and chaos, but he preferred living off his family and waiting for company dividends rather than putting in any effort himself. With no son of his own, his second nephew being his elder brother’s illegitimate child, and his fifth nephew just having graduated, the most suitable person to take over the Song Group was his eldest nephew.
“Father, please give Yuntao another chance!” Third Uncle Song also spoke up in Yuntao’s defense.
Deep down, he actually hoped his eldest nephew would be suspended, both he and his son could then take over the general manager position. But he cared too much about his reputation to kick someone when they were down. With the self-destructive path his eldest nephew was on, he would inevitably be abandoned one day.
“Father, Brother, the quarrels between Yuntao and his wife aren’t solely Yuntao’s fault. If you must punish someone, punish Ye Qingyan.” Third Mrs. Song pleaded sincerely.
Lately, whenever she discussed Yuntao with her friends, they all agreed that neither he nor Ye Qingyan were good people, especially Ye Qingyan, who was utterly shameless for flirting with her own brother. Even if they were only adoptive siblings, it was still going too far!
She was even more worried about Ye Qianqian, afraid that she might be frightened by Third Master Lu.
Deep down, Third Mrs. Song still hoped Ye Qianqian would marry into the Song family so she could look after her. She had been silently praying every day for Yuntao and Ye Qingyan to divorce, and today, she finally heard they were talking about it.
Although Ye Qingyan hadn’t personally offended her, her constant quarrels with Yuntao had thrown the entire Song family into chaos. It felt like a stinkbug in summer, harmless, but its incessant buzzing and fluttering wings were an endless annoyance.
Meanwhile, Ye Qingyan, who was being bandaged up, received no concern from the Song family. Instead, she was met with their malicious slander and ridicule.
At that moment, she deeply regretted taking Ye Qianqian’s place and marrying Yuntao. Not a single day had been peaceful since the wedding. In the first two days of their marriage, Yuntao had treated her well, but she couldn’t help feeling jealous that Ye Qianqian had married Third Master Lu. Resentful and unwilling, she went to her brother to vent, only to be seen by many…
If she hadn’t replaced Ye Qianqian and married Song Yuntao, she would still be the unattainable white moonlight in his heart.
Then he would surely grant her every wish. Just thinking about that life, how she regretted her past decisions!
