- Too Late to Regret, She’s Now With the Big Boss
- Chapter 2 - The Bullet Comments Said She Was Deceived by All Her Relatives
“Third Master, I can barely stand. If you won’t take me, how am I supposed to get there?” Ye Qianqian pouted.
She recalled the bullet comments saying that Song Yuntao and Ye Qingyan were already holding their wedding, yet no one had come looking for her!
That must mean both the Song and Ye families were happy to see it happen!
If she tried to crash the wedding and confront Song Yuntao and Ye Qingyan head-on, it would be like an egg smashing against a rock, she’d be courting death.
Would they really be so heartless toward her?
Half-believing, half-doubting, Ye Qianqian wanted to find a powerful ally to accompany her, just in case.
If they were heartless, then she wouldn’t hold back either!
The most formidable person was right beside her. Normally, she would have been too afraid to even speak to him, terrified he might break her legs.
But the bullet comments had told her that the “Living King of Hell” secretly had a crush on her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have dared provoke him even with ten times the courage!
She had crossed paths with the Living King of Hell a few times before but had never noticed any secret affection.
It wasn’t that she blindly believed those comments, but the fact that she had taken advantage of him and was still unharmed gave her confidence.
If she could verify things at the wedding, she’d know whether the bullet comments were true.
Lu Jingchen watched as the girl on the floor lifted her eyes, giving him a pleading look before lowering them again in disgust. His gaze darkened.
His expression indifferent, he said coldly, “If you can’t stand, then roll there.”
“Third Master, I don’t have the strength to roll. I was set up, which means someone also set you up. Are you really okay with being used?” Ye Qianqian said in a soft, pitiful voice.
She was testing the Living King of Hell’s limits, even dropping the formal “you” for a more casual tone.
“So what if I was?” Lu Jingchen replied expressionlessly. He wouldn’t tell her that he hadn’t been used, he had simply snatched his own nephew’s prize.
He swiftly got out of bed and walked toward her, making Ye Qianqian scramble backward in panic.
Seeing this, Lu Jingchen was displeased. Every time she saw him, she acted as if she’d seen a ghost.
His face darkened, but he said nothing, simply bending down to pick her up.
Ye Qianqian stared at his defined Adam’s apple and the exposed eight-pack abs, swallowing hard.
But when she noticed the red scratch marks all over his body, her legs went weak again.
Even though it was the Living King of Hell’s fault for being too rough and ignoring her pleas leading her to claw at him, Ye Qianqian still felt guilty.
She closed her eyes, too embarrassed to look.
Yet the bullet comments remained in front of her.
[Wait, shouldn’t the female antagonist be crawling out to hail a taxi and rush to the wedding?]
[I’m also curious, why is the female antagonist curled up in the short-lived big boss’s arms?]
[Did the female antagonist get… persuaded in bed? Gotta say, the big boss’s physique is top-tier. If it were me, I’d ditch the male lead and cling to the big boss’s golden thigh too.]
[The male lead belongs to the female lead, darling. Female antagonist, don’t go asking for trouble, I’d rather ship you with the big boss.]
[Now that you mention it, I’d ship them too. One’s genuinely naive, the other loves to act aloof, they’d definitely spark something unique.]
[Wasn’t the female antagonist terrified of the big boss? When did they get so close?]
[She must have an ulterior motive!]
[Whether it’s a hidden scheme or an open one, she’s just a stepping stone for our female lead, darling.]
[Female antagonist, hurry to the wedding and get humiliated, then get sent to a mental hospital by your own brother, where the patients break both your legs.]
What? Her own brother would send her to a mental hospital?
Was that even possible?
He was her flesh and blood, her own brother!
She has three older brothers. Could you specify which one you’re referring to?
Ye Qianqian trembled all over from the barrage of comments on the screen, her face twisted with fury.
Lu Jingchen noticed the woman in his arms closing her eyes, her delicate face filled with loathing and resentment toward him. Suppressing the storm in his eyes, he tossed her onto the bed.
“Ouch! That hurts!” It wasn’t that Ye Qianqian was actually in pain, but being thrown without any warning made her instinctively cry out.
“Where… so dramatic.” Lu Jingchen had initially wanted to ask where it hurt, but after a thought, he changed his words.
He knew she had always been able to endure pain since childhood, and later, for Song Yuntao, she could bear any hardship.
His well-defined brows furrowed tightly, but he comforted himself inwardly.
She was cautious and reserved around Song Yuntao, yet in front of him, she acted out and made a scene, proof that she treated him differently from others.
Even if she was a bit of a handful around him, her antics were still charming, oddly enough, even endearing.
Seeing the “Living King of Hell” frown so deeply it could crush a fly, Ye Qianqian’s eyelids twitched, and her heart seemed to skip a beat.
The comments claimed the Living King of Hell had a crush on her, but this, this was clearly disgust, wasn’t it?
The comments also said she shouldn’t have gone to the wedding venue, but she wanted to see the wedding she had personally arranged.
Afraid that going alone might really land her in a psychiatric hospital at the hands of her brothers, she decided to persuade the Living King of Hell to accompany her and incidentally, test the truth of those comments!
“Third Master, I just want to see who Song Yuntao is marrying, who could be worth him betraying me like this.”
Ye Qianqian’s weak, tearful voice shattered Lu Jingchen’s heart. Without hesitation, he picked up his phone. “Bai Lang, bring in a few sets of clothes.”
After hanging up, he turned and coldly ordered, “Cover yourself with the blanket. I’ll take you there shortly.”
With that, he bent down to pick up the torn fabric from the floor and tossed it into the trash. Hearing the doorbell, Lu Jingchen strode over to answer it.
Taking a few bags through the door crack, he slammed it shut with a bang.
“These are clothes for you. Do you have the strength to wash up?” His voice still carried a frosty edge.
“No need. Aside from the soreness, I feel quite refreshed.” Not only did Ye Qianqian feel clean, but she also caught a faint whiff of medicinal herbs.
Clearly, the Living King of Hell knew how to cherish beauty. At this moment, Lu Jingchen handed her a formal gown.
His slender, well-defined fingers sparked endless imagination.
“Third Master, you’re being so good to me, do you want to take responsibility for me?” Ye Qianqian asked with tearful eyes.
“What did you say?” Lu Jingchen’s icy inquiry sounded almost disbelieving, though upon closer listening, his voice trembled slightly from excitement.
His deep, dark eyes stared at her unblinkingly, as if waiting for something, silently watching.
A sweet smile curled at Ye Qianqian’s lips. “I said, I want Third Master to take responsibility for me.”
“How do you want me to take responsibility? By sending you to the wedding? Or helping you steal back the groom?” Lu Jingchen’s voice was frigid, his expression even darker.
Seeing this, Ye Qianqian decided to throw caution to the wind. “If Song Yuntao is marrying someone else, then I don’t want him anymore. I want to register our marriage instead.”
Those who cling to the past remain trapped in pain and misery. She wanted to live well with the man who secretly loved her.
“Do I look like someone you can have just because you want me?” Lu Jingchen’s voice was colder than ice and snow.
Ye Qianqian’s words struck him like a bolt from the blue, casting a shadow over his eyes that sent chills down one’s spine.
Gritting her teeth, Ye Qianqian pressed on tentatively, “Third Master doesn’t seem willing, it was me forcing you to take responsibility, desperately wanting to get that marriage certificate with you.”
