The World-Destroying Goddess Brings the Child to My Door and Demands Responsibility - Chapter 5
“You and I have already bound our soul contract. Is Mianmian planning to cast me aside after enjoying my company?”
“You don’t want me again…” She looked utterly aggrieved.
Lu Fengmian was once more completely dazed; she felt as though the information she had received today was simply too overwhelming.
Her brain struggled to process it all. What did it mean that she “didn’t want her again”? Back during their very first meeting, Qing Shi seemed to have uttered something similar as well.
At the time, Lu Fengmian had simply assumed the plot was glitching out and wasn’t entirely certain whether Qing Shi had genuinely awakened.
Now that it was confirmed, she felt it would be best to clear things up completely.
“Did we know each other before?” Lu Fengmian cautiously and earnestly asked her.
Qing Shi pouted aggrievedly: “Mianmian was the one who created me, yet you locked me away in the dark room for ages. Isn’t that abandoning me?”
Lu Fengmian was filled with question marks.
“Mianmian is so heartless. Clearly, you created me first, yet you’re only coming to pay attention to me last.”
“Are you saying that ever since I created you, you’ve already had consciousness?” For a moment, Lu Fengmian couldn’t tell whether the “ages” she spoke of referred to the time since she started creating the game Quest for the Dao, or all the way back from her past life.
Qing Shi nodded obediently: “Mn. I watched Mianmian build me, make me a little bit more complete at a time, and even sketch out what I looked like at every single stage, dressing my childhood form up in pretty clothes. But as soon as Mianmian finished drawing me, she ignored me for the longest time.”
She said it with such grievance that Lu Fengmian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
That was indeed what happened; after building Qing Shi’s model, she had first dressed the loli and young girl body types in clothes.
Because she loved the adult Qing Shi the most, she had spent a long time agonizing over what kind of outfit would suit her better, and after pondering it, she decided to go work on the game’s overall storyline and other character models first.
Yet Qing Shi’s words also let Lu Fengmian know that the time she awakened was in this lifetime, not her past life.
If she had awakened in her past life, how terrifying would that have been?
After all, Quest for the Dao did indeed borrow a portion of the settings from that game she had crudely designed by herself in the past, but had never published.
And Qing Shi was indeed present within that game as well.
Though the fact that Qing Shi had awakened the very moment she created her model was already a horror story in its own right, compared to her awakening in the past life and managing to track down her present-day self, the latter somehow felt even more terrifying.
“I didn’t abandon you, did I? Look, in the end, didn’t I still pour the most effort and thought into you?” Lu Fengmian coaxed her with the tone of someone pacifying a child.
Qing Shi still cast an aggrieved glance at her: “But Mianmian gave me the cold shoulder for so long.”
“No matter, Mianmian just has to take responsibility for me.” Qing Shi refused to let the matter go.
Lu Fengmian was caught between laughter and tears. Although she genuinely, deeply adored the daughter she had personally created, when faced with Qing Shi’s inexplicable affection, Lu Fengmian still felt an overwhelming sense of unworthiness.
How could she possibly deserve this!
“Be good, you’ve got it wrong. Look, although I created you, you and I aren’t even people from the same world, right? You’ve developed your own consciousness, and who knows, plenty of other people in this world might develop their own consciousness too. As someone from another world, I shouldn’t keep interfering in your lives.”
Lu Fengmian was still struggling to formulate her wording, desperately trying to make Qing Shi understand that the two of them simply couldn’t become Dao companions.
As a result, Qing Shi’s expression chilled instantly. Along with her souring mood, Lu Fengmian sensed a trace of abnormality.
The way Qing Shi looked at her was far too terrifying, as though she intended to devour her alive, bones and all.
“So Mianmian is going to leave me alone in the dark once again? With no one else around, surrounded purely by nothing but darkness, with the entire world reduced to a void yet I am alive. Clearly you created me, and yet you abandon me.”
She spoke with such grievance, crying as she talked.
Lu Fengmian instantly grew flustered and helpless, hastily reaching out to wipe away her tears: “Alright, alright, don’t cry anymore.”
“I didn’t abandon you! We just can’t be Dao companions, right? Being unable to be Dao companions doesn’t mean we can’t be friends and partners.” Lu Fengmian genuinely liked Qing Shi’s character model.
‘Qing Shi’ also held a different kind of significance for her; this virtual model had once accompanied her through countless difficult, unbearable nights.
That was why, when creating her, Lu Fengmian had once again poured her entire heart and soul into the project, striving to achieve perfection.
At this moment, seeing the ‘daughter’ she had personally crafted and loved the most feeling this heartbroken, Lu Fengmian naturally couldn’t remain indifferent.
She leaned in close to gently coax Qing Shi, even reaching out to pull her into an embrace.
Yet in her panic, Lu Fengmian completely forgot that the two of them were still wearing absolutely nothing at that moment.
The second she pulled Qing Shi into her arms, realization struck, but it was already too late.
Before she could react, Lu Fengmian was caught off guard and pinned beneath Qing Shi’s body once more. A searing kiss descended, robbing her of any possibility of resistance.
Once she had kissed her fill, Qing Shi released Lu Fengmian’s lips, gazing down at her with darkened, heavy eyes. Her fingertips landed upon Lu Fengmian’s body, stroking her with infinite gentleness.
Last night, Lu Fengmian had been drugged, leaving her consciousness far from clear. Though she remembered Qing Shi being very gentle, she hadn’t possessed such vivid memories or direct physical sensations.
Facing Qing Shi’s lingering, affectionate gaze right now, coupled with those feather-light touches, Lu Fengmian felt the heat rising within her once more.
“Qing Shi… don’t be like this.” Lu Fengmian couldn’t resist, and could only attempt to make Qing Shi let her go by playing weak.
Yet hearing her words, Qing Shi seemed displeased once again.
Pouting, a dangerous glint flickering in her eyes as she stared at Lu Fengmian for a long while, she suddenly seemed to hit upon an idea.
“Mianmian said that it was me who bullied her, so I don’t need to take responsibility, and she doesn’t need to take responsibility for me either. Then, if Mianmian bullies me, shouldn’t Mianmian be the one to take responsibility for me?” Her eyes suddenly lit up, looking at Lu Fengmian with a look of eager anticipation.
Lu Fengmian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Was she supposed to praise her for being clever? She certainly had the guts to say and think anything.
“Qing Shi, that’s not how logic works.” These events had arrived far too abruptly, leaving Lu Fengmian’s mind in absolute chaos.
She definitely liked Qing Shi after all, she was her self-created little cutie but that affection was definitely not romantic love.
You don’t just fall in love with someone the moment you lay eyes on them, even if you created them yourself!
The probability of love at first sight was simply too low!
Just as Lu Fengmian was still trying to figure out how to explain it to Qing Shi and persuade her to abandon this notion.
Qing Shi had already captured her hand, extending the tip of her tongue to sweep across Lu Fengmian’s fingertips.
Such a sultry, erotic action caused Lu Fengmian’s already sluggishly operating brain to crash once more.
She stared blankly at Qing Shi, then lowered her gaze to look at her own fingertips.
[Wait, I didn’t teach her these things, did I?]
[I never programmed this kind of content into her, right?]
[She didn’t have it in my past life either, did she?]
All sorts of messy thoughts suddenly popped up in Lu Fengmian’s mind.
Then she dazedly watched as her hand was dragged over by Qing Shi, her fingertips slowly disappearing from view.
She raised her eyes to meet Qing Shi’s gaze. Qing Shi leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
Qing Shi held Lu Fengmian tightly in her embrace, heavy, scorching breaths falling upon Lu Fengmian’s skin, as though intent on melting her away.
“Mianmian, help me.” She watched Lu Fengmian’s eyelashes flutter, her face tinged with a hint of grievance.
The overpowering dominance from a moment before had vanished completely, leaving behind only heart-wrenching vulnerability and restless, unbearable longing.
Lu Fengmian didn’t know why she suddenly flipped over to pin Qing Shi beneath her, nor did she know why she suddenly made a move.
She felt like a scholar who had fallen under the spell of a seductive vixen.
Yet at the same time, she wasn’t someone under the influence of an aphrodisiac probably wouldn’t have a mind as clear as hers.
Lu Fengmian was acutely aware that she was teasing Qing Shi.
Ringed in her ears were Qing Shi’s soft calls, her light, trembling gasps.
Breath by breath, lingering and gentle, calling out her name.
Lu Fengmian felt as though she had truly lost her mind; she never knew she could be so utterly incapable of resisting temptation.
She kissed Qing Shi, teasing her.
Watching her shed tears because of herself, a sense of fulfillment spontaneously arose within her heart.
Seeing Qing Shi shed tears from excessive stimulation, Lu Fengmian pressed a kiss to the corner of her lips.
Then she lowered her gaze to look at her own fingertips, her cheeks instantly flushing a brilliant red.
She…
Qing Shi had merely tempted her casually, so why on earth had she taken the initiative?!
Lu Fengmian felt entirely like crying without any tears left.
