- Chapter 11 - Second Young Master Song
“Qianqian, why are you leaving without eating?” Lu Jingchen had just led Ye Qianqian out of the hotel entrance when a man’s voice shouted after them.
“Xiao Feng, why did you come out?” Ye Qianqian stopped in surprise and turned to ask.
At the same time, Bai Lang held up his phone and asked, “Sir, there’s an international video call. Will you take it now?”
Ye Qianqian tilted her head up and whispered to Lu Jingchen, “Third Master, you go ahead and take the call in the car. I’ll just say a few words to Xiao Feng and join you right away.”
Lu Jingchen had originally planned to take the call with Ye Qianqian, but after being soothed by her earlier, he also knew she didn’t like Xiao Feng.
So he magnanimously said, “Then we’ll wait for you in the car, Madam. If anything happens, just shout for me.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll just say a few words to him. What could possibly happen?” Ye Qianqian lowered her head as she spoke.
“Qianqian, hurry inside! President Song and President Ye are both scolding the eldest miss!” Xiao Feng urgently grabbed Ye Qianqian’s sleeve and tried to pull her back in.
“Xiao Feng, you chased after me just to drag me back so I can take the blame for Ye Qingyan?” Ye Qianqian yanked her arm free, disbelief in her voice.
“Qianqian, how could you think that of me? I came out to tell you that if you go back now, you might still be able to salvage things with the eldest Young Master Song. After all, you served him for three years. Since he’s so ungrateful, there’s no need for you to be polite to him.” Xiao Feng said angrily.
Ye Qianqian watched as Xiao Feng’s face twisted with rage. She was about to say something placating when she was stunned by the floating text that appeared before her eyes:
[Actually, the female antagonist isn’t stupid! She knows Xiao Feng just wants her to go back and take the heat for our precious female lead. That’s exactly what he’s trying to do.]
[After the big boss stormed off, Song’s father, Ye’s father, and the male lead all blamed the female lead for being unreasonable. Xiao Feng doesn’t understand the full picture, but he knows that as long as the female antagonist is present, everyone will redirect their anger at her.]
[Female antagonist, don’t fall for it! Xiao Feng never liked you, he’s the female lead’s second simp.]
[The person above got it wrong. How could Xiao Feng be second?]
[If we’re really ranking them, number one is the male lead, number two is the eldest Ye brother.]
[Number two is Ye Ruixuan. Number three should go to Xiao Feng, right? He loves the female lead so much.]
[How does he love her? Elaborate.]
[Xiao Feng was willing to go to a mental hospital to retrieve the female antagonist and marry her after she lost both her legs, all for the female lead.]
[The female antagonist and Xiao Feng grew up together. Wouldn’t marrying her mean he developed feelings for her?]
[Not at all! If he liked her, how could he stand by and watch as her own brother tied her up and sent her to a mental hospital?]
[I really want to know, why did Xiao Feng marry the female antagonist?]
[Our female lead has been playing around all these years and can no longer have children. You get it now, right?]
As she read line after line of comments, Ye Qianqian’s emotions shifted from disappointment to fury, then to shock, all in an instant.
Xiao Feng had indeed grown up with her, but they weren’t childhood sweethearts. Rural children had too much farm work to do and knew nothing of romance.
Many modern wealthy families, emulating ancient aristocratic practices, would select impoverished students to sponsor as assistants for their children.
When Ye Qianqian learned of her father’s intentions, she had recommended Xiao Feng. Before seeing these comments, she had genuinely believed Xiao Feng had a crush on her.
Turns out, Xiao Feng also liked Ye Qingyan. All her goodwill had been wasted on a dog!
From this moment on, her lingering affection for Song Yuntao, her yearning for familial love, and her fantasies about Xiao Feng’s secret admiration all vanished without a trace.
Ye Qianqian cast a cold glance at Xiao Feng and was about to turn away when she heard the flippant voice of the second young master of the Song family.
“Well, well, if it isn’t Miss Ye, always dreaming of becoming my elder brother’s wife. What’s this? Crying at the doorstep?”
“Get lost. Don’t block my way.” The anger Ye Qianqian had been suppressing finally erupted.
She knew this man idolized his god-like elder brother, Song Yuntao, above all else.
In his eyes, the only one worthy of Song Yuntao was Ye Qingyan, the epitome of perfection in every way, not some country bumpkin like Ye Qianqian!
Over the years, he had never missed an opportunity to mock her, hurling sarcastic remarks whenever they crossed paths.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. So much anger? Is it because you didn’t get to be my brother’s bride today?”
“Second Young Master Song, don’t talk nonsense. Who would want to marry that scumbag?” Ye Qianqian lowered her voice.
These people weren’t worth her time, but she didn’t want the commotion to disturb the “Living King of Hell” in the car.
The second young master was stunned for a few seconds before shamelessly following her. “You really don’t want to be my sister-in-law?”
“Are you blind? Didn’t your so-called goddess just marry your brother?” Ye Qianqian quickened her steps, eager to leave.
“Pfft! She’s no goddess of mine. My brother got married, but the bride wasn’t you, how humiliating! Are you really just going to slink away like this?”
As soon as he finished speaking, six or seven of his hooligan friends emerged from nowhere, surrounding Ye Qianqian.
They held up their phones, poised to record her embarrassment.
The second young master curled his right hand into a fist and pressed it to his lips, a malicious smirk playing on his face as he pretended to interview her.
“Miss Ye, how does it feel to watch the man you love marry someone else?”
The others burst into laughter, their eyes filled with scorn.
Ye Qianqian had endured years of this treatment. Back then, she had been numb to it all as long as she could indulge in delicacies and wear the finest fabrics, nothing else mattered.
Besides, the second young master had only ever teased her without causing real harm. He’d even stepped in when others bullied her.
But now, Ye Qianqian saw everyone as an enemy. She crossed her arms and smirked at him.
With biting sarcasm, she retorted, “How does it feel? Not great, obviously! But no matter how bad I feel, it can’t compare to the feelings of a bastard like you. What do you think?”
The moment the words left her mouth, the jovial atmosphere froze.
Everyone held their breath. The second young master’s face turned ashen.
His friends stepped forward menacingly. “Kneel and apologize to our young master!”
“Apologize for what? You’re the ones who came looking for trouble.” Ye Qianqian strode up to the second young master and slapped him hard across the face.
The force of the blow sent him sprawling to the ground. His cheek swelled instantly, and the metallic taste of blood filled his mouth.
People always seek to bully the weak but cower before the fierce.
And when faced with someone unhinged, they instinctively back away, afraid to provoke.
The second young master’s friends were no exception. Stunned by Ye Qianqian’s sudden outburst, they stood frozen in shock, utterly bewildered.
In an instant, the room fell into dead silence. Ye Qianqian just wanted to end things quickly, she didn’t want the Living King of Hell to witness her brutal beatdown.
Seizing the moment while everyone was still stunned, she swung her long leg in a sweeping kick toward the six or seven hooligans surrounding her.
“You think I’ll keep indulging you like before? I’ve already dumped Song Yuntao, you really think I’d let you push me around?”
