The White Fox Master's Dragon Disciple Won't Stop Chasing Him - Chapter 4
An itchy sensation came from his fingertips, and he lowered his gaze to look.
It turned out that after carrying the white fox down, he had been far too lost in reminiscing about the past. Yet, under his hands, he had unwittingly flipped the white fox over and continued stroking its fur, eventually touching somewhere he shouldn’t have.
Although Shizun was in his true form, he had long since reached the limit of his endurance. Planting his paws against that misbehaving hand, he opened his mouth and treated Shi An to a bite.
Snapping back to reality by that bite, Shi An looked at the spot Yunzhou had just bitten and smiled inwardly, feeling that Shizun was utterly adorable when acting like this.
On the way back while carrying Shizun to dinner, he kept teasing him with his hands.
Yunzhou grew truly exasperated by the annoyance. He used his tail to cover his ears, while his two paws kept frantically swatting at the hand that was wandering all over his body.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to bite him, but doing so only seemed to bring the offender pleasure. It was akin to slapping someone across the face, only for them to catch your hand and kiss it instead.
Yielding to reality, he had completely lost all remaining strength and means to put Shi An in his place.
Upon returning to the dwelling, as he accompanied Shizun through his meal, a thought flashed across Shi An’s mind. Worried that Shizun might genuinely get lost one day, he spoke up to ask:
“Shizun, might this disciple add a spell array to the silver bell, using a wisp of soul consciousness as an imprinting guide? It will only be used for tracking and will not hinder Shizun’s movements in the least, and it can also protect Shizun at critical moments.”
Hearing this, Yunzhou lowered his gaze in contemplation. In Shi An’s eyes, the little white fox buried its head slightly while its tails swayed gently, and he knew Shizun was feeling concerned.
He hurriedly said, “Shizun, please rest assured. This disciple’s soul consciousness is now stable, and my cultivation has also stabilized at the mid-stage of the Mahayana realm. With a bit more recuperation, I will make a full recovery. Carving this imprint will not cause any damage to my soul consciousness.”
After hearing the little dragon cub’s explanation, Yunzhou finally set his mind at ease and nodded gently in agreement.
Little did he know that this imprint would later be modified and put to use during their intimate moments in bed though that, of course, is a story for another time.
As a trace of dark red micro-light vanished into the bell, complex patterns emerged. The patterns shifted and intertwined as the array activated, then slowly shrank until they coated the surface of the silver bell and gradually faded from sight.
The array was complete.
Days passed quietly in a rhythm of the white fox lounging in the trees and licking its paws, while the wandering dragon searched for medicinal herbs.
Shi An sensed that the day Shizun could transform back into human form was drawing closer, yet he worried that lingering hidden injuries in Shizun’s soul and consciousness might leave him simple-minded after his transformation.
Even though he had checked on him countless times, he still feared a single mishap. Whenever he heard word of soul-nourishing immortal flora or spiritual herbs surfacing, he would always rush to the scene in time.
If it concerned other sects, those who were reasonable could be considered for peaceful resolution through exchange; as for those who were unreasonable, a good beating to knock some sense into them usually sufficed, seeing as his mid-stage Mahayana cultivation gave him more than enough strength to fight.
Sustaining a few injuries during a fight only meant he would have a compassionate Shizun waiting for him upon his return, one who would indulge him by letting him bury his face deep into his soft, fluffy tails.
Compared to negotiating, fighting was simply far more cost-effective.
Recently, word spread that the Azure Pill Pavilion had successfully refined the Soul-Nourishing Ling Pill, which could pacify the soul and solidify consciousness, prompting Shi An to head there without a moment’s hesitation.
After being announced by a junior disciple clad in water-green brocade robes, he smoothed down his lapels and cuffs, then followed behind him into the pavilion.
Passing through winding courtyard corridors, the structures here were staggered and built according to the terrain, with flying eaves and intricate brackets. Once inside, the interior was rich with the fragrance of brewing tea. The walls were coated with fragrant pepper, and translucent gossamer gauze dyed in a plum-blossom hue fluttered gently.
After escorting Shi An inside, the junior disciple took his leave.
Coming into view was a figure clad in a lotus-blue brocade robe made of swallow-feather damask, accented with overlapping layers of moon-bright silk that lent him an even greater aura of nobility, his hair secured with a silver crown.
A pale silver mark rested upon his forehead, and emerald jade earrings swung from his earlobes. His bearing was elegant and refined, looking entirely at ease as he leisurely poured tea.
Judging by his posture and temperament, one could tell he was extraordinary yet he still could not compare to Shizun.
