They Are Archenemies, But They Have A Child - Chapter 91
Chapter 91: Spirit Gathering Array
When they reached a fork in the road, Lǐ Dá had the team stop. He looked at everyone: “Our village is divided into five main sections. If we split into groups of ten to search, we should have results within two hours.”
He looked at Leng Licí and Yun Qingwu. “Brother Leng, Brother Yún, you two follow Uncle Wáng. We know every corner of the village. You just need to follow Uncle Wáng’s arrangements.”
Yun Qingwu nodded. “Understood. We will cooperate fully.”
After splitting into groups, the two followed Uncle Wáng toward the jungle to the east.
“See? There’s strength in numbers. What we couldn’t accomplish, they can achieve in just two hours,” Yun Qingwu said quietly.
Leng Licí crossed his arms and sneered, “Why didn’t you understand that principle when we were in the Mind Domain?”
Yun Qingwu coughed, feeling nostalgic about those long-ago events. “I was too worried to think clearly.”
The group reached their destination, and Uncle Wáng made further arrangements. “Brother Yún and Brother Leng, you two come with me. There are often traps set up over there; perhaps the person is inside.”
Everyone dispersed according to the plan. Just as they were about to start searching, a strong wind suddenly rose around them, and You Su Qiān’s voice sounded:
“Leng Licí, your day of reckoning has arrived!”
As soon as he spoke, a powerful force struck straight toward Leng Licí. Leng Licí wielded the golden bracelet on his wrist, which generated a shield to block the blow. Immediately, Leng Licí drew his bone sword and swung it toward the source of the force. A brilliant red light erupted, forcibly pushing back the swirling wind.
Yun Qingwu summoned his ice spear, slashed it across an empty piece of ground, looked at the panicked villagers, and shouted, “Don’t panic! Come here! I won’t let anyone be harmed.”
With Uncle Wáng’s reassurance, the villagers quickly calmed down and rushed into the barrier.
You Su Qiān appeared, holding a whip, glaring hatefully at Leng Licí. “How about that? Did you never imagine I would appear before you again? Everything I suffered before, I will make you repay double today!”
Leng Licí glanced at You Su Qiān with a look of contempt and sneered dismissively. “You?”
You Su Qiān swung his long whip. The wind turned into sharp blades and headed toward Leng Licí again. He was furious. “You half-wit! What gives you the right to be arrogant!”
Before Leng Licí could strike again, Yun Qingwu’s ice spear had already rushed over. With a rotation, it immediately changed the direction of the blade-like wind, sending it straight toward You Su Qiān.
Yun Qingwu: “Since your mouth is so foul, how about losing it?”
You Su Qiān quickly dodged but still suffered some impact. He narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing the two of them. “You two are so inseparable, are you truly together? I thought you weren’t that shallow, but it seems I overestimated you.”
As he spoke, he whipped his long whip downward. Two massive fox avatars appeared, roaring and lunging at the pair. Simultaneously, You Su Qiān formed hand seals, gathering the wind into a massive torrent of sword blades, which pressed down from above.
“In that case, let me grant you the grace of dying together.”
Yun Qingwu tossed his ice spear to resist the approaching sword blades, fighting the foxes bare-handed.
Leng Licí gripped his bone sword and bound the foxes. His eight tails swayed, generating pressure to also resist the downward force.
The two exchanged a glance.
They both felt it.
You Su Qiān’s cultivation was clearly several times higher than it had been previously. This was something that could not be achieved through normal means in such a short time.
“It’s the Spirit Gathering Array.”
Both realized the source at the same time. This array could temporarily boost one’s cultivation to its peak, but it would also consume the user’s life force at an accelerated rate.
However, waiting for You Su Qiān’s cultivation to be depleted and for him to self-destruct would result in significant loss for the village and for the two of them.
The situation was locked in a stalemate.
You Su Qiān, believing he had the upper hand, laughed loudly. “The people of the Heavenly Realm made a deal with me, wanting me to kill these avatars of Yún Chuān. Do they actually think they can control me? How ridiculous!”
Yun Qingwu’s eyes narrowed. People of the Heavenly Realm?
Who?
Could it be Grandfather God?
But Father God is his own child…
Leng Licí stared coldly at You Su Qiān, as if looking at a reckless moth charging toward a flame. “You are quite ridiculous.”
“Who are you calling ridiculous?! Your existence is the joke! You and your short-lived mother are two peas in a pod, only knowing how to turn your backs on your own kind!” You Su Qiān increased his spiritual output as he spoke.
“At least your mother found a mortal. You, however, not only hooked up with an enemy but also a man.”
He sneered, continuing, “You probably don’t know this, but if you look back, these gods have a history of betrayal against our Nine-Tailed Fox Clan! We jointly created the world with them, but because we refused to submit to the Heavenly Realm, they deliberately set a trap and demonized our Fox Clan, making us symbols of disaster and ill omen in folk legends! Without the worship of mortals, we are forced to live in obscurity on Mount You Su! After such enmity, are you sure you still want to collude with this hypocrite from the God Clan?”
Yun Qingwu was inwardly shaken. This was something he had never known.
Leng Licí, however, was unfazed. He scoffed. “Since when was this Lord a member of the You Su Fox Clan? What do your clan’s struggles with the God Clan have to do with me, Leng Licí?”
You Su Qiān’s eyes twisted for a moment, then he said, “What about Defying the Gods? Those immortals only allow themselves to absorb mortal worship. We only wanted a share, and we were branded with the name of evil! Do you still not mind this now?”
Yun Qingwu glanced at Leng Licí from the corner of his eye. He knew this matter had never truly passed for Leng Licí.
Leng Licí’s eyes were calm, and he let out a soft laugh. “Whether I mind or not is a matter between this Lord and the God Clan. What business is it of yours, you bald-tailed fox?”
Seeing that Leng Licí was completely unyielding, You Su Qiān grew enraged. “Then don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
He opened his left hand, revealing a point of light. “If you do not surrender now, I cannot guarantee the life and death of your Yún Chuān avatar.”
Both Yun Qingwu and Leng Licí’s expressions darkened.
Yun Qingwu: “Dare you kill him? If you kill him, what will you use to negotiate with the Heavenly Realm?”
You Su Qiān was nonchalant. “More than that, I want both of your lives!”
As the two sides were locked in this standoff, a commotion arose among the villagers watching below.
Uncle Wáng’s surprised voice rang out. “Sister-in-law Lí?”
Sister-in-law Lí answered, looking frantically at the three people in the air, then her gaze fell on You Su Qiān. “That’s him! That’s the person who locked the Crazy Old Man and me up! He’s not human, he’s a demon!”
Uncle Wáng: “Sister-in-law Lí, how did you get out? Where is the Crazy Old Man?”
Sister-in-law Lí patted her chest, relieved. “I was thinking about a way to open the cage, and I happened to run into my son. After I got out, the Crazy Old Man went home.”
You Su Qiān’s face became extremely ugly upon hearing this, his eyes filled with rage.
Leng Licí sneered. “You can’t even keep track of your own bargaining chip. You Su Qiān, you’re still the same old trash.”
“You’re the trash! You bastard, die!”
The spiritual energy within You Su Qiān suddenly surged. In an instant, a massive gale erupted. The surrounding fields and trees were bent over, and in the nearby sea, high waves crashed toward the shore, one after another.
