The Yandere Queen's Manual for Training Her Wife - Chapter 53
Xia Mingtang woke up amidst a flurry of tiny kisses. Looking at the gentle and elegant face before her, it was hard to associate this image with the person who had tormented her in all sorts of ways the night before.
She reached up to rub her still-dizzy head, only to find her naked body tightly held in someone’s arms.
Qin Yan moved her kisses from the corner of Xia Mingtang’s eyes to her earlobe, her early-morning voice slightly husky.
“Tangtang, I want to…”
Hearing this, Xia Mingtang’s body shivered reflexively, and she struggled hard to push the person away.
“What do you want to ‘want’? Don’t even think about it!”
Daytime indulgence—did she have no shame at all?!
Qin Yan was pushed aside and lay on her side on the bed, but she didn’t get angry. Instead, she gently held one of Xia Mingtang’s hands and said kindly:
“Today’s Saturday. I was wondering… do you have any plans?”
“Plans?” Xia Mingtang was puzzled as Qin Yan toyed with her palm, unsure of her intentions.
Seeing this, Qin Yan reminded her helpfully: “Isn’t one of the things you mentioned yesterday in your ‘control desire therapy’—‘losing control training’? It’s about letting someone else take charge. So today, I’ll follow your lead.”
Wait, there’s such a thing?!
Xia Mingtang’s eyes lit up instantly. Her round eyes spun like wheels.
Qin Yan didn’t rush her, taking the opportunity to plant a few kisses on her pale, tender skin.
Interrupted in her thoughts, Xia Mingtang: !
How am I supposed to think with you messing around like this?!
She got up, grabbed her pajamas, wrapped herself tightly, and, without waiting for anyone, hopped off the bed and ran to the bathroom in slippers.
“Let me take a bath and think this over. You’re not allowed to come in and disturb me!”
She locked the bathroom door and leisurely soaked in the bathtub.
This time, no one broke in—apparently, that person had reflected.
After bathing, Xia Mingtang went to the main hall, where Qin Yan was already neatly dressed and waiting at the dining table.
Breakfast was a familiar mix of Chinese and Western dishes—very healthy and wholesome.
Seeing this breakfast, which looked like a diet plan for elderly health enthusiasts, Xia Mingtang was visibly displeased.
“I want ice cream salad.”
Qin Yan cast her a quiet glance.
Xia Mingtang, feeling emboldened, said, “A strong desire for control is a disease. You said you’d follow me today, so now I’m in charge.”
Aunt Zhou watched the exchange silently, waiting for the next move.
After a moment, Qin Yan’s thin lips parted: “Give her the ice cream salad.”
Triumphant, Xia Mingtang proudly enjoyed her “spoils,” feeling the salad tasted even better than before.
Qin Yan remained silent, quietly sliding a glass of warm milk toward her.
Xia Mingtang pretended not to see it and, after finishing the ice cream salad, finally remembered to speak:
“By the way, there’s a cat sports event in West City today. I want to go.”
“Huh?” Qin Yan looked at her, puzzled.
“Oh, just to watch,” Xia Mingtang cleared her throat. “I have two tickets. Since you’ve been good today, I’ll allow you to come with me.”
“An honor.”
The event was held in a medium-sized venue in West City, with plastic turf, cardboard boxes, and cat climbing frames creating a small sports field.
Cats participating in the event came from all over the world, of various breeds. Some were pets raised by their owners, others were sold by breeders looking to increase the cats’ value.
Events included athletics, gymnastics, combat, and ball games. The main goal was participation, and all attendees could win prizes.
Having loved cats since childhood, Xia Mingtang wouldn’t miss such a grand event.
She arrived early with Qin Yan and secured seats in the front row.
The judges introduced each participant: breed, name, origin, and skills, while showing the cats to the audience.
Each fluffy face was squished and petted but all the cats were well-behaved.
Xia Mingtang admired the judges’ work.
Before the competition began, there was a segment where the audience could bet on the outcomes of the next events. The person with the most correct predictions would win a special prize.
The first event was combat.
Coco, a Maine Coon from Country Y, and Mimi, a Ragdoll from Country M, each wore a pair of pink little boxing gloves.
Coco looked slim, while Mimi was as round as a small mountain. Judging by size alone, the advantage was obvious.
Xia Mingtang bet all her chips on the Ragdoll Mimi, going all in.
The match began.
The referee waved a toy in the center to provoke the cats, successfully stirring their fighting spirits.
Coco struck first, swinging its little fists at the toy.
Missing the toy, Coco’s paw landed on Mimi instead.
Mimi arched its back and raised its long fur in alarm.
Feeling its territory challenged, Coco delivered a few more punches to Mimi’s face.
Mimi, angry, tried to counter with her tiny paws but was pushed down repeatedly.
Eventually, Mimi hissed, fur bristling, while Coco fearlessly leaped on, holding Mimi’s head and biting.
Somehow, the boxing match turned into Mimi taking a beating.
Xia Mingtang and many spectators shouted “Foul!”
The referee’s whistle blew, and the two were separated.
Coco, still upset, hissed and swung its paws at the air.
Mimi, on the other hand, became timid, suppressing her hissing.
Coco won 15:0, becoming the champion, while Mimi ended as the runner-up.
The award ceremony was set for the end, followed by the climbing competition.
Xia Mingtang, having lost all her chips, could only watch as a spectator, sulking.
Qin Yan quietly handed her chips back.
Revived, Xia Mingtang now focused on a particularly fit Siamese cat, with a muscular, perfect five-heads-and-body ratio—obviously a pro climber.
With seven events remaining and five chips, she calculated that a perfect streak could earn her 640 chips and the top prize.
Just as she was daydreaming about the special reward, the Siamese lost its grip and fell from the climbing board—eliminated.
Xia Mingtang’s first dream shattered: …
However, luck turned in the following gymnastics, athletics, and tennis events.
Unfortunately, having lost all her chips, she could only think in her heart.
At the awards ceremony, the boxing event had few participants, leaving one top spot vacant.
The previously beaten Mimi now sat on the runner-up podium, wide innocent blue eyes staring out.
The silver medal suited her plump frame, making her look tiny.
Minutes later, Mimi was taken by her owner for a “lesson” on losing.
Following closely, Xia Mingtang clenched her fists and confronted the owner:
“What are you doing? The point of this competition is participation. How can you treat a little cat like this? You even PUA it!”
Mimi blinked her big blue eyes at Xia Mingtang, looking pitiful.
The owner was stunned: “Who are you? What does it matter to you?”
Xia Mingtang, indignant, said: “Of course it matters! This kitten lost and got hurt physically and mentally. You not only ignore it, you blame it. You don’t deserve to be its owner. I’ll buy it!”
Qin Yan, overhearing the last sentence, was equally stunned: ?
The owner, also puzzled, said, “This one isn’t for sale, but I have other Ragdolls. Do you want to see them?”
She was a breeder trying to raise the cat’s value; selling the prize-winning Mimi now would be a loss.
Xia Mingtang, ignorant of the nuances, just felt the little cat was pitiful and insisted, “I want this one. Name your price.”
Seeing the owner silent, she looked at Qin Yan, coquettishly: “You promised to follow me today, I want it.”
Qin Yan pressed her thin lips together, eyes flicking between Xia Mingtang and the cat.
After a moment, she pulled out a check, wrote a sum, and handed it to the owner: “This is yours. The cat belongs to us.”
Xia Mingtang already had Mimi in her arms.
Miraculously, Mimi didn’t struggle at all.
Owner, holding the check: ?
Today’s people are… unusual.
She checked the check, several zeros in bright red.
Counting three times, she thought: Well, this works.
The owner got the check, Xia Mingtang got the Ragdoll, and everyone was happy.
Only Qin Yan gained a new rival +1.
The nearly ten-pound fluffy cat sat obediently in Xia Mingtang’s arms, getting kissed on the round face, looking incredibly docile.
Qin Yan’s cold gaze turned sharp, directed straight at the cat.
The blue eyes of Mimi stared back at her… defiant.
Xia Mingtang, immersed in the joy of finally having a cat, didn’t notice the silent tension between one person and one cat. She pressed her face against the cat and murmured:
“Oh, this chubby face is so cute… so fluffy… You used to be called Mimi, right? From now on, no one will bully you. Let’s give you a Chinese name… You’ll be called ‘Mimi’ from now on.”
